A/N: This is something that came to me as I was watching the Season Two commentary (they were talking about the giant change in Kelly's behavior about halfway through the season). I'm not sure, but I guess this tries to explain it. Reviews and constructive criticism are always welcome.
Disclaimer: I own nothing. Well, that's not entirely true as I own this computer I'm typing on and I own a beautiful fender bass...but I own nothing related to the office.

Say Anything

That whole weekend was a blur. There were images emblazoned still, in her head, in her nightmares, of skin--her boyfriend's skin, mixed up with a woman's skin that wasn't hers. There were shrieks which she's pretty sure belonged to her, still ringing in her ears every now and then. And there was the memory of packing her bags and storming, vision blurred from tears, out of the house.

Kelly had been in love only one time. And she had regretted it ever since. She had called in sick the day after her and Greg broke up, and stayed in bed at her mom's house watching "Say Anything" with a couple pints of Ben and Jerry's. By the end of her third viewing, she had decided that she was swearing off love.

She stood up, let her hair down from her customary tight bun, and looked in the mirror. She grabbed some shiny lipgloss from her purse, put it on, and smiled. And she did something she hadn't done since she was 16. She giggled. "Oh yeah." She thought. "Love's gotten me no where. But flirting never hurt anyone."
