I have done a lot of thinking and pondering and I think the stories I was creating initially were not only heavily reliant on OCs but also just outlandish attempts on a game that has gone past its hype. So I am going to be creating this new fanfic, one that actually involves and stars canon characters and an idea I've wanted to try for a little while.

Within what appeared to be a somewhat rundown but sanitary apartment, there was a Caucasian man who appeared to be in his late 20s or mid 30s with brown short messy hair and stubbles around his face. He was watching what appeared to be a Spanish soap opera on his television, in which one of the characters, a woman, had revealed to a man, who seemed like the protagonist, that she was pregnant with his child. However, while it appeared that he was alone, the man had something otherworldly inside him, something that originally came with the intention of invading the Earth but instead chose to fight for it, albeit in their own way.
"Oh, I love this show…" A deep distorted male voice said inside the man's head.
"Yeah…" The man said in response to the voice.
"Maximiliano's feelings are not being validated." The distorted voice retorted objectively.
"Yeah, well, he never should've kept such an insane secret, man." The man argued back to his non-corporeal companion.
"We all have a past, Eddie…" The distorted voice said, referring to the man as Eddie.
"What, are you… you hiding stuff from me?" Eddie asked, now skeptical of the voice's words.
"80 billion light-years of hive knowledge across universes would explode your tiny little brain." The voice barked back at Eddie, causing the man to become confused.
"What-what does that even mean, man?"
"Well, let me give you a taste, then." The distorted voice said. "Just the smallest fraction of the things we symbiotes have experienced."
"Okay…" Eddie said dryly to the voice, who referred to itself as a 'symbiote'.
"Ready, Eddie?" The symbiote asked.
"Yeah…" Eddie replied in a raspy tone, as he laid on the bed as his companion began to tap into what the symbiote claimed was a sliver of eons upon eons worth of knowledge and experience shared across entire universes.
As a sensation started to grow inside of Eddie's mind, he saw the television flicker and distort, only for him to feel the ground and air around him begin to shake and vibrate aggressively as a large pop or boom was heard in the distance.
"What's happening?!" The symbiote yelled as what appeared to be a large black tear or rift started to split open in front of them, and soon violently sucked Eddie and his symbiotic companion through.
"What the fuuuu-"
It was a quiet evening in the Yamanashi Prefecture of Japan where most of its residents were either asleep at home or out working the night shift or having fun elsewhere. However, one person stuck out in the empty streets and alleyway, a young freckled boy with curly green hair and green eyes wearing a green and black costume with padding and protective gear as well as white gloves and red high top sneakers. The boy's name was Izuku Midoriya, and his dream was to become the world's greatest hero, but to do that he needed to master the power that was given to him.
"I need to change the way that I think about One For All." Midoriya thought as he walked through the empty street. "It's part of me, my classmates use their Quirks as if it's completely natural. But I still think of mine as something I have to call upon. If I could use even five percent of my power like it was nothing, I'd be able to move like Kacchan."
Midoriya approached an alleyway that was covered in trash bags and garbage as he looked at the walls and glanced at his hands while still thinking.
"Mr. Aizawa and Kirishima said the same thing, if I could just master my Quirk I'll be able to do so many things. But first, I need to be able to use it instantly."
Midoriya then started to walk further into the alleyway, analyzing the walls between him as he did so.
"Alright, I'll try this out. Five percent should be enough here." Midoriya said out loud. "One, two, three, the roof. That shouldn't be too hard, right?"
Midoriya then started to squat with his arm behind his back as he curled his feet upwards until he was standing or rather squatting on toes. As he concentrated, his feet gained a faint yellow glow while his legs were covered in what looked like red glowing cracks that looked to be pulsating like veins.
"Imagine the egg not exploding in the microwave…" Midoriya said to himself, remembering the allegory that his mentor and idol told him about as he did his best to control One For All's power input.
With an audible huff, Midoriya then leapt several feet into the air, leaving an impressive air current below him from the force of the jump. However, Midoriya was slammed right into one of the walls of the alleyway and sent back down towards the ground where he fortunately landed on a large pile of garbage that cushioned his fall.
"I was afraid that would happen." Midoriya thought as he fell. "I need to brace myself, and use my arms to cushion the impact, which means for the second jump I need to put power into both my arms and my legs. If I don't do it quickly enough then I'll end up breaking my bones in the fall."
