February 3rd, Tuesday afternoon,

There was a strange scent in the air, no one else noticed it but Logan and Jessie and Evan just a little bit, but he got more of his mom's senses, his dad was thankful for that because of how much noise, smells and lights were everywhere, so he got a reprieve according to him.

Logan walked out of the foyer to track down the smell and find its source, Jessie was close on his heels, he turned his face to her and she stopped in his tracks knowing what came next.

"You gotta stay here kid." Her father told her, she rolled her eyes and took a few steps toward him.

"I can take care of myself dad, ok?" He folded his arms and raised his eyebrow at her, that girl and her father had the same attitude, so telling her no about anything was challenging, even for her mom.

"I know you can so-"

"Then why can't you let me come with you? You're the one who lost your healing, I have mine... what if you need help?"

"Jessie"

"What if it's Sabretooth and you need my help defeating him?"

"If it's Sabretooth then I don't want you with me." Logan and his daughter said most of that together, Jessie was so used to her dad telling her not to be there when he was fighting baddies, especially Sabretooth, she thought that was stupid, I mean seriously the name sabretooth sounds like what a little kid would choose for a villain name.

"Why not? I'm younger than you, I've got more claws than you!" She said unsheathing five claws one in each of her fingers, instead of like what her dad had in his fists.

"Jess, I've told you before I-"

"That what he's dangerous? His fighting style is stupid, both your fighting styles are!"

"Hey! Now that's not fair." Logan said taking on a disappointed expression,

"Well aren't you the one who always tells us to mix it up, and not to be predictable? You and him are so predictable it's embarrassing to watch! I'd rather fight him like mom would and be up in the air beating his ass rather than getting my ass beat!"

"So you're sayin' he could beat me more than I beat him?" He asked her,

"Well yeah! I mean you guys have been fighting for ages! Mom would've cleaned the danger room with his face a long time ago."

"No, no, your mom doesn't fight him, I do. Alright? I don't let your mom or you kids get into a brawl with him because I know what he'd do if he got his hands on you."

"And what would he do?"

"He'd tear you apart! That's what he'd do... and then he'd come back and throw what's left in my face." You could see in his face that he really didn't want to say that, but he had to do something to let them know what was going to happen if they got involved with him. Her dimeanor changed, he should've expected that knowing she didn't back down easily, just like her mother.

"I wouldn't let that happen and you know that! I'm strong!"

"All kids are cocky, alright every kid thinks they could whoop ass until they meet somethin' they can't handle and come back in pieces..."

"But I can fly! Can he do that?"

"No,"

"Can he maneuver in the air?"

"No,"

"Can he control lightning?"

"No but that's not the point!"

"I bet I could kill him in the time it took you to get one slice on his body."

"Hey! You don't kill your enemies"

"Unless it's absolutely necessary, I know dad."

"Right."

"Look, I'm coming with you and there's nothing you can do about it this time, ok dad?" She said mimicking him in his composure.

If you'd seen it you would've laughed as seeing the Wolverine face off with his daughter was actually quite entertaining, so much so that there was a little bit of a crowd growing around them, and some of them were snickering because the man that always gave them a hard time was getting some of his own medicine from his kid and he couldn't do much about it. Though one glance and raise of his eyebrow sent them on their way there was no way they would ever let him live this one down... ever.

"Oh I can do something about it alright." He said with his classic crooked smile.

"What? It's not like you can pick me up and throw me over your shoulder like you and mom used to when I was a little kid." She said sassily, but then she felt herself being lifted in the air, she looked back to see Jean with her hand to her head and staring straight on to her. He wanted to make her stay here where it was safe and not come out there where who knows what was waiting for them, but he knew she would just come anyway, even if he tied her up in metal chords she'd still come if she wanted, not that he'd ever do that to his own kid, but if it was ever necessary he would.

They walked over the grounds and through the woods a bit till the smell was strongest, there they found nothing really just a patch of something like paper that stunk to high heaven.

"This is why you didn't want me to come, ha-ha-ha, it's just a stupid piece of paper from the sewage, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!" She laughed so hard she almost fell on the ground giggling, Logan wasn't one to blush, not usually anyway, but if he had been his cheeks would be about strawberry pink right now.

"Haha very funny kid." He said perturbed as he looked around some more and sniffed the air again to see if there was something he was missing. As to what he could sense there was nothing else, just his daughter laughing her head off because her dad the big bad Wolverine was so protective of her over some stupid butt tissue. Suddenly something caught his attention, he didn't know what it was but it made his left ear ring.

"Jessie stop!" He said loudly to her, she stopped laughing and looked over to him, his head was down eyes were closed, a moment later they opened and he looked around to see nothing but his surroundings and the girl who followed him. She gave him a questioning look, he motioned to his ear and she understood standing next to him tuning her senses to the world around her as he did.

A minute passed, then two minutes, three... finally the pair looked to each other unsure if they heard anything or not.

"I think if there was anything it's gone now." the girl said relaxing her body, he looked around one more time then to her, as on alert as he always was he had to agree with her at least some, as much as he was used to being paranoid he hated it. You had to be on guard all the time cause you didn't know what was going to happen next, or where it was going to happen. It was seriously overrated.

Logan turned toward home and started walking when he smelled something familiar, Jessie smelled it to, she smiled as she looked up.

"Hey mom!" She yelled to the woman who was steadily descending to them.

