Hey everyone! I'm back with the last chapter of this fic for now. I'm sorry this chapter took so long to get out, but I've been extremely busy with work and starting school again this passed month. After this chapter I'll work on my Pokemon and Fairy Tail fics before I get back to this one. This chapter will pick up where the previous one left off in the manga's storyline, and will really get this arc started. I'm also glad that you all seemed to enjoy last chapter and Chelsea being spared.

P.S. I know this is kinda out of nowhere, but after playing through Injustice 2 and seeing Harley Quinn becoming a hero that fights alongside Batman, I've had a sudden, strong urge to write a short story set in the Batman Arkham video game universe, with some ties and references to the Batman animated series. The story would be set after the Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC and would have a Batman x Harley Quinn romance, with a second mystery girl possibly being thrown into the mix as well, and would end with Harley Quinn becoming a hero that fights with Batman and the rest of his team. I don't know, what do you guys think? Would you all like to see something like that? It wouldn't be a very long story, a few chapters at most. But I think it would be really fun to write, I created a poll on my profile so let me know what you all think. And if you have any questions, or want to know more, about this possible story feel free to PM me.

Well that's all I wanted to say, so let's get to the fic!

(The Way of Peace's Stronghold: Kyoroku)

"Oh man..." Wave muttered, releasing a light sigh as he messed with his tie. Like the rest of the Jaegers present, Wave was dressed in formal attire. "I knew this way going to happen. I just get so anxious when I'm in clothes like this." Finally getting his tie just right, Wave looked to see Kurome standing by herself several feet away. She was staring down at the floor with a dejected look on her face, appearing to be in deep thought. "She hasn't really been the same since our last mission. I guess general's dying hit her harder than I thought...especially since that bastard Honest blamed Kurome for her death." Wave watched as Kurome began to fidget slightly and grip the fabric of her blood red dress. "I guess I'll keep an eye on her...I don't need her doing something irrational because she's upset."

"You said it, I feel completely out of place wearing an outfit like this." Seryu said in a frustrated tone, as she gestured to the flowing green dress she was wearing. "I wish we didn't have to go to this stupid party." A short growl escaped Seryu's throat, as she tightly balled her metallic fists. "I'd much rather be out patrolling for those Night Raid assassins. They need to pay for their crimes...all of them."

"Please try and relax Seryu-san. We're here to unwind and enjoy ourselves." Run said with a smile, before shoving his hands into his pockets. "You look very good in that dress, I'm sure you'll get plenty of attention during the party."

"Thank you for the compliment Run, but I'm simply not in the mood for a party right now." Seryu said with a huff, as she tugged at the frills of her dress. "And if something comes up while I'm wearing this stupid thing, I won't be able to effectively dish out justice!"

"Would you all quite your whining!" A booming voice said from the other side of the room. Turning around, the Jaegers were surprised to see their new leader walk into the room. General Budo was a large, imposing man with short spikey blonde hair. He was very tall and muscular, which made him look slightly awkward in his formal attire, the fabric being strained by his muscles. "I don't want to be here anymore than you guys do! I was rushed here from my previous post after General Esdeath passed away...and as much as I dislike that bastard Honest I cannot disobey a direct order from him...also I couldn't sit around and let Esdeath's men go leaderless. I need to keep my eye on you guys and make sure you develop into the excellent soldiers Esdeath thought you could be."

"It seems that you held General Esdeath in high regards." Run said with a smile, walking up next to Budo, the general standing almost a head taller than him.

"I wouldn't say that..." Budo said, as he crossed his arms over his chest, straining the fabric of his suit coat even further. "We did have a mutual respect for each other...but we weren't friends or anything...I will however admit that I'm saddened to see that crazy bitch go...she was one hell of a soldier." Releasing a light sigh, Budo turned his back to his new men. "What Run said is true, we're here to have fun, so try and enjoy yourselves. But remember to remain vigilante, I don't want to see any slip ups or careless mistakes."

(Same Time: Rooftop Just Outside Kyoroku)

"So that place is our target?" Akame asked, adjusting her red scarf just as a cold wind blew in. "The home of Bolic, the religious leader's aide."

"That has is fucking huge..." Leone muttered in a frustrated tone, as she tightly balled her fists. "It was probably all financed illegally...the bastard."

"Well we've memorized the premises' layout." Mine added, checking to make sure Pumpkin was ready for the mission. "So we shouldn't run into too many problems."

"Boss, I had one thing I wanted to ask before we get going." Tatsumi said, as he walked up next to Najenda.

"What is it Tatsumi?" Najenda said, quirking an eyebrow. "Can't it wait until the mission is over?"

"I guess..." Tatsumi muttered, as he turned his head away from Najenda, his cheeks tinted pink. "I was just wondering where Esdeath was. I haven't seen her since I woke up."

