Author's note:
Guys, I have something to confess: Dark Rebirth was my William Afton x Springtrap MPreg fanfic all along and GlitchTrap/Fake William is their baby boy. I'm just kidding.
This chapter was very difficult to write and I worry it may not be as good as other chapters but I'm glad I could push it out by today.
Also, FYI: This and the next chapters will occur in Gregory/William/Glitchtrap's mindscape and the real world so it will be confusing but I did my best to differentiate between the two.
Flashbacks within William's mindscape is in Bold italic and are represented by ~~
Gregory's thoughts and traversals through William's memories are written in only Bold and divided by —
And in the next chapter, events taking place in the real world are divided by ==

Alright. That's it. enjoy.
Gregory finds himself sinking downwards into a chaotic whirlpool of William's memories. He feels like he's drowning in an ocean but there's no water, only the sensations and spoken words of his past life surrounding him.
For what feels like hours, it doesn't seem like the falling will stop but eventually it does and Gregory finds himself on solid ground in a dark, familiar environment, seeing through the eyes of the false William...
The true William is dragged kicking and screaming to the depths of Hell by two large red and gold shapes. One takes the form of a Crocodile while the other is a Bear.
However, neither he nor them could have predicted what he left behind.
Years of William's hatred and anger, combined with the Remnant from his corpse that leaked into the circuit board of Springbonnie, stewed together to birth something...evil within.
And if not for the currently melted metal shell shielding Springbonnie's innards from the flames, the Remnant-made entity would not have survived.
For years, it slumbered until some foolish employees had to awaken it by scanning the rotten costume's circuit board and transferring all of its Data into their latest VR Game...
A mass of Goo with rabbit-like ears lay on the ground and from it, a set of neon purple eyes open. They gaze around uncertainly at the environment he's in.
To his left was a Carousel and a giant gift box large enough to fit an average adult while to his right was a very familiar stage but...it was absent of the four iconic animatronic animals. Additionally, two confetti stained tables draped with white cloth lay in front of the stage with party hats aligned opposite one another .
Then, lastly, beyond all of these was a row of red curtains that seemed to stretch endlessly.
William Afton was anticipating Hell to be a lake of fire. Not the first Freddy Fazbear's outlet. That is unless...his punishment was to suffer in his past memories and soon, demons would pounce out from behind the curtains in the forms of the animatronics he had created and chase him down the halls.
Was he alive or dead? He wasn't sure...
'Also why am I like this?' William stared at his goopy form before making a conclusion, 'Oh yeah, I burned in a fire. Of course I'm goop. But can I get back into shape?'
Slowly, he recalls the last form he took and gradually, he reforms back into the shape of his dilapidated Springbonnie costume. An arm was still missing and he felt gross and stinky inside it.
Furthermore, he felt odd. He gazes at his own soul. It's flickering slightly. Something about it is...not right. Was it weaker? Had something happened to it while he was unaware?
He shakes his head, deciding to ignore it for now since he wasn't feeling ill. He hadn't known what that really meant then but he would eventually.
William once again surveys the area with caution. He's scared of what will happen if he makes a move but he realises that remaining here doing nothing would be equally bad and so, he walks forward, exploring the recreation of the outlet.
Shockingly, it's just as he remembers. However, one thing was out of place: That red curtain in front of him. He had to know what was behind it and so, he peered behind the curtain and gazed upon a console of sorts, along with a floating sign above him that read "Five Nights At Freddy's: Help Wanted. The Full VR Experience [Demo]".
William had no idea what a VR game was but touching the console, a jolt of electricity ran through him and suddenly,he felt the lines of digital code that made up everything in the environment he was in.
'This restaurant... it's not real!'
William instantly realised that this place was a very detailed virtual replica of the very first Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria outlet. Furthermore, there were other zones (called 'Levels') that he could access from this console and each Level was based on a different outlet: Fredbear's Family Diner, The second Pizzeria outlet in the late 90s, Fazbear Frights and even the Fake outlet that Henry set up to kill him, Elizabeth, Micheal and the Funtime Animatronics (which had shockingly merged into one being) for good.
William didn't like the last location. It made his blood boil. Still he calms himself and tries to deduce what's going on.
