Hey there guys, UltimateDemonBeast65 back again with the next chapter of MVA: Symbiote's Justice! I can't tell you guys enough how awesome it has been to see so many reviews, follows and favourites on the first chapter alone, thank you so much and I promise to work on this story as much as possible. And now I'm going to take a page from one of my friends and respond to some of these reviews:
Taiwoeretan1: You'll know the answer if you are familiar with the character that appears at the end of the first chapter
Trux-Killer: You gave two reviews, so I'll answer both.
1. Thanks for the suggestion to make Venom's dialogue bold, it does help to identify who's speaking. Glad to see you got the reference I was making too.
2. Maybe along the line I might do that as a joke or skit.
Digidestined0252: I could see myself possibly doing the cameo later on, so thanks for the suggestion.
Guests: There are 3 guests who left reviews so I will answer all three of them. If you are also reading this chapter, maybe make an account or give me an alias to put you under.
1. Thanks for the feedback, Sleeper is a character who is very interesting to me and different from the other spawns of Venom.
2. Mineta is not my favourite character and while I don't exactly have a huge hate boner for him, he just isn't interesting. He's just your obligatory anime pervert who actually comes off as worse because unlike other pervert characters who have depth or strengths to them, Mineta is just a worthless coward who despite apparently having an above average intelligence is just not heroic or doesn't have the character development to be compelling.
3. Thank you for the feedback, hope you stick around for more.
SpideyFan2001: Thank you for your feedback, dude! While All-Might and Venom probably might not fight, I would definitely like to do interactions between the two.
With that out of the way, enjoy the chapter!
Kamino, one of the wards in Yokohama, the second-largest city in Japan which is located south of the capital of Tokyo. Known for possessing quite a large Chinatown as well as a botanical park containing preserved Japanese residences from different eras, it was also where a certain hideout was located, the hideout of the infamous League of Villains, a group dedicated to destroying Pro Heroes and throwing society into chaos. Within this hideout was a nicely made and refined bar where members lie low and enjoy beverages served by Kurogiri, a man whose body appeared to be made of purple vapour and smoke. Currently, there was an individual who was pinning down one of their members with an intent to kill.
The man had fair skin and black messy hair and his face was disfigured, having a large jaw and a lack of a nose, just nostrils and red eyes that looked at others with hate. He wore a red headband and scarf as well as a white ninja mask and black and grey tactical gear such as a flak jacket, belts and combat boots with spikes on the tips. He also carried various bladed weapons like a katana, daggers and knives. He was a former Vigilante turned serial killer, known by Japan as the Hero Killer Stain.
The one Stain had pinned down was a lanky man with sickly skin and white messy and unkempt hair with a blue tint to it. He wore a black long sleeved shirt and pants with red and white sneakers but the most curious thing about him was there was a grey hand that covered his face like a mask with a yellow two holed plug on its end where one could possibly connect wires to. This weird man was none other than the League of Villains leader and the protégé of the world's greatest Villain, Tomura Shigaraki.
"So you want me to be a part of your crumbling little league?" Stain said with a gruff tone. "But you won't accomplish anything if you don't have conviction and desire. Without those, you'll always be a nameless weakling, achieving nothing. That's how you got here!"
Shigaraki let out a pained but nervous laugh before speaking to Stain with a raspy and nasally tone.
"Hey now, you're being a little rough, aren't you? Kurogiri, take this guy back."
Kurogiri, whose body was enveloped by purple vapour and smoke and had yellow glowing eyes and wore attire fitting for a butler or barista, however had a cut in his arm and was for some reason paralysed.
"I'm sorry, I can't move. It must be the Hero Killer's Quirk at work." Kurogiri said with a distorted voice.
"The word 'Hero' has lost all meaning in this society. The world is overrun by fakes, criminals like you who chase petty dreams. They must all be purged." Stain said coldly as he brought one of his knives against Shigaraki's neck, however the Villain instead was able to grab the knife with one of his hands.
"What do you think you're doing? If you touch this palm…" Shigaraki said as the knife he grabbed started to crack like glass. "... I'll kill you."
Stain was visibly shocked at the sight of Shigaraki slowly shattering his knife with the leader of the League of Villains' Quirk as it also blackened and decayed before his eyes.
"You sure talk a lot, Hero Killer." Shigaraki said as he turned the knife into dust. "Conviction, maybe I don't have anything as loaded as that. If I had to choose a desire though…yeah… It'd be killing All-Might. If this world wants to worship trash like him, I'll destroy their beloved Symbol of Peace and then crush them while they're in shock!"