"Oh that...you don't have to worry about her Tatsumi." Najenda said, a small smile spreading across her face as she stroked her chin. "Esdeath is back at headquarters negotiating with the higher ups, apparently she also wanted to check up on Bols and ensure that he was treated well...and if what she told me is true, we shouldn't have to worry about the empire coming to search for her anymore."

"Really..." Tatsumi said in a surprised tone, as his eyes widened slightly. "That's great news...and I'm happy to hear that Bols is still alive."

"You'll be able to see Esdeath again once we're finished with this mission, you can talk with her then." Najenda said, earning a nod from Tatsumi. "Now, I've received intel that the Jaegers have returned from the capital and that they are now in this city." Najenda said, as she crossed her arms over her chest. "There's no need to rush things. Just act according to our plans and bring the target down." Releasing a light sigh, Najenda turned to address her assassins. "Alright, remember that Akame, Leone, and Lubbock will be working solo during this mission. At the same time Tatsumi, Mine, and Sayo will form a team and head to their designated position. The three of you working by yourself...be careful and be ready for anything." Seeing all her men nod in acknowledgement, Najenda turned back around to gaze at the city sprawled out before her. "Now don't let all our recent efforts and hard work be in vain! Get out there and get the job done!"

"Roger that!" All the Night Raid assassins exclaimed simultaneously, as they all took off to complete their mission.

(Back within The Way of Peace's Stronghold)

"I must say...when I had requested reinforcements from the minister I never dreamed I'd be sent one of the empire's strongest General Budo and famous Jaegers." Bolic said with a smirk, patting the head of one of the several scantly clad women that surrounded him. "Your presence has reassured me greatly! Only my most loyal and faithful followers have been invited to this party. So, please relax and enjoy yourselves." As Bolic gazed at Budo and the Jaegers standing before him, a slight disappointment flashed through his eyes. "Although I must say, I'm quite saddened that General Esdeath couldn't join us...her untimely death is quite...unfortunate."

"We were hoping to keep that information under wraps, but it seems that your information network is quite skilled." Budo said in an annoyed tone, as he shot Bolic a nasty look. "But that is not what's important, the minister ordered us to protect you...we'll need to borrow several rooms for lodging."

"Heh heh..." Bolic chuckled, gesturing to the dozens of half-naked girls scattered around the room. "I'm sure you'll find my home quite...entertaining."

"I have no interest in such trivial things, so don't try and tempt me with your little harem. We're here because we have a job to do." Budo said, as he blatantly ignored a busty girl that had sauntered up to him, pressing her large breasts against his arm. "However..." Budo's gaze darkened as he suddenly pointed towards the ceiling. "I would appreciate if the bastards watching us from up above got their asses down here. Their stares are starting to irritate me."

"Oho, you are good...I wouldn't expect anything less from the man Esdeath thought highly of." Bolic said with a smirk, snapping his fingers. Moments later, several figures dropped down behind him. "The empire gave me these fine specimens to help control the cult. They're the embodiments of violence...the Four Rakshasas Demons of the Temple of the Imperial Fist!"

The four figures stepped forward, revealing fierce looking warriors. One was a large man with a muscular build, wearing shorts similar to that of a Muay Thai Combatant. He had strange markings around the top of his head which resembled stitches. His hair was long and braided into two long strands at the bottom, with long bangs framing each side his face. His eyes were abnormal, with fully black sclera. There were also dark markings or tattoos visible on his face and body. He also wore armor plating on his forearms. The second Rakshasas was a short girl with a petite build. Her hair was blonde and styled in pigtails decorated with horseshoes that also appeared to serve as weights. She had green eyes and her skin was considerably tanned. She wore long leggings and a shirt, which she left open, displaying a bikini top. Like the previous Rakshasa Demon, she had armored plating on her forearms. The third was another large man with a heavily muscled build. He had a long braided hairstyle, with hair sticking far out at the sides, and bald at the top of his head. He also had a long bushy beard and mustache, bushy eyebrows, and dark prominent circles around his eyes. He wore armor plating on his forearms and a large Iron pauldron on his left shoulder. The final Rakshasas Demon was a petite black-haired woman who wore clothes similar to those of a shrine maidens, with a loose kimono shirt exposing her cleavage held by a single breast guard on her right breast. Her black hair was tied up in the back and she had a scar on her face along the bridge of her nose. Like her fellow Demons, she also wore armor plating on her forearms.

"My, quite the ensemble you've got there..." Budo said with a smirk, as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I had received a report that the Four Rakshasas weren't in the capital, so this is where they've been."

"Now that you and your Jaegers are here general..." Bolic said with a menacing grin, leaning forward in his seat. "I can finally put these demons on the offensive instead of using them as my personal bodyguards."