'So...am I not in Hell? It seems more like I'm stuck in some kind of video game? Like that movie the Matrix or was it...Tron?"
However, if he was trapped in a video game, that begged some questions: Why was he here? How did he get in here? How long has it been since he perished? And more urgently, could he get out and return to the real world?
'This video game world is impressive. I'm very amazed at how realistic everything looks but, it's not somewhere I want to stay forever'.
He knew the answers to none of these questions but hopefully he will find out in time. Experimentally, he touches one of the codes and it alters something in the environment, changing a small patchwork in the curtain beside him from red and white to blue and white.
He then touched his own form and realised that he could change it as well.
'Hmmm perhaps I need a makeover,' William looks disgustedly at his rotten form, 'If I wish to leave this video game by seeking help, I certainly won't receive it looking like this'.
His first thought is to shapeshift into his body when he was 20 years old, a young successful entrepreneur with a whole life ahead of him (before he slept with that woman and mistakenly got her pregnant, giving birth to those utterly detestable children he pretended to love) and so he does.
His form glitches and soon, he's back to his young adult and human self.
However, he soon reconsiders this idea as he remembers that Fazbears didn't have the best opinion of him after he was accused of murder and at some point, he also learned that it was forbidden to speak his name in the company as well after his..."retirement".
Furthermore, if this game was directly designed by his own company (provided it hadn't shut down years after the events of Missing Children Incident), they'd likely try to get rid of him instead of helping him.
"Hmmm I like this." William smiles at his elegant suit, "but perhaps I should wear something that's more playful and better suits the environment. Perhaps I'll fashion myself a new costume that will give me less stiff movements".
William goes through his old memories. He recalls the old sketches for the Spring Bonnie costumes (back before Henry and him settled on the Suit/Performer mode Springlock animatronics) and picks the one that's most appealing to him.
Then, thinking about his new outfit, his form glitches for a moment before transforming into a more cartoony, cotton cloth mascot version of Springbonnie with a wide 'friendly' grin.
Its fur was a golden yellow, brighter than that of its animatronic counterpart, and two eyelashes and whiskers framed its bright purple eyes. Then, for the finishing touches, William added a purple bow tie to its neck along with a similarly coloured, star speckled vest to its torso.
There's a sharp buzzing noise coming from the console and a humanoid shape begins materialising into existence with green and yellow fizzles and sparks.
William conceals himself behind the curtain as he watches the newcomer arrive. It was a man with scruffy brown hair, a pale yellow shirt and green khakis who wore a weird, goggle-like device over his eyes.
He immediately knows who he is from the game's system that registered the person's identity, name and even background information he provided to a "classified person".
The man was Jeremy Hudson, an IT employee at Fazbear Entertainment. He had a history of mental breakdowns, suicidal behaviour and panic attacks that stemmed from a traumatic childhood and was already at risk of being fired...
William hadn't known he was so deeply connected to the game's system like this and filed this information in his head for later but, seeing the words 'Fazbear Entertainment' again, William was surprised to learn the company was still alive despite the controversies of his past and yet, despite the fact that they made the world forget him, William was proud to know that his company continued to thrive. Just like him.
Jeremy presses a button to the Second Level and then proceeds to walk in his direction behind the curtain. William continued to hide and observe him.
The man was doing some maintenance work on the game and, as he worked, he would often talk to himself to ensure he was doing the right thing.
"Alright. That's done. Time to –"
At that moment, William finally decides to step in, speaking to him from behind.
"Hello Jeremy Hudson, is it?" William greets him in his current mascot form.
Jeremy turns around and backs away upon seeing the creepily adorable rabbit that wasn't meant to be in the game.
"Huh? Who...who are you?" Jeremy asks curiously, "I don't remember you from the character design sheets or the game files".
He exits immediately by taking off the weird goggle on his eyes.
"Hmmm, I guess my approach was too direct." William mutters his thoughts to himself, "I should be more forceful when trying to possess him next time".
While waiting, William experimented with his new code manipulation powers. He could appear and vanish from sight, teleport himself to anywhere he wanted and, even better, he could warp the game's reality to anything he wanted. He felt as though he was a God and nothing could stop him.
