"I hope we can get back to work soon...I get restless when I have nothing to do..." Wave said with a light sigh, rubbing the back of his head as he walked through the halls of the palace. As Wave turned a corner, he could overhear two guards having a conversation. He was going to ignore them, but something they said caught his attention.

"Hey, did you hear about what happened in the Restaurant Noir?"

"Yeah, I heard that Wild Hunt killed a bunch of people."

"They didn't just kill people, it was a fucking massacre. They stripped everyone they killed naked and hung their mutilated bodies from light posts throughout the district...even women and children too..."

"Fucking hell man, that's messed up. We better hope we don't piss those guys off."

"Those bastards!" Wave thought as he stormed passed the guards, quickly disappearing down another hallway. Once he knew that he was alone, Wave let out a throaty growl and slammed his fist into the wall. "Damn it! Am I supposed to just sit by and watch those bastards terrorize the people of this city?! Why the hell are they allowed to do whatever they want!?"

"Wave..." A worried voice shook Wave from his thoughts. Raising his head, he was surprised to see Kurome staring at him, seeing her instantly calmed him down a bit. "What's the matter? It looks like something is really bothering you."

"Kurome..." Wave muttered, before releasing a heavy sigh. "Earlier...those monsters in Wild-"

"Well, well..." A cocky voice said from behind Kurome. Wave's mood instantly soured again when he saw that it was Shula. "If it isn't the cowardly Jaegers." He hummed to himself when he spotted Kurome, leaning in closer to get a better look at her. "My, my...what do we have here? I didn't know such a beautiful, young girl was apart of the Jaegers! I never got a really good look at you until now, so I didn't notice!" Kurome's eyes widened in surprise when Shula suddenly grabbed her arm and yanked her towards him. Wave was beyond angry when he saw this, using every ounce of his willpower to not deck Shula in the face then and there. Feeling the muscles in Kurome's arms, Shula became even more intrigued. "I see, you were enhanced with drugs...how fascinating. It's settled then! You're going to be my next toy! You should be honored!" Yanking her arm once again, Shula started to drag Kurome down the hall. "Now, come with me."

"HEY!" Wave roared in a furious tone, his entire body shaking with barely contained rage. "STOP THAT!"

"HUH?! You got something to say to me you little shit?!" Shula yelled in anger as veins bulged on his face. "I'm the minister of state's son, you-"

Shula never got to finish his declaration, because Wave had charged forward, his fist cocked back. Then with all his pent up fury, Wave hit Shula in the face with a devastating punch, sending the minister of state's son flying down the hall. With a crash, Shula slammed onto the floor, coming to a skidding stop almost twenty feet away.

"Get your disgusting fucking hands off my teammate!" Wave growled, protectively wrapping an arm around Kurome's waist and holding her close. A fierce blush spread across Kurome's face as she gazed up at Wave. "I'm sorry Run...General Budo...I...I just can't take it anymore...I will no longer turn a blind eye! The Jaegers will hunt down those who disturb the peace! Even if it's the minister of state's own son!"

"Heh, that wasn't a bad punch..." Shula said with a dark chuckle as he slowly sat back up. With a twisted smile, Shula locked eyes with Wave and got back onto his feet. Wave tensed slightly when he saw Shula take out what appeared to be a teigu. "But you've just committed a heinous crime and should receive the death penalty!" With his smile widening, Shula licked his lips. "The great Shula will tear the flesh from your bones!"

"Kurome, stay behind me, I'll keep you safe." Wave said, gently pushing his teammate behind him and standing protectively in front of her. "This guy is seriously dangerous."

"You defied me...AND got in the way of my fun..." Shula growled in anger as he glared fiercely at Wave, tightly balling his fists. "You won't get away with that! But how should I kill you? Boiled alive...cut to pieces and fed to dogs...burned to ashes and scattered into the wind...I can't decide! Or maybe I should just give you the full course and do a bit of each?"

"You really are a vile monster..." Wave said, tightly gripping Grand Chariot's hilt. With a growl rumbling in his throat, Wave unsheathed his teigu's blade. "That's how you've killed countless innocent people up until now! You bastards in Wild Hunt won't be forgiven! You can't be!"

"Please Wave..." Kurome pleaded as she reached out and gripped Wave's jacket. "Just leave it be! I don't want you to-"

"Stop this nonsense right now!" A menacing voice boomed, followed by thundering footsteps rapidly drawing closer. Then from around the corner, General Budo's imposing figure appeared. "I knew I sensed bloodlust in the air!" Budo wasn't surprised to see that his Jaegers and Wild Hunt were gearing up for a fight. He had felt the friction between the two groups as soon as they met. "If you want to fight, leave the palace at least! This behavior from both of you is unacceptable, and I expected better from you, Wave!"

"Sorry general..." Wave muttered as he lowered his head, tightly balling his fists. "I got carried away."