"Hold on a god damn second!" Seryu suddenly exclaimed, as she slammed her foot onto the ground, her eyes brimming with anger. "There's a chance Night Raid has infiltrated this city. I vowed to take those bastards down, I won't let you guys take any chances away from me...besides none of your so called 'Demons' even have teigus, you can't seriously expect them to handle Night Raid's assassins." However, Seryu eyes widened in fear when she felt a hand wrap around her neck. Slowly turning her head, Seryu was shocked to see that the Rakshasas with marking on top of his head had snuck behind her almost instantly, without her even noticing his movements. Seryu audibly gulped, as she felt the Demon's fingers slightly dig into her throat.

"Heheh, you don't have to worry about that." The Demon said with a smirk, leaning in closer to whisper into Seryu's ear. His hot breath on her skin sending fearful chills down her spine. "We've take down several teigu users without our bare hands. Just. Like. This." With a dark chuckle, the demon released his hold on Seryu's neck, causing her to exhale in relief. "They never saw us coming." Seeing the fierce glare Seryu was giving him, a twisted smile formed on the Demon's face as he licked his lips. "Heh heh...I can tell you've got a lot of drive and you've got a personal grudge to settle, but I suggest you try and mind your temper. Oh, and the name's Ibara...pleasure to make your acquaintance."

"Ignore Ibara, he can be a little...odd. But he is right about one thing. We've managed to confiscate and deliver five teigu to the minister of state." The dark-haired woman added with a smile, as she rested her hands on her hips. "The name's Suzuka by the way."

"No matter how powerful the teigu is, the people who wield them are still flesh and blood." The massive, bearded man said with a grin, crossing his arms over his chest. "And my is Shuten."

"Guess I'm last up." The blonde, tanned woman said with a chuckle, as he winked at the Jaegers. "Shuten and Suzuka are totally right, you don't have to worry about us. No matter the circumstances, as longer as our opponent is human we'll have a shot a winning...you can call me Mez by the way."

"The Four Rakshasas are the minister of state's retained executioners." Bolic said with a smirk, petting the head of the girl that had cozied up next to him. "Their claims are all true, which means their skills are indisputable."

"Heh heh, you heard the man." Ibara said with a twisted smile, as he got uncomfortably close to Seryu, causing her to glare at him in disgust. "Now why don't you all relax and get some drinks-" Ibara was cut off mid-sentence when he felt an iron grip on his right shoulder. Turning around, Ibara was shocked to see that Budo had managed to sneak up behind him. Budo had an annoyed look on his face, as he tightened his grip on Ibara's shoulder, causing him to hiss in pain.

"You punks may have a solid reputation..." Budo started, his eyes narrowing dangerously as electricity began to crackle off his arms. "But you shouldn't be letting your guard down either." Ibara fought back a pained grunt when he felt small shocks begin to course through his body. "And I may not have known these guys very long, but I'd appreciate it if you didn't harass my men."

"Ooooh, you're very impressive...just as I'd expect from you General Budo." Ibara said with a smirk, as he turned to look at the massive man. "I think I may have fallen for you."

"Sorry buddy but I don't swing that way." Budo said in revulsion, shoving Ibara away from both him and Seryu, which caused the Demon to cackle maniacally. "If these freaks are here...why the hell were we called here as well? Curse that bastard minister..." A low growl rumbled in Budo's throat, as he tightly balled his fists. "This stupid damn cult must be important to his schemes. I'll give him a piece of my damn mind once this mission is over."

"Man, I'm glad that's over." Wave said, as he walked up next to Kurome and let out a sigh of relief. However, when Wave received no reply, he turned his head and saw that Kurome was panting slightly and that she looked exhausted. Feeling concerned for his teammate, Wave placed a comforting hand on Kurome's shoulder. "Oi, you feeling okay Kurome?"

"Do I...really look that terrible?" Kurome asked in a weak voice, pressing a hand to her face as she stared up at Wave, her eyes half-lidded as if she were about to pass out at any moment.

"Yeah..." Wave replied with a small smile, as he gave Kurome's shoulder a gentle squeeze. "Pretty bad in fact. You sure you should be here and not resting?"

"Hmmm..." Kurome hummed, slapping her cheeks a few times, which caused her to perk up slightly. "Thanks for worrying about me Wave, but I really am fine." Doing a quick spin, causing her dress to flutter, Kurome stepped away from Wave. "I'm going to get something to eat...you should probably relax and get some food too...I don't need a chaperone all night."

"Kurome..." Wave thought, as he watched the dark-haired Jaeger walk away with a concerned look in his eyes, remembering what had transpired only a few days earlier.

(Four Days Earlier: Romary Town a Few Hours After Night Raid's Battle Against the Jaegers)

"God damn it!" Wave exclaimed, clutching Kurome's unconscious body close to his chest, doing his best to shield her from the pouring rain. "If only we'd gotten here a little sooner!" Chocking back a sob, tears began to fall from Wave's eyes. "Now Bols and the general are both missing! How the hell am I supposed to tell his poor wife and child!?"