The next time Jeremy dropped by was in no less than a day and when he materialised in, William tried to tackle him from behind.
"Let me into your body!"
However, when William tries to possess him, he simply phases through it. Frustrated, he then tries to hijack the weird device on his head with his new code powers to get into his body but that doesn't work either.
'Damn, it seems I can't possess people in this digital world.' William notes down mentally.
"I would let you into my body." Jeremy repeats to him, "Do you want to be let into my body?"
William looks at the man. Why had repeated what he said?
Curious, William tries something else.
"Do a spin" He orders him.
Jeremy spins for him.
"Now sit."
Jeremy sits cross legged on the floor.
Wiliam laughs, "Oh this is wonderful. It seems I can at least order people to do what I say...somehow."
William stares at his hands, "Now I wonder what else I can do...how far can I control this man".
Jeremy feels something is wrong with this Bunny and tries to snap out of it and remove the device on him but William quickly commands him to not take off the VR set so that he couldn't escape him.
He then forced information out of Jeremy's lips and the man was "happy" to inform him that he was a beta tester for this Virtual Reality (VR) video game he was trapped in. So far, it was the only copy in existence and, at present, Jeremy was playing this game late at night in the IT office to earn some extra cash in his monthly paycheck.
"What's this game about anyway?" William asks.
"It's a restaurant simulator. You play as a waiter working at different –"
"Nevermind. Not interested." he waved Jeremy's synopsis of the video game off, "I have a far more important question: Can you get me out of here?"
"No. I don't even know who you are!"
"I'm William Afton. Don't you or the company still remember me?"
"No."
"What a shame." William shakes his head, "You know what, I'll play with you for a while. Maybe some torture will make you even more obedient to me".
He wasn't sure if it would work but it was worth a shot. Additionally, he was in a rather sadistic mood as it had been a long while since he'd seen someone miserable. He changes reality around them to reflect a traumatic memory within Jeremy's mind: That of his family home.
"What the—"
"Surrender your mind to me Jeremy," William took the form of his abusive Father, "Don't make this harder than it needs to be."
"No. Never." Jeremy cries and tries to run.
For some hours, William plays with and tortures Jeremy with illusons of his past while also giving him various commands to learn the limits and capabilities of his new powers.
However, soon he finds he may have gone too far as the next thing he knows, Jeremy kills himself with a knife from his kitchen while still in the VR game to get away from him.
"You know, you could have escaped me by taking off those goggles as well." William shakes his head, "Then again, it seems you followed my order till the very end. A shame you died. I guess I'll have to wait for another victim who stumbles across me".
Then, all alone again, he began to formulate a plan to slowly and carefully craft himself a brainwashed and loyal servant. One that would obey his every command so that he could leave the game and return to the real world.
William eventually meets the second beta tester. A young woman with dark skin and brown hair. Her name was Tonya, another IT employee but this time, she was more of a customer service person.
Using what he learned from his first and previous failure, he tried to brainwash her but she was more resistant than Jeremy, refusing to fall under his control. But why? He ponders about it after his encounter with her and came to the realisation that the info supplied to him by the game system showed him that she no signs of Trauma...Unlike Jeremy who was suicidal from his past and other reasons.
'Interesting...it seems the mental state of a person determines how effectively I can brainwash them. I have to be careful'.
Shortly after her encounter with him, Tonya left recordings in the game that warned other beta testers of the malicious code that took the form of a "Gold Rabbit" that wandered the VR game. She also informed the game devs face to face that she wanted it removed before being released to the public. However, they didn't seem to listen because William wasn't going to let her get away with it and so, he erased the evidence of himself and the recordings she placed in game so that the next person wouldn't be warned.
A third beta tester enters. Her name is Vanessa. She's prettier than the last two...or she would be if it weren't for her tired panda-looking eyes. Still, she had a nice figure and for that, William liked her. He meets with her like the others but, now having learnt from the mistakes of his past two experiments, she finally becomes the first successful servant of his brainwashing technique.
He asked her to tell him everything and so she did, explaining to him what was and wasn't mentioned in her file. Much like Jeremy, Vanessa was an employee of Fazbear's IT department and had a traumatic backstory: Vanessa was purposefully abandoned as a child at the age of 9 at a carnival but luckily, she was adopted and raised by a middle aged woman named Ramona Ashton before she died unexpectedly from a heart attack. Since then, she'd been living alone in her small apartment since the age of 18.
