Chapter Four - Life at The Forman Household Part 2.

Mrs. Forman, The Girls, and D.J. are in the kitchen, eating breakfast. Lisa turns her attention to D.J. and Kelly.

Lisa - Hey, Donnie and Marie, heard y'all two got caught in bed again.

D.J. - Please mind your own business.

Kelly - I know.

Lisa - Just saying.

Kelly - Shut up already!

Kitty - Now, girls, it's too early for this.

Red enters the dining room.

Kelly - She started it!

Red - All three of you stop it, or you two will sleep in the basement, and Dylan will sleep in the garage.

Kelly - Sorry, Grandpa.

Red - It's okay, Princess.

He turns to his wife.

Red - Kitty, do you have the newspaper?

Kitty - No, I guess the paperboy is running late again.

Red - Where is that imbecile?

The sliding glass door opens, in walks a young man, about the same age as the kids, he has short brown hair, and dressed casually, he's carrying a bag of newspapers.

Ashton - Hey, Mr. Forman, I brought you your paper.

Red - Thanks.

He pays him his fee.

Red - Why are you late again?

Ashton - Umm, see what had happened was...

Red (Interrupting) - Did you break something in my front yard again?

Ashton - No...not this week.

Red is starting to get a mean look on his face.

Ashton - We'll talk later, I gotta go.

He turns around and leaves, but he runs into the closed door, and falls down, he gets up again.

Ashton - Why do you have so many doors in your house?

Red is about to walk towards him.

Ashton - See ya.

He runs out the door, Red goes to sit down at the table.

Red - Dumbass.

Kitty - Now, Red, he's just a young man working for a living, just like you did when you were his age.

Lisa - I don't see why, his mom is on the board for city council.

D.J. - And she's rich.

Kelly - I wonder who she slept with to get there.

Kitty - Now, Kelly, be nice...And yes, Pam Macy might be a bit of a tramp, but she's done a lot for the school.

Lisa - Yeah, especially if it favors her idiot son.

She turns to Robin.

Lisa - Hey, Robin, you should date him.

Robin - Ugh, yeah, right.

Lisa - Why not, he acts just like you.

Robin - He does not, shut up!

Kitty - Girls, stop it.

Lisa finishes her breakfast, and gets up from the table.

Lisa - I gotta get to work, I'll be back later.

Kitty - Bye, Sweetie.

Lisa - Bye, Grandma.

She exits the house,

Kitty - Now, you kids have a good day at school, and please stay out of detention.

Robin - Umm, I don't get detention, I'm beautiful.

Kitty - Nice try, Robin, you can't fool me.

Robin - Ugh!

She gets up from the table.

Robin - I'm gonna go get ready for school!

She goes and runs upstairs.

Red - Don't worry, she'll get over it in a couple of seconds.

The Telephone starts ringing, Mrs. Forman answers it.

Kitty - Hello...Oh, hi, Steven...How are you doing?...That's good...Oh, he's right here, hold on a second.

She turns to D.J.

Kitty - Dylan, phone, it's your father.

D.J. gets up, and gets the phone.

D.J. - Hello...Uh huh...Uh huh...oh yeah?...That's great!...yeah...Ok.

He turns to Mrs. Forman.

D.J. - My dad wants to talk to you, Mrs. Forman.

He hands her the phone, and returns to the table.

Kitty - Now, Steven, you promise to call this weekend?...Oh, you better call, mister, after all, I raised you like you were my own son...except Eric cried alot.

She laughs.

Kitty - Goodbye, Steven, I love you...Bye-bye.

She hangs up the phone.

Kitty - Steven says hi from Canada.

Red - Good for him.

She gets her purse, and kisses Red on the cheek.

Kitty - Now, I'm off to work, have a good day.

D.J. - Bye, Mrs. Forman.

She exits the house, Kelly gets up from the table.

Kelly - I'm gonna go get ready for school.

She leaves the kitchen, leaving D.J. and Red alone at the table.

Red - Dylan.

D.J. - Yeah?

Red - Since school is almost out, are you gonna look for a job this summer?

D.J. - Yeah, I am.

Red - Good.

D.J. - Well, I have to if I want to leave point place.

Red - Leave point place? Why?

D.J. - To go to Canada, and live with my Dad.

Red - Do you know where he lives presently?

D.J. - No...But I''ll find him. I know I can...Same goes for my mom.

Red - Dylan.

D.J. - Yeah?

Red - Don't get your hopes up.

D.J. - I won't...Once I get enough money, it's bye-bye point place.

He gets up from the table.

D.J. - I'm gonna go get ready, and head off to school.

Red - Have a nice day.

D.J. nods, and heads downstairs, Red continues reading the newspaper. Surprised by what D.J. had just told him, Red is concerned about his future plans, as unknown to anyone besides him and Mrs. Forman, D.J.'s mother actually passed away several years back, she had died of a disease she had gotten due to sharing needles, they chose not to tell D.J. anything, at least until the time is right, as for his plans to move to Canada, and stay with Hyde, Red thinks this is bad.

When Hyde was told about D.J.'s existence, he had promised to return back to point place when he got himself together, which at the time he said would've taken a few months, but years had passed, and he never kept his word, despite him saying that he will, the Formans know that he won't. Red doesn't want D.J. to get let down or hurt, even though D.J. is not his biological son, Red, Mrs. Forman, the girls, and everyone else cares for him like he is family. Just like they had cared for Hyde.
