The next day, Amethyst was aboard a Vale Airship, heading toward Beacon along with many other people who will become her fellow students. The precedent night, after Professor Ozpin freed both Ruby and her, she dashed back into the forest, not caring that it was the night and went directly toward Simba's den. Her big Golden friend had welcomed her warmly despise his surprise at seeing her so soon and with enthusiasm she told him about what happened and to say that Simba was shocked was understandable.
While he was happy for her to be allowed to join Beacon, he was also a bit sad because she won't time for him anymore. But Amethyst had reassured him that she will always have time for him because he was her best friend. However, he made her promise him that if she was in great danger, she would call for him and for that he gave her something that looked like a hunting horn.
Amethyst promised and kept the horn with her before saying her goodbyes to her friend who had embraced her with a bit of sadness. She too was a bit sad to be separated from him for who-know-how long but she had too. Going to Beacon had always been her dream and Simba knew it, that's why he let her go despise his reluctance.
A few tears escaped her eyes at the sad look her friend harbored and she weeped them away with a finger. Then she heard a couple of voices echoing behind her and she turned around so see Ruby Rose, the girl from yesterday, being hugged by a tall, fair-skinned young woman with lilac eyes and bright golden hair. The stranger wore a tan jacket that bares her midriff, with golden brown piping and short, puffy sleeves with black cuffs that feature two gold buttons. Underneath all of this, we could see a low cut yellow crop top with her emblem on the left breast in black.
In addtion, she also wore a brown belt covered by a pleated brown piece of material reaching from hip to hip around the back of her waist (where we could see her emblem emblazoned on its right-most pleat in gold) . Underneath it, was a long, white, asymmetrical piece of material reaching to her knee on the right side, as well as a pair of tight black spandex compression shorts that reach her upper thighs. Amethyst also saw that the stranger also had a pair of brown, knee-high boots and orange over-the-knee socks, with the right sock pushed down just below the knee.
"Oh, I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me ! This is the best day ever !" the blond shouted with happiness clear in her eyes while Ruby looked in-comfortable "Please strop !" the red teen pleaded her hugger who released her but not without adding "But I'm so proud of you !" "Really Sis… It was nothing..." Ruby replied back softy but it was look enough for Amethyst to her.
"Sis ? They look nothing alike !" the brown haired girl thought to herself as she stared at them "What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees !" The blond said to her 'sister' who replied back strongly "I don't want to be the "bee's knees", okay ? I don't want to be any kind of knees ! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees !"
The blond staid silent for a moment but then she looked at Ruby with a odd look " What's with you ? Aren't you excited ?"
"Of course I'm excited... I just..." Ruby said back softy before pausing to let out a sigh "I got moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything..." she finished with a sad look on her face. Amethyst looked at her with pity before stepping closer and saying gently "But you ARE special Ruby ! Not everyone can took down so many thugs at once like you did !"
" Hey Amethyst !" Ruby waved at her with her childish behavior which the brown haired found reallu cute "So its you the girl with the strange Semblance she told me so much about ! I'm Yang Xiao Long ! Ruby's big sister ! " the blond greeted her with a friendly expression and the brown haired girl smiled back at her as she replied back "Amethyst Aster a pleasure to meet you but sister you said ? Sorry but you look nothing alike..."
"Don't be sorry we get that a lot ! Ruby and I are half-sisters , same father but different mothers..." Yang replied back with a shrug before a grin appeared on her face "So what do you think of dear little sis ? She is pretty cute huh ?~" "YANG !" Ruby shouted in embarrassment as her face was as red as a tomato. Amethyst's own face was red but then she grinned back at the blond before replying back teasingly "Ruby is really cute I must admit but she is too young for me~"
Ruby squeaked as she hidden her face into her hands while Yang laughed with humor before pulling Amethyst closer to her by wrapping a arm around her shoulders "Finally someone with a good sense of humor ! You're definitely a keeper !" Yang said with a smile before the friendly moment was broken by an hologram which comically looked exactly like the blond woman who saved Ruby and Amethyst from Torchwick.
"Hello and Welcome to Beacon !" the hologram greeted the students in a firm tone and Yang asked out-loud "Who's that ?" As if the hologram had heard her, it replied in the same tone "My name is Glynda Goodwitch..." "Oh..." Yang muttered in embarrassment which caused Amethyst to sent her a mischievous smirk just as the hologram started to speak again "You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy ! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it... You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world !"