"How sad..." William remarks as she finishes her tale of woe, "But don't fret dear Vanessa, you don't have to be lonely anymore as I can be your new roommate. However, you must first find a way to help me get out of here".
"Sure. Maybe I can try downloading you onto my phone?"
"Download me onto a phone? I didn't think that was possible in... Hang on, what year is this?"
"Around 2060".
"You've got to be shitting me. It's been that long since I died?!"
"What do you mean? Who are you?" the brainwashed woman asked.
"My name is Mr Afton. I am the founder of the company you work for..."
William tells Vanessa his life story for the next hour, narrating to her his History and desires of achieving true immortality through Remnant which could only be gained effectively through the harvesting of human souls.
Despite the...very questionable things he told her, the brainwashed woman smiled, accepted him for who she was and agreed to help him out of the VR Game. William, in turn, gave her a pleased smile back.
Being transferred to Vanessa's phone is a surreal experience. He feels like he's Alice falling down the rabbit hole for many, many minutes before suddenly finding himself floating in a dark void full of electric currents.
There's also two screens beside him: One which shows him what Vanessa's phone sees from its camera (mainly a living room) while the other shows what Vanessa sees on her phone screen: A Gold Rabbit face identical to his new Springbonnie costume.
"Are you out?"
"Yes." William answers.
"Umm. You're kind of on my screen."
"Oh right. Could you explain some things to me? I'm not sure how to get rid of it or use any of this newfangled technology".
William lives in Vanessa's phone for some days, getting used to and learning more about his new electronic based abilities and learning all he can about the futuristic world and what changed in his absence. In his current state, he was trapped in some type of digital world and couldn't get to the real world nor possess a body. However, he learns that he can at least possess different electronics within a range of 7 metres by simply thinking of what he wanted to jump into and then traversing the digital world from one object to another. As long as they had a connection to something called mobile data or a wifi, he was capable of doing it.
Another advantage of his new state was that he could have rapid access to the vast wealth of information contained on the internet which was currently larger than it had been around William's time. It was virtually an easily accessible encyclopaedia that had much much more information than one as well.
What's more: People also uploaded their information here, be it facts, opinions or just their deepest secrets and William was confused as to why people would do such a thing. He goes through different websites and even stalked various social media profiles, especially that of his new assistant Vanessa.
He learns that she likes cooking, walks by the beach, wears rainbow hair highlights from time to time and frequently purchases merchandise with rabbit imagery on them. Additionally, just yesterday, William also learned she had bought materials such as fur to design a costume (for some reason).
What was more crucial however was that she indeed had told him the truth about herself. She was an employee within Fazbear Entertainment.
"Vanessa, do you think that during work, you could get me into that VR game system again so that I can have access to more people to put under my control?"
"Sure thing."
The plan was set in motion: While Vanessa worked, he would inhabit in the VR game and brainwash more and more Beta testers so that he could have more slaves than one if Vanessa should fail. Then, Vanessa would collect him at the end of the day and they would go home. Rinse and repeat.

Gregory in his memories attempted to search for the names and faces that the Fake William had brainwashed but shockingly, they were blocked off from him.
"Sorry Little Will, but I'm afraid you may only see what I allow you to see." A voice taunts the boy.
"Let me out of these memories!" Gregory demands loudly.
Fake William doesn't respond.
—
Days passed. William monitored the progress of his brainwashed slave from her phone as he'd placed her in that state to do things for him at her job. However, he soon realised that it was a problem as leaving her like this for several hours often left Vanessa with a migraine and, if this kept up, she was at risk of being fired...
On top of that, people immediately noticed her ... off behaviour. Like how she was spacing out at work or just not being very friendly lately.
It made William think that he should give Vanessa's brainwashed state more of a character and that this brainwashed persona would be kept separately from Vanessa, like a split personality of sorts...
Adding on to this idea, he also wonders if he could create a 'trigger', one that would cause the other persona and Vanessa to switch back and forth at his command. Was doing that even possible? Perhaps.
'Maybe I could use a specific ringtone or something?'
