Adrians POV
I was happily lying there, holding her close to my body.
" I love you" I responded but she was already in deep sleep.
I followed her shortly thereafter, dreaming about her moans and sighs and her tight body around me.
I woke up and she wasn't next to me.
Sleepily my hands were searching for her, till my eyes opened just to find myself alone in the tent.
I slowly sat up, my eyes still adjusting to the brightness around me.
I watched around and chuckled, because Sydney had already folded up the clothes that had been scattered around us the night before.
That was so her.
I streched my arms and left the tent, just to squint my eyes to yet another sunny morning.
I found her a few yards down the meadow at the edge of a small lake.
She was only in her underwear, walking slowly deeper into the water until the water reached her waist.
Her hands playing with the water surface, her hair moved with the cool morning breeze and she slowly bend her knees until she was completely submerged by water.
I walked down to join her.
The water looked sublime.
When I entered the water and small waves rippeled through my feet she turned around.
" Good morning" she said with a smile.
" Good morning gorgeous" I replied, coming to a hold right next to her.
She took my hand under the water and squeezed it softly. I squeezed it back and she chuckled softly.
" It's nice here" she said looking up at me.
I nodded. It really was.
We stood like that for some time.
Suddenly water flew up to my face and I watched her tilting my head.
Really? Had she just done that?
I laughed and shook my head raising one finger
" Don't start something you can't finish Sage" I warned her.
She looked at me through her lashes the epitome of innocent.
" What do you mean Adrian?... This?"
she asked grinning and splashing more water on me.
Oh it was on
Sydneys POV
The next second his hand fetched some water and it landed right in my face.
I laughed and he joined me.
We kept splashing water on each other, laughing and giggling and than suddenly it stopped.
My eyes had been closed on reflex for the last seconds and when I opened them I couldn't see him.
I was about to turn around when something grabbed hold of my ankles and I was submerged under water.
When I came up again Adrian was still laughing.
I took the few steps to reach him and slung me arms around him. Trying to duck him under water.
With no impact at all, of course.
He was still laughing whilst I was still trying to push him down.
His hands went around me, he was holding me up with both hands on my butt.
" What exactly are you trying to do?" he asked, unfaced by my helpless attempts.
I rolled my eyes and he planted a kiss on my mouth.
"Won't you give up already?" he asked with a huge grin on his face.
I shook my head, once again trying to move him. I started tickling him and he wriggled, trying to escape my hands.
"Oh you are playing dirty now" he chuckled and a triumphant smile grew on my face.
I was almost certain, that I could finally reach my goal when his grip around me got tighter and without forewarning he submerged us both in the water, stopping my tickling attempts, making me hold on to his neck.
When we came up again I had to cough. I had been swollowing some water.
"Are you okay?" he asked and I nodded.
" It just caught me by surprise" I replied and he brushed my hair behind my ear.
"I told you, don't start something you can't finish" he repeated and I rolled me eyes leanings in to kiss him.
The kiss was sweet and gentle almost innocent.
My hands caressed the nape of his neck and he weigh me gently in his arms.
He started to walk torwards the shore, still carrying me and when the water was only around his ankles I slowly put my feet on the ground, ending the kiss.
Adrians POV
We got dressed and gathered our things and shortly thereafter we were on the road again. Sydney had used the time, when I still had been sleeping, to figure out which direction we were supposed to go to and I wasn't surprised at all.
And finally, after driving for almost one hour we were back on track again.
We stopped as soon as we saw a small diner and we sat down to order breakfast and of course some coffee for Sydney.
I was enjoying my meal even more today, since I could see she was eating her breakfast with more appetite than usually.
"You are hungry today" I stated and she chuckled.
"True" she replied watching me for a second.
"I wonder why" she said pursing her lips.
She looked gorgeous today. Her hair was falling in natural waves around her face and her skin was radiant.
And she looked happy. Something I could never get enough of.
"I could think of a thing or two" I offered and she blushed.
I wiggled my eyebrows at her and she actually covered her eyes with one hand.
" Don't put on that innocent act. Admit it. You loved every second of it" I said, streching the word love.
"And I bet, right now you are thinking about my fingers brushing over your ..."
" More coffee?"
We were both blinking into the face of the girl that was now standing next to our table holding a coffee pot.
" Yes please" Sydney said, clearing her troath and I shook my head, covering up my cup.
Sydneys POV
We just had filled up on gas and I was still laughing about a joke Adrian had made, when he suddenly pulled me around a corner quickly.
"Adrian what..." I started but he held a finger up to his mouth.
My forhead wrinkled and I raised up my arms, palms upward a questioning look in my eyes.
"I wasn't sure before but I am now" he " replied.
"You see her?" he asked pointing at a woman talking on her phone across the parking plot.
"And him?" he continued pointing to a man awkwardly standing close to our car.
I nodded
"So? What about them?" I asked.
"It's them. I'm sure" Adrian said hushed looking around nervously.
"Who is them?" I asked. Was he going crazy now? He sounded paranoid.
"Alchemists" he said, quickly taking my hand l, pulling me behind a truck that was parked there.
"They are everywhere" he continued pulling me with him.
Slowly my mind processed what he was saying.
Alchemists, I remembered what he had been telling me. It seemed a lifetime ago, eventhough it only had been a few days.
A lot had happened since than and I tried to put the pieces together.
Alchemist, my dads people, the ones that were responsible for my wiped out memory.
The ones that held me captive for who knew how long and did who knew what and now they were here because of us. Panic rose in me, almost paralizing me.
What were we going to do?
Adrians POV
We were hiding behind a few trucks on the left side of the gas station that we had left just a few moments before.
How did they know we were here?
And how many of them were there?
My mind was working overtime.
If they had seen us entering the gas station they must have seen our car.
The guy standing right next to it seemingly had. He had been too interested in it.
It wasn't safe to go back.
We had to come up with another plan.