These words made Stain glared at Shigaraki with disgust before he quickly leapt out of the way of the Villain's attempt at swiping at him before landing and keeping up his defenses should the pale haired man-child attack again, seeing Shigaraki rise up from the ground.
"The last of my injuries was finally about to finish healing, and now this." Shigaraki said, showing his bleeding arm to Stain while scratching his neck. "You should learn not to play with knives, we don't have a healer in our party, you know."
"I see your nature." Stain said, finally speaking up to the neurotic Villain. "It seems our goals fundamentally oppose each other. However, this wasn't in vain, we agree that we need to destroy the present…"
"I'm over this…" Shigaraki said in a whiny tone. "Leave, drop dead. I'm the kinda person you hate most, right?"
"I was testing your motives." Stain said, putting away his knives. "People always show their true colours when on the verge of death. It's abnormal, but there is desire, a warped sprout of conviction inside of you. How will it bloom in the end I wonder? Maybe I'll let you grow, if you don't turn out well I'll take care of you later."
"You think you could get rid of me?" Shigaraki asked Stain with a puzzled and insulted tone.
"I'm free…" Kurogiri said to himself as he felt movement return to his body.
"Kurogiri, someone as crazy as this would be nothing but a problem for the League of Villains." Shigaraki said to his confidant.
"Please reconsider, this man will be a great asset if he joins us." Kurogiri pleaded with Shigaraki. "I'd say this was a success."
"My business here is done. Now, you'll return me to Hosu." Stain said before licking his lips ravenously. "There are still several false Heroes I must attend to there."
Back in Hosu City, Eddie was currently sitting outside a noodle shop as he and his symbiote companion Venom had come to the conclusion that they were not just in Japan, but a Japan from another universe entirely. Eddie sat there, fiddling with a pair of chopsticks as he played with his cup of ramen, letting out an exhausted sigh.
"So let me try and see if I can piece this together." Eddie said before taking a deep breath. "This Japan isn't our Japan but a Japan in another universe."
"Yes, we are in a different universe now, Eddie, I already told you that." Venom said with a groan as he listened to his host.
"And in this universe, most of mankind have a superpower they call a Quirk." Eddie said as he started to eat some of his ramen.
"Yet another shitty name that's worse than Lethal Protector!" Venom exclaimed. "And how are superpowers quirky? That's just stupid!"
"So when criminals and bad people used their Quirks for evil, other people came along and use their Quirks to defeat him and in turn created the first real life superheroes, who unlike in the comics are licensed and professional agents who work alongside law enforcement to fight and capture superpowered criminals they have labelled 'Villains'." Eddie said before he finished up his ramen.
"Heroes and Villains, superpowers and fighting crime, this world is quite the crazy party, Eddie! Maybe we should become a Hero too, the Lethal Protector going pro!" Venom said with delight.
"Well that would be kind of complicated on account of the fact that we, oh I don't know, kill and eat people which is illegal in all universes!" Eddie argued, trying to keep his voice down.
"Hmm, maybe you're right! The Pros don't have the guts to take a life in order to save them!" Venom retorted.
"That's not the point, man, the point is doing the right thing and obeying the law! If these Pro Heroes are working with the police then they can't break the law when working with them." Eddie said as he decided to leave the noodle shop. "Being licensed means having more accountability, more responsibility for the people around you, especially if civilians get hurt from your actions."
"Well fuck that! I want us to be able to kill our Villains!" Venom shouted.
"Then that makes us a Vigilante, and using Quirks without a license is illegal, Einstein." Eddie said.
"But Eddie, we do not have a Quirk." Venom countered. "I am a symbiote and my abilities are as natural as a Quirkless human."
"Well, we'll be sure to tell the authorities and Heroes when they catch us biting into a Villain's brain." Eddie remarked, being careful not to bump into other people. "So what now? Shouldn't we look into ways of getting back home?"
"We don't even know why this happened, Eddie, and I doubt this Earth has technology advanced enough to pierce between realities." Venom replied.
"So what do we do then? We can't just stay here, we have a life back in our universe." Eddie argued.
"We were on the run from the police, Eddie, Anne married Dan and Mulligan was in the ICU." Venom retorted. "At least we have a fresh start here."
"Yeah, and what if we run into a Hero or Villain who uses fire or sound? What then, Venom? Cause I doubt we have immunity just because we're from another universe." Eddie retorted back.
"Then we will crush their windpipe and tear out their skull before they get the chance!" Venom yelled.