After a few days of absorbing much information about hypnosis techniques and how to apply them, William appears on Vanny's smartphone again in his Gold Rabbit icon form as she eats her microwaved pasta dinner at the office.
"Hello Vanny".
"Hello Mr Afton".
"I feel like you need more of a personality, your blank stare unnerves me a bit. Perhaps I'll model your personality after my former wife but I'll make you a better, more obedient version of her".
"I don't know who that is but it's all up to you Mr Afton." She tells him monotonously as she lies on her bed.
William gazes at the yellow rabbit plushie lying by the lamp next to her bedside before his eyes gaze over the other rabbit themed items around her room.
"Also, I think I'll call you Vanny instead. It's like a combination of 'Vanessa' and 'Bunny'".
"Vanny... I like that".
"Excellent. When you're done with dinner, meet me back in the VR Game".
When Vanny places the headset back on, returning to the game world, he rearranges her mind verbally as he had done to the others, shaping her with new psychological traits that he desired and the trigger mechanism he thought of.
However, modelling the Vanny persona after his wife had...unforeseen consequences, mainly being romantically attached to him and demanding kids which made him...a little more than annoyed.
"Mr Afton?"
"Yes?"
"Can we have children Mr Afton?" Vanny asks him during one of her late night shifts in the office.
William glares at her coldly from the phone using the Gold Rabbit icon, "God no. This is the fifth time you asked. Also why?!"
"I've been having dreams of getting pregnant with your children. I'd like that."
William reels at this.
"Put that headset on yourself and go into the VR Game again, Vanny." He instructed her, "You need a bit of maintenance".
William immediately erases her personality, resetting it to its default mode. Until he could find his servant a better persona to have, he'd keep her like this...
"Mr Afton, I'd thought you might like to know that there's a new Mall being built by Fazbear Entertainment. It's called the Pizzaplex." Vanny informs him one fine summer morning, "They're going to include several new animatronic mascots within the mall, four of which are called the 'Glamrocks', and every single one of them has already been prepared and stored away until opening day".
William is piqued by this latest news, "That's interesting."
"There's also something else I think you should know: The Pizzaplex is being built above the building where Springbonnie, your corpse and other items were retrieved from by Fazbear employees and Endos".
"By the 'building', you mean the trap that killed me?"
"Yes. I think that's how you were transferred into the VR game in the first place: The circuit boards that were still functioning in your badly burned Springbonnie suit were taken and scanned into the game by Fazbear Employees to program Springtrap's mechanics."
"Springtrap?"
"It's a long story but in summary, it's what the company and the folks around Hurricane called you when you were sighted as a living corpse marching about in that gross Rabbit suit...Not that they figured out the corpse was you of course." she laughs, "I'm surprised you didn't know that you became an Urban Legend around town, especially after all those murders you did".
"That's...interesting but unimportant for now and, speaking of my old suit, is it still there?"
"I'm not sure but it's likely buried under mounds of trash that Fazbear's dumped there. Right now, the entire town and the company are practically using the zone around the fallen building as their scrapyard and I believe we might find other things there that would be of use to you besides your old rabbit suit".
William feels it again, the odd flickering of his soul. He doesn't know why it's still like this after many months but he should definitely do something about it. And the 'Scrapyard' Vanny mentioned sounded like a good place to obtain materials he needed for the creation of his future inventions.
"Alright. Let's go."
"Oh hang on, let me get my costume." Vanny runs into her bedroom.
"Costume?"
"Yeah." William hears the sound of Vanny digging through several layers of clothes in her closet, "I made a rabbit costume that looks as cute as yours".
After a few minutes, Vanny emerges from her room door in a white rabbit costume that had thick eyelashes surrounding big, eerie red eyes with oval pupils, "Ta da".
"Ummm, May I ask why you are wearing this out?"
"Sometimes employees go down there and I don't want any of them to recognise me. Especially if you need me to help you with your plans of killing people or stealing things later down the line. Doesn't it keep my face well hidden? Isn't it good enough to lure children to us?"
"Hmm..the eyes are a bit creepy but yeah, good attempt." He praises her.
