Location: Pizzaplex - Second Floor
Time: 1:30am
After several hours of almost fruitless searching, Roxy, Monty and Chica cross paths.
"Anyone caught the boy yet?" Chica questions them with a curious tone.
Roxy and Monty shake their heads in disappointment.
"Tch, this is a waste of time!" the wolf lady shouts. What the hell is so important about this kid anyway?"
Chica shrugs. "It's William's orders. We have to obey him since he's his Father and he works here? Or that's what he claims at least…"
"Come to think of it, who even is William?" Roxy questions, "He claims to be an employee but he's not on the employee list. So why do we have to obey him?"
Monty shrugs, "I don't know but I feel compelled to".
Roxy throws up her hands in frustration. "I hate being compelled to follow these orders! Frankly, I think this search isn't worth it. Just let that Security Guard catch him…I just wanna go back to my room and style my hair. Recharge for the next showtime. This isn't worth the —".
A streak of purple flashes through her eyes. She can't move or speak. Monty's eyes then start glowing purple as well.
"Not worth the effort you say?" Monty's voice combined with another man's speaks through him and strides towards her, "You foolish wolf! That child is everything to me. If he gets out of here by 6am, he will be harder to track down and I don't want that. At all".
Roxy recognises the voice of William, the one who gave them the command to find the child all those hours ago. Monty raises his fist. Roxy thinks he's about to strike her but instead, he crashes it into the pillar next to them, leaving a dent in its side.
"All of you will do as I say! All of you will bring me what I want! And if anyone fails me, then you will be scrapped!" threatened William.
"You can't get us scrapped!" Chica protests, "Only the higher ups can –"
"Oh believe me, I can and I will. With or without their permission" William declares, "You have less than 6 hours more to catch the boy and bring him to me!"
With that, William disappears and Roxy can move about again. She and Chica are terrified at what just happened. Meanwhile, Monty wakes up stunned, seemingly not aware of what just occurred.
"I blacked out for a bit, Did something happen?"
"Nope." Roxy replies to Monty. "Let's keep looking for the boy."
Location: Bathroom in the Pizzaplex
Time: 1:36am
"AHHHHH!" Gregory screams in a bathroom mirror and hits his hands against the wall.
Why the hell had he said those things to Freddy and the others? Why did he have to do that? He is guilty and full of rage. He has to calm down. He can't be angry or guilty, not now. He had to focus.
Earlier, he attempted to enter Chica's room to get the pass Freddy mentioned, only to find that her room was locked from the inside and that he needed a higher security level pass to get in. His vexation only grew in response to this setback and he felt like he needed to vent it somewhere. The closest place unfortunately was a bathroom.
"Why? Why can't I just be Gregory?" the clone asks himself, "I want to be a normal child with no connection to that murderer. Why can't I have that?"
He's grinding his teeth, his hands are clenched. He doesn't feel good at all as he stares at his reflection in the mirror. He places his hands under the sink which automatically responds by dispensing cold water into his hands. Gregory splashes it on his face to physically and mentally cool down, shaking any remaining water droplets on his hair and face away.
"I'm not William Afton. I'm not William Afton. I'm not William Afton." He repeats madly to himself in the mirror, "I can't be."
"Awww but why wouldn't you want to be me?" An identical albeit older looking reflection of himself appears abruptly in the mirror. It was William Afton, the founder, who appeared almost the same as he in the portrait save for the purple eyes and a black suit.
"I'm tall, handsome, and charismatic. Everyone loved me in my heyday."
Unlike the Gold rabbit form he had been using, this one felt slightly more realistic and animated. His mouth moved in sync with his words but his eyes remained unblinking.
Gregory shireks, stumbling over his own foot as he falls to the floor. He's lucky the damn surface was clean thanks to the miniature yellow robots in the stall.
"Do you like the new look? I thought you would prefer to talk to a face that looked more identical to yours and…human."
Gregory ignores his question in favour of expressing his own. "What the hell?! Why are you here? I thought this was the one place I could get away from you…"
Almost instantly, Gregory also realises something else: "Wait, why does this bathroom mirror even have a microphone, speaker and camera installed in it? This is creepy!"
"It is but it's pretty useful for gathering secrets." His reflection (or should he say William) chuckles, "Fazbear Entertainment doesn't seem to care about customer privacy at all".
"So….What do you want?" Gregory asks while standing up, "Gonna beg for me to come back to you?"
"Actually, I couldn't help but overhear your conversation earlier. You're looking for a Dance Pass right? To get a Fazer Blaster? I'll show you where else you can find one".