"It's not your fault Wave." Run said, as he placed a hand on Wave's shoulder. "You weren't even with Kurome's team. We were off chasing a completely different target. No one will blame you for what happened. I understand what you're feeling right now, but you must remain calm!"

"YOU UNDERSTAND! Don't say it like it's easy!" Wave roared, swiftly turning around to fiercely glare at Run. "If only I had realized sooner that we were chasing a distraction, maybe we could have gotten back in time to help Kurome and the others! Maybe we could have saved them!"

"We can't be concerned about 'maybes' or 'what ifs' Wave." Run said, as he stepped away from Wave. "And I don't think it's easy at all...but I do know exactly what you're going through right now, Wave..." Pausing for a moment, Wave clutched a hand over his heart. "With my entire being..."

"Run...?" Wave said in a surprised tone, his eyes widening slightly. "I'm sorry...I-"

"Anyways, we really should get Kurome-san inside, she'll get sick if we don't." Run said, as he gestured towards a nearby building. "After that we'll discuss our next course of action."

Several hours later, Wave and Run had rented a room in a nearby inn, quickly putting Kurome to bed and making sure she warmed up. After getting a doctor to exam her, both Jaegers sat beside Kurome's bed, making sure her condition didn't worsen. Eventually the door to the room opened, both Run and Wave turned around to see Seryu closing the door behind her.

"Did you find any leads about the general or Bols' whereabouts?" Run asked, standing up from his seat. "Anything at all will help, because we have nothing to go on right now."

"Well then we've still got nothing." Seryu replied in a frustrated tone, as she slowly shook her head. "I searched for hours, but I didn't come up with anything. It's like they both completely vanished without a trace."

"You think that maybe they were captured?" Wave pondered, which caused Seryu to scoff at him. A frown forming on his face, Wave crossed his arms over his chest. "What? It's just a thought."

"There's no way they could have captured General Esdeath without leaving some traces behind, the same goes for Bols. They both would have put up a fight, leaving behind some type of clues." Seryu said, as she rested her hands on her hips. Deciding it wasn't a good idea to start bickering over anything right now, Seryu turned her attention to Kurome. "How is she?"

"She's fast asleep." Run replied, gazing down at Kurome's sleeping face. "The doctor said she's made it through the worst of it, but that she'll need to be careful the next few days not to overexert herself."

"I see." Seryu muttered, as she walked over to Kurome's bed. "Anyways, I just received an urgent message from the minister. As soon as Kurome has recovered we need to return to the capital. We're supposedly being sent on a special assignment."

"Did he mention what-"

"Up we go!" Wave was cut off when Kurome suddenly sat upright in her bed. The other three Jaegers simply stared at Kurome in shock as she did a few stretches, looking perfectly fine out of nowhere. "HAH! After that nap, I feel fantastic! I've made a complete recovery!"

"T-That can't be right." Wave stammered, still shocked to see his teammate making a seemingly miraculous recovery so quickly. "Most of your vitals took a serious beating, remember?"

"Kurome..." Seryu said, taking the empty seat next to the bed and leaning towards the dark-haired girl. "The general and Bols are missing, do you have any idea what might have happened to them?"

"I..." Kurome said quietly, as she remembered what had transpired during her fight against Night Raid. "I'll tell you all once we get back to the capital...I...need to make a report directly the minister."

"Huh? Why can't you tell us now?" Seryu asked, placing her hands onto the bed. When Seryu received no reply, she became annoyed and shot up from her seat. "HEY! Why can't you tell us now Kurome?! We're teammates aren't we!? If you have info on the general or Bols' whereabouts we need to know!"

"I...I just can't tell you right now..." Kurome muttered, as she hung her head. "Please just wait until we get back to the capital."

"Again, why the-"

"Seryu, that's enough." Run said, placing his hand on Seryu's shoulder and leading her away from Kurome. "She doesn't want to tell us now, just let it go until we get back. We'll all find out then."

"Fine." Seryu grumbled, as she threw the door to the room open. "I want to be out of here in thirty minutes, so let's all get ready." Run sighed heavily, before looking back at Wave and Kurome, then with a wave he exited the room.

"Don't worry about Seryu, she's just a little frustrated right now." Wave said with a chuckle, rubbing the back of his head. Looking back at Kurome, Wave frowned when he saw that she was still hanging her head, a sad look on her face. Releasing a light sigh, Wave stood up from his seat. Not knowing what else to do, Wave gently patted Kurome on the head, which caused her to look up at him. "I'm gonna go pack my things, you probably should too..." Seeing Kurome nod her head, Wave smiled and ruffled her hair. "Good, and take it easy, I don't want you overworking yourself and getting hurt." Softly closing the door behind him, Wave quickly crossed the hall into his own room and began to organize his pack. "Kurome really surprised me back there...she was stabbed in places that would have left anyone else dead." Wave's eyes suddenly lit up when he spotted a metallic item in his bag. "OH! This is canned rushfish! I haven't gotten around to eating this yet...hey, I know what to do...this stuff is jam-packed with nutrients, so I'll give it to Kurome."