With that said, the hologram of Glynda disappeared leaving behind surprised people behind. But then Ruby cried out " Oh, wow! Look, you can see Signal from up here !" she, her sister and Amethyst along with many other people looked through the glasses wall at the town below. "I guess home isn't too far after all !"Ruby added with excitement as she looked at her sister who replied back calmly "Beacon's our home, now..."
Amethyst felt a pang of sadness as her heart was telling her that her true home was where her friend Simba was but then she shook her head when she heard Ruby saying to her sister " I wonder who we're gonna meet! I just hope they're better than Vomit Boy... Oh, Yang, gross ! You have puke on your shoe !" to which Yang replied in disgust as she looked at her shoe which was covered with a bit of vomit "Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross !"
"Get-Get away ! Get away from me ! Get away from me ! Get away from me ! Get away from me !" Ruby cried out as she backed away from her sister who was shaking her shoe to get rid of the puke on it. Amethyst shook her head in amusement but then she went back in her own world when her thoughts drifted back to a certain Golden Lion and how alone he must be without her.

Amethyst stepped out of the airships alongside Ruby and Yang and many other students. Among them was a blond boy who instantly rushed out of the ship to head toward the nearest trash-can to vomit. The brown haired girl and her two companions headed down the paved path to the front of the school. Their eyes sparkled in amazement as they took the sight of the Academy and couldn't help but mutter in awe "Wow..." "The view from Vale's got nothing on this " Yang inquired just as Ruby suddenly became really excited as she looked at… the other students ? "Ohmygosh, sis ! That kid's got a collapsible staff ! And she's got a fire sword !"
The red teen tried to approach it but was pulled away by Yang who picked her up by the hood "Easy there, little sister ! They're just weapons !" The blond tried to reason with Ruby but it seemed like the worst thing to say because the red girl instantly replied back " 'Just weapons'? They're an extension of ourselves ! They're a part of us ! Oh, they're so cool !" "Well, why can't you swoon over your own weapon ? Aren't you happy with it ?" Yang asked back in a exasperated tone as she released her grip. Amethyst looked at the Blond with a raise-brow and Yang whispered into her ears "She is a Weapon Lover..." "As I've noticed..." Amethyst muttered back with a grin just caused the blond to grin back at her.
Meanwhile, Rubytransformed her weapon into its scythe form before answering "Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose ! I just really like seeing new ones... It's like meeting new people, but better..." In response at those words, Yang playfully pushed her sister's hood down over her face "Ruby, come on, why don't you go try and make some friends of your own ?"
Ruby took off her hood to respond "But... why would I need friends if I have you ?" Amethyst coughed into her fist as she gave the younger teen an inquisitive raise-brow "You and Amethyst of course !" Ruby added with a sheepish chuckle as she rubbed the back of her head with embarrassment "Nice save Rub~" Amethyst muttered as she grinned at the younger girl who smiled innocently at her until Yang's voice caught their attention "Oh my friends are here ! Gotta go catch up ! 'Kay, see ya, bye !"
Yang then quickly left leaving behind her a dizzy-eyed Ruby and a surprised Amethyst who looked at the younger girl when she asked out-loud "Wait, where are you going ?! Are we supposed to go to our dorms ? Where are our dorms ? Do we have dorms ?" seeing that no one was answering her, Ruby muttered softy "I don't know what I'm doing…" Amethyst was about to comfort her but then her eyes widened as she extended an arm forward "Ruby watch out !" sadly it was too late as the red teen fell backwards into a luggage cart, sending cases flying in the process. Amethyst instantly was at her side and helped her to get up just as another girl approached them with an angry look on her face.
The newcomer was a pale-skinned young woman with pale blue eyes and long white hair pulled back into an off-center ponytail pinned with a silver, icicle-shaped tiara who harbored a scar which was running vertically down her left eye and face. She was wearing a thigh-length strapless dress with a faint color gradation from white to pale blue at the hem as a small piece of black lace sat in the front of her neckline and the hem of the dress was scalloping and stitched to look like snowflakes, with layers of white tulle under the skirt. In addition she wore a bell-sleeved bolero with the same color gradation as her dress from shoulder to wrist, lined in red and with a ruffled collar.
The newcomer also had a small apple pendant on a silver chain and thin, rectangular silver earrings. Her boots were white, wedged heeled, and higher at the back than the front and had a small silver decoration across the top of the foot which were red lined. In addition, a thin white sash was tied around her waist with a pouch attached to the back. Amethyst found the newcomer really gorgeous looking but then she noticed something on her bolero and growled : on the back of it was a Crest she recognized instantly. The Schnee Crest.