The mirror reflection changes to footage of a counter where a Dance Pass awaits him.
"So, what do you say when someone does something nice for you?" William prompts him for a polite response.
"This is a trick…" Gregory spat, "The moment I go there, I'm going to be ambushed immediately."
"Nope, it's not a trick. It's in the West Arcade area. All you have to do is get past Roxy and bam, it's yours."
"Why are you helping me?" Gregory asks with suspicion.
"Don't get me wrong, I want you to return to me so that you can become my vessel." William explains, "but I'll indulge this little game of 'hide and seek' that you're playing with me for now until you get bored or captured."
"I plan to stay away from you for the rest of my life. I'll never be your vessel".
"It's inevitable I'm afraid. One of them will catch and bring you to me. I'm certain of it".
William leaves and the Mirror returns to normal, once again showing Gregory's own exhausted and depressed face.
'I have no other choice, going to the West Arcade is probably the easiest way I can get that pass for now'.
Thinking that, Gregory leaves the bathroom. The moment he does however, he's immediately grabbed by Roxanne, the 8 foot tall mechanical wolf lady.
"Ah!"
"Found you!" Roxy purrs happily as she holds the boy in her human-like paws. Her nails dig into his body slightly.
When William told him he had to get past Roxy, he hadn't known that he meant it instantly. He omitted some serious information from his statement.
"Did he tell you where I was?" Gregory questions her.
"Yeah but I could also see where you were from behind that door with my eyes. The sooner I get you to William, the sooner I can go back to my room."
"Wait…Roxy Before you take me to him, I'd like to have some fun before you return me to William." Gregory decides to try to use the tactic he had with the Daycare Attendant, "Can we play a game?"
"Why?"
"Because if you bring me back to him, William won't allow me to play any games with people for a long while. He's…not much of a fun person".
"I heard that! That's untrue." One speaker blares to life with William's voice, "Just bring him to me, Roxy. We don't have time to waste!"
Roxy starts to walk away from Rockstar Row with Gregory in tow.
Think Gregory, think…how else can you convince her to let you go?
They pass by some advertisements for Roxy Raceway and Gregory has another idea.
"You know, you didn't play fair earlier…" Gregory says to her.
"What?"
"William said that I could get the Dance Pass if I could get past you but you were waiting outside the door for me and I didn't expect you to be there. I think you had an unfair advantage. I want a rematch." Gregory challenged her.
"So what? I have to put you down again and you try to outrun me?" she questions.
"Nah, I want something more fun."
Gregory gestures towards the Roxy Raceway advertisements with his head.
"How about a Race? You like Go-Karting right?"
"Yeah." Roxy agrees with him.
"I'll bet I can outrace you." the child bragged, "I'll bet I'm faster and better than you."
Roxy snickers at him, "Bold words kid but I doubt it."
"What? Are you scared that I'm right?" Gregory goaded, "Is that why you won't race me?"
Roxy huffs and stops in her tracks. "What would a weak boy like you know about racing anyway?"
"I know a lot about racing. You underestimate me." Gregory smiled and lied with surprising confidence. Still, going into a race meant that he likely would have to dig up more of William's memories to figure out how to be a better driver. It made him nervous but he didn't want to believe William was right. He didn't want to believe that having more of his memories would make him more like the person he was cloned from.
'He's lying. I know he is. I won't be like him. I refuse to have myself overwritten by that man in personality or soul!' Gregory tells himself, 'I'll force these memories into myself just one more time and then try to avoid anything that could bring back more of William's memories into myself afterwards'.
However, Gregory couldn't help but believe that every memory would return to him eventually whether he liked it or not….
"If you win, you can take me to William. I won't fight or struggle." Gregory promises the wolf lady.
"Hmmm. Sounds good. I'll take up your challenge, kid."
"However, if I win, You give me the pass and…" Gregory looks directly into her yellow pupils, "your eyes".
"My eyes? I … I can't live without them." Roxy stammers.
"They can be replaced. Don't whine about it." Gregory fumes at her. "Anyway, let's go!"
—
Location: Roxy Raceway
Time: 1:48am
After making the necessary preparations, Gregory and Roxy get in their respective Go-Karts on the Raceway and wait at the starting line for the green light to signal. Gregory is the only racer with a helmet on.
"3….2….1…Go!"
The moment the robotic announcer says the last word, the two of them speed off. onto the first lap. The first lap was easy and so was the Second. And so, William decided to spice things up a little by adding existing obstacles for the boy (and even Roxy) that were hidden under the course. He raised up various barriers and pillars across the racetrack to an almost dangerous degree. Roxy was confused as to why the obstacles suddenly activated but smiled as she liked that this raised the stakes for the both of them. Now their race would be more exciting.
