Not gonna lie, this week has been a terrible one for me. I got sick for a couple days and was out of it. Then when I thought I was finally ok to go back to work, I did, only for my fever to come back with a vengeance to kick my ass again.
Such a terrible week, luckily it's over now.
The doors to the club opened gently revealing a scene, jaune had come to know practically by heart at this point. Juniors club was dead when the sun was out as were the staff from partying the night before with the exception of the main man himself. A few of the goons that could move were spending their time fixing up the place for today when he passed by.
Jaune spared a few greeting to a few people as he made his way to the bar where junior usually was. The older man slid over some pills to two girls who looked like they were having the worst hangovers ever. Militia and melanie looked as beautiful as ever don't get him wrong but the way they slumped over the bar and groaned like zombies suggested they felt anything but fine.
"It's already past noon and you girls are still acting like this? If only the boys who come here to see you both could see you like this, it'd break their hearts" jaune laughed as he took a seat next to the twins. Militia rolled her head over the bar to look at him from her position "I hate you" she hissed.
The blonde smiled mischievously which was the only warning the twins got before jaunes hand slammed on the bar with a loud bang. Groans and curses were fired off as insults, but to him it was like music to his ears. Junior shook his head at jaunes antics "if your done playing around your partners in the backroom waiting for us".
Jaunes enthusiasm dried up pretty quickly at the news. It wasn't that he didn't like blake anymore it was just that things became really awkward between them ever since he told her about what happened with yang. Honestly he wanted to have a serious talk with her to see where they stood with one another but she apparently made it her mission to avoid him every chance she could.
"Girl troubles huh? Never thought I'd see the day when you'd show any interest in any girl besides neo".
Jaune bit down on his bottom lip as he turned away from the elder man. What happened between him and neo was a sensitive subject and probably would always be for him. Just thinking back on how he watched her walk off to a life of crime was probably his biggest regret.
Junior poured a drink in a glass and pushed it his way. "You know I never did get the full story about that, feel like sharing the details"?
"You sure we got time though? I thought blake was waiting for us"?
Junior poured himself a drink before walking around the bar to take a seat in the stool next to him. "After all the hell you two put me through throughout the years I think I deserve to know what went down". The elder man took a sip from his cup before giving the blonde his undivided attention "talk" he ordered.
Jaune held the man's gaze for a moment before looking down into his drink "we both wanted different things in life and neither of us was willing to compromise for the other. The end". It was a summary of the events that took place but even as he said it, he knew junior wasn't going to let him off that easily.
"Sounds rough but I didn't ask for the short version, now spill unless you want me to get it out of you the hard way".
Jaune knew that the elder man couldn't do it physically, but that didn't mean he didn't have other ways to get what he wanted. Reluctantly he caved when junior raised an eyebrow in a manner that suggested that he not push him. "Alright, alright already" jaune said before taking his drink and drinking half of it in one go.
"It's nothing all that crazy ok, it's just we had a conversation about where we were going to go for...career paths. I wanted to continue on to Beacon and I thought she'd be all for it. Surprising as it was she agreed with me and we even planned to find a way to be on the same team together. Things were going great and I was really excited about it...then I surprised myself".
"What'd you do"?
Jaune smiled warmly at the memory and the surprised look on neo's face. "I kissed her". The twins had all but forgotten their headaches and just stared at him like he grew an extra head. "Wait you kissed her and not the other way around"? Melanie asked when her sister couldn't.
Junior held his hand up and silenced the two girls before they could ask anything else. "So what happened next"? Jaune swirled his drink in hand for a few seconds as he recalled his memory of that day.
"After I kissed her I felt terrified since I went for it without thinking of how she might have felt about me. Next thing I know I'm about to apologize before she knocks me over and the best make out session I've ever been a part of starts. After five years and spending so much time with each other I started having feelings for her and the momentum she returned those feelings...well, I've never been happier."
Jaunes smile fell into a frown as he recalled what happened next. "Everything was great, no it was better then great because I'd have had her there with me or so I thought". His hand tightened around the glass until it creaked "then the very next day she came to me and told me she had changed her mind".
"If I had to guess it wasn't by choice" junior grumbled.
Jaune smiled bitterly "I didn't get to ask because before I could, she started going on and on about how much better it would be working with roman again. Then the sales pitch happened and she thought I'd leap at the chance to join her as one of romans top men. That's about when our differences in opinions came into play".