"Tch, shut your fucking mouth you old dog...how dare you interrupt us..." Shula thought as he glared fiercely at Budo, his anger and irritation growing by the second. "One word to my father and I'll have you reassigned to the ass-end of the empire!" However, as Shula stewed in silent rage, an idea suddenly popped into his head. "Wait a second...if I want to kill Budo's lackeys...I need to consider the fallout as well..."

"So, both of you-"

"Now, now great general, this boy and I have gone too far and can't just back out now." Shula said with a smirk, shrugging his shoulders. "Instead of fighting in the palace...I have a better idea...we can settle this fight somewhere we won't make a mess. No animosity, no matter who wins! They settle disputes in army this way, don't they?"

"Hmmm..." Budo hummed as he crossed his arms over his chest, still glaring at Shula. He knew that the minister's son was plotting something and he didn't want any more of his Jaegers to get hurt. But, he could also sense Wave's anger and disdain for the members of Wild Hunt, and didn't want to deny him the chance to take action against them. Releasing a heavy sigh, Budo decided to play along and turned towards Wave. "What do you want to do, Wave?"

"If I can fight this guy without any repercussions...that's exactly what I want!" Wave thought, raising his head back up and locking eyes with Budo. "Let's do this! I'm fine with fighting bare-handed!"

"Then I'll watch over the match..." Budo said as he cast a glance towards Shula. "To make sure there's no foul play. Now, follow me to the courtyard."

"This guy is such an idiot!" Shula thought, an evil smile spreading across his face. "I live without consequences, so I'm going to go all out on this prick!"

"Wave..." Kurome muttered as she gently gripped her teammate's sleeve. "That guy is-"

"I know he's a strong opponent..." Wave said, turning a flashing Kurome a soft smile. "But don't worry, I'll be okay."

(Five Minutes Later: Palace Courtyard)

"Just you watch, Kurome..." Wave thought as he glared at Shula, both of them standing on opposite ends of the courtyard. "I'll show you my full strength!"

"Alright...begin." Budo announced from a seating area on the other side of the courtyard, with Kurome sitting beside him. "Okay kid, don't let all the bravado just be an act. I want to see you kick this bastard's ass."

"Wave, please stay safe..." Kurome thought as she tightly clasped her hands together. "I don't want to lose you too."

"Well, bring it on!" Shula exclaimed with a smug smirk, beckoning Wave to attack him. "I pissed you off earlier, right? Punch again like you did in the hallway. But this time, don't hold back at all."

"Tch, you don't have to tell me twice." Wave growled as he charged towards Shula, his fists tightly balled. "I'll knock your fucking lights out!"

Lunging forward, Wave tried to hit Shula with a powerful jab, but he was surprised when his attack didn't land. Shula had leaped backward, barely managing to get out of Wave's reach. Annoyed that Wave had almost struck him again, Shula countered with a jab of his own. However, he was caught off guard when Wave grabbed his fist mid-swing. Shula hissed in pain as Wave slowly tightly gripped his fist, feeling as if it was slowly being crushed. Roughly pulling his fist back, Shula quickly put some distance between Wave and himself.

"Heh not bad, but I thought you were going to 'knock my lights out'." Shula said, smirk still plastered on his face, trying to keep up his cocky attitude. "A real attack actually makes-"

Shula's rambling taunts were cut off by a devastating kick to the face. Wave's heel dug into Shula's cheek, before sending him crashing into the ground. Shula laid dazed in the dirt for several moments, his cheek red and swollen, but Wave wasn't finished yet. Before Shula could recover, Wave grabbed his arm and began to drag him across the ground. Then, showcasing his impressive strength, Wave hoisted Shula into the air, before slamming him into the ground back-first. Shula gasped in pain, all the air escaping his lungs.

"Hoh..." Budo muttered, stroking his chin as he intently watched the fight. He couldn't help the satisfied smile spreading across his face, as he watched the minister's son take a beating. "Wave is much stronger than I thought."

"Wave is definitely going to win..." Kurome said with a small smile as her gaze stayed locked on Wave. "There's no way he won't."

"We don't know that." Budo pointed out, seeing that Shula was back on his feet, his face twisted in rage. "This fight isn't over just yet and it looks like Shula has dropped his cocky attitude."

"You fucking bastard..." Shula growled as he wiped some blood dripping from his bottom lip. "You got some good hits in, but that's it!" Charging forward, Shula prepared to throw another punch at Wave. However, when Wave went to counter the punch, he was surprised when Shula suddenly dropped to the ground. Then, spinning on his hands, Shula hit Wave in the back of the head with a powerful kick. Grunting in pain, Wave was sent stumbling forward. "I can't believe I actually have to go all out right now, it's pissing me off! But I'll at least give you some props, you bastard!"

Rushing in once again, Shula attacked Wave with a barrage of punches and kicks. Still dazed from the kick to the head, Wave struggled to dodge and block Shula's strikes, many of them managing to hit him. After Wave was hit by a particularly powerful kick to the back, he coughed up a mouthful of blood and collapsed onto his knees.

