And keep in mind that this is an AU, so some things might not play out as in canon.
In the next months Naruto made good progress with his Chakra control. Currently he could walk with ease on a tree and stone wall and could walk for about 10 minutes on the water.
His training lessons were shortened, because he begged his parents to help with everything for his little sibling. Both adults agreed chuckling. It was good that his training lessons were only from Morning to noon, because Minato and Kushina could get more stuff for the baby done in less time and Naruto wouldn't overdo it with his training.
Hiruzen praised Naruto's progress for a six year old child. The retired Hokage said that he was a quick learner and that Naruto would be, even if it was only a little considering that all the children of famous Clans and Clanheads would be in his future class, ahead of his class in the Chakra aspect.
And after training the blond boy would eat a quick lunch and then ask his parents if he could help with some things.
They usually said no and reasoned it with the things that had to be done were too hard for him or that he was too young for that task.
But sometimes they let him help build some pieces of furniture.
All in all the family had much fun together.
Timeskip#five months later.
Naruto waited impatiently in front of the cave that held his parents, his hair that already reached past his shoulders tied up in a ponytail. His grandfatherfigure was with him.
"Jiji, is Kaa-san going to be ok?" He asked concerned after half an hour. Hiruzen smiled reassuringly. "I'm sure she will." He reassured the boy.
"Say, you enrolled academy four months ago? How is it so far." The retired Hokage asked to keep the child entertained. Unfortunately he had forgotten some card games or something similar.
"It's great, Jiji. Everyone is super nice and I even made friends!" Naruto told proudly. The old god of Shinobi was curious. "Who are your friends and what are they like?" He asked.
"They're Hyuga Neji, Nara Shikamaru, Akimichi Chouji, Inuzuka Kiba and Uchiha Sasuke. Although Sasuke at the start didn't talk much. But now he talks like as if he didn't sat quietly in the classroom before I decided that he's gonna be adopted into our friend group. We partly adopted Shikamaru too, but that was without Neji or Sasuke. I now notice: we did adopt Neji in someway too." Naruto told about how he adopted together with Chouji and Kiba the rest of the friend group.
Hiruzen smiled. Sasuke did need some light in his life and the little Namikaze-Uzumaki boy was surely the right light for him. He knew that from this early childhood bond it was going to develop into a brother-like friendship.
Their peaceful chatter was interrupted by the shaking sound that came from inside the cave. Naruto looked at Hiruzen, who had a serious expression on his face.
"Is everything okay with my parents?" the little boy asked. Hiruzen smiled at the boy. He smiled, but his eyes gave the worry for his successor and his wife away.
Naruto looked worried to the cave. He didn't know what was wrong, but he did know that something was wrong.
Hiruzen ran inside the cave and left Naruto alone. That maybe wasn't the best Idea since the kid was a curious one and he ran after his grandfather figure.
The boy didn't like the sight he ran into. He really didn't like it. His mother weakened from the birth on the table, worry for her kids clearly in her eyes.
Minato tried to get his newborn child back from the hooded man, who held the baby. He spotted Naruto, but didn't want to say anything in fear that the masked man could take his son away too.
The masked man was too busy to fight the Yondaime off and trying to keep the child. The child was needed for later plans.
Naruto just stood there, not knowing what he could do. He was just a little kid after all. Barely in Academy and not able to defend himself.
He wanted to help his father. He wanted to play a role in his siblings savoir and safety. But he felt like he couldn't do anything. It was hopeless.
The masked man vanished with Kushina and the child. Minato ran out of the cave right after they dissapeared.
Naruto just stood there and watched everything. Hiruzen Sarutobi laid a hand on the little boys shoulder. "I'll bring you to a safe spot." The Sandaime calmly said.
Naruto just nodded and took the offered hand of Hiruzen. Together they walked off.