"No! Villains I can be party to, but we're not killing Heroes. Remember, you can only kill or eat the bad guys, that was our deal, pal!" Eddie reminded the symbiote as they entered what looked like an alleyway. "Now let's try and find somewhere to lie low…"
"Pussy…" Venom said in annoyance.
Back in the Yamanashi Prefecture and inside a specific apartment building with worn out walls, railing and patchwork repairs, Midoriya was in the middle of training with the Hero that he requested him for Work Studies. He was a small old man with messy faded blonde hair and a neck beard and wore a black domino mask and a white and yellow costume with a yellow cape, gloves and boots with holes in its soles similar to a salt shaker. This old man was Sorahiko Torino, better known as Pro Hero Gran Torino who once taught at U.A. for a single year in order to train a younger All-Might.
Gran Torino was moving at blinding speeds with his Quirk, which allowed him to release powerful blasts of air from holes on the bottom of his feet. He was currently moving around his apartment, ricocheting off walls and furniture in order to force Midoriya into a tense situation to test out the new technique he developed the other night. It was called Full Cowling which rather than channelling and releasing One For All's power in a single point in his body, the technique channels and radiates the energy of the Quirk through his entire body, enhancing his physical abilities without the threat of injuring him from the sheer force.
Midoriya side-stepped Gran Torino when he lunged at him, but Gran Torino simply landed and propelled himself again across the room.
"Gotta keep the five percent going…and attack!" Midoriya thought as he chased after Gran Torino, only for the old man to ricochet off the door and land a flying kick on the Hero-in training that sent him back first into the wall.
"We should switch up the training." Gran Torino said, looking at his student. "If you get too used to fighting against my distant tactics, you might develop some weird habits."
"What habits?! I'm just trying to keep up with you right now!" Mirdoriya exclaimed, as blood ran down his face and mouth. "Please, let me fight more!"
"Nope, we're done here." Gran Torino said, forming a grin on his face. "Change into your costume, boy. We're moving onto phase two."
"Huh?" Midoriya said weakly.
A few minutes had passed and Midoriya had finally suited up in his green and black costume, looking at Gran Torino dumbfounded as the old man held his cane up into the air.
"Hope you're ready…" Gran Torino said with a smile. "...we're going out to fight some Villains."
Midoriya gasped in surprise at this news.
"What, just like that?!"
"If you only fight against me, you'll be in trouble when you come across someone who's the complete opposite." Gran Torino explained as he walked off the veranda of the apartment. "The key is to let you get experience with different types of Villains and situations. This is an internship after all, you really shouldn't be that surprised by this."
"I get what you're saying and I totally agree, but I still think I need more time to prepare myself." Midoriya said nervously, clutching his chest.
"From what I heard you've already been in combat with some real Villains. You'll be just fine, we aren't going to go after anyone that big." Gran Torino explained as he stuck his hand out to hail a taxi, which fortunately they were able to acquire. "It won't do us any good hanging around here. Because of the small population in this area, the crime rate is pretty low. That's why there are so many Hero Agencies in urban areas, there's a lot more crime there. The higher the population density, the more trouble you'll find."
Gran Torino then paused his explanation, as he remembered the phone call he had the other night which informed him of an incident in their area where a supposed Vigilante had killed and even eaten a Villain who tried to mug a local couple.
"Should I tell the boy about the incident? I know Detective Tsukauchi said that the individual was no longer in the Yamanashi Prefecture, but what if we end up running into them when on patrol? Is he ready to take on someone that bloodthirsty?"
"Gran Torino, sir? Is something wrong?" Midoriya asked, wondering why his teacher had stopped talking.
"It's nothing you should worry yourself with, boy." Gran Torino replied. "Now where was I? Oh right, now in Shibuya, we'll have plenty of small fights to break up, I guarantee."
"Wait, you mean we're going to Shibuya in Tokyo? I'm not so sure my Hero costume is hip enough." Midoriya said blushing as he looked down at his costume.
"That costume of yours tells everyone you're a hero. You should be happy that you get to display it in such a bright spotlight." Gran Torino said.
"Hold on, are we going to be taking the bullet train towards Shinjuku?" Midoriya asked.
"Yup." Gran Torino simply replied.
Midoriya looked out the window as he retreated to his thoughts.
"We'll pass Hosu City. I wonder how Iida is doing there. I'll try to message him later…"
The sun was settling on Hosu City, as the Hero Killer Stain watched the sun lower from the sky as he was perched on a water tower atop one of the buildings. A black portal with purple hue opened up from behind the serial killer to which Shigaraki stepped out to greet Stain.