With a grin, Wave slung his pack over his shoulder and slipped the can of rushfish into his pocket. Wave hummed to himself as he walked back over to Kurome's room. Knocking on the door, Wave for Kurome to answer. But after several moments Wave received no reply, not hearing any sounds in the room at all.

"Hey! Kuroooome!" Wave called out, as he knocked on Kurome's door a little more forcefully. But once again he didn't hear anything in response. "Wait a second...did she fall back asleep?" Wave jumped slightly when he heard crash come from within the room. Knowing it was rude to barge into a girl's room, Wave burst threw the door anyways. His eyes widened in shock when he spotted Kurome across the room, collapsed onto the floor. In an instant Wave rushed over to Kurome's side and kneeled down next to her. "Hey, Kurome! Keep yourself together!"

"I...I'm okay..." Kurome said weakly, panting softly as she tried to stand back up, but she was held down by Wave. "I'm serious...I'm fine."

"Just hold a second, I'll got the others-" Wave prepared to stand up, but was stopped when he felt something tug on the back of his jacket. Looking back he saw that it was Kurome that had stopped him, her eyes full of worry.

"Please wait..." Kurome said in a quiet voice, as she pulled Wave closer, her hands trembling slightly. "When people in the assassination unit cannot fight any longer...they're disposed of." Wave's eyes widened in shock when Kurome said this." If I was kicked out of the Jaegers...and returned to the capital...that'd be the end for me..."

"You'll be fine!" Wave exclaimed, grabbing ahold of Kurome's shoulders. "Everyone else will understand and protect you!"

"That's not enough..." Kurome said, as she gently brushed off Wave's hands. "I have to keep on fighting no matter what. I don't want to disposed of. I wasn't born to die like that. If I have to die...it has to be in battle...like my comrades before me."

"Kurome..." Wave breathed out, tightly balling his fists.

"I really am fine now, Wave." Kurome said with a small smile, as she got back onto her feet. "I'm sorry for worrying you like that. Once my wounds have healed completely I'll be back to my old self."

"You sound like you're trying to convince yourself..." Wave thought, watching Kurome begin to pack her things. "I knew...her wounds are more serious that I thought...and she hasn't replaced the corpses for Yatsufusa..." Wave spared Kurome one more glance before adjusting his scarf and exiting the room. "I've really only served in small roles up until now...now I'll need to cover Kurome's part too!"

(End Flash Back: Streets of Kyoroku)

"Man we really are far away from the capital..." Tatsumi mused, as he glanced at the packed streets around him. "I haven't seen a single wanted poster for any of us."

"Keep your voice down you idiot." Sayo hissed, pinching Tatsumi's arm, which caused him to jump slightly. "What if someone heard you? That'd sound really suspicious."

"Would you two knock it off?!" Mine growled in an annoyed tone, as she stopped in her tracks, turning to face her two teammates. "You're going to draw unnecessary attention if you keep this up." Seeing both Tatsumi and Sayo nod their heads, Mine released a light sigh and rested her hands on her hips. "Anyways, the Jaegers may put up some posters soon. So we'll need to keep our guards up..." Mine trailed off as she watched Tatsumi ignore her and walk over to a nearby ice cream stall. The pink-haired sniper's brow twitched in irritation, watching Tatsumi pay the stall owner and walk back with three cones in his hands. "OI! Did you not hear what I was just saying!? What do you think you're doing?!"

"And she complained about us drawing attention." Sayo thought, rolling her eyes when she noticed several people staring at them.

"I already know all that." Tatsumi said, as he handed Sayo and Mine their own ice cream cones, much to the pink-haired sniper's surprise. "But remember, you're also the one who taught me that being overly stressed can be dangerous too. The enemy can easily pick up your vibes if your straining yourself too much." Tatsumi suddenly flashed Mine a bight grin, causing a faint blush to dust across her cheeks. "Try to act a little more natural, okay?"

"Even after the stress of our past few missions he's able to keep calm and focus on the next mission..." Mine thought with a small smile, taking the ice cream cone that Tatsumi offered her. "He really has grown so much since he first joined us...it's almost like he's a different person." Chuckling softly, Mine sat down on a nearby box. "Okay I'll admit that you do have a point." Pausing for a moment, Mine took a lick of her ice cream, her eyes immediately lighting up. "Woah! This is really delicious!"

"I know right!" Tatsumi said with a grin, as he sat down next to Mine. "They don't have that flavor back in the capital, but I had a feeling you'd like it!"

"Hmm..." Sayo thought, silently eating her ice cream and observing Tatsumi and Mine's behavior. She couldn't help but blush slightly when she saw Tatsumi playfully wipe some ice cream off Mine's face with his thumb, much to her annoyance, before eating it himself. "They both look so happy right now...I guess they really do love each other."