"Looks like Shula isn't all talk after all..." Budo muttered, analyzing the various martial arts styles that Shula was using. "It seems his travels weren't just for pleasure...he picked up numerous martial arts styles from across the world and is combining them all in his own style."

"Now stay down and grovel before me!" Shula exclaimed as he hit Wave in the chest with an extremely powerful dual palm strike. Wave gasped in pain, spitting up another mouthful of blood, before crashing onto the ground. Releasing a light sigh, Shula cracked his knuckles and began to walk towards Wave. "Alright...now the fun really begins! I'll finish this with one of my signature punches!"

"Hmmm, looks like this fight is over..." Budo said, crossing his arms over his chest and shaking his head. "It's incredible though...Wave is so young and he's already almost near his peak strength."

"If that's the case, then there's no need to worry..." Kurome said with a smile as she watched Wave slowly get back onto his feet. Shula's eyes widened slightly, seeing that Wave had already recovered. Not wanting Wave to get back into the fight, Shula decided to charge in and finish him off. However, when Shula's fist shot forward, Wave ducked underneath it. Then, in the blink of an eye, Wave hit Shula in the stomach with a devastating punch. Shula gasped in pain before Wave hit him with a barrage of powerful punches. "Wave has already reached his peak strength. General Esdeath made sure of that."

"This can't be happening! He already figured out my moves!" Shula thought, before being hit by another punch to the face. Growling fiercely, Shula's face snapped back towards Wave. "That's enough! I'm not about to lose to a piece of shit like-"

"Would you shut you fucking mouth already!" Wave exclaimed as he hit Shula in the chin with an incredible uppercut, lifting the minister's son off his feet. Shula was sent flying backward, before crashing onto the ground several feet away. Wave stood tall, panting heavily with blood dripping from his mouth and forehead. Still seething with anger, Wave spat a mouthful of blood towards Shula's unconscious form. "I'll never lose to someone like you."

"Alright, that's enough, this fight is over." Budo said, before getting up and walking towards Wave. "That was an excellent battle Wave, the victory is yours."

"No...not yet..." Wave said in an uncharacteristically dark tone as he brushed passed Budo. "I haven't beaten him...nearly enough...he needs to pay...all those innocent people he tortured and killed...this bastard needs to pay! He needs to taste the same pain he put all those people through!"

"I said, enough!" Budo growled, tightly gripping Wave's shoulder and stopping him in his tracks. "I understand how you feel Wave, but if you keep this up you'll piss off the minister...and at least for now we can't have that. Once we stop the rebels and start cleaning up the corruption in the capital, then you can beat on this little shit all you want. But until then, keep your cool."

"Fine." Wave said through grit teeth as he tightly balled his fists. After sparing one last glare at Shula, Wave stormed off, with Kurome following closely behind him. "But this isn't over, that son of a bitch will pay!"

(The Next Day: Shula's Bedroom)

"GAH!" Shula exclaimed, suddenly sitting upright in his bed. The minister's son hissed in pain and held his head, feeling the numerous bandages wrapped around it. Growling in rage, Shula bit his bottom lip, hard enough to draw blood. "I lost...to that fucking nobody!?" Tossing off his sheets, Shula stormed towards his door. "No fucking way! Right now, I'm going to-" Shula stopped in his tracks when he threw his door open and saw his father standing in the hall, eating a massive plate of flan. "F-Father!"

"So, it seems you've forgotten your mission and decided to waste time playing around." Honest said in a calm tone, stabbing into his flan with a spoon and eating a large bite. "I can't believe you lost to a country bumpkin. I really am ashamed of you." Scoffing, Honest shoved another spoonful of flan into his mouth, looking at Shula with disdain. "You're so pathetic." When Honest saw the frustrated look on Shula's face, he began to scarf down the rest of his flan, clearing his plate in no time. "You know, tasting defeat can actually be a valuable lesson. Defeat Night Raid, reclaim your honor...and wipe this terrible disgrace from your record." With one last smirk, Honest turned and walked back down the hall. "I expect you to fix this blunder."

"God damn it!" Shula thought as he slammed his fist into the wall, hard enough to cause it to cave-in. "I've disappointed my father! Wave was that bastard's name! I'll bide my time, then kill him off for sure!"

(Same Time: Wave's Room)

"AH! That stings damn it!" Wave yelled, watching as Kurome applied some alcohol to the wounds on his arm, before wrapping them in bandages. "Can't you take it easy for a sec, Kurome!?"

"Just deal with it, you big baby." Kurome said with a small pout as she finished wrapping the bandages on Wave's arm. She made sure to pull them extra tight, causing Wave to hiss in pain. "I still have a few wounds to tend to."