"Hosu City looks nicer than I expected. So, what are you gonna do?"
"I will reform it.", Stain replied with a part of his tongue sticking out, "In order to do so, blood must spill."
"You have a clear goal. Your dedication is admirable.", Kurogiri complimented.
"Ah, finally, someone who understands." Stain said.
"I get the feeling you enjoy picking on me." Shigaraki remarked.
"Hero is a title for those who have accomplished great deeds! This city is full of false champions, all they care about is money and fame! Until this world realises its mistakes…"
Stain reached for his katana as he gazed out into the city.
"... I will continue my work!"
Stain pulled the katana out of its sheath before he leapt into action, jumping off the water tower and went on his rampage, his mission to purge the world of false Heroes.
"He talks all high and mighty and stuff, but he's wasting his time focusing on a small stage." Shigaraki said, "He's so noble, I could cry."
"You shouldn't spurn his methods.", Kurogiri stated, "The reality is in all the cities Stain has appeared, the crime rates have fallen. Perhaps because Heroes are more conscientious or perhaps out of fear. Regardless, he does bring change."
"Oh, isn't that just wonderful?" Shigaraki said sarcastically. "Heroes are working harder thanks to all those murders! I guess you can say that our "Hero Killer" is also a "Hero Breeder"! This is getting boring, it won't work. We just can't agree on a basic level. And he annoys me. Kurogiri, bring out the Nomus."
Kurogiri used his Quirk, Warp Gate, to open another portal in which three humanoid creatures emerged from the portal. All three wore pants and had exposed brains but were different in appearance. One was small with grey skin and four eyes on the side lobes of the brain, one was huge with black skin and several lacerations on his body with no upper jaw or face and was simply an exposed brain with a lower jaw. The last one had pale skin with wings that had small tears and holes on its back and wore a gas mask on its lower face.
"You think you can get away with stabbing me? When I get tired of you, I'll kill you. Whenever I feel like it, just like that, Stain." Shigaraki said with anger in his sickly voice before letting out a chuckle. "But let's make it more interesting. How about I crush your honour and your pride first, what do you say, 'Big Bad Hero Killer'?"
Eddie was inside what appeared to be an internet café as he sat at one of the computer desks and started to search online for any possible answers or solutions for getting back home.
"I gotta hand it to you, Venom, if we didn't eat that Villain we wouldn't understand most of the shit on these sites."
"See? Eating people sometimes is the answer to our problems!" Venom exclaimed excitedly.
"Many Worlds Hypothesis… Multiverse Theory…wormholes…particle accelerator, none of these things have been proven or tested here, just theories!" Eddie said frustrated. "They really did decide to stop advancing science in other areas, it's now mainly just for Heroes and Quirks!"
"They're obsessed, just like Otakus are with anime!" Venom said. "Maybe there is a Quirk that can get us home?"
"If there was, people would have said something already, they'd be evidence of its existence!" Eddie argued.
"We both know they'd never reveal such power to the public, Eddie. Remember Carlton Drake and what he was trying to do with Riot and my kind?" Venom asked.
"Yeah, yeah I remember him and the Life Foundation, wanting to have the symbiotes invade my planet and feed on the human race! I was there, Venom! And I remember….that he kept his agendas secret too…" Eddie said as he let out a sigh before leaving the internet café and drank the last of his coffee. "Well I'm out of ideas, what about you?"
"Maybe if I tap into the symbiote hive mind, I can learn if there's a way back to our universe." Venom suggested.
"No, last time you tried that, we ended up here! No tapping into hive knowledge!" Eddie exclaimed before he heard a noise nearby. "Did you hear that…?"
"It sounded like…lightning…" Venom replied as he and Eddie carefully moved towards the sound, while also seeing flashes of blue and yellow light go off.
As they got closer, the sound of metal clashing and clanging could now be heard as Eddie did his best to not trip on objects and trash on the ground. Down the alleyway, two figures could be seen fighting each other, both appearing as silhouettes from the flashes of light the duo saw. One appeared to have a feminine figure with long hair while the other was masculine and could be seen having a long and torn scarf and holding a sword in his hand.
"There's a fight going on in this alley…" Eddie said as he got closer and closer, until he could finally see who it was that was fighting, and saw a man with a red scarf and blades fight someone who made Eddie sigh upon seeing a familiar face.
"Thundermane?" Venom asked.