Gregory barely dodged some of the pillars and barriers. since he's not familiar with the track at first. Eventually though, He starts to get used to it after two more rounds and swerves out of the way with ease.
"Kid, how do you know how to drive this well?"
Roxy was genuinely shocked by his skill.
"Ummm my Dad?" Gregory responds. It was a partial truth.
"Wow, William must be a cool Dad if he teaches you how to drive like this!"
"I wish!" Gregory scoffed.
"Hey! What does that mean?" William's voice blared again through a nearby sound system, "I was a cool Dad".
"All of your children are dead and you didn't even bother to visit and raise me. Your rabbit assistant did all that!" Gregory screams at William as he turns his wheel to the right.
"What the Hell are you both talking about?" Roxy asks confused.
They were already at their sixth lap and Gregory unfortunately was winning. His bragging earlier it seems wasn't bragging at all. He was good at this. If he made it to Lap 8 still in first place, he would win and she would be forced to admit defeat and give him her eyes plus a Dance Pass. Roxy hated that. She hated that a lot.
And so, she tried to do something she shouldn't have. Roxy stepped harder on the gas and caught up to Gregory once they were clear of the obstacles. Gregory is surprised but even more so when she starts slamming into him and pushing him to the edge of the Raceway's barriers.
'She's trying to push me off!' Gregory fearfully realises.
The child looks at Roxanne who's glare is full of wrath and malice. They also seem to be tinged slightly purple? He didn't know why. All he knew was that he had to do something right now or he would be badly hurt or worse, killed.
Looking ahead, he could see that there was an obstacle in front of the two of them. All he had to do was push Roxanne to the right and she would crash into it. With the idea in mind, he turns his Go-Kart to the right. Their strength is about the same so he ends up pushing her away in the direction he wanted successfully.
Roxanne is wondering why the boy now decided to fight back until she realised she'd forgotten to keep her eyes on the racetrack, blinded by the rage she felt towards Gregory. However, it was already too little and too late.
CRASH!
The front of Roxy's car hit the hard barrier. Still, she had her seatbelt on and so, she wasn't thrust forward but the car flipped over and flew past the racetrack to a completely out of bounds arena, crashing her and her vehicle directly into a hard wall. Gregory stepped on the brakes and got off his Go-Kart then, heading to where Roxy landed. He hadn't finished the lap but it didn't matter, he had already won the match by default since Roxy was out of bounds and out of commission.
The wolf lady sat motionlessly in her overturned Go-Kart, her jaw slack and arms hanging lifelessly. Gregory approached her and observed that parts of her were broken from the crash and her face was that part that had taken the most damage from landing directly against the wall. However, her eyes were still in good condition which was good news for Gregory.
'Did I kill her? No, she's a robot. This doesn't count.' He rationalises with himself, 'And besides, she tried to kill me first. What I did to her was purely just self defense.'
Roxy's eyes opened and looked at him. However, she still couldn't move.
"Seems you weren't the best after all." Gregory insulted her with a shit-eating grin, "You're weak".
The child then grabs her eyes and tries to pull them out. Roxy can't even cry out in pain as he tugs them once and then twice and on the third attempt, he finally unplugged them from their sockets, leaving Roxy eyeless. However, the moment he does, Gregory obtains another memory.
11am. The rain pours down heavily onto William's shiny new car as he drives it towards Fazbears. He was a bit late for his shift as he was busy with something in his workshop but it didn't matter, he was the Boss, he could get away with being 30 mins late for the job.
As the car gets closer towards the familiar building on the familiar stretch of road, he also sees a familiar girl standing in the rain…It was Charlotte, Henry's beloved daughter.
She was standing there, her shoulder length brown hair soaked into rat tails by the downpour. Her purple shirt and green skirt were also equally drenched, implying that she had been out here for a while now. It also seemed as though she was crying but he couldn't tell as her tears were likely mingling with the rain.
William suddenly gets a brilliant idea. He didn't know why she was outside of the building and sobbing but he didn't care, she was all alone and neglected and he would make her death look like a tragic accident.
For months, William had been plotting how to convince his friend to aid him in his research about Remnant but he could see that Henry was unwilling to make sacrifices and morally questionable decisions like him and to get the results he wanted, they would have to be brave enough to do the unthinkable…If he killed Charlotte now, her death could be the perfect catalyst to drive his friend to aid him in discovering the secrets eternal life and resurrection.
