Chapter 3: Ronald Weasley and "Why am I always Dragged Along Too?"
Ministry of Magic, Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Great Britain
Ron Weasley looks to Robards with an unreadable look as his best mate leaves the room.
"Mate, why must you antagonize Harry so much? Even knowing he's your boss?" asks Ron
"Potter doesn't deserve his position, it should have been me!" sneers Robards. "It's only because he defeated You-Know-Who that he was even considered in the first place!"
"Now that's not entirely true" replies Ron "Harry went through the exact same trials and exams as you would have, he went further to gain qualifications in the muggle world and rightfully earned his spot here"
"Tch, whatever Weasley"
"Besides, I saw you staring at his ass as he walked out" teased Ron, amused to see the flushed cheeks of his co-worker. "Metaphorically speaking, it's like watching Teddy teasing Victoire because he likes her"
"You're likening my interactions with Ha-Potter to a boy pulling the pigtails of his crushes hair?" Replied Robards with slight disdain.
"I mean yeah, kinda"
Ron observes as Gawain sighs and reaches up to run his hand through his short hair. He looks at Robards with a critical eye thinking that while his attitude rubs most people the wrong way, he is at least easy on the eyes. Standing at 5"9, Gawain is a handsome man with slightly asymmetrical blue-grey eyes. Short brown hair covers his head and a strong jawline completes the face of a good-looking man.
"Listen, it's no secret that Harry is gay. Instead of antagonising the guy every few seconds, get to know the real Harry. Let him know you're interested"
"Why would he look at me as anything more than a co-worker Weasley? Anyway, i've dropped subtle hints, but he's not interested" replied Gawain slightly forlornly.
"Right so, Harry may be incredibly intelligent, but the guy is hopeless in the context of love. He wouldn't pick up any kind of flirting unless you hit him over the head with it" snickers Ron "You'll need to be more upfront about it"
Gawain was about to reply but was interrupted with the return of the man in question. Without a second glance at Robards, Harry heads straight towards his best friend.
"Ron! Pack a bag, we're going on a trip!" exclaims Harry.
Ron is just sitting there gaping at his mate "Huh?" comes Ron's rather intelligent answer.
"A case Ron! A CASE! and I've been asked to lead a team to help the muggle authorities - and you're one of the lucky bastards who is coming with me!"
"Do I get a choice in this mate?" replied Ron dryly.
"Nope, now hop to it!"
Meanwhile, Gawain is both annoyed that he isn't the one leading the team, but silently hoping Harry would choose him to go along with. His wish dies a horrible death when harry just flounces out of the room no doubt to pick someone who is not him.