"Hello baby." Ororo replied smiling warmly to her daughter then husband, who she went to as soon as her feet touched the ground.

"Is everything alright?" she asked him concerned, he looked around again checking for anything out of the ordinary, not sensing anything this time he replied.

"I don't know... I could swear that there's somethin' around here that we don't know about." At his words the woman at his side had an idea.

"Well then perhaps we need a better perspective." The couple looked to each other he nodded and in a swift motion she'd picked him up and flew them both a good distance from the ground. Jessie went up the same time they did and wasn't very far away, she turned to them and shouted over the wind.

"I'm going to check this way, you guys can check over that area." The teen then started flying in the opposite direction.

"Be careful!" Both her parents yelled in sync as they watched her go.

"That girl is a born leader." Ororo said as she held Logan, he scoffed and smiled thinking of the argument they'd had just that morning.

"Heh, yeah... She's got your backbone, my stubbornness and both our attitudes, she's a natural born leader alright." He said with a hint of humor in his tone, he looked up at her seeing that her expression was not one of amusement.

"I don't have an attitude." She told him smirking slightly, he held his smirk as he replied.

"Yeah ya do." Her smirk fell at his words and turned into a look of slight agitation

"I do not." She restated which only made his smirk grow.

"Ya really do darlin." He looked up to her for a moment, then back down to the ground

"No you're the one with the attitude Wolverine." She told him again this time adjusting her hold on him, he flinched when she did this but calmed down a moment later knowing she'd never drop him from this high up even if she was mad at him.

"Yeah, but I'm not the only one..." He said this time grinning at her knowing he would probably pay for this later, but for now it was worth it. She really looked unamused now, she then turned her head to the horizon.

"We will finish this discussion later Logan." She said as she continued forward.

"Oh I know we will..." She did her best to hide the chuckle that was playing at her lips as she knew what he was talking about, she couldn't see his face but the tone in his voice told her that he had a smug look right now, and there wasn't much that would wipe it off unless there was a real emergency.

A while after looking around for any sign of trouble and not finding it the couple floated down to the ground, Jessie met them down there.

"I didn't find anything dad, mom."

"Neither did we." Ororo answered their daughter,

"Ok."

"Ya wanna meet us back at the school spark?" Logan asked her she smiled, same kind of smile her dad had.

"Sure dad." She answered him and turned about to go back, then stopped and looked back to them.

"You guys sure you don't want me to walk with you?" She asked feeling unsure for reasons she couldn't all the way place, her mom was about to answer but her father beat her to the point.

"Yeah kid, go play with your friends or somethin', we'll be back in a few."

"Ok." She answered then ran a few steps and took off into the sky.

"You didn't want her to come back with us this time?" The woman to his side asked, he looked back at her his eyes taking on a particular glint.

"You an' me have still got a score to settle princess." He said turning to her, she smiled to him,

"Oh we do?" She asked arching her brow at him,

"Oh yeah, we definitely do." He replied to her looking her up and down like the hot stuff she was.

"And what is this discussion going to be about?" She asked taking a step toward him, he in turn took one as well.

"Ya should know darlin, you're the one that said we'd finish the discussion later..." She opened her mouth then closed it a smirk on her face,

"Oh, I see, you want to make me see that I might have a slight bit of what did you call it?" She said mocking forgetfulness,

"A sassy attitude..." He said stepping closer and wrapping his arms around her waist, she giggled at his words.

"I do not." She said between her laughter, he pulled her closer to him so their bodies were touching now, she wrapped her arms around his chest smiling to him.

"Oh but you do." He repeated starting to nuzzle her, she looked up to him.

"Well, I guess maybe a little." She admitted realizing he was probably right being that we all miss things about ourselves that others can see easily.

"Maybe a little more than that." He teased her

"Now you're just being mean."

"Who knows, maybe I am, maybe not."

"Oh you!" She said playfully hitting his chest at which he laughed. He then pulled her closer, she lifted her face just enough for their lips to mold to each other. Their bodies were flush against each other as their lips danced together in passion. She pulled away a couple moments later, he looked at her confused at her action. She looked up at him and smiled lovingly.

"I am sorry my love, your stubble tickled my neck." She said trying not to snicker.

"Oh it did?" He asked, she snickered,

"Like this?" He asked as he caught her off guard pulling her to him so fast that she couldn't do anything to resist, she tried to push him away but soon found herself squealing in laughter as he landed a big raspberry on the side of her neck.

A while later the two came back to the mansion, looking into the field they saw their kids playing a game of football with the others. Tabitha strutted by a moment later with one of the newer students by her side, seeing them she smiled sassily and gave Storm a heated look that told her that she knew everything…

Oh rest assured their tickle fights rarely stayed just tickle fights… many times they'd evolve into something much more than that, becoming something that was ever so pleasant to them both that they rarely had a day now where they didn't have an exchange of excitement and love such as this. Unless the day was just too complicated for them. She was slightly blushing upon seeing the teenage student's expression, so much for keeping the secret between them and only them.

I am sooo sorry for the long wait guys, I had the original version of this written a while ago, and then my device malfunctioned and deleted half of it, and with that came some serious writer's block...

But I got this up and I'm hoping to get the next chapter up soon as well, I apologize if it takes a little longer than I hoped, but I also have a family to tend to as well, so yes, life has me set... lol