"I can't take the time to visualize the result like I normally do." Midoriya said as he slowly got up from the pile of garbage he landed on and began to squat again. "But I have to try."
Midoriya leapt at the wall of the alleyway again and attempted to transfer power into his arms, but he hit the wall again and fell back down, only for him to squat again and use One For All again to leapt up and attempt the same feat, but the result was still the same. So he tried again and again, but each time still collided with the wall, achieving nothing but bruises and a bloody nose each time. The commotion he made was loud enough that a couple walking by noticed his antics, but chose to leave the scene quickly to not get wrapped up in the young hero-in-training's endeavors.
"Damn it, this isn't working!" Midoriya exclaimed in frustration as he brushed the dirt and garbage off of his costume and face. "Gran Torino's advice was very specific on what I needed to improve on…"
"Listen to me, the way you used One For All in the cavalry battle and the tournament showed that you're adjusting to the Quirk. You understand its fundamentals but your admiration for All Might and sense of loyalty to him are shackles on you. It's true that you need to get stronger and quickly, time waits for no man, real Villains don't care if you've reached your full potential yet. And you think One For All is more special than it really is…"
Those words echoed in Midoriya's mind, as he started walking back to Gran Torino's apartment.
"How is my admiration and loyalty to All Might a shackle?" Midoriya asked himself, as he soon arrived at the door of the apartment after walking for a couple of minutes and headed inside.
Back in the alleyway that Midoriya had trained in before, the ground and garbage started to shake violently as what looked like a tear or rift opened up and through it a familiar face came flying through and hit the nearby wall face first.
"-uuuuck! Argh, shit!" Eddie yelled, the pain rushing across his nose and forehead from feeling the cold solid wall hit his face.
The injured Caucasian then slowly rose to his feet, clearing off the trash that got on his clothes and body as the bruises and cuts on his face rapidly disappeared like magic. Eddie then soon noticed his surroundings as he soon started to panic as he realised they were no longer in the apartment they were staying in.
"Eddie, where the hell are we?!" The symbiote exclaimed in confusion.
"Why ya asking me, man? You're the one who wanted to give me a taste of that symbiote hive knowledge!" Eddie retorted angrily.
"I am not responsible for bringing us here, Eddie! I cannot open portals or teleport!" The symbiotic companion yelled inside of Eddie's head.
"Yeah? Well you coulda fooled me, pal! Cause now we're in this trash covered alleyway while the police are still after us for what went down in that cathedral!" Eddie said, half whispering and half yelling in an attempt to not draw attention to himself.
Something then started to protrude out of Eddie's body, first appearing to be a black liquid like mass which soon became more solid and organic looking in appearance. After becoming a certain length, it twisted and contorted into a more muscle-like look before what looked like a face started to form, having large white pupiless eyes and a gaping mouth with two rows of sharp fangs and teeth. This black face attached to an organic mass was the symbiote companion of Eddie, known to his people and friends as Venom.
"This place..." Venom said sheepishly as he peeked out of the alleyway. "It feels weird…"
"Weird? Weird how?" Eddie asked as he walked slowly out of the alleyway, trying to make sure no one spotted them especially with Venom out.
"I don't know, it's like the air is different here…" Venom replied before he retracted back into Eddie's body as the two were now in the open.
"As long as it's breathable, then I'm fine with it feeling different." Eddie remarked before he started walking for a fair few minutes as he observed his surroundings "I need to find out where we are…"
Eddie then after reaching the end of this street spotted what looked like a couple. Eager to find out where he had ended up, Eddie tried to straighten up his clothes as much as he could before he approached the nice looking couple, one being a man with short black hair and the other a woman with auburn neck length hair.
"Excuse me, hi there." Eddie said, approaching the two and speaking in a calm but friendly manner. "I think I might be lost, can you tell me where I am?"
The couple were still feeling rather uneasy after the incident in the alleyway behind them, so when someone came out trying to talk to them, they jolted back a bit as they turned around to face the man trying to talk to them.
"Is this guy some sort of tourist?" The woman spoke in a language that was foreign to Eddie's ears.
"Huh, what? I can't understand you. Do you speak English?" Eddie asked, before noticing that the couple appeared to be of Asian descent. "English? En-Ger-ish?"
"Perhaps he got lost, I guess…", the man stated with a sigh.
"Rather unexpected that no one was able to help him after all this time.", the woman said, "Guess he's super unlucky."
The man then shrugged before the both of them then turned to face Eddie.