"Whatever..." Wave muttered quietly, a faint blush spreading across his face as he watched Kurome diligently work on his wounds. After another cut was bandaged up, Wave began to flashback to his fight against Shula, anger welling up inside him once again. "That bastard...even if he wasn't the minister's son...he's crazy strong."

"That may be true..." Kurome said as a small smile spread across her face. "But you still beat him." Kurome's cheeks reddened as she gently gripped Wave's hand. "I'm sorry if I implied that you were weak earlier, I take it all back. You're very strong, Wave!"

"R-Right!" Wave exclaimed in an embarrassed tone, scratching his cheek. "I'm glad you're starting to realize it."

"And one more thing..." Kurome said as she took Wave's hand and pressed it against her flushed cheek. "Thank you for saving me back then...I don't even want to think about what Shula might have done to me..."

"Kurome..." Wave breathed out, locking eyes with the dark-haired girl. "Hey...I just wanted to-"

"Wave!" Run exclaimed as he burst into the room, stopping whatever Wave was about to say. "I heard you got into a fight! Are you okay?! I'm so sorry I wasn't here to help you and Kurome!"

"Hey, don't worry about it, Run." Wave said with a bright smile, giving his worried teammate a thumbs up. "As you can see, I'm still alive! Just a little banged up!"

"Oh my..." Run said as he noticed how close Wave and Kurome were, appearing to be in the middle of an intimate moment. "I'm truly sorry, it looks like I'm interrupting something."

"N-No! It's fine!" Wave exclaimed, quickly backing away from Kurome when he saw that her face was only a few inches away from his. He quickly bolted off the bed he was sitting on and darted across the room. "Y-You weren't interrupting anything! Take a seat, I'll get you guys some tea!"

A few minutes later, the last three members of the Jaegers were sitting down and sipping tea. They started with casual small talk, but it eventually steered towards Wave's fight with Shula. After Wave finished retelling his story, Run released a light sigh and set down his tea cup.

"I see, so that's what happened..." Run muttered as he clasped his hands and rested his chin on them. "I'm glad you won...but that was pretty risky."

"Yeah, I know..." Wave said, clenching his fists underneath the table. "I'm more upset that Wild Hunt is still out there roaming free and causing chaos. I can't believe this country would allow a police force like that to exist...it's insane."

"You are correct, something is definitely wrong here." Run said before he took another sip of his tea. Setting his cup back down, Run stared into the brown liquid. "What they're doing is inexcusable and needs to be corrected."

"Oi, Run..." Wave said, leaning forward in his chair and quirking an eyebrow. "You've been acting kinda weird lately...is everything okay?" However, Run remained silent, simply furrowing his eyebrows and pursing his lips. "Come on man, you can talk to us."

"Is it something you don't want to discuss with us?" Kurome asked as she gave her teammate a worried look. "Run, if you're in trouble, we can help."

"It's no big deal, really." Wave said, waving his hands dismissively and slowly shaking his head. "You guys don't need to be worried or anything."

"Then you should be able to talk to us." Kurome said as she gently gripped Run's hand, giving him a look that said she wasn't going to back down.

"Very well..." Run said, releasing a heavy sigh and staring down into his empty teacup. "This was a long time ago...I used to live in the central part of the empire...in a small fishing village near Joyo...I taught children there..." Run paused for a brief moment, his grip on his teacup tightening slightly. "Joyo is a fertile region...and was a very prosperous area...it was actually quite peaceful as well...something the vicereine was very proud of...the children there were free to pursue their studies...they absorbed all the material I taught them so quickly...and showed so much potential..." Run paused once again, Wave and Kurome could tell he was holding back intense anger and sadness. "But...but one day when I left town...some lowlife...that sick bastard...he...he killed every child in my class."

Wave and Kurome were stunned by this revelation, they had no idea something so dark had happened in Run's past. Run inhaled a shaky breath before he continued with his story.

"Despite this, the government official in Joyo...wanted to maintain Joyo's reputation as the safest region in the empire...then the entire incident was covered up...as if it had never happened..." Run said as he quickly wiped away a single tear that had formed. "The man who killed those kids...was pardoned by the current government."

"WHAT?!" Wave exclaimed, slamming his hands onto the table and bolting up out of his seat. "How the hell can they do that!?"

"That's why I vowed to change this country." Run said as he calmed back down and urged Wave to do so as well. "I figured there are two ways to change a country...you either destroy it from the outside...or heal it from the inside. In the end, I decided to change it from the inside...if I had picked the other option...I likely would have ended up working for the rebel army."

"I see..." Kurome muttered, nodding her head in understanding. "You've been through a lot and had to make a tough decision."

"Why'd you decide to change this country from the inside?" Wave asked as he quirked an eyebrow. "It's definitely the harder of the two options."

"It's because of the vicereine of Joyo..." Run explained, a small smile spreading across his face. "She liked me and made it easier for me to get a higher position within the empire. That's how I managed to get my teigu too. As for my late students...I must rise through the ranks here in the capital...and gain as much power as possible."