Jaune emptied the rest of his drink before continuing. "She was so excited and kept pumping herself up because she thought I'd agree like she did with me. But I just couldn't".
Junior hummed in response as he tapped his finger against the rim of his glass "everyone has their reasons I suppose but I won't judge someone who'd rather avoid this kinda life". Jaune couldn't help but chuckle at that "yet look at me now, working as your secret enforcer to keep the white fang from taking over. In the end I guess I'm just as much of a criminal as she thought I could be".
There wasn't really a point in denying the truth and junior knew that, just as much as the twins did which is why they didn't even bother to try. The elder man shrugged his shoulders "maybe so but you got to look on the bright side of this shitty situation. If you did join her as she wanted, you would be working with the white fang and fighting against me and my boys".
That brought a smile to jaunes face "your right and I'd more then likely be fighting against my friends in Beacon as well". It was odd that even though he was thinking of his friends the first face that came to mind was ruby's. He'd seen how she reacted to neo's presence in the fight at the weapons store and didn't know if he could handle having her as his enemy after how close they'd become.
It might have made the fight between him and cinder unnecessary but there was always the chance she would have turned on him anyways. Ruby on the other hand would throw herself in front of a bullet for him if needed - even if he'd never let that happen. Put into perspectives like that only reinforced his decision that doing all this was more then likely the right choice for him. "Still, would have been better if she was here" he whispered to himself.
"So anything happened after telling her no"? Junior asked
"We argued back and forth for a bit but eventually she gave me an ultimatum, either go with her and be happy together or reject her and I'll never see her again. I couldn't decide and she took my silence as my answer and disappeared using her semblance. After that I committed myself to becoming a huntsmen for my own reasons and ended up falling for someone else, even if it's a little rocky at the moment".
Junior nodded to his words "want some advice"? Jaune eyed his boss for a moment before nodding. "First off let me say that I heard that the other blonde you've been hanging with is trying to win your affection, so my first piece of advice would be to reject her if you got no plans to get with her. Second, I think your making the same mistake with blake like you did with neo. She's not psychic so she isn't clear on what your relationship is if you don't make it clear to her".
Junior sipped a little more of his drink before turning fully to the blonde next to him. His hand reached up and landed on jaunes shoulder "and lastly, the longer you wait to talk to her the harder it'll be so stop wasting her time and get your ass over there". That last bit was more of a threat but it did get him out of his seat and moving towards the backroom where blake was.
Junior watched jaune disappear into the backroom before turning to his drink once more "must be getting soft in my old age" he mumbled to himself while the twins giggled from his side.

When jaune opened the door to juniors room he saw blake leaning against the desk and tapping her index finger on her arm while they were crossed. Their eyes met for a brief moment before blake turned away with a small scowl. It was only a moment but jaune had noticed dark rings forming under blake's eyes from lack of sleep, probably due to her nightmares.
"Where's junior? He said we'd get things going when you got here".
Judging by her tone and the way she avoided looking him in the eye's told him that this wasn't going to be easy. "Yeah...junior thought we should have words before we got to that, and I'm thinking he's right". Blake let out a frustrated sigh and still refused to look his way "there's nothing to say".
"I think there is" jaune said as he took a few steps closer. He made sure to move slowly and carefully so she wouldn't feel pressured in anyway. "Ever since I told you about what happened between yang and me, you've been distant and I thought it would pass with time but it's only made things...harder".
Blake smiled bitterly "and why wouldn't it? First you tell me I mean something to you and then you go for another woman to get your kicks with". Her teeth gritted "sorry but I don't like having my feelings played with".
"Blake I'm not trying to hurt you-"
"Really"? She chuckled as she shook her head "was that before or after you made out with yang by the bullhead docks"? Jaune clammed up unable to say anything. "I was there you know, at the bullhead docks hoping to catch you when you got back...so I could apologies. Instead I got to watch you and yang going at it" any warmth in her voice had long since vanished as she spoke. "Like I said before, there's nothing to talk about".
Jaune passed a hand through his hair as he thought "maybe your right and we should just give up on this before it gets worse". Blake's hand gripped her arm tightly "I'm sure yang will be happy you chose her". Jaune shook his "I'm not choosing her because I chose you, for what little that matters to you".