"Um…sorry sir, but we can't understand what you're saying.", the man said while giving Eddie a polite smile.
"Eddie, I don't think they speak English…" Venom said, to which Eddie then sighed in frustration before he sheepishly turned away.
"If they don't speak English, then where the hell are we? Are we even in America any more?" Eddie asked as he took a look at his surroundings again, to which he discovered signs and graffiti that appeared to be Japanese characters. "Wait, is this Japanese? Are we in Japan?"
"Japan?! Like where they have the giant monsters, samurai movies and tentacle porn? And me without my Japanese bathrobe." Venom remarked.
"It's called a kimono, man, and have you seen how much they are online?" Eddie retorted.
"It's a glorified bathrobe and you know it, Eddie!" Venom shrieked back.
The couple were both confused and scared as it appeared that the tourist seemed to be talking to himself in his native language. They were both ready to turn around and walk away from him, but then they felt something sharp pressed on the back of their necks.
"Shit…", the man thought as a sense of dread washed over himself and his girlfriend.
"You know the drill.", a male voice said behind them, "Hand over your wallets and other valuables. And don't you dare scream for help or do anything stupid."
Eddie, who was still quite close, heard the commotion and turned to see that the couple were being held up by what looked like a mugger. He appeared slightly taller than the man and woman with messy blonde hair and wore a dark green hoodie along with black pants and shoes. The mugger seemed to be pressing both of his index fingers against the necks of the couple, he then also noticed Eddie standing a few feet away.
"And you!", the mugger called out threateningly, with the couple then reluctantly yet fearfully starting to take out their wallets and other items, "Don't you get any funny ideas either!"
"Is he mugging these people with nothing but his fingers? What kind of country is this?" Venom remarked in disbelief.
"I don't know, but I think he could still have a knife." Eddie said as he held up his hands in a passive gesture. "I'm not sure if you can understand me, which you most likely cannot, but I am giving you a chance to surrender, to turn yourself into the local authorities before this gets ugly!"
"Oh, can I eat him, Eddie?" Venom asked excitedly.
"What? A foreigner?" The mugger asked out loud as he tilted his head slightly, not understanding what Eddie said at all, before chuckling, "Well, isn't that unfortunate that your only help is a thick-headed American who doesn't have an inkling of what we're saying? Your lives are now in his hands, depending on what he does."
The man and woman's eyes were darting back and forth between Eddie and to each other. Both were terrified at this point as what the mugger said was right. The two were really hoping that this foreigner doesn't do anything stupid as sweat ran down their heads, with the woman on the brink of tears while holding in a scream.
"I don't think he's surrendering, Eddie, can I eat him now?" Venom asked, sounding like a whining child.
"Look pal," Eddie said, taking a step closer. "I have this friend you see, and he really really has a thing for eating people's brains. So why don't we let these nice people go and then-"
The mugger then suddenly took his index finger off of the woman's neck and shot a large nail out of it, which then passed the right side of Eddie's face and left a big cut on his cheek.
"Argh! What did he hit us with?!" Eddie exclaimed as he held his cheek in pain.
"I'm not fucking around!", he yelled as he then made more nails stick out from all of his fingers, then closed them together, placing his hand just under the man and woman's chins, "See what happens when you take one more step!"
"What the fuck is this? No one told me people from Japan can shoot nails from their fingers!" Venom yelled, not believing what he and Eddie were seeing.
"They can't, unless they did some weird experiments that the world doesn't know about…" Eddie said, gritting his teeth in frustration before he let out a sigh before looking at the mugger as the cut on his cheek closed up almost instantly. "Don't say I didn't warn ya. Do it."
Eddie's body was then engulfed slowly by a black organic liquid like substance that began to solidify and become like muscles and skin around him. The couple and the mugger were both frightened at the sudden transformation, especially the couple as the situation seemed to be escalating. Meanwhile, the mugger tried to keep his cool as he was still ready to kill the man and woman if Eddie did anything else, but his hands were trembling. His height increased as his limbs got longer and bigger alongside his torso and shoulder being broader, then the black substance rushed up his neck as what looked like teeth formed around the front and back and appeared to swallow Eddie's head, forming Venom's over his own. Eddie and Venom were now a seven-foot six behemoth of a creature, covered in black organic matter with white pulsating veins around his torso and arms. They were now in full symbiosis, now in the form they called the Lethal Protector.
"Holy shit!", the mugger thought frantically as he and the couple looked up at the transformed Eddie, "What kind of transformation Quirk is this?!"