"Great ! Just Great ! Of all people on Remnant I have to meet a SCHNEE !" Amethyst thought to herself as she watched the girl starting to scowl Ruby " What are you doing ?!" "Sorry !" the red teen tried to apologize but it only made the pale girl angrier "Sorry ?! Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused ?" Ruby was holding a luggage , a bit scared of the girl's harsh tone "Huh..." "Give me that !" the pale girl growled as she snatched the case from Ruby's hands before opening it to reveal its contents "This is Dust ! Mined and purified from the Schnee Quarry !"
Ruby had a nervous look on her face as she looked back and forth between the annoying girl and this 'Dust' she had "What are you, brain-dead ?" The possibly Schnee girl asked her harshly as she held out a vial of red Dust before shutting the case "Dust! Fire, water, lightning, energy !" "I… I know..." Ruby tried to say as she started coughing from the Dust as it poured into her face "Are you even listening to me ? Is any of this sinking in ? What do you have to say for yourself ?!" the pale girl asked sternly Ruby still shaking the vial.
Seeing that Ruby was about to sneeze, Amethyst swiftly putted a finger under her nose stopping from doing so before glaring dagger at the pale girl. Then Amethyst swapped the vial away , making it flying to who-know where while snarling in anger "Hey back off will you ?! Its not Ruby's fault if you leave your crap behind in the open ! I will say it once : take your anger away from my friend or I will take all your vials before tossing them over the cliff along with you!"
The pale girl, at first shocked, suddenly growled in anger as she glared at Amethyst "How dare you talk to me like that ?!" " I do whatever I want as the only thing I see before me is an annoying brat of a princess !" Amethyst snarled back as the two of them were now glaring daggers at each other and Ruby could swear she saw some thunders passing between their eyes.
"I don't understand how you were allowed to attend Beacon with such a rude attitude !" The pale girl grumbled to Amethyst ,who growled back at her defiantly, before looking at Ruby " And aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon ?" The red teen was about to answer but the pale girl then added "This isn't your ordinary combat school ! It's not just sparring and practice, you know ! We're here to fight monsters, so... watch where you're going !"
"Hey she excused herself can't you accept it you annoying little brat !" Amethyst hissed in anger and the pale girl looked back at her with fury clear in her eyes "Don't you know who you are talking too ?!" " I don't care who you are because you're nothing but a ignorant little bit-" Amethyst began to answer in a hostile tone when another feminine voice stopped her "Its Heiress actually..." Ruby, Amethyst and the pale girl turned their heads to see a fair-skinned young woman with wavy black hair and amber eyes approaching them with the vial Amethyst pushed away earlier in her hand.
She had a black, buttoned vest with coattails and a single silver button on the front. Underneath, was a white, sleeveless, high necked, crop undershirt and white shorts with a zipper on the front of each leg. In addition she got black low-heeled boots and full stockings with a color gradation of black to purple at her ankles. Her emblem was visible on the outside of both thighs just below her shorts in white and on her left arm was a black detached sleeve with a silver cuff around her bicep, and black ribbons were wrapped around both forearms. A small, loose, black scarf was seen around her neck, and a gray magnetic backpack was strapped to her back, hidden by her hair. A black ribbon was placed on top of her head.
"Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world…" The black haired newcomer began to explain in a monotone tone which caused 'Weiss' to smiled smugly as she inquired arrogantly "Finally ! Some recognition !" Amethyst then added something that caused her to lost this smile " The same company who love to treat Faunus like slaves for their stupid mines..." Weiss glared at her and was about to retort when the black haired girl added still calm " … and who is also infamous for its questionable business partners..."
Ruby chuckled as Weiss was getting angrier "Wha- How dare- The nerve of... Ugh !" she grumbled as she walked right in the black-haired girl's face before taking the vial from her hand and storming away, fuming. Amethyst was looking at her retreating form with amusement before looking back at the newcomer who was beginning to walk away "Thank you for the help…" the black haired girl turned her head to look at her " It was nothing..." then she left.