"I'll help you do that, Run!" Wave exclaimed as he reached out and energetically shook his teammate's hand. "We have to take out all the diseases infecting the people of this country!"

"Thank you...Wave..." Run said in a genuinely surprised tone, his eyes widening slightly. A teasing look suddenly spread across Run's face as he playfully slapped Wave's hand. "No more attracting Wild Hunt's attention and getting in unnecessary fights."

"URG!" Wave said as he flinched, knowing he had annoyed Run, despite his playful demeanor. "I...I understand...but...we can't...just let them run wild."

"Please just rest easy, Wave." Run said with a smile as he stood up from his seat. "First off, we should all get some sleep and restore our strength."

(That Night: Capital Streets)

"I'm sorry Kurome, Wave..." Run thought, adjusting his scarf as he walked through the abandoned streets. "But this is something I have to do on my own."

"Where are you sneaking off to, Run?" A familiar voice spoke up which caused Run to stop in his tracks. Turning around, he wasn't surprised to see Kurome standing behind him, Yatsufusa in her hand. "You're going after Wild Hunt, aren't you?"

"Heh, I should have known it'd be difficult to slip out of the palace unnoticed." Run said with a chuckle, shoving his hands into his pockets. "So, why'd you follow me, Kurome?"

"That story you told us earlier...there was more to it..." Kurome explained as she took a step towards Run, her grip on Yatsufusa tightening. "He's here, isn't he? One of Wild Hunt's members is the man who killed the children in your class. That's why you're trying to fight them in a way that won't draw too much attention."

"Heh, you saw right through me..." Run said with a small smile, rubbing the back of his head. "I was never good at hiding my emotions, it's always written all over my face."

"You managed to keep it hidden from Wave, I think." Kurome said as she stopped in front of Run, clasping her hands behind her back. "He was still fast asleep when I left."

"That's good..." Run said, before releasing a soft sigh. "Causing a huge scene and getting into big fights is more of his style."

"I'm going to help you out, I don't care what you say." Kurome said as she held out Yatsufusa, her eyes full of determination. "It doesn't matter what anyone else says, those degenerates in Wild Hunt aren't acting for the good of this country. They've murdered and raped countless innocent people, it's unforgivable."

"I guess there's no arguing with you." Run said with a small smile, Mastema materializing on his back. "Thank you, Kurome...it's rare for us to team up, but I'll be counting on you."

(Same Time: Night Raid's Safehouse Within the Capital)

"Alright everyone, our plan is a go." Akame said as she dropped a folder containing their mission briefing onto the table. Sitting all around Akame was everyone else within Night Raid, minus Najenda and Esdeath. "Our target this time is the gang known as Wild Hunt! Their inhumanity and despicable acts know no bounds!" Opening up the file, Akame spread out several pictures of Wild Hunt's members. "Study these faces well, each one of them is a target."

"So this is Wild Hunt...if the reports I've read are right, these guys are absolute scum..." Tatsumi thought, scanning through the various photos. However, Tatsumi's eyes widened in shock when he recognized one of the women within the pictures. The bunny ears and cat-shaped microphone she had were a dead giveaway. "Cosmina!? She's a member of Wild Hunt!? I guess that would explain the feeling I got when she shook my hand...but..." Tatsumi thought back to his encounter with Cosmina a few days earlier. She was definitely dangerous, that much was obvious, but she didn't seem like a bad person, at least that was the impression he got. "Was I wrong...did I misjudge her?" He remembered how Cosmina acted before she left and something she had said stuck out to him. "She told me that she isn't loyal to the empire...maybe I can sway her, just like I did with Esdeath?" Reaching down, Tatsumi picked up one of the pictures of Cosmina, a massive smile frozen on her face. "I'll run it by Akame and everyone else, it's worth a try."

"While we're fighting Wild Hunt, Chelsea will use her teigu to transform into a guard and spread misinformation, disrupting their movements." Akame said as she rested her hand on Mastafusa's hilt. "Now, let's move out! By the end of the night, all of Wild Hunt will rest in pieces!"

"Hold up!" Tatsumi exclaimed, stopping everyone in their tracks. "Before we leave there's something I need to tell you guys...something happened the other day when I was in the capital..." Everyone was surprised by Tatsumi's sudden outburst, but they all allowed him to keep speaking. Setting Incursio's blade onto the table, Tatsumi turned the picture of Cosmina around so everyone could see it. "We need to talk about this girl."

(Same Time: Wild Hunt's Base)

"Good evening everyone, I'm sorry if I interrupted you." Run said in a cheerful tone as he stepped into the building Wild Hunt was lodged in. Immediately Run discreetly scanned the room, noting that three members of Wild Hunt appeared to be present. If he remembered correctly, two of them were named Cosmina and Enshin. However, he felt a spike of anger when he spotted Champ sitting on a couch less than twenty feet away. "I figured I'd stop by and say hello."