But the mugger then remembered that he had hostages in his grasp and once again pressed his nails against the necks of the couple. The man and woman were somewhat more frightened at the sight of the creature, but were more scared of the mugger's nail against their necks.
"Impressive Quirk you've got there!", he said, "But there's still no way that you can rescue these two!"
Venom glared at the mugger as the large grin on his face got even wider before he subtly generated a tendril from the back of his body and slid it across the ground to ensnare the nail shooting criminal. When it felt the tendril reach the mugger's leg, he quickly grabbed onto them and tripped him over, forcing his hold on the couple to break as he fell on his back. The couple then quickly ran behind Venom and peeked their heads behind the closest alleyway. With the mugger leaning upwards and saw that the tendrils ensnared his legs, but then proceeded to aim all of his fingers and fired a barrage of nails at Venom. However, the nails were absorbed into his body to which they were ejected out of him, popping out like coins from a dispenser, as he pulled the mugger towards him then lifted him up by the neck with one of his clawed hands.
The mugger's breathing became unsteady as he was lifted off the ground by Venom, trying to at least loosen the grip in order to have more air enter his lungs, pulling on Venom's thumb and index finger. Venom slowly opened his gaping mouth, exposing the second layer of teeth he had within while a long pink tongue protruded out of his mouth and started to wrap it around the mugger's face, licking and 'tasting' the criminal. The mugger closed his eyes as he was licked while the couple were still rather scared of the whole situation, now peeking from the alleyway with one eye. Venom in the blink of an eye chomped down on the mugger's head, spraying blood, brain matter and pieces of bone in each direction before he dropped the now headless corpse of the mugger.
The man then quickly pulled his girlfriend back into the alleyway as soon as they saw the criminal's head being bitten off, with the woman letting out a small shriek before covering her own mouth. The man himself was also terrified as he looked at his lover. Both of them had heard of Vigilantes before and how some have killed people, but never to the extent that one would just bite a Villain's head off. They wanted to run as far away as possible, but both were too frightened to even lift their legs, only barely shuffling backwards into the alleyway with the man turning his head back towards where the transformed foreigner was while putting a hand over his girlfriend's shoulder, trying to inch her ahead of him.
Venom looked back at the couple, scanning them to see if the mugger had hurt them in any way. Fortunately he could not see anything, even with the enhanced senses to which Eddie on the inside sighed in relief.
"Glad to see that they're both okay." Eddie said nervously.
"But they are still scared of us, Eddie." Venom retorted to which Eddie chuckled.
"Well we are a big black monster with razor sharp teeth and claws, big guy." Eddie said before letting out a few pained grunts. "Argh, my head. What's with this sensation in my brain?"
Venom then looked at the couple and formed a large grin.
"Not to worry, citizens! The Lethal Protector has saved you!" Venom said, imitating a superhero, however to his and the couple's surprise was in Japanese. "Wait, what the fuck did I just say?!"
"I think that was Japanese, but I could understand that completely! What's going on, Venom?" Eddie asked his companion.
"He now speaks our language?", the couple asked each other surprised, albeit still somewhat scared of him, still trying to slowly move away.
"W-was he just pretending to not know our language the whole time?", the woman wondered.
"Maybe?", the man replied but was unsure, "Did he just know that we would be in trouble? Or perhaps this is just a set-up of some kind?"
"Go back to your home where it's safe, as I might not be able to protect you again!" Venom said to the couple, deciding to currently roll with the fact that he could communicate with them now.
Both gave a small nod at the Vigilante as they then walked past him, continuing in the direction that they were initially heading. But after seeing the body of the mugger, the couple then broke out into a sprint across the street. Venom then leapt into a nearby wall and started to frantically climb up, moving like a wild cat as he dug his claws into the wall each time and propelled himself upwards. Upon reaching the top of the building he climbed, Venom chose to scope out where he was specifically from the roof, seeing even more buildings and skyscrapers in the distance, as well as even some neon lights and jumbotrons playing too.
"Hmm, so this is Japan, it's much brighter and more festive looking than San Francisco." Venom said before he decided to fold himself back into Eddie, making his form disappear as he went back into the Caucasian's body.
"Alright, rewind a bit here, pal." Eddie said as he tried to piece things together in his mind. "How did we learn to speak Japanese?"
"I don't know, I took a bite out of that bad guy and then all of a sudden I saw the symbols on the walls and graffiti appear in my mind." Venom retorted in a puzzled tone.
