No turning back
He stood over her lifeless body, curled up on the springtime grass.
He felt the guilt and sadness overcome him as soon as he saw her body fall slowly to the ground, as if all time had slowed down to make him suffer.
He regretted what he had done, but there was no turning back.
As much as he wanted to find that this was just a dream, and that the girl before him was curled up in front of him on the floor in front of the fire, he knew it wouldn't happen.
No one would know how much it hurt him to watch the girl he loved fall to her death, at his own hands.
He had done it, simply because his father had ordered him to and he knew he didn't have a choice in the matter.
Either he killed the one person he loved or he died as well as her and many others.
He had chosen to take only her life.
He watched as her two friends ran helplessly to her side from the other side of the field.
They were too late, and they both knew it.
As Draco backed away from her lifeless body, he realised just how much he loved her, and he chose the cowards way out, by killing her.
He looked down at his hands, which were now shaking uncontrollably and the wand that he was holding moments before, had fallen to the ground.
From where they were, they could see the sadness and regret with just one look, but that didn't stop them from being angry.
Draco knew now what he had to do.
He picked up his fallen wand and stood shakily.
Before he whispered the words that would insure his death he whispered an apology, even though he knew it was useless, 'I'm so sorry Hermione.'
He raised his wand to the side of his head, and before either of them could stop him, he muttered those two fateful words, 'Avada Kedavra.'
Before either of them knew it, they had two dead bodies lying on the springtime grass.
Just before he had muttered those two words, he had one thought running through his mind, there's no turning back.