"Thundermane." Eddie replied.
"But who is the albino Ninja Turtle?" Venom asked.
They could then see her hair and gauntlets glow before shooting bolts of electricity at scarf clad swordsman, but he was able to dodge them and tossed a throwing knife at Thundermane's face. She blocked it with her gauntlet but she could then feel a cut suddenly tear through her waist and a stab on her shoulder. From a brief glance, she saw one knife fly behind while the other was deep into her shoulder before turning back to face the Hero Killer, who closed the gap between each other during that small period of time. Thundermane charged her hair and desperately shot out another bolt at the swordsman, who dodged once again before stabbing her in her other shoulder before kicking her away while pulling his sword out. She tried to continue the fight with the swordsman but then found herself unable to move and was kneeling on the ground while barely holding herself up with her arms. Looking upwards while gritting her teeth in pain, Thundermane caught a glimpse of the swordsman licking her blood off of his damaged blade.
"Damn…you…", she groaned in anger.
"On that fateful day when my eyes were opened to the corruption and machinations of the modern world, I swore to purge this world of false Heroes, Heroes like you who seek fame and money rather than altruism and morality for your actions." Stain said as he raised his katana up. "I don't care if my prey is young or old, male or female, I will slay you with the same level of conviction and hate!"
"So what if I did…do all of this for money?", Thundermane asked as she tried to clench her fingers, "If you really knew my life and my motives, then you'd know where I've sent most of the money I earned, you bloodthirsty lunatic!"
"If you wanted to make money, you should have picked a different career." Stain said with a sinister glare. "Any last words, fake Hero?"
"My family and community back home would never forgive you for what you're about to do…", Thundermane replied with anger in her voice and a tear formed on one of her eyes as she stared back at him, "Hope you get dragged down to Hell…"
"So be it, goodbye scum." Stain said as he brought his sword down upon Thundermane, who closed her eyes as she was bracing for her death.
"HEY!"
Stain then stopped moving his sword and turned to Eddie, who had a look of both anger and nervousness on his face. Thundermane also glanced at where the voice came from after she opened her eyes.
"You have no business here, civilian, now get lost before I change my mind." Stain said in an authoritative tone, trying to control the frustration of being interrupted.
"Yeah, that's not gonna happen, pal. Guys like me, we don't exactly run when someone is in trouble." Eddie said, trying to sound brave in front of the Hero Killer.
"In trouble? You mean you wish to save this false champion?" Stain asked, his glare now locking onto Eddie.
"I mean, I don't know anything about false champions but I do know that this lady saved people's lives yesterday." Eddie said.
"Only to fuel her own greed and desire for attention and fame!" Stain retorted. "A real Hero is selfless and pure, someone who saves lives solely for the benefit of mankind! But society has forgotten the true role of Heroes and so I must cleanse it to make our kind stronger."
"This guy's a creep, Eddie! Just like Kasady except he thinks he's the Hero!" Venom remarked in disgust.
"Oh so you know this woman then? Do you follow her career and know her history?" Eddie asked Stain.
"She's one of them, the modern era's fake Heroes." Stain replied as he gripped his katana tighter before he took a step closer to Eddie. "By your tone, you're one of her fans, a mindless sheep like the rest of the masses."
"Woah, easy there." Eddie said nervously. "I don't even really know her, other than just hearing about her."
"Then why step in to save her?" Stain asked as his anger rose.
"Because that's what a good person does, protects people who can't protect themselves." Eddie said boldly.
"Hmm, wise words for someone who wishes to save such scum." Stain said as he prepared to take Eddie's life. "Maybe in another life, you could have been a Hero…"
"Guess you're not going to walk away then?" Eddie asked sheepishly.
"You think you can take me as you are now? You're more foolish and suicidal than I thought you were." Stain said as he licked his lips in anticipation.
"Alright then, mask!" Eddie shouted.
"Copy!" Venom shouted as he enveloped Eddie's body and transformed before Stain and Thundermane's eyes.
Stain's eyes widened, surprised by the seemingly weird man's sudden transformation into this black creature.
"What is this? He looks similar to those things the League of Villains unleashed in Hosu." He thought as he had his guard up.
Thundermane, who was still paralysed from Stain using his Quirk, also widened her eyes in shock at the transformation. She then realised that Eddie was the Vigilante that she was informed about a day after apprehending Minotaurus.
"Holy shit, that's him?!", she thought.
"Eddie warned you, but you didn't listen! So now it's time to rumble, crazy man!" Venom exclaimed as his grin widened.