"Wait, that's it!" Eddie exclaimed, having an epiphany. "You ate his brain, right? Maybe you also absorbed the guy's knowledge of the Japanese language!"
"My kind are known for gathering knowledge through their host and prey, so I guess it checks out!" Venom said. "But what was with that guy? He shot nails out of his fingers, which is something humans shouldn't be able to do without a symbiote!"
"Right, right, that was weird! It's like something out of a comic book…" Eddie said as he took a look at the landscape and buildings of Japan in the distance. "Well look, it's getting late and I think we need to find a place to sleep for the night. Then in the morning we can try and find a way back to America."
"But where can we stay, Eddie? Where are we even in Japan right now?" Venom asked.
"Maybe that thug's brain has the answer? Can't you access his memories or something?" Eddie asked back.
"Maybe…let him try something…" Venom said as he started to concentrate on the brain he just devoured, seeking to probe the brain matter within his system for knowledge. "Almost, almost and…. I found it, Eddie! We are in Yamanashi Prefecture!"
"Nice job, Detective Venom." Eddie snarked with a chuckle before taking out his phone. "If I can get some reception, I should be able to Google where the nearest hotel is. Shit, the battery is flat, and I don't have a charger on me."
"Guess we're going to have to do this the old fashion way now that we can speak their native tongue!" Venom said as he formed around Eddie again into his Lethal Protector form.
"Looks like it, man, but remember to lie low when we're walking the streets, we don't want to freak people out and have the Japanese police on our tail too." Eddie scolded.
"Lethal Protector away!" Venom yelled as he leapt over several rooftops of buildings in front of him, scouting a good place to find information and accommodation.
About forty minutes had passed before locals, who had either witnessed the events from afar or just heard the commotion, decided to call the authorities and soon enough the police arrived on the scene, putting barrier tape around the area and making sure to search the area for any clues. One car pulled up onto the scene in which a detective got out of the car, being a man with fair skin and brown short hair wearing a white undershirt and gloves and black slacks and a navy blue tie with a beige duster coat and fedora to complete his look. This was Naomasa Tsukauchi, known by the media as True Man for his reputation of uncovering the truth of various cases and crimes in Japan. Tsukauchi adjusted his fedora as he moved over the barrier tape and approached one of the officers and showed him their badge.
"Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi." Tsukauchi said firmly. "Are you one of the officers who was at the crime scene first?"
"Yes, sir!", the officer replied, "From what we've gathered so far, it seems that two people were being robbed by a Villain, as some of their items were found on his body. But a fourth person was also involved at the scene, seemingly as a lost tourist as witnesses reported hearing them yell and talk back to the Villain in a different language. And according to a witness inside a nearby building, the foreigner transformed into a giant black creature with white eyes, sharp teeth, and a long tongue after the Villain shot him with a nail from his finger. Shortly, the creature killed the Villain by biting his whole head off."
"The creature bit the Villain's head off?" Tsukauchi asked, surprised and horrified at this information.
"That's vile…even if he…or it, did save those people.", an officer behind Tsukauchi said, appearing to have the head of a cat with ginger fur and yellow eyes while wearing the standard uniform with a protective vest but with a bell around his neck.
"On top of that, witnesses also reported that the creature then spoke our language towards the two victims.", the first officer continued after giving a nod to the cat's comment, "Something about being saved by the 'Lethal Protector' and telling them to go home as they may not be there to save them again. We don't have the identification of the two victims at the moment, but we will question them in order to expand on the details, as well as returning their belongings that they handed to the Villain before fleeing."
"Lethal Protector? So they're some sort of Vigilante that uses lethal force against Villains." Tsukauchi said.
"It seems like it.", the cat officer agreed before asking the first officer, "What other information were you able to gather?"
"The only other thing that we have gathered from witnesses, is that the creature was able to create tendrils that tripped the Villain and it was able to take dozens of the Villain's nails that were shot at them.", the officer replied as he looked at the large pile of nails that were on the sidewalk, to which Tsukauchi also noticed them too.
"Take me to the body." Tsukauchi said. "I want to see the damage for myself."
"Of course, sir.", the officer said as he waved his hand, gesturing for the detective to follow him, "It's this way."
The officer then led them to where the body of the Villain was. Even though it wasn't the first time he's looked at it tonight, he still felt disgusted by the sight of it. The cat officer that was accompanying Tsukauchi recoiled back a bit as soon as the three of them were in view of the Villain's body.