Surprisingly enough, they had to take a lift down to reach the area Vanny mentioned and when its doors opened, William found himself staring at the base of a deep, wide and rocky canyon-like expanse along with a very familiar Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria just farther ahead.
The 'Scrapyard' is exactly like Vanny had described: Mounds and bits of discarded trash were scattered everywhere, either thrown haphazardly on the floor or stacked so high atop one another that they practically became miniature hills.
"Vanny, what...is this place exactly? Why is that building all the way down here?" William starts to have bad flashbacks of being burned alive.
"You don't know? A massive earthquake hit Hurricane a few years back. It was a pretty infamous incident".
"I suppose much like me becoming an Urban Legend, I missed that piece of news during my internet browsing sessions." the murderer admitted, "What does it have to do with this deep canyon here though?"
"Well, if you must know, massive cracks formed around Hurricane as a result of the quake and many buildings were swallowed into them. One of which was this one. It took Fazbear Entertainment months of funding, clean up and construction for the Fazbear crew to get down here and salvage what they could".
"That's funny." William chuckles, "It's almost as if some Divine entity sent this natural disaster to bury the past forever. Too bad for it though, the past always comes back to haunt everyone, much like me".
They roam the wide space full of rotten and rusted materials for a few hours. Most of the things they find aren't useful but of those which are, Vanny immediately scoops them up and adds them to her rabbit-eared bag slung to her shoulder. coming across nothing useful until –
"I sense her."
"Who?"
"Elizabeth. My daughter. She's somewhere here. I can feel it. We must find her".
On their next visit to the scrapyard, they do find her but unfortunately, William's daughter doesn't rejoin him in his quest for immortality and worse, some kind of colossal monster made up of animatronic parts along with the souls of the 5 kids he killed had kidnapped her as well.
He didn't know if they were the kids or not but if they were, it baffled him as the last time he saw them, he was dying from blood loss and had seen their souls ascend to Heaven.
Currently though, he feels more disappointed and angered that his daughter was no longer useful to him. Vanny realises this and comforts him.
"I'm sorry we couldn't get her Mr Afton." Vanny apologises sympathetically.
"There's no need to worry." He sighs, "I still have you at least. You won't betray me would you?"
"Not at all." She says blanky, smiling at William. It's at this moment that the Gold Rabbit then truly notices her face: Her green eyes, they were almost identical to Elizabeth's. He grins, getting a wicked idea.
"In fact, why don't you become my new daughter instead? Place the VR headset on yourself again tomorrow morning before work starts".
William rewrites her once again like a computer program, giving his servant some of Elizabeth's personality traits.
"Vanny help me make something."
His servant paused the sewing of her rabbit costume as she was about to finish the last stitch of the latest red patch she was adding to it, "What is it?"
"I'd like you to help me make Gadgets based on my old blueprints. I'll print them out for you..."
Together, in two weeks, they build two devices: One to extract Remnant and the other, to detect souls (and Remnant) within objects.
"With these items, it will be easier for you to collect Remnant for me. Let's give the Detector a test run. Test it on me."
William didn't tell Vanny but there was a reason why he wanted her to test it on him first. He couldn't take it anymore. The...feeling was eating up at him. The weird...empty feeling that his soul had.
When he woke up. He knew something was off with his soul but chose to ignore it but now, he couldn't take it, he felt like he really had to know now if there was a problem with him.
Vanny scans him and shows him the results. It's as he feared and denied. The bar is half full, displaying that he doesn't have a full soul. No, not just that, his soul isn't even real. He's not —
'I'm not him.' The Fake thought to himself, 'I'm not the real William'.
He didn't know what to do. How was he going to process this new information?
"What's wrong with your soul?" Vanny asks, "Are you alright?"
"I think it's weakened." he lied to his servant, "I need to figure out a way to strengthen it somehow, make it whole again...and I think the Blob creature that we encountered in that underground scrapyard could help me find a way. I just need to figure out how to gain control over it".
At night while his servant sleeps, William no...the Fake reflects on the lingering questions he currently has: If he was not the real William Afton, what was he? And why was he born? Was his creation an accident or was he made on purpose?
If it was on purpose, it would mean that the real William died and, through the use of Remnant, he created him to take his place as he failed to become immortal. Therefore, it would mean he had a purpose. However, if his creation was an accident, that would mean he had no purpose and his existence was a fluke in the grand scheme of things.