"Bah, come in I guess..." Enshin grumbled, before taking a sip of his whiskey. "Welcome to our humble abode."

"Hey, hey." A playful voice said as Run felt someone tugging on his sleeve. Looking down, he was surprised to see that Cosmina was standing right next to him, he didn't even notice her approach. Behind her glasses, the Cosmina's eyes were practically shinning and she seemed to be brimming with excitement. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Uh, sure thing..." Run replied with a chuckle, rubbing the back of his head. "What's with this woman? How did I not notice her until she was right next to me? Something about her seems...off."

"Well you're a Jaeger, right...well, I did some digging around..." A sly smile spread across Cosmina's face as she clasped her hands behind her back and leaned closer to Run. An uneasy feeling washed over Run when he saw Cosmina lick her lips. "I found out that a boy named Tatsumi was with you guys for a short while...can you tell me about him?"

"Tatsumi?" Run parroted in a surprised tone as he quirked an eyebrow, he definitely wasn't expecting a question like this. "Why are you asking about him?"

"Hmm, I'm just a little curious..." Cosmina hummed in a playful tone, leaning in even closer, which made Run a little uncomfortable. "So, what can you tell me?"

"Well...I didn't know Tatsumi for very long..." Run replied as he tapped his chin, trying to recall the brief time he had spent with Tatsumi. "But from what I remember, he was a very kind and passionate man. I don't know where he came from or where he went, but General Esdeath seemed to really take a liking to him...in fact, I think she even loved him. He did seem to have a mysterious presence like he was always hiding something."

"I see..." Cosmina muttered, her bubbly persona breaking for a brief moment as she appeared to be in deep thought. But almost as if a switch had been flipped, her bright smile soon returned and she spun around on her heels. With a wave, Cosmina began to walk away from Run. "Thanks for answering my question, you helped a ton!" Cosmina soon sat down on the couch across from Champ, humming to herself and pressing a finger to her lips. "So he even managed to make the cold-hearted Esdeath fall for him...he really is something special. Oh Tatsumi, I really want to see you again."

"S-So...where is everyone else?" Run asked as he tried to get his mission back on track, he wasn't here to mess around. "I only see three of you here."

"They're over at Shula's place." Enshin answered, setting down his glass of whiskey and releasing a heavy sigh. "Apparently he got in a fight and got really banged up."

"If Shula and most of his lackeys are out..." Run thought with a devious smile as he glanced at Champ out of the corner of his eye. "This is my best shot!" Slowly walking across the room, Run soon found himself standing in front of the large man dressed as a clown. "Hey Champ...the thing is..." Putting his plan into motion, Run leaned in closer and began to whisper into Champ's ear. As Run spun his lie, Champ's eyes shot open in excitement, his breathing getting heavy.

"Y-You mean it?!" Champ exclaimed, shooting out of his seat, practically drooling in anticipation. "You better not be lying!"

"Of course, I'm telling the truth." Run said with a sickly sweet smile as he took a step back and gestured towards the door. "I'll take you there if you'd like."

(Ten Minutes Later: Back Streets Within the Capital)

"Come on man, are we there yet?!" Champ huffed in a frustrated tone as he trudged behind Run, doing his best to keep pace with him. "You told me there's a cottage full of cute little kids! Where the hell is it?!"

"We're almost there...Champ..." Run replied with a chuckle, tightly balling his fists and doing his best to keep up his cheerful facade. "Just a little further now."

"You really are good at buttering people up." Champ said with a twisted smile, the moonlight reflecting off his white face paint. "First you gave us all this money, and now you found me some fresh, succulent meat."

"I'm just trying to move forward in life." Run said through grit teeth, doing his best to hold back his rising anger.

"Mmmmm...I wonder what they'll be like..." Champ moaned as he hugged himself, picturing all the beautiful children in his mind. "I'm going to love them deep and long."

"Hey..." Run said, stopping in his tracks, his back still towards Champ. "After you're done...loving them...why do you kill them?"

"Oh, that's simple..." Champ said as his smile widened, resting his hands on his hips. "It's so that those sweet little angels won't turn into dirty old adults! That just won't do! Adults are nothing but disgusting trash! I want those angels to stay angels forever!"

"..." Run said nothing for several moments, before continuing to walk once again, the rest of their trip in utter silence. After a few more minutes, Champ and Run were outside what appeared to be an abandoned stadium. "We're here..."

"HEY! What the hell is going on here!?" Champ exclaimed in an angry tone as he frantically scanned his surroundings. "This place is totally abandoned! There are no kids in sight!"

"I doubt you remember...but I overheard you boasting a few days ago..." Run said, turning to face Champ, glaring fiercely at the evil clown. "You said that in the town of Joyo...you attacked and killed all of the local children."

"Ah yes..." Champ said as he released a light sigh, a small smile on his face. "There were so many of them...I can remember it as if it were yesterday...hold on! That's got nothing to do with this!"