Blake turned to the blonde and glared angrily at him "what little it matters?! It mattered a lot to me"! Jaune crossed his arms and met her glare "could have fooled me. The second I came to you with a problem with another girl you practically make our relationship non-existent. If you really cared as much as you say, you wouldn't have done that to me".
Blake pushed away from juniors desk and marched over to jaune before jabbing her finger into his chest "how was I supposed to act when the guy I like is hooking up with other women"? Jaune growled at the cat faunus "I wasn't hooking up with other women, I came straight to you with what happened and thought we'd get through it together like we were supposed to".
"I was hurt by what you did-"
"And I was hurt by you as well" jaune countered before she could continue. Blake backed away but jaune pushed on "I know I messed up and I regretted it but I wasn't the only one to make a mistake that day". Blake's eyes narrowed into slits "so what? Your saying it's my fault this happened"!
Jaune took a deep breath to calm himself "no, the first time I kissed yang was my fault and mine alone, but the second time happened partly because of you and cinder". Blake shook her head "your making excuses now". The man in front of her shrugged his shoulders "maybe I am but it's not entirely a lie".
"I left Beacon because I was angry at what happened between us and then I got to vale and ran into cinder. We talked and things went sour there as well so I came back here and you know who was here? Yang".
Even though he had calmed himself a little while ago, jaune felt his anger rising again. "She was there when you weren't. Things were already going terribly that day and I still hadn't been able to sort out my own problems when more got piled on. Let's not forget I still had to deal with the hostage exchange later that same day, so I'm sorry if I took what little good I could get to keep me going"!
"That still doesn't excuse you".
"Your right, maybe it doesn't but at least I'm trying to make things right. I just wish I wasn't the only one" he said exasperatedly. He was trying, he really was but if he was the only one then what was the point. Blake didn't say anything for a long minute and just continued to watch him. She closed her eyes a moment later and turned away from him "forgiveness doesn't come easy" she said in a low voice.
"It's going to take me a little while-" she continued on with her back to him "-but maybe I could try...a little harder". He knew she was still angry at him but he couldn't contain himself when she had just given him hope. Two arms wrapped around her waist and shoulders from behind while jaunes chin rested on top of her head.
She could've resisted if she wanted to but the moment she felt his warm breath against her cat ears, the fight drained out of her. Blake hated that he could do that to her but she couldn't find it in herself to regret it at the moment. "Jaune" the blonde hummed in response to his name "I don't want to see you with yang like that again...promise me you won't go to her next time" it was petty of her but damn it she needed his word.
Jaunes chin slid off the top of her head and to the left. Blake turned her head to see him when jaunes left hand removed itself from her waist and gently took hold of the right side of her face. His lips met hers for barley a second before he pulled back "I don't think that'll be a problem since I've got you" he whispered gently to her.
Blake couldn't stop the tint of red that colored her cheeks but neither could jaune apparently. Blake wasn't one to show much affection in front of people but here, with no one around, she didn't have to care about that. "I think your going to have to prove that to me".
Blake's hand reached up and touched the left side of his cheek before guiding him back to her. It was gentle at first but the hunger they felt grew stronger until blake turned herself around and place both hands against his chest and pushed him back. The blonde back up until he pressed against something solid but couldn't be bothered to care what it was at the moment.
Blake kept up the momentum as she kissed and bit his bottom lip, drawing a tiny groan from the man in front of her. Jaune had gotten lost in a haze of lust when his hands found new perches on blake's backside. He squeezed and earned a gasp from the girl in front of him before deepening their kiss. A primal urge awakened within him and he moved from kissing her lips to the side of her face before moving on to the beautiful white skin on her neck.
In one quick motion, jaune and blake swapped position and he had her pinned against the wall. His hands explored the lower part of her body as her hands gripped his golden locks and held his head closer to her chest. More gasps air and more kisses before the next thing they knew the two of them fell backwards as the wall gave way.
The two hit the floor and cursed the world before looking up to see a bearded individual with a raised brow. "I said to talk to her, not get her hot and bothered in my room" junior huffed. Jaune and blake scrambled to there feet and quickly tried to fix their clothes.
"We were just-" blake tried but the elder man gave her a pointed look that shut her up. "Trust me, from what I heard just now, I know exactly what you two were doing" he said. Blake and jaune exchanged looks with one another before blushing madly.
Junior shook his head "just get inside so we can get this over with before I change my mind". The two rushed into juniors office as they were told, leaving the elder man in the hall alone. "Teenagers" he said before entering his office.
