Sorry for the very long wait. I got sick then my computer Died and then the holidays. So life got in the way.
How in the world does animals that do not have thumbs build buildings like these? I yelled as soon as Nick and I got out of the hospital. Like other words I have used, Nick had no idea what thumbs were. I had to tell him it was like the dewclaw that you have but it was further away so you can grab things better. He grabbed my paw and had me look at his and I noticed how he could move his paw was like how I could move my hand as a human. You all have evolved. You all found a way to use your paws like hands for humans. Before Nick could ask I said do you still have my phone that I had on me when whoever found me found me? He just so happened to have it. He said he needs to take it to the police station. I said let me show you something on it. I was able to show him pictures of it and I showed him what I looked like and Luke and McCoy. I was able to show him what hands were and how we could grab anything we wanted with them. Our hands were made to use them to grab and not to walk on them like paws. Our feet on the other hand were made to walk on. I gave him back my phone and tried to walk like everyone else around me.
It was mostly me holding on to Nick for dear life but I did it. Seeing animals in clothing was something else also. I thought that germs were a thing that the animals in the hospital just wear to keep the fur off of everything but I guess not. Before I left an elephant which by the way are giants! But at the same time, I was much smaller than I was so maybe they are not but on two legs they are giants! Anyways she brought in clothes for me to wear and trying to get pants on with a tail was something else. I also guess shoes were something else too. I guess shoes do not need to be a thing? Which makes sense I guess.
I started to look around and noticed how this city looks a lot like New York City. I said you know where I am from there is a city that is just like this one. O yea, Snow? Yea it is called New York City. Rumor has it you can be anything in that city. If you can do it in that city you can do it anywhere. That sounds a lot like what we say about Zootopia, Nick said. It's the city where you can be anything. Well, we all know that is a lie I said laughing. If it is anything like New York then people come to it thinking that they can do it but living and how many sneaky people live in it so in the end it never happens unless you have a good sense of will. Sounds like you know all about how life is in Zootopia. I have seen it happen to my sister. She came home in rags and smelling like trash because she thought she could make it big in the city. My family is from a city also but it is small compared to New York, but it is because of me being from a city that I know how to pull a good one on people. I can pirate a movie pretty well. I have all of the Harry Potter movies because of it. (AN: I really do not have a clue how to do that. I am too scared of getting a virus on one of those sights.) I think Nick and I are starting to see how there are a lot of similar things from our worlds so he just nodded at that and thought of something similar that this world has.
Nick said are you hungry? We can stop to get something to seek our teeth into on our way to my place? I said yea sure. With a smile on my face; I knew that he was pulling a joke but it was too cheesy not to laugh at that. What would you like to eat he said? I noticed that you did not eat a lot of what was given to you at the hospital and I was surprised that the doctor or nurses never said anything to you. O well that, you see in my time humans eat animals. We are the species that we're able to build homes and create order and we were able to kill anything that could to get the food that we needed. Nick cut me off there and said I can not believe that. I gave him a look that said be cautious on your next words. If he noticed he did not give anything away that he did and said how from the pictures I saw your hands have no claws and your mouth can not hold any powerful teach so that is impossible. I laughed at him and said try to outgun someone who can make weapons that fly in the air and hurt the animals so that we can get close to kill them ourselves. Most of the animals we kill today are animals that we raise on farms and when they become old enough we kill them. What I hate are the farms that raise animals just for their fur. My mom has so many pelts of animals that I would and still yell at her. She also goes out of her way to get the best meat. I get sick just thinking about it. My family eats and eats meat and yes humans are meant to eat meat but not to the amount that they do. So as soon as I moved out I became what I would call a vegetarian, but I still eat fish. If you take fish away from me then I would die. I love everything that comes from the ocean.
So you are telling me that you do not follow what you should be eating because you can not stand how the animals are treated. Nick said.
That sounds about right, I said, but fish is the total opposite because the day that there is no more fish in the ocean I will be surprised. Plus all the fish farms. I will eat fish all day!
There is a seafood restaurant down the road. It is one of my favorites. I know the owners and they always give me a discount. I smiled at Nick after he said that and said yes! The hospital food had too many scents that I did not like and the food smelled fake almost.
Yea that sounds right about hospital food. The food department has rules on food and it is because those predators can not have protein from sources that might make them want to hunt their prey. This is not possible since we all think before we act anyways. So why do you have a seafood place then? I said. He said because it is not a hospital. Hospitals have odd rules about food and how healthy it really is.
By this time Nick and I have reached the restaurant. I could smell the fish before we could see it. Nick started to smile at this when he noticed. He said calm down you will get the best-cooked fish in town. Cooked? I asked. He said yea every meat needs to be cooked. Something about us not being allowed to take blood and we have come to the point where most predators can not handle blood when we eat it.
Humans are the same way. We can not handle eating things that are not cooked anymore.