"That's where you'd be wrong..." Run said, moments before levitating in the air above Champ using Mastema. In an instant, Run's face twisted in rage, his eyes full of hate. "You sick fuck! I was those kids' teacher!"

"What are you-" Champ stopped mid-sentence when he sensed a presence behind him. In a split second, the large man leaped into the air, narrowly avoiding a spear that had been hurled by Natala, one of Kurome's undead puppets. Champ had no time to rest, having to avoid a barrage of bullets fired by Doya. Huffing in frustration, Champ pulled out six small orbs, which were his teigu, Chaos Throw: Big Leaguer. With a flick of his wrist, the orbs began to rapidly spin in front of Champ. "Just who the hell are you guys?!" Run said nothing in reply, simply raising his arm. In the blink of an eye, over a dozen razor-sharp feather surrounded Champ, all of them aimed directly at him. "Damn it! I don't have time to fire my teigu!"

"Rot in hell." Run growled, before snapping his fingers. In an instant, the dagger-like feather shot forward and stabbed into Champ. The feathers hit Champ in several vital points, including his forehead and one of his eyes. Champ soon collapsed to the ground, blood pooling around him. Landing gracefully, Run slowly approached Champ, pulling a strange plant out of his pocket. "I managed to identify you from a sketchy eye witness report. I've been dreaming of this day...for years now..." Run now crouch down next to Champ. "What you're experiencing now...is nothing compared to the suffering those children went through..." Looking at Champ with cold eyes, Run harshly shoved the plants into several of his wounds. Almost immediately Champ began to howl in pain, his feeling as if they were on fire. "This plant causes severe pain when applied to wounds...it's something General Esdeath taught me." Reaching behind him, Run soon pulled out a large knife. "A monster like you deserves to be tortured before his execution."

"W-Wait!" Champ exclaimed in a panicked tone as he frantically waved his bloodied arms. "If you kill me, everyone will know it was you! They'll come after you!"

"No need to worry." Run said with an evil smile, stabbing the knife directly into Champ's stomach. "I'll just say Night Raid killed you." Relishing Champ's screams of horror, Run slowly began to slice him open. "It took a lot of work to gain all your trust...and in that time you all killed and raped so many people...and I had to sit back and watch you do it all..." With one final slash, Run stood back up, blood dripping from his knife. "You're done doing whatever you please! I'm going to take Wild Hunt down from the shadows, one at a time!"

(Same Time: With Enshin and Cosmina)

"Hey, I just heard a terrible scream." Cosmina said as she cupped a hand over her ear. "Do you think it was Champ?"

"Tch, I told you it was a good idea to look for him." Enshin said in a frustrated tone, clasping his hands behind his head. "That run guy was acting really sketchy, I don't trust him."

"You sure you aren't just jealous?" Cosmina asked in a teasing tone as she winked at Enshin. "It's not cool when a guy is insecure like that."

"Shut yer trap." Enshin said, stopping in his tracks and clicking his tongue. "Besides, I know you aren't interested in that guy...no...you got someone else on your mind, I can tell..." Cosmina simply smiled and kept her mouth shut, knowing she had been caught. "Well whatever, let's just go report to Shula."

"That won't be happening." Enshin and Cosmina were both surprised when a new voice spoke up behind them. Spinning around, they were surprised to see Kurome had apparently been following them. The young Jaeger was flanked by two large danger beasts, along with Natala and Doya. "You two won't be leaving here alive."

"Isn't she one of the Jaegers?" Cosmina asked as she cocked her head slightly. "I remember seeing her around the palace."

"They must be teaming up to fight us." Enshin said, a devious smirk spreading across his face. "That's fine with me." Looking up at the night sky, Enshin's smirk widened when he saw the moon. "And they chose a night with a full moon, what luck! A perfect chance to unleash my teigu!" Reaching towards his hip, Enshin pulled out a curved blade, his teigu Moonlight Sword Dance: Shamshir. Dashing forward, Enshin began to wildly slash with his teigu, which sent out large blades of wind. Kurome and her puppets quickly scattered to avoid the attacks. Closing in, Doya decided to take Doya out first. With another wild slash, he cut off both of her arms. "A beautiful woman's hands shouldn't be holding guns...they should be servicing me." Quickly spinning around, Enshin saw that Natala was trying to attack him from behind. "My you are clever! But!" With a large sweeping motion, Enshin created a sphere of whirling wind around himself. The wind acted like a storm of knives and cut Natala to pieces. "You just ran out of luck, attacking me during a full moon!"

On the other side of the clearing they were in, Kurome's danger beasts began to approach Cosmina, who had been separated from Enshin. The bunny-eared member of Wild Hunt appeared to be perfectly calm, in fact she seemed to be quite thrilled. She was literally bouncing on her heels, microphone raised to her lips.

