Choices: Reid

Disclaimer: I do not own the Covenant or anything.

A/N: Review of course!

Reid sat in his bedroom, staring at his hands, he did not tell the others, but he was terrified. When Caleb had grudgingly told the tale of Chase's death, Reid had choked on his breath. He knew that they were angry with him for using his power so recklessly; they had accused him of being the leader of the recent events. However, would they who he grew up with kill him? Both angered and thankful for the answer that he knew, he hid his terror of falling from the others. There was another source of terror that had kept him going with Caleb to see his father, the terror that would hopefully prevent him from becoming consumed.

Wondering how he could control himself, he looked over to the book he had left on his nightstand. Grimm Brother's Tales the way he fell asleep every night, reading a horrifying tale of destruction and pain. Taking in the picture of a hobbled old man, Reid shuddered, that would be him. He thought tonight, he could sleep easily, until the other side of him showed up. Come on, the Reid I know would toss that kind of thinking out the window, along with a couple of buckets of cold water. Why not just let yourself have one more piece of fun, maybe go to the club and win some money. Meet some girls, throw caution to the wind, and enjoy the night. We all die anyway, and you are the most powerful, the others are afraid. They do not deserve the power, take it from them! Clutching his head and screaming at the voice to stop, he tossed a glass at the mirror that seemed to mock him, cracking the mirror, and shattering the glass. He would never let that voice lead him again; however tempting winning power and prestige was, he would resist. Hopefully, he would. He jumped when the door opened and in walked his three friends. Just that sight, Pogue smiling, Caleb rolling his eyes, Tyler standing in their shadows emanating resolve, made him forget the voice, at least for now.

When the time came, he hoped he would have the strength to ask for death if he had to. Knowing that scared him, but in a good way. He shouldered his jacket and the four walked out into the hall, leaving the mirror image to sulk in silence.

Done, sorry for the wait, I got distracted, but am back on track. Pogue is next! Please reiview, I need other ideas for characters.