"It's strange after being in the capital for so long...I'm so used to seeing everyone looking miserable and afraid." Tatsumi thought, as he gazed around the bustling the shopping district they were in. All around the three assassins people were talking happily, laughing, and simply going about their daily lives without a care in the world. "But here everyone seems happier and healthier...is it because of the religion?" Finishing off the rest of his ice cream, Tatsumi released a light sigh and stared up at the clear sky overhead. "I hope we win this war soon..." Looking back down, Tatsumi gazed at Mine, her long pink hair gently blowing the breeze. "Because I want to experience peaceful days like this more often...not just with Mine...but with Akame, Leone, Chelsea, and even Esdeath too, though I think she'd find constant peace boring." Reaching down, Tatsumi gently grabbed ahold of Mine's hand, causing her to jump slightly.

"What's up?" Mine asked, looking up to see Tatsumi softly smiling at her, which caused her cheeks to flush slightly. Receiving no reply from Tatsumi, Mine suddenly felt embarrassed and hopped off the box, dusting off her pink dress. "We really should get going, because we need to get a better feel for this city. Let's head over to the eastern side...that way we can avoid the central area the Jaegers will be guarding."

"We can leave the section closest to the church to Lubbock, he seemed pretty eager to do it." Tatsumi said, as he slid off the box as well, quickly following behind Mine.

"Sounds like a plan to me." Sayo said, finishing up her own ice cream before adjusting the pack that hid Extase and her bow. "Let's get to work then."

(Same Time: With Lubbock)

"Damn, this place is like a freaking maze..." Lubbock said underneath his breath, as he slowly made his way through a large crowd of bustling shoppers. The green-haired assassin paused for a moment to take a sip of water out of his canteen. "The only good thing is that I'll be able to blend in easier with all these people around." Continuing his patrol, Lubbock discretely glanced at the people all around him. "This is perfect, no one here knows my name or face..." A perverted grin suddenly spread across Lubbock's face and his cheeks tinted red in excitement. "I'll get to the bottom of this in no time and earn some extra points with Najenda-san!" Lubbock chuckled to himself as he pictured a naked Najenda 'congratulating' him. "I have to get to her before she falls into Tatsumi's clutches!"

Despite being in a completely new town far from the capital, and having no one knowing his name or face, Lubbock unknowingly had attracted the attention of two figures who were standing on a nearby rooftop. The figures were members of the Four Rakshasas, Mez and Shuten.

"Hey. Shuten." Mez said with a smirk, her eyes following Lubbock through the crowd. "That guy looks like he's paying really close attention to his surroundings, don't you think? I have a gut feeling that he's a troublemaker."

"It's how he's moving." Shuten said in a gruff voice, as he crossed his massive arms over his chest. "He moves with the precision of someone who's been through numerous battles. He's trying his best to hide it, but we can tell."

"Then he's guilty." Mez said with a devious smirk, trailing her tongue up her finger, coating it in her saliva. "We'd better kill him."

"That's not quite right, Mez." Shuten said with a twisted grin, as he cracked his knuckles. "Let's call it liberating his soul."

(That Night: Cemetery on the Outskirts of Kyoroku)

"We've conducted many investigations in this area." A revolutionary army spy explained, leading Akame towards the center of the cemetery. "And through those investigations we've come to the conclusion that somewhere in this cemetery there's an underground tunnel that passes right through Bolic's residence from the church." Akame merely hummed in response, as she focused more on the large leg of meat that she was currently eating. "When you carry out your assassination...I think it would be your best move to position everyone here."

"Once we know where this passage's entrance is..." Akame said, as she paused her eating for a moment. "We'll be able to use it to get to the basement of Bolic's mansion."

"Don't get ahead of yourself, that passage will be difficult to unearth." The spy said, gesturing towards the vast cemetery surrounding them. "Look how massive this place is." When Akame simply hummed again, the revolutionary army spy released a light sigh. "We also must be careful, because there could be booby traps. This isn't something we can-"

"Watch out!" Akame suddenly exclaimed, as she sprang forward and tackled the spy out of the way of a barrage of razor sharp feathers, all of them impaling the ground they had been standing on a moment before. "Feathers?!"

"Seems like my hunch was correct. Who would have guessed I'd find you here Akame?" A voice said from above Akame and the revolutionary army spy. Looking up, Akame saw a blonde-haired man floating in the air several feet away. The feather-coated wings on his back seeming to glow in the moonlight. "My aerial reconnaissance was a success."

"That teigu...it's Mastema!" Akame said, getting back onto her feet and unsheathing Murasame. "Then you must be a Jaeger!" Standing protectively in front of the spy, Akame gestured backs towards a large tree that was several yards away. "Take cover behind that tree, you'll be safe there for now." The spy glanced hesitantly at Jaeger hovering in the air, before nodding and dashing for cover behind the tree.