"Hey everyone! Cosmina's special, private show is about to begin!" Cosmina cheered as her eyes practically sparkled, both danger beasts nearly upon her. "I thank you all for coming out to support me! I hope you all have a great time!" Suddenly, Cosmina let out a piercing scream, the deadly soundwaves crashing into the danger beasts. Both imposing monsters stumbled back before blood began to erupt from the cracks within their outer shells. "Oh no, looks like you guys couldn't handle my lovely melody!

"My puppets are dropping one by one, they can't handle all this..." Kurome thought, plugging her ears to shield herself from Cosmina's deadly soundwaves.

"You should pay attention to your surroundings!" Enshin exclaimed as he sprinted up from behind Kurome. "Get ready! Here I come!"

"Tch, be quiet." Kurome said, suddenly dashing backward towards Enshin. Shocked by the unexpected move, Enshin slashed at Kurome, which she easily managed to dodge. Seemingly trading places, Kurome was now behind Enshin. Unsheathing Yatsufusa, she slashed him across the back, blood spraying from his wound. "You're both too loud."

"Damn it!" Enshin growled as he landed a few feet away from Kurome. However, his anger was soon replaced by glee when he saw Cosmina approaching. "Looks like it's a two on one fight now!"

"Listen up now!" Cosmina exclaimed, firing another barrage of soundwaves. "I'm going all out! Max power!"

"You're getting hit from both sides now!" Enshin yelled as he launched several blades of wind at Kurome.

"Damn it!" Kurome thought, seeing that she was sandwiched between both attacks. "What am I going to do!?" However, before the attacks hit Kurome, she felt her body being lifted off the ground. Looking up, she was surprised to see that Run had saved her. "Run!"

"Are you okay, Kurome?!" Run asked as he soared them higher into the air. "If those two thought to follow me...they're smarter than I thought." But before Run could think of what to do next, his eyes widened when he spotted a small orb flying towards him. Then in the blink of an eye, Run and Kurome were caught in the middle of a raging tornado. "Are you kidding me!? This is Champ's teigu! It can't be!"

Trying his best to maneuver through the storm, Run was shocked when another orb suddenly appeared in front of him. The orb began to glow brightly, knowing what was likely going to happen, Run protectively wrapped himself around Kurome. Moments later, a violent explosion rang out, engulfing both Jaegers.

"Heh...I finally...got an attack in..." Champ said, panting heavily as blood still poured from his numerous wounds. He watched in satisfaction as Run and Kurome collapsed to the ground, their bodies battered and charred. Laughing maniacally, Champ advanced towards Run, his orbs spinning around him. "You seemed to have underestimated me...the great Champ." Stopping a few feet away, a low growl rumbled in Champ's throat. "You know...you brought up some really annoying memories...back then those little angels...wouldn't stop calling out for you. 'Teacher, teacher! Help us!' They wouldn't stop crying that. It was serious buzzkill, it seriously spoiled the time I spent with my angels." Listening to this, anger once again welled up inside Run as he dug his fingers into the dirt. "Now...which orb should I use to kill you? Ah, I know which one, the flame orb!" Using exaggerated motion, Champ cocked his arm back and hurled the orb at Run. "I'll burn you both alive!"

"I don't think so!" Run exclaimed as he stood back up, Mastema once again appearing on his back, the teigu glowing brightly. "Mastema Secret Technique: Feather of God!" Dozens of feathers materialized in front of Run and began to rapidly rotate. The feathers began to spin so fast that they caused a vortex of powerful wind. Champ's orb was caught in the roaring winds, stopping in place for a few moments. After a few more seconds, the orb suddenly changed direction and was now flying back towards Champ.

"What the fu-" Champ was cut off when the flaming orb slammed into his stomach with so much force that it knocked him off his feet. Instantly, Champ's body was engulfed in scorching flames, causing him to roar in pain. Champ began to roll around on the ground but was unable to extinguish the flames.

"Now it's finally over..." Run thought as he watched Champ burned down until literally only his bones remained. "I managed...to deliver punishment..." Gasping in pain, Run collapsed onto his knees. "Damn it...using that move really took a lot out of me."

"Hey Run, you can't die yet!" Cosmina exclaimed in a cheerful tone, sprinting towards the exhausted Jaeger. "We still have-" Cosmina stopped mid-sentence when she felt something prick the back of her neck. "W-What the..." Slowly reaching up, Cosmina pulled what appeared to be a dart out of her neck. A split second later, Cosmina's vision began to blur and her body went numb. Cosmina began to mutter incoherently, before she collapsed, everything around her going dark.

"All right, I got her!" Mine cheered as she pulled back the bolt of her suppressed rifle, loading in a fresh dart. "Thanks for watching my back, Leone!"

"No problem!" Leone said with a grin, giving the pink-haired sniper a thumbs up. "But Tatsumi really owes us for this one."

"Alright, let's bag that chick and get her back to base." Mine said as she slung the rifle over her shoulder. "I know he's done it once with Esdeath...but I really hope he knows what he's doing."