Nick and I have sat down and the waiter gave us a menu. Nick said to the waiter is Sue and Bill in the back? The raccoon said yes they are. Tell them that Nick is here and they will know who you mean. The raccoon took our drink orders and walked away. I saw so many types of fish and I got so excited. I then saw the price of the fish and said O Nick I do not have any money. Well, I do but it is not in Zoo dollars. Nick said it is fine, but after you get used to the world and when the police department gives you the yes that you are ok then I would go find a way to get all the paperwork in order so that you can get a job. I smiled at him and said a Job? Nick said yes a job and a legal job or I will not hear the end of it from Carrots or anyone else from work that the vixen that is staying with me is being a con fox and should not have been released into the world. I said that does not sound like a fox. Sticking to the rules. Nick said 5 years ago I would have said the opposite. I would have found a way to be a sly fox with you, but I enjoy being a police officer and using my mind that I use to use for cons to catch criminals. Plus teasing Carrots is just an added bonus.
Carrots? I asked
O that is right I have not told you about her yet. She is a bunny that works for the ZPD and is my partner. She hustled me into a case about 6 years ago now. I had to help her and at the end of it, she got me to join the ZPD. She made my life of a sneaky fox into someone who is still a sneaky fox but I use it in a way that helps people. Nick said.
You sound like Luke. I smiled at Nick. He has told me so many times that my brain should be used for another way, but I am happy making a quick dollar. Besides it is better than having all the money you need and then more like my family. Money is never a good thing to have too much of.
NICK! This otter came running yelling at our table. Hey Bill how is it going? How is Sue? Nick said. Oh, you know same old stuff. The restaurant is always keeping me busy plus Sue is always making sure that this restaurant is always sailing. Sue is sorry for not coming out to say hi. She was about to go upstairs and check on the kids when we were told you were here. Said Bill.
That is fine said, Nick. Oh, this is my friend Snow. She is new in town. I said nothing back. Otters are mean and slimy things. I was trying so hard not to cower down on all fours and growl at him. He seems nice enough, but I did not know what to do. To prove that I did not know what to do and started to get scared I let out a small whine. Nick heard it and grabbed my paw. He smiled at me and said to Bill sorry she is pretty shy and gets scared easily. Oh, Said Bill. I am so sorry Snow. Here the meal is on me tonight my treat. Just don't get the meals that are over $10. If you do then Sue might kill me. Bill and Nick laughed and Bill walked away.
I looked down and said to Nick I am sorry. I got scared. Otters can be very scary creatures unless you keep your distance from them. I did not like being that close. Nick said no need to be sorry. I saw you fighting yourself and you did a great job. I smiled at him and said thank you right when our waiter came back with our drinks and asked what we wanted.
We both ordered but Nick said let get it to go. I see you looking around and fighting yourself for growling. We waited for our food and Nick started to tell me about his rabbit friend. I said is carrots really her real name? For a bunny, I guess I could believe it. Nick had this shine in his eye that I knew that he was going to play a joke on this bunny through me type of look. He said yup that is what I call her. I said I can see right through people so I do not believe you but I would love to see her face so I will go with it.
We got our food and started to head out of the restaurant. I am still holding on to Nick to dear life but I am walking. Tripping and almost falling still but we are walking. I said I feel better that we are outside I did not like being in there with so many people. Mammals. Huh? I said Nick repeated himself and said Mammals. People are mammals I said. We also are smarter than any living mammal on the planet. In your universe yes but in this one nope. Humans never became a thing. Mammals became the smartest species. I said yea you are right becoming very sad. By this time Nick was leading me to this house. It was a nice small house and cute. We were walking inside when he took one look at me and noticed that I was not looking straight ahead anymore nor was I talking anymore also. He said we are home and I took my hands away from his arm and went down on all fours and started to walk around. His home looks just like anyone's home back home. A TV, a kitchen, a couch, a bathroom. Floor and walls and even 2 bedrooms.
I noticed Nick was letting me walk around. I jumped on the couch while Nick was putting the food in the fridge. I went in a circle and laid down. Nick came in and sat on the couch next to me. I looked at him and by this time I was crying. Nick saw that I was crying and then the next thing I knew I was picked up from the couch and was in Nicks's arms. He asked what is wrong? I miss my home. I miss McCoy. I miss Luke. I wonder if this is all a dream? I mean I would dream of this. If this is a dream then it would make a great book when I wake up. I am still crying maybe even harder.
Nick then said McCoy is fine. The Zootopia hospital is taking good care of him. If you said what happened is what happened when the car hit him more than it hit you. He is also changing from one animal to another. A dog sounds like not as an intelligent animal as a human so he has to grow more to wake up. He also has to heal. Nick started to rub his face on mine and started to lick it. I nuzzled into him more and my tail started to more. See? he said. I barked saying What? He smiled and said you might be scared but you are happy right now. I looked at him being confused and said your tail is making it known that you feel happy and safe with me. I looked up at him and said. I hate having a tail. We both laughed while I put my head back down on Nick and fell asleep.