Amethyst watched her go but then she noticed something on the ground : it was a book… Not any book, 'Ninjas of Love'. The brown haired girl picked it up just as behind her Ruby fell on her knees muttering to herself "Welcome to Beacon…" Amethyst glanced at her before giving her a soft smile "Ruby do you mind if I go after this girl ? She forgot her book..." "Sure go ahead I will catch you up later..." the red teen nodded with a sad smile and Amethyst gave her a little pat on the head before rushing after the black haired girl from earlier.
She found her near a large tree looking around with a hint of panic "Hey !" Amethyst called her and the black haired girl turned around to face her. "Are you looking for this ?" Amethyst said as she showed her the book and she saw the dark haired girl's amber eyes widened at the sight of the book but she quickly shook her head to get rid of her surprise to approach her. She stopped in front of Amethyst before swiftly taking back her book "Thank you..." the manner it was said sounded like she was on the defensive "It was nothing and between us I like 'Ninjas of Love' too~"
Amethyst winked the last part and the dark haired girl seemed to relax a bit. "My name's Amethyst Aster… you ?" the black haired girl looked at her for a moment but then shook her extended hand "Blake… Blake Belladonna"
"Its a pleasure to meet you Blake… Hummm… I hope we can be friends ?" Amethyst said in a calm tone and Blake observed her for a moment before answering as a tiny smile appeared on her face "Sure… why not ? You are not hyperactive like this red girl from earlier..." Amethyst chuckled a bit as she knew who Blake was referring. "Ruby is nice and all but I like the calm from time to time…" "I agree… So you like 'Ninjas of Love' ?" Blake asked her in a friendlier tone than earlier.
"I love all kinds of books but 'Ninjas of Love' is among my favorites !" Amethyst replied back as the two of them were walking away from the tree to who-know-where. "Really ? What are the others ?" Blake asked her in interest, her amber eyes sparkling "Hmmmm among them… the novels of Tolkien and those of CS Lewis…" Amethyst responded after a moment of silence. Blake blinked before saying "Yes they are quite enjoyable… any other trilogies ?" The two of them talked about their mutual interests in books for a long time after this question was asked.

Amethyst was siting at the right side of Blake as the two of them were now in a gigantic auditorium, filled with many people. Blake had accepted to let her companion seat with her as the two of them seemed to like each other but suddenly, as they waited, Amethyst heard the familiar voice of Yang who was waving and shouting "Ruby ! Over here ! I saved you a spot !" Soon after, Amethyst saw Ruby sitting next to her sister and the two talked until Weiss Schnee appeared next to them with a glare. At the sight of the pale girl, Amethyst growled and was about to confront the Schnee (again) but then she felt something on her shoulder and she turned her head to see it was Blake who shook her head as her amber eyes looked at her.
Sighing, Amethyst had no choice but to seat back trying her best to ignore the annoying heiress who was still standing near Yang and Ruby when Professor Ozpin readied his microphone with Professor Glynda at his side. Then he started his speech " I'll... keep this brief...You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people... But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction..." at those words, people began to whisper with each other and Amethyst shared a frown with Blake before shrugging.
"You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far... It is up to you to take the first step !" Ozpin added before leaving the stage. Glynda Goodwitch then stepped closer to talk " You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins ! Be ready ! You are dismissed..."
As the students left the auditorium, Amethyst walked side by side with Blake just as far behind them, Weiss putted a hand on her face in exasperation thanks to the blond guy next to her. Amethyst and Blake headed toward their next destination : the Ballroom.

Students was splayed out in sleeping bags as they were enduring their first night at Beacon. Blake was leaning against a wall reading her favorite book with Amethyst doing the same at her in front of her. A candle was lit between them so they could see better. However the brown haired girl quickly pulled herself away from her book when she heard two familiar voices talking nearby and she looked up to see Ruby throwing a pillow at her older sister "Shut up ! I didn't get to take my friends with me to school ! It's weird not knowing anyone here !" the red teen remarked strongly (but also sadly) to her sister who was laughing.
" What about Jaune ? He's... nice! Oh and what about Amethyst ?! There you go! Plus two friends ! That's a hundred percent increase !" Yang inquired to her sibling who turned on her back responding "Amethyst ? Yes she is friendly… but Pretty sure Weiss counts as a negative friend…Back to one..." "There's no such things as negative friends! You just made two friends and one enemy !" Yang replied back before being hit in the face by another pillow which surprisingly looked like a dog.
