Merlin vanished from Camelot ten years ago and hasn't been seen since. Arthur has been king of Camelot for just over seven years, since Uther's passing. During those years he has changed many laws to make the kingdom a better place. Even though he changed some things he refused to change one out of respect for his father, the ban on magic.