"Son of a bitch…they bit their head clean off…?" Tsukauchi said, shocked by the headless mutilated body.
"Damn…", the cat officer said as he then averted his eyes away from the body, with the first officer understanding what the other two are feeling as he also used his eyes to focus on something else.
"What kind of Quirk gives you the jaw strength to bite someone's head off as thoroughly as this…?" Tsukauchi pondered as he examined the body.
"Not only that, but to completely transform into a giant and resilient creature?", the cat officer added.
"I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that they'll continue their feast if we don't put a stop to them.", the other officer said.
"Find the victims and try to get testimony from them. I need to head back to the office and make sure the Pros know what to look for in case they encounter this creature." Tsukauchi said as he headed back to his car.
"Yes, sir!", the officer replied with a nod before walking off to another officer on the scene.
Tsukauchi started up his car and drove off back to the station while dialing up his phone.
"Hello?", a male voice said on the other end of the call.
"I was just at the crime scene in Yamanashi Prefecture." Tsukauchi explained. "A Villain attempted to mug two civilians when a foreigner appeared and transformed into some sort of creature before biting the Villain's head clean off of them."
"What?!", the voice exclaimed, "Has anyone else been informed of what happened?"
"I'm on my way back to the station to notify the Hero Agencies of the situation." Tsukauchi replied. "And since this was in the Yamanashi Prefecture, I will need to ensure that Gran Torino is informed first since it's his town of residence."
"But that's where Midorya is doing his internship!", the voice said, "If you get into contact with Gran Torino, then to him to cancel Midoryia's internship!"
"That shouldn't be necessary, All-Might." Tsukauchi said. "Gran Torino is experienced and still powerful enough at his age to protect Midoriya, not to mention we have recent intel that suggests that the creature is no longer in the area."
The person on the other end, now known as the current Number One Hero All-Might, sighed in relief.
"I suppose that's a bit of good news…", he said, "But I will still keep an eye out."
"Of course, feel free to tell your colleague and the principal at U.A. about this individual." Tsukauchi said.
"Right. Thank you very much, Tsukauchi.", All-Might said. "Is there anything else I should know about this creature?"
"We may have a murderous Vigilante on our hands, witnesses said the individual left the victims alone and even advised them to go home where it was safe." Tsukauchi retorted.
"Certainly not the first one I've heard of…", All-Might commented, "Anyway, I have to continue grading school work. I'll be sure to contact you once I see or hear anything about the Vigilante."
"Alright, take care All-Might." Tsukauchi said before hanging up on the Symbol of Peace as he headed back to the station.
A few hours had passed since Eddie and Venom had saved a local couple from a weird mugger with strange abilities that seemed like something out of a comic book. On their trek across the Yamanashi Prefecture, they were able to find one of Japan's famous bullet trains and decided to hitch a ride onto wherever its path led. It was after midnight when the Lethal Protector arrived at Hosu City, a ward in western Tokyo.
"Holy shit, those bullet trains really are as fast as the internet says they are!" Venom exclaimed as they exited one of the train carts.
"Three hundred and twenty kilometers per hour, as fast as formula one race cars." Eddie remarked as they walked into the station while trying to avoid any unneeded attention.
"I have noticed something, Eddie." Venom said.
"And what's that, pal?" Eddie asked.
"The people, the signs, the televisions and art, they're all about superheroes!" Venom retorted.
"Well that's what Japan is like, buddy, they're really into their anime, video games and merchandise." Eddie said, also spotting more and more superhero related memorabilia. "It's everywhere in this country."
"Yes, but Eddie, do you know how many times I've spotted any popular anime being advertised here in Japan? Not once, Eddie, not once! Where is One Piece, Naruto or Dragon Ball?! Shouldn't they be here given how big they are?!" Venom exclaimed angrily.
"Well, maybe we arrived here while they were celebrating a superhero themed series, and this is all just promotional material for an upcoming anime." Eddie said, trying to rationalize what they saw.
"EDDIE! We ate a man who could shoot nails out of his fingers for fuck sake! I had my suspicions when I felt the air of this place, but I think my suspicions are correct!" Venom argued.
"What? What suspicions?" Eddie asked before he heard what sounded like electricity crackling about loudly nearby followed by a loud crash.
