Arthur knows about Merlin’s magic. But the rest of the kingdom does not. How will they respond when they learn?

His magic revealed before he was ready—Merlin is banished from Camelot. Arthur has turned his back on him, because of who he is—because of what he is, confirming Merlin's worst fears of never being accepted. For three years, Merlin lives his life running. He barely remembers what he felt like living in Camelot nor the warmth of a caring embrace. He has been reduced to nothing.

After the Battle of Camlann, Merlin cast a spell to bring everyone who was a part of King Arthur's legacy back so that they could aid Arthur during Albion's time of need. 1000 years later, the reincarnations are born again, but things didn't turn out as planned as everyone but Merlin remembers. Retrieving his memories in time to take on a new threat might be harder than they think.

Arthur and Merlin always fight, but Merlin's mother usually isn't waiting in Gaius's tower afterwards. And just like that, Arthur finds himself chasing after his servant again.

There is more to Albion than the mainland. The Durham family of Nardwain come to negotiate peace talks and experience Camelot's harvest festival. Merlin finds himself deep in a complex family struggle hoping to reach Arthur before things take a turn for the worst. This story takes place late season 4. Modified Universe.

"Merlin, what are you doing?" Arthur tutted as he knelt down in front of him and pressed a cloth to his side. "Did Gaius teach you nothing? Keep pressure on that." He laid out the items Merlin had asked for before threading the needle with an unexpected familiarity. (Set in s01e09. After Merlin's plan to take on the Black Knight fails spectacularly, Arthur is there to help.)

Arthur uses a magic thingy to follow Merlin around all day and discovers some interesting facts. He also discovers that Merlin really is an idiot, but then he already knew that. Agravaine is really horrid to Merlin in this, but Arthur doesn't receive any spoilers. Canon compliant. I pay my licence so I reckon that means I own a teeny-weany bit of Merlin.

His gaze fell to the boy's parted lips, so close and tantalizing that it drove him insane. He leaned forward and, looking deep into his eyes, asked in a low, breathy voice, "May I?". Merlin licked his lips. "Please," he whispered in response.

Arthur catches sight of a scar on Merlin's back which he can't explain, so he asks each of the members of the Round Table if they've seen it, too. They have...but it wasn't the same scar. (Rated T for descriptions of scars & injuries; no slash/smut/profanity.)