"Damn it!" The spy grunted, as he came to a skidding stop, pausing for a moment to catch his breath. "I really need to get out of here, but it pisses me off that I can't help Akame-san...I'd only get in her way."

"How thoughtful of you Akame, making sure that man escaped safely." Run said with a smile, giving Akame a slight bow. "It's good to see that you're not the cold, heartless murderer the empire portrays you as."

"I'm your target, so that man doesn't need to be involved in our fight." Akame said, as she slid into a fighting stance, her heels slightly digging into the ground. Pointing Murasame at Run, a determined look spread across Akame's face. "Let's begin, shall we?"

"Oh this might be fun." Run said with a small smile, several feathers levitating off his wings, all of them glowing faintly. With a single gesture, the barrage of knife-like feathers rocketed towards Akame. At first Akame easily managed to dodge the feathers, but eventually they became too difficult to avoid and she was forced to slash them out of the air with her sword.

"I need to draw him lower to the ground." Akame thought, as she slashed three feathers out of the air. Leaping over another pair of feathers, Akame noticed that they were starting to slow down the farther away she got from Run. "That's it! He'll have to come closer if he wants his feathers to be effective!"

"It seems I've miscalculated..." Run thought, watching as Akame effortlessly dodged and weaved through another barrage of his feathers. "There's too much distance between us now, and my feathers are losing most of their force...I'll have to descend a bit..." Bringing himself closer to the ground, Run unleashed another wave of feathers. "Let's see how you handle this..." A satisfied smirk spread across Run's face, as he watched Akame struggle to dodge his feathers, some of them even grazing her arms and legs. However, Run growled in frustration as Akame continued to slash her way through his feathers, none of them scoring a solid hit. "This little minx...I just need to get a little closer and then-" Run stopped mid-thought when he noticed close to the ground he had gotten, floating just several feet above a small mausoleum. "How could I have not noticed...I'm so much lower than when I had started...that girl was purposely dodging my attacks by only a hair. She's trying to make me think I could take her down if I simply got lower to the ground...so that she could lure me into range of her lunge..." A smirk once against spread across Run's face, as he ascended back higher into the air. "Clever girl...but I should expect no less from a professional killer...she's able to make rational decisions even under these circumstances."

"What's he doing?" Akame pondered, as she watched Run rise higher into the air, his attacks stopping completely. "Did he figure me out?"

"What should my next move be?" Run thought, stroking his chin while he racked his brain. "If I close back in and use my trump card I'm sure I could win...but that would mean I'd be within Akame's attack range too, turning this into a teigu battle...if that's the case..." Releasing a light sigh, Run turned his back to Akame and took off flying in the opposite direction. "I'm supposed to be a scout first...I need to try and avoid a teigu battle at all costs...I'll return and let General Budo know that I have proof that Night Raid is in this town."

"So he decided to retreat..." Akame muttered, as she released a light sigh and resheathed Murasame. "He's quite the diplomatic man...well I should start looking for-"

"Heh heh heh." Akame was cut off by the sounds of maniacal cackling coming from behind her. The dark-haired assassin whipped around in an instant, her hand already on her teigu's hilt. Akame's eyes narrowed, spotting a large figure cloaked in shadows approaching her. "An assassin who lets her enemy get away after seeing her? What a blunder! I feel bad for you, so I'll be your new plaything instead..." Akame's eyes widened in shock and surprise when the mysterious figure finally came into view, revealing a familiar face from her past. "Akame-chaaaan."

"I-Ibara! So you're in Kyoroku!" Akame exclaimed, her eyes narrowing dangerously. "I never imagined we'd have to fight the Four Rakshasas until after we killed the prime minister...I was praying they'd be our final battle."

"Heh heh heh...you're a naughty little girl who turned her back on the empire." Ibara said with twisted smile, as he licked his lips. "You deserve a nice, long spanking..." Akame's grit her teeth in frustration, as her grip on Murasame's hilt tightened. However, Akame's frustration was quickly replaced with rage when Ibara tossed something on the ground in front of her. When the object came to a rolling stop at her feet, Akame saw that it was the severed head of the revolutionary army spy who had escaped earlier. "Oh, and I caught this little boy fleeing from the cemetery a few minutes ago...the terrified look in his eyes as I slowly sliced his head off was simply delicious."

"I'll bury you!" Akame roared, racing towards Ibara at an incredible speed. "You'll be nothing but bits when I'm done with you!"