Eddie and Venom rushed towards what looked like a growing crowd of people who were watching something take place on a different station platform. On this platform, the two could see a woman shooting out blasts of light blue electricity from her hair towards a one-eyed, blue man with horns like a bull that was wearing a sleeveless black shirt and grey pants.
The woman herself appeared to have dark skin and blue hair with a large braid running down her back. She wore a skin-tight suit that was a darker blue with patterns highlighted in a brighter blue, exposing her arms and went all the way down to her upper thigh while wearing knee-high boots. She also had gauntlets with connected wires running on her arms and went towards the back of her suit. The horned blue man was trying to withstand the thousands of volts coursing through his body, but as he got close enough to the woman, he tried to slam her into the ground with his fist. She simply dodged to the side as the man's fist cracked the street behind her before continuing to blast the Villain with electricity, but added more voltage by also shooting from gauntlets. With the horned man howling in more pain as a result while still trying to fight against the woman.
Eddie was in disbelief at what he was seeing. Not only was there a woman in a costume blasting electricity from her hair but also a blue one-eyed man with horns fighting her. This really did feel like he and Venom had stepped into a comic book.
"What the fuck is going on here? These people, they're just like Shriek! They have powers!" Eddie exclaimed, trying to keep his voice down.
"I knew something was off! I should have suspected it when we saw that asshole shoot nails out of his fingers and all of this superhero shit!" Venom said inside of Eddie's mind.
"Just out with it already, man! What is going on?!" Eddie asked frantically.
As the blue man with horns stood up he tried to swipe at the woman that was shocking him, but it was slow and he was starting to lose his balance, so he was only able to swipe at the air in front of her. His breathing was heavy and he was losing focus of what was going on around him. The woman then sprinted towards him, jumping up and roundhouse kicked the horned Villain on the side of his head. He sprawled a few feet away from the crowd and was down on the ground completely unconscious. The woman then ran up to him in order to be sure that he was completely knocked out and after a few seconds, she was able to determine that he was out. The crowd started to cheer and smile as they took photos and footage on their phone and even addressed the electrified woman from afar.
"Yes, Thundermane took down Minotaurus once again!"
"Hey, awesome job Thundermane!"
"You go, girl! That's the Number Fifteen Hero for ya!"
The heroine known as Thundermane then smiled and waved at the crowd taking pictures of her. She even posed for the crowd by leaning to one side, placing one hand on her hip, and held out a thumbs up with her other hand while small currents of electricity were coming out of her thumb.
Eddie felt ignorant and helpless as he listened to the crowds call out who they called a hero, this woman with electric powers, and tried to process the revelation that Venom would give him.
"Eddie, we are indeed in Japan, but not our Japan…"
The room was dimly lit though you could make out various details such as the structure and framework looking to be techno organic and have a pulsating look to them. Various screens made of hard-light appeared to light up more of the room as symbols and parameters appeared on them in a language or dialect unlike any from the planet. A tall figure appeared in the room and walked towards the screens, showing that the figure was mostly black, wearing what looked similar to a bodysuit and a helmet. The most notable details were the lime green arms, wide v shaped symbol on his helmet and chest and shoulders as well as red lens on the helmet with green outlines and two valves with green outlines on the sides of the helmet. They interacted with the screens before they came up on what looked like an alert, which happened to be footage, pressing on it to view what they were sent.
The footage which played for the black and green clad figure looked like an alleyway covered in trash, to which a rift opened up and out came a familiar looking man, then later down the line the familiar man transformed into a certain black creature and devoured the head of another human. The black and green figure was now interested as he then dialled a sequence into the screens.
"This is Sleeper, we appear to have a visitor from another universe. I am on route to the Alpha Quadrant and heading to Earth to determine whether this child of Knull is hostile…"

The reason why I chose to make it so that Venom eating the mugger's brain allowed him and Eddie knowledge of the Japanese language is because of a few reasons:
1. Is it canonically established that devouring people makes a symbiote stronger.
2. If symbiotes can see the memories and adapt the skills of their host due to their brain, then it makes sense that they can also do so with the brains they've eaten.
3. If the hive mind of the symbiotes can be shared with their hosts, then it's plausible to say that not only would Venom learn Japanese from eating a Japanese person, but could give that knowledge to Eddie.
Why did I choose to start the story during the Internship Arc? Well that's because I want Venom to run into a certain character, guess who that is in the reviews.
If you also were wondering, Thundermane is an OC created by my co-author, however she is not going to be the main focus of the story, canon characters are the focus.
