Gawain Robards had been one of the top Aurors in Britain and it was widely believed that he would earn the Head Auror role. While he believes he should have got this role due to his seniority to Harrison Potter, Harry joined the Aurors and blitzed through all trials and tests and proved time and again the powerhouse that he is in the field. Thus Gawain was overlooked for the role and it was given to Harrison instead. This occasionally creates some tension between the two (mostly from Gawain's side) however he is trying to deny the attraction he feels towards the younger auror.
