Izuku looked out his window and gazed up at the orange sky. The thoughts and events of the day raced through his mind. Kacchan – no… Katsuki Bakugou – had crossed the line and told him to "take a swan dive off the roof" and hope for a quirk in his next life. He had later been saved by All Might himself from a slime-like villain, learned a secret of his, and even still was told that he couldn't be a hero without a quirk. He was sick of everyone crushing his dreams. However, at the same time, he had realized they were right. With a somber smile on his face, he walked downstairs, put his shoes on, and readied himself.
"H-hey, Mom?" He called out timidly from the doorway, looking behind his shoulder to partially face his mother.
"Yes, Izuku?" The greenette's mother replied.
"I'm going to go grab some stuff from the store, alright?"
Something felt off to Inko, especially with that smile of her son's. This was a smile she hadn't seen in years. Ultimately, she decided not to press the issue. "Okay, sweetie. Come back as soon as you can. I love you."
Those three words made Izuku flinch, which thankfully went unnoticed by his mother due to her having already begun to turn back around. "Y-yeah, I love you, too. Bye, Mom."

He never thought he'd have to use this knowledge. He had spent hours upon hours studying the school's infrastructure and the surrounding area, figuring out ways to get in if he ever had to. Knowing how quirkist society can be, towards the quirkless specifically, he had known just in case a particularly nasty teacher had a vendetta against him. He could also use it if a student cornered him before, during, or after school. This way, he could break into, break out of, and maneuver within the school and the surrounding area without raising any suspicion.
Reaching the front door of Aldera Junior High, his soon-to-be former middle school, he took a long and deep breath. There's no going back now. He set off the small EMP he had made to disable all recording devices in the area, picks the door's lock, and enters the school. Within a couple of minutes, he's sat down on the roof of the building, facing his home. He looked down towards his house and that of his former childhood friend. Despite all the bullying and the last words he spoke to the quirkless boy – alongside All Might's words earlier in the day – being the final ones to push him to do this, he held no grudge. He didn't blame either of them.
"I'm sorry, Mom… Auntie Mitsuki... Uncle Masaru… Katsuki… maybe we'll cross paths again in another life; A life where I finally have a quirk - a life where you can truly love me." Tears hit the ground below the building as Izuku stood, took one final deep breath, and tipped himself over the edge.

"I'm a bit concerned, Mitsuki… Izu's usually not out this late or gone this long, even if he goes to get something for himself. Do you think something bad happened?"
While waiting for Izuku to come home, Inko grew too nervous and worried to sit still, and she had called Mitsuki to help ease her nerves.
"I'm sure he's alright, Inko. I know you worry, but Izuku can handle himself! You are right, though. It's not like him to be out this late." She was trying hard to reassure her, but she knew Inko would still worry. She can't help but grow concerned herself.
In the background, Katsuki was carefully schooling his expression into one of neutrality as he heard the old hag's responses. The moment he heard her exclaim Auntie Inko's name, and then that of the shitty nerd Deku, he had started to put the pieces together. Had the dumbass taken what he said seriously? He hated to admit it even to himself, but he regretted suggesting that Deku should jump off of a roof. No matter how pissed off that arrogant idiot made him by thinking he could be a hero while at the same time being a quirkless Deku, he couldn't help but grow concerned for him.
An explosion and an abnormally long flash of lightning startled the four. Immediately, they all felt that something was gravely wrong. Mitsuki, Masaru, Inko, and even Katsuki poured into the street to meet one another before looking in the direction of the school.
"What on earth is going on?!" Inko shouted, not realizing how loud and worried she sounded. Even if she had noticed, she didn't care. Her son took priority.
"I don't know, but I think we should go search for Izuku," Masaru spoke up and suggested, surprising the other Bakugous in the room. "Something's telling me he might not be okay."
Bakugou protested with his signature tch. "I'm sure he's fine, just got lost or somethin'. I'll stay here if you're so damn worried. The nerd'll show up sooner or later." Despite his standoffish attitude and angered expression, Katsuki was panicking on the inside probably as much as Auntie Inko. If this explosion had anything to do with Deku at all, he knew why. He didn't want to go out to find a corpse of the kid who he let die… or worse. Deku wasn't dead… was he? He shook his head. No, of course not! That shitty nerd wouldn't actually kill himself!

When Izuku woke up, it wasn't a pleasant experience. He couldn't speak, and it was absolute hell to move. Was he in Hell? He finally managed to sit up, and he looked around. No, this didn't feel like Hell. It didn't feel like Heaven, either. Where was he?
As soon as he started to stand, he felt much lighter and able to do so without much effort, but speaking was still an impossibility. He shrugged it off for the time being. There wasn't anyone else around, so it wasn't like he was going to need that ability anyway. When he stopped thinking about the state of his own body and paid attention to what his eyes were seeing, he was nothing short of amazed. A bright, radiant kingdom stood before him. Skyscraper-like buildings, spires, and churches like none he'd ever seen. Come to think of it, what were these things made of? They didn't look like any earthly material. Maybe he was in Heaven after all?
Trying to take a step caused something he wasn't expecting. Suddenly, he was standing at the entrance of a magnificent palace. This palace felt like something you would see in the medieval era of human history, not in any spiritual world or the modern-day. The palace felt strangely futuristic and modern while also having the appearance of an ancient structure. The unfamiliar materials only added another layer of mystery to the place.
Time seemed to speed up as suddenly the palace was filled with dozens of people. Nobles? Probably nobles, Izuku thought to himself, noting that they seemed to be wearing expensive clothing and jewelry. He shivered uncontrollably as a man passed through him- wait, what? How was he phased through? Why did this man look and feel vaguely familiar?
/
Things suddenly started to click into place when he looked at what seemed to be this palace's equivalent of an altar. Just as he did, he awoke in his world, his own body. Gasping for breath as he sat up, he patted himself all over in disbelief.
"I-… I'm alive?" Was all he could spit out as his dinner-plate-wide eyes looked around the area. He was alive, and he seemed to be in a small crater. There's no way he had made that when he fell, right? Connecting the dots, he realized the thunder he heard right as he was about to hit the ground was probably the cause of it. He looked to his side and found an eerily familiar hammer. Picking it up, he felt a surge of energy and strength come to him.
Closing his eyes and focusing, he rose the hammer up. Lightning came crashing down against it, giving Izuku another boost of energy. The final piece had fallen into place: what he saw was a vision. That vision had something to do with the Norse god Thor. He didn't completely understand why he saw that of all things, but what he did know is that in his hand is the legendary hammer Mjölnir. Izuku is the inheritor of Mjölnir. Izuku is the new God of Thunder.