The latter seemed more likely to him. William rarely was the type to make accidents (his children, marriage to Violet and the two Springlock incidents were the few exceptions).
The Fake William looks at the empty void below him in his digital world and comes to both a conclusion and resolution from learning the truth about himself.
"Hmmm. Since I am a product of William Afton, accident or not, I must finish what he began: I must become immortal and, perhaps..." The Fake William grins maniacally, "a superior version of Him that will achieve what he could not..."
A few weeks pass. Fake William figures out how to strengthen his Brainwashing technique through a rather unique and interesting method and goes back to confront the creature with a plan in mind and Vanny by his side.
The monster wearing the ruined face of Funtime Freddy (and the faces of the other animatronics) comes up to them once again the moment William shows himself and growls.
However, star patterns along with a hypnotic purple colour dance upon the walls behind Vanny, her eyes closed within her mask.
The monster starts to become affected by it and starts to sway from left to right, as if it was having a bad migraine.
Vanny then tosses her phone into the machine and William jumps into the Blob, slowly but surely taking control of the mechanical monstrosity.
While he does so, he notes that the 5 missing children weren't inside at all. Rather, it was only their leftover Remnant, all tangled together and full of negative emotions against the man that killed them.
And, similar to Fake William, the combination of both of these factors gave birth to a wild, uncontrollable entity. However, unlike Fake William, the monster lacked a proper conscience. It was feral and rabid like an animal which begged to be tamed and William was all too happy to transform it into his own personal pet.
Soon, he entered their mind space of sorts, sensing Elizabeth's soul not far away. He nears her and thinks for a moment to free his daughter but, knowing that she no longer wanted to be his obedient little girl anymore, he then stops and leaves her soul trapped in the Blob's mindspace as punishment for her insolence.
William jumps back into Vanny's smartphone as soon as he ensures that the monster is entirely under his control.
"Did you do it?"
"Yep, it's obedient to me now. Like you."
Vanny gazes upward in awe at the giant, wiry monster which is now motionless and waiting for its master's first order.
"Blob. Lie down." William commands.
The Blob does as he says and flattens like a pancake on the floor.
"Blob?" Vanny chuckles, "Is that what you're calling it?"
"It's not a very creative name but it was the best I could do." William shrugs.
They then both turn to look at the monster they have on a (metaphorical) leash.
"Oh Vanny, I've hit the jackpot." He declares, "This...thing could be a useful ally to have in my plans. Now, I wonder what would happen if I fed it more Remnant..."
William makes arrangements after Vanny presents to him the architectural and animatronic blueprints for the Pizzaplex, transferring Vanessa and Vanny into a Security Guard position within the mall by manipulating some files and pulling some strings by using his other brainwashed servants he'd made from the VR Game.
Vanessa of course was confused by the job transfer but accepted it as despite the late nights, she was promised a higher pay.
In this new position, it would be easier for Vanny and him to lure children to their deaths much easier as he had another plan: Kill more children, 'feed' their souls to the Blob and research their remnant until he could become truly immortal. And he would use the latest animatronics to obtain his dark desires. Start the cycle all over again...
As an experiment, he takes over the Monty Gator animatronic first. Back then, he wasn't a Glamrock and he'd used him to easily lure and kidnap a child with Vanny's help. After he left him however, it seemed to have some kind of corruptive effect, having infected him with more aggression.
Fake William also possessed Chica, Roxy and Bonnie, resulting in the first developing bad eating habits, the second, a very high ego and the third, a deeply fearful and paranoid personality.
As for the Daycare Attendant and DJ Music Man, he hadn't bothered to possess them much as one had (strangely enough) two personalities (only one of which he found he could fully control but only in darkness) and the other was far too big, noticeable and moreover, could only remain in one area.
The odd...corruption that his possession was having on the animatronics was a bit of an irritating side effect but it amused him and he had no idea how to remove it. Furthermore, through his possession of them, he also notices something interesting: The Animatronics contained traces of Remnant that are similar to the ones left in the Blob creature.
'But how and why...?'
