When all was said and done Tony, one of the men who was there sighed then motioned to a couple of his friends to come over with him. The two picked up the one man took him out to his car putting him in the passenger seat, then they went back in the third man joining in to lift the heavier man off the floor, haul him out and shoved him in the back seat. He then made a call to Dianna and Ororo letting them know about their men.

Dianna was upset, but helped the men bring him in and set him on the bed, Ororo did the same having them put him on their bed as well. After they left the kids went into the room where their dad was.

"What happened to daddy?" Ayotunde asked his mother, she looked at him and smiled,

"He had a little too much fun with Uncle Darien." She told him, he looked back at his dad then went to his side shaking him.

"Daddy? Daddy, wake up." He told him but he was too out of it.

A while later:

The first thing he saw was the table, the wall behind it was dim, his senses told him everything as usual. He was in their bed, it was foggy outside, Ororo was in Ayotune's room with him, Evan was outside with Kendall, and Jessie was on the roof reading one of her favorite books.

He got himself up from the bed, started walking and stumbled a bit but caught himself on the door post, then started walking again. His stomach ached, did he get drunk last night? He thought, that shouldn't be possible… he didn't have nearly enough to drink to make him drunk. It would at times take the whole night of drinking just to get buzzed depending on what he was drinking no thanks to his healing factor. And that was when two plus two made four.

"Oh of course." He thought aloud.

His healing factor would make it almost impossible for him to get drunk, it was the one thing he hated about that gift, (aside from the many times he'd tried to kill himself and it not work because the darn thing would just heal him, which of course was before he had Ororo and their family.) Well unfortunately for him the blasted thing just had to stop working, so he was left to cover his own ass, but thinking of last night he was kind of happy about it… he could actually get drunk now, who'd a thunk?

Passing their son's room he went out to the kitchen opening the refrigerator pulling out some left overs from the previous night and not really caring for formalities he shoved some into his mouth savagely. Only about one minute later did he get a plate and load it up, going to the table he could hear his son and daughter outside playing a game of tag. He loved hearing his family around him, it brought a level of joy to him he'd seldom known before.

He could smell the forest on someone walking towards the house, he wasn't concerned though, he knew their walk anywhere. A couple moments later he looked to the door to see Laura pop in.

"Hey kid." He said getting the telltale look of irritation back from her.

"You're never going to stop calling me that are you?" She asked he looked up at her again.

"Nope, goes with the territory." He said not bothering to look at her,

A small smile formed on her face, she didn't like the term at first, but it grew on her as did all the other nicknames he gave his other kids and everyone at the school. She came over and sat down by him just watching him eat, looking at her out of the corner of his eye he saw her. Her head rested on her folded arms and a peaceful smile relaxed on her face, he couldn't help but smile back.

Though he wished he knew about her when she was a baby so he could save her from the suffering that was a life of slavery to a Goddamned hell spawn of an organization such as Weapon X or Hydra, he wouldn't change a thing about her now, well her personality that is. The nightmares she could do without though, the wariness… that kind of goes with being hyper-sensitive to everything around you.

You run into so many people with questionable intentions, even if they're being nice you can smell their intentions, their lies, their desires on the air around you, it's so strong it's almost suffocating at times. He almost lost it sometimes when people would ask him why he would go into the woods so much, especially when you had some idiot who tried to use that as something to make him feel like he wasn't a good husband and father to his family because he was "away all the time" as they put it. A couple times Gambit and Scott had gotten on his case about it, which afterwards Ororo, Jean and Rogue had to get between the two to make sure he didn't turn the offender into a quick slice of salami, which almost happened.

He could hear gentle footfalls on the floor nearing them, he turned his head just in time to catch the woman's lips in his own. She pulled away a moment later a bit surprised but knew she should've expected that.

"Good afternoon my love." She said warmly to him, he smiled warmly back to her.

"Afternoon love" He said not losing eye contact with her, she sat down on his side as well, after a moment of silence she spoke.

"Sleep well?" She asked, he shook his head that still throbbed with a hot ache that refused to leave him alone. He didn't expect to have a hangover from last night, he didn't even drink that much was it what 2 or 3 bottles? Oi, he was losing his edge.

"My head won't stop throbbin', feels like I got shot right in the temple." A minute later he looked to his side to see a bottle of water on the table next to his plate, Laura sat down next to him again.

Was he really this rusty, or was she just that good? Maybe it was the headache, throbbing pain and ringing ears didn't help sensing anything. He'd grown lax with his family around him, nothing bad had happened in a long time and with the rate things were going it wouldn't in a long time. Their children were the offspring of two highly trained alpha and omega level mutants who specialized in kicking ass.

"He challenge you to a drinking contest again?" Ororo asked to his side, he took a big drink of water then put it down.

"Yeah." He answered simply.

"Who won?" She asked, he stayed silent not giving her an answer for a minute.

"In reality I don't know… we got so hammered last night I don't recall who drank more or less… just us fighting over some stupid shii… stuff before I blacked out." He finished then looked to her, she raised her eyebrow slightly at him.

"Now do not tell me that he landed a hit so hard on you that it knocked you out, did he?" She asked genuinely curious.

"I… don't know…" He said flatly not remembering much of what happened now.

"I would find that hard to believe."

"Yeah, me to Darlin'." Laura squinted at him slightly,

"If that happened you bet no one's gonna let you live it down." His clone laughed, he smiled mischievously at her then,

"Lucky for me, no one but me and him would know, cause only us saw what happened." He said smirking at her.

"Yeah, you and about five other people who were there." He gave her a confused look.

"You guys weren't the only ones there you know, there were at least that many others."

"You were there?" He asked in a deeper more accusatory tone, she didn't falter.

"What? Everyone's worried about ya, 'specially yer wife, what d'ya want me to do, say no when they ask me to make sure you're ok?" He squinted slightly at her but understood what she meant.

"Doesn't feel nice does it dad…" Jessie said popping her head out of her room looking at her father.

"Ya stay out'a this cub!" He said firmly, she gave him a smart ass look before retreating back into her room knowing she'd won that non-discussion and made her point.
