There was a man standing in the dark. He was thinking about his day, which had been unusual today even for him. His name was Bartholomew Dumbledore and he had a lovely wife named Polly.

This was no ordinary couple. No, this was the most extraordinary couple in the history of unordinary couples; these people were wizards, bound by a statute of secrecy to never reveal themselves to the outside world, which was full of the most ordinary people you could ever meet.

"Good morning Polly" said Dumbledore. He was in the kitchen in his wizard's robes drinking his morning tea when Mrs. Dumbledore came walking down the stairs in her frilly blue nightgown, She answered her husband; "Would you like some breakfast before you run off to the ministry, dear?" He was reading The Daily Profit. "No thanks Polly dear I'd best be off." And with those words he stepped towards the fireplace, took some green sparkling powder out of a cloth bag and tossed it in, then he said firmly, 'MINISTRY OF MAGIC!', and he was gone. His wife, Polly, was wondering how their son was doing at school, this was his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She was ecstatic when the owl came. Her husband was speechless, they had known it would be coming soon, but they didn't know exactly when. "That doesn't matter now," thought the boy's mother happily, "All that matters now is that Albus is at Hogwarts at this very moment." He was such an incredible boy; he could do things most boys wouldn't be able to do till they were in their 3rd year at Hogwarts. Albus was so excited when the letter came, he could hardly wait until they got his robes and his books. Being as talented as he was, he already had a potions kit, a broomstick, and a variety of other things that he would need to bring. His mother and father had hoped he would be put into The House of Gryffindor, because they had both been in Gryffindor.