Amethyst sighed and went back to her book, 'The Hobbit', when suddenly she heard Ruby's voice asking loudly "Wait ! What're you doing ?!" and she glanced up to see that the two siblings coming closer with Ruby struggling to escape Yang's grip as the blond was literally dragging her. Blake must have noticed it too because she also looked over her book. She sent a brief glance at Amethyst who shrugged before Yang started to talk in a sweet tone to the dark haired girl "Hel-looooo ! I believe you two may know each other ?"
"Aren't you... that girl from earlier ? The one being scowled by the Schnee Heiress ?" Blake asked Ruby with disinterest clear in her tone but she tried to hide it as much as possible. "Uh, yeah! My name's R-" but Ruby stopped talking when Blake talked again "I know Amethyst told me..." Amethyst blinked before looked at the black haired girl "I did ?" "Well you mentioned her but it still count..." Blake replied back with a shrug before going back to her book. Amethyst was about to follow her example when Yang chose this moment to start another conversation with Blake "So... What's your name ?" the dark haired girl sighed at being distracted from her book before answering "Blake..."
" Well, Blake, I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister ! I like your bow !" Yang inquired in an attempt to be nice and Amethyst looked at her with a 'Are you serious ?' expression on her face "Thanks..." Blake replied softy but Amethyst could detect the irritation in it "It goes great with your... pajamas !" Yang's sentence caused Amethyst to slap her face with her hand muttering to herself "I'm surrounded by idiots..." Blake glanced at her and the brown haired girl quickly added "You don't count as one Blake..."
The dark haired girl nodded at her and Amethyst then looked over at the two sister before saying gently "Girls do you mind leaving us alone so we could read our books in peace please ?" Blake sent her a grateful glance just as Yang muttered to her younger sister "this girl's a lost cause..." but Ruby ignored it to look at the book, Blake was holding "What's it about ?" Blake blinked in surprise "Huh ?" "Your book… Does it have a name ?" Ruby asked more clearly.
Amethyst sent a gentle smile at the dark haired girl who sighed "Well... i-it's about a man with two souls, each fighting for control over his body..." at those words, Yang muttered in a sarcastic tone "Oh, yeah... That's real lovely !" Amethyst sent the blond a glare but then listened when Ruby spoke again "I love books... Yang used to read to me every night before bed... Stories of heroes and monsters... They're one of the reasons I want to be a Huntress !"
This explanation caused Blake to laugh a little before asking "And why is that ? Hoping you'll live happily ever after ?" "Well, I'm hoping we all will... As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books... Someone who fought for what was right, and protected people who couldn't protect themselves !" Ruby replied back with enthusiasm and determination. A soft smile appeared on Blake's face as she commented "That's... very ambitious for a child..." but then it turned into a frown as she added "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale..."
"Well, that's why we're here ! To make it better !" was Ruby's reply before she was hugged by Yang "Oh, I am so proud of my baby sister !" Ruby was kicking out to escape her sister's forced hug "Cut it out !" Amethyst laughed at the scene and beside her, Blake was equally laughed albeit slightly "Well, Ruby, Yang, it's a pleasure to ha-" the dark haired girl began to say when someone stormed to them in her own pajamas.
Amethyst groaned in annoyance when WEISS SCHNEE of all people advanced toward them before starting to yell in anger "What in the world is going on over here?! Don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep ?" then they saw each other and groaned "Oh not you again !" Yang, Weiss and Amethyst said at the same time. "Shh! Guys, she's right! People are trying to sleep !" Ruby inquired to them , defending Weiss who instantly turned around to face her "Oh, now you're on my side !" to which Ruby defended herself by replying back "I was always on your side !"
"Yeah, what's your problem with my sister? She's only trying to be nice !" Yang said in defense of her sister and Weiss replied in an arrogant tone "She's a hazard to my health !" "Funny Its exactly what I'm thinking about when I saw you~" Amethyst cooed nonchalantly from her place as she tried to pull out an innocent face. Yang and Ruby giggled while Weiss was looking at her with rage. The Heiress was about to retort but she didn't have the time when Blake reached out for the candle before blowing it out.
"Thank you Blake..." Amethyst whispered softy to the dark haired girl and she could her humming in response just as she heard footsteps heading away. Sighing, Amethyst then climbed in her sleeping bags but before falling asleep, she whispered softy "Goodnight Simba..." unaware that Blake had heard her.
At the same time, in the forest, Simba was curling around himself and was about to fall asleep when he looked at the outside whispering softy "Goodnight Amethyst… I hope to see you again soon…" then he putted his large head on his forepaws before closing his eyes, falling asleep.