Making a fateful choice, William stepped on the gas as he made the vehicle charge towards the sad child on the pathway. Charlie heard the noise of the car and looked towards the source. Before she can react or think of moving away, the car hits her directly, the impact shattering most of her bones. She coughs blood as she's flung forward.
William steps on the brakes and exits his car, using a purple umbrella he stowed in his front seat to shield him from the weather. He looks disgusted at the blood that was spilt on his fancy vehicle but luckily, it's rapidly cleansed by the heavy rain.
He then turns around and calmly saunters towards the injured five year old who was now paralysed from the impact which had broken nearly all of her fragile bones.
"Uncle William…Help me." She begged weakly, "I'm hurt."
William loomed over her and knelt down, stroking her hair gently, and then proceeded to wring her neck, suffocating her slowly and painfully as she also continued to bleed out on the sidewalk. Charlotte's bloodshot eyes gazed at him with feelings of utter horror and betrayal. This was her father's dearest friend, the man who gave her presents every Christmas and candy whenever she met him. He was always so friendly and compassionate towards her…so why was he now coldly murdering her?
"W..w..h..y?" Was the only word she could muster before she fell into the cold embrace of death.
Gregory reeled backwards from Roxy feeling disgusted. William was watching him from a nearby screen on the wall.
"Did you remember something?" He asked nonchalantly.
"How could you!" Gregory snaps at him, "You and Henry have been friends since childhood. His daughter didn't deserve to die like that!"
"Ahh you remember Charlie… Did you remember how we choked her until the life in her eyes went out? It felt amazing."
"Shut up…" Gregory feels like he wants to throw up.
"Violence and hurting people are a natural part of who we are. Don't deny it".
Gregory turns away from William and heads towards the slightly broken wooden door in front of him. However, it seems the door is locked.
"I've been listening to the conversations you've been having you know: Henry says he doesn't see you as me but are you sure about that? He could be lying, you know, considering we were the ones to kill the one he loved most. The poor man went mad with grief and we guilted him into helping us kill many more…"
Gregory flares up at William's comment, "Argh, why are you trying to push me into becoming you so badly?!"
"I don't know what you mean by that Will," the Gold rabbit sneers, "You already are me!"
Before William can taunt him anymore, their conversation is mercifully interrupted by an enraged Roxy who has risen from her mangled Go-Kart, rushing towards Gregory with pure rage in her mechanical circuits.
"Raaagh Give me back my eyes you stupid kid!"
Gregory jumps out of the way as Roxy tries to pounce on him and ends up breaking the blocked door in front of him, revealing an entrance to a dark room.
"I'll capture you and prove that I am the best!" She cries as she runs forward, unaware that he was right behind her. With no other way out, Gregory enters the dark room to find an exit but ensures that he stays away from Roxy, remaining very, very quiet to get away from her. "I can still hear you!" she snarls as she bumps into a table and causes some of the items to fall down. She picks one of them which was still left on the table and chucks one of them out of frustration.
"I know you're here somewhere you Coward!" she sobs pathetically. She tried to muster up the bravado she had before to threaten him but the confidence she had before had seemingly vanished with her eyes.
Gregory would have found this funny if he wasn't scared at the moment as removing Roxy's eyes and damaging her body (combined with her crazed wails) made her look like a demented Banshee. Gradually, the boy finds and enters another room that's empty and…on fire? Or that was how it appeared to Gregory at least. The room was very hot, full of smoke and flickers of ashes in it and the flames seemed to be coming from below the metal floor. He didn't know why or how but the heat was making him feel very uncomfy. He actually felt weaker standing around this place somehow. With Roxy still on his tail despite lacking eyes, he decides to go further inside the blazing room and instantly sees a vent on his side at one of the walls. Quickly, he goes inside and, after a while, he finds an exit that leaves him at another section of the Pizzaplex. He exhales, feeling glad that he was out of there. Examining his body, he sees one of his plasters has been stained from the inside and peeling it off, he sees that there is silver liquid upon it.
'How odd…' Gregory notes, 'Where did this come from? Maybe it was from the vents. I must have made contact with some icky liquid that I didn't see…'
Staring at Roxy's deactivated eyes which are being held by his left hand, Gregory heads in the direction of the Parts and Service room to give Freddy an upgrade and hopes that the giant bear won't be too mad about what he had to do to Roxy.
Gregory presses his Fazwatch, "Hey Freddy, come in."
"Superstar, I'm glad you're alright. Did you get the dance pass?"
"No but I do something cool. Meet me in the parts and service room. I'm sure you'll like what I have."
Chapter 20 End