"HAH! I'd like to see you try!" Ibara laughed, as his finger nails elongated and stabbed towards Akame. However, the red-eyed assassin bobbed and weaved through Ibara's attacks, closing the distance between them in the blink of an eye. Spinning on her heel, Akame unsheathed Murasame and slashed at Ibara. However, Ibara's entire body contorted away from Akame's attack in an extremely unnatural way, his stomach seeming to elongated and stretch. "Heh heh heh..." Ibara laughed darkly as needlelike hairs sprouted from pores all over his body, forcing Akame to quickly leap back. Ibara's dark chuckling continued, as Akame came to a skidding stop several feet away. "Heh heh heh...along with our intense training, we of the Four Rakshasas were all raised eating the broth of the Lake Kraken that lived in the mountains behind our temple...which has enabled us to manipulate our bodies at will." Akame watched in disgust as Ibara's arm stretched out as if it were made of rubber. "Which means I can dodge that nasty blade of yours." Akame took a hesitant step back when a maniacal look formed on Ibara's face. "And it means I can do this!"

Akame's eyes widened in surprise as Ibara's arm began to stretch and shoot out towards her, forcing her to go on the defensive. The red-eyed assassin formed and 'X' with her arms to try and shield herself from Ibara's barrage of jabs. Being forced back, Akame hissed in pain as several of Ibara's attacks landed. The attacks cut through her shirt and skirt, leaving numerous small cuts on her body.

"Take this! And this! And that!" Ibara exclaimed, continuing to attack Akame without mercy. "How do you like this, Akame-chan!?"

"Would you...shut the hell up!" Akame yelled, as she slashed at Ibara with Murasame once again. But instead of dodging, Ibara effortlessly caught the demonic blade between his elongated hands, stopping Akame's attack instantly.

"You must not be a very good listener, because I told you we've undergone intense training!" Ibara said with a twisted grin, yanking the teigu from Akame's hands. "Now your teigu is mine!" However, as Ibara prepared to kill Akame with her own blade, a thick ink-like mist began to emanate from the teigu. Moments later an intense burning sensation spread through Ibara's arm, as if it were on fire. "W-What the fuck is up with this sword!?"

Hissing in pain, Ibara dropped Murasame, the ink-like mist flowing off his palm. As Ibara inspected his still-pulsating hand, he felt something land on his shoulders. Looking up, Ibara saw that Akame was sitting on his shoulders, his head in between her thighs. Akame glared fiercely at Ibara, before jerking her thighs in a twisting motion. A sickening snapping sound was heard as Ibara's head turned completely around, his neck looking like a twisted mess.

"GAH!" Ibara gasped in pain, as he watched Akame land behind him, before picking up Murasame. "Were you seriously planning that from the start...letting go of your teigu on purpose?"

"It's what you deserve for calling Murasame nasty. My blade doesn't very much like being insulted." Akame said, her eyes narrowing dangerously. "I knew you would never be compatible." Hearing a throaty growl escape Ibara's throat, Akame knew was about to come. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, Akame slid into a fighting stance and readied Murasame.

"RAAAAAGH! HOW DARE YOU!" Ibara roared, as he twisted his head back into place and mindlessly charged towards Akame. "I'LL ENJOY WATCHING THE LIFE FADING FROM YOUR EYES YOU BITCH!"

However, in the blink of an eye Akame attacked, her blade moving in a blur. Before Ibara even realized what had happened to him, he collapsed to the ground, his entire lower body sliced off from the waist down and his arms cut off from the shoulder down.

"I told you, I'd cut you to pieces." Akame said in a cold tone, flicking Ibara's blood off Murasame's blade, splattering it on the ground in front of him. Looking at Ibara's mutilated body in disgust, Akame sheathed her teigu. "My cursed sword seems to hate you..."

"Heh...you're such a dangerous girl...Akame-chan..." Ibara breathed out in weak voice, as he stared up at the starry night sky. Turning his head, Ibara gazed at Akame, her body perfectly framed against the Moon, making her look like an angel of death. "I...I think I'm in love...heh heh heh"

"Sorry, but I already have someone I love, and a freak like you could never replace him in my heart." Akame said, turning her back to Ibara and walking away. Hissing in pain, Akame placed a hand over one of her wounds. "The Four Rakshasas are truly going to be formidable opponents...there's still three of them left...and the Jaegers on top of that...I just hope that everyone else is okay..."

(Thirty Minutes Earlier: With Lubbock)

"Son of a bitch!" Lubbock thought, as he used Crawstail's wires like a zip-line to pull himself through the empty streets at an incredible speed. Looking back, Lubbock grit his teeth in frustration when he saw two figures, a man and a woman, following close behind him. "These assholes jumped me out of nowhere! How the hell did they figure me out!?"

"That's enough running around!" The female assailant exclaimed, her arm stretching out and catching up to Lubbock in a moment. Before Lubbock even had a chance to react, he felt the girl's hand pierce his back. Gasping in pain, Lubbock coughed up a mouthful of blood before coming crashing to the ground. After tumbling on the ground for several moments Lubbock came to a stop, his body limp and motionless. "Hmmm..." The female assailant let out a sound of disappointment as she walked up to Lubbock and checked his pulse. With a huff and shrug of her shoulders, the female assailant gave up and turned to large male partner. "His vitals already stopped! What a fucking weakling!"