Out of curiosity, he looks through Fazbear's current notes about the animatronics which confirms one of the theories he had for this observation: That some of the Endos were indeed made from recycled old parts of former Freddy animatronics that William experimented on. It explained a lot about their very intelligent artificial intelligence that made them so bizarrely human.
However, there was one animatronic in particular that William could never think of possessing.
"I won't possess Glamrock Freddy for...sentimental reasons." He explains to Vanny, "He was the mascot of my Old Friend. Also, he's hard to get to. Surrounded by children during the day constantly and even at night with all those security guards around him. He's the company's prized possession. Too many eyes are on him and he could easily be spotted kidnapping and killing children instantly".
A third reason that William didn't mention to her was that he also had a...weird sixth sense about the animatronic. It told him to stay far away from Freddy or else something horrible would happen to him.
"Figures. He's the Pizzaplex's Star. We can ignore him I guess but what a shame," Vanny sighs, "his stomach hatch could have been very useful to dispose bodies in..."
Every month, William and Vanny kidnap and kill at least one or two children and feed their souls to the Blob so as not to arouse suspicion. Usually Vanny would pick homeless children to murder but other times, William would make her obtain and murder ones already in the Pizzaplex who were abandoned by their neglectful parents.
However, it seemed the more souls they fed to it, the more despair and fury it accumulated. These children did not have peaceful deaths and they knew it. However, since their souls (which gradually formed a collective consciousness) couldn't attack their murderer who had them under his spell, all they could do was wail in agony.
"The Blob is making too much noise." Vanny tells William anxiously, "The Staff above are starting to suspect something's wrong down here and if we don't figure out how to make Blob here shut up, they'll come down to investigate".
"It seems the children's souls are too aware of what happened to them..." William vocalises his thoughts aloud, "Maybe I could try to do something to their minds..."
—
The memory blurs out for a moment before carrying on. Fake William was hiding something from Gregory again! What had he done to those kids?!
—
"Well did you work something out?" Vanny questions him, seeing that the Blob is now silent.
"Yes. They're...content and now, I'm going to keep on feeding it more and more souls until it can give me all the results I need for my experiments in restoring my soul and achieving immortality..."
Fake William discovers cloning and gathers what he needs: One of which are animatronics parts for the Soul Transfer device...and his opportunity came perfectly on a Sunday night.
Glamrock Bonnie had wandered into Monty's domain to ask if he was ok as he had been more aggressive lately and, sadly and conveniently, Fake William was possessing him at the time and had murdered a child. Bonnie witnessed it and so, he had no choice but to tear Bonnie apart that night and made Vanny hide evidence of his crime.
Monty couldn't recall a thing that happened that night. Only that he destroyed Bonnie in a fit of rage and not long after, he also told Vanny to collect Bonnie's dismantled parts as he needed them to complete the transfer device necessary for the procedure.
After that, he then makes his first and only attempt at creating a replica of himself:
Within the old pizzeria, he throws William's smoking pipe at the Fazgoo in the 7ft tall liquid-filled cylinder. It gladly sucks up all the DNA it can find before spitting it out from the top and going motionless for 5 minutes.
"It didn't work." Vanny said, "I told you human cloning was not going to work the way you wanted it to".
"Hmmm. Perhaps some of my Remnant will do the trick instead? Add it in".
Vanny pours two vials of remnant onto the Fazgoo which responds curiously to the new liquid, absorbing it.
It takes in what basically are fragments of William's soul, receiving the memories of the man's personality and appearance and then, doing what it was meant to do, the Fazgoo then changes shape, forming and malforming until finally, it transforms into a human fetus.
'So this is William when he was in his mother's womb? How fascinating.' Fake William muses to himself.
"It worked." Vanny breathed excitedly, "can I take a picture with it?"
"Sure."
Vanny playfully brings out her camera and takes a selfie with it. She smiles at the image.
"One day it shall become my new Vessel." Fake William stares at the body lovingly, wishing he could caress the cool surface of its glass prison, "I can't wait..."
The remainder of Fake William's memories play: Gregory's birth and the events of the past few weeks...
—
Gregory breathes, surfacing from the memory. He's happy to be himself again but as he thinks of finding an exit, a hole manifests beneath him and drops him into even more memories, ones that belong to the True William.