Stain then dashed towards Venom and swung his katana across his chest. He also used his free hand to quickly draw his dagger and stabbed the transformed Symbiote on his waist. Venom instinctively dodged the katana though when the dagger made contact with his body, it broke in two as if it was hitting reinforced metal.
"What?!" Stain exclaimed in disbelief before he took his throwing knife and tossed it towards Venom's chest.
The knife was bent upon hitting Venom's body and fell to the ground while the Lethal Protector snarled in delight.
"My dagger broke against his skin when I tried to stab him, and my throwing knife was bent upon impact!" Stain thought. "This black substance…it must be some sort of biological armour! But how do I pierce it?"
Venom rushed towards Stain and attempted to land a right hook, but the Hero Killer dodged the punch which caused the symbiote to instead blow a hole in one of the walls of the alleyway. Venom quickly removed his hand from the wall before he tried a left hook on Stain, who dodged his other punch too.
"This guy is fast, thank god he can't cut through you, buddy!" Eddie said as he watched Venom fight.
"Stay still, you psychopath! Let me hit you!" Venom yelled as he morphed his arm into a large black tendril which he smacked the Hero Killer with, knocking them into the opposite wall.
Stain recovered and tossed his throwing daggers at Venom, before propelling himself off of the wall and slashed at him with his katana again. Venom however caught the katana with his hand before he landed an uppercut on Stain's face, hitting him into a wall again before generating tendrils out of his arms to ensnare the Hero Killer. However, he quickly ducked out of the tendrils' reach before he tried to throw his dagger at the paralysed Thundermane, but the Lethal Protector quickly caught the dagger in mid-air and threw it right back at Stain, hitting him in the side of his torso. Even if the wound wasn't deep, it drew blood and hit with enough force to cut through his flak jacket, causing Stain to grasp his damaged area and grit his teeth in anger.
"I was dodging his punches before, how the hell did he catch my dagger?! Was he toying with me and hiding his true speed?" Stain thought as he stared at Venom as his anger boiled.
"You move quite fast for a human…" Venom remarked before licking his lips with a tongue that made Stain's own look tiny in comparison. "But we are faster, stronger and hungrier!"
"We only cut the side of his body." Eddie said.
"It still counts!" Venom argued.
"Your Quirk is impressive, powerful enough to make my blades look like cardboard when they touch your body." Stain said, trying his best to keep composed as his gaze never left Venom. "What the hell are you? Are you from the League of Villains? No, you came here to save this woman, something that they would never do…so tell me this, who or what are you?"
Venom leaned in closer to Stain's face, to which half of his head appeared to peel off and revealed Eddie underneath him, his eye staring back at Stain and no longer having fear but determination.
"We…are Venom!" The host and symbiote said collectively, sounding almost like a legion of demons speaking all at once.
Stain felt a sensation, a feeling sprout into his mind. It was something that he didn't think he would feel again, not in many years. Was Stain actually afraid? Did Venom somehow strike fear into the Hero Killer's heart? When Thundermane heard first the report about Eddie and Venom, she thought that it was just the Sludge Villain but as a Vigilante that liked to kill Villains, thinking that she would easily be able to apprehend him if he was ever nearby. But witnessing that the Vigilante was holding off Stain without much effort, Thundermane was left speechless as she was still paralysed. Stain was too fast for her attacks, but now she's seeing that this creature was able to surpass the Hero Killer in every way. Since that's the case, would she be really able to capture Venom? Would they have killed her and anybody that gets in their way along with devouring the evil-doers?
"Can I bite his face off now, Eddie?" Venom asked as his face closed back up.
"He should be turned in, just like Kasady was." Eddie replied.
"You're no fun…" Venom said before a large cloud of smoke enveloped them. "What the fuck?!"
When the smoke had finally cleared, Stain was nowhere to be seen.
"Where the hell is he? Was that a smoke bomb?" Eddie asked, starting to panic.
"He escaped!" Venom yelled before he angrily picked up a nearby garbage can and threw it quite the distance out of the alleyway. "We should have just eaten him, Eddie!"
"We? You should have stopped him from escaping! You could have tied him up or pinned him down!" Eddie argued.
Thundermane groaned in pain as she stood up, no longer feeling the effects of Stain's Quirk and pulled out the throwing knife that was lodged in her shoulder before dropping it. She was curious about the Vigilante and wanted to talk to him, especially since he…or they, practically saved her. But she remembered that she had a job to do and got out her phone.
"You know…even though you saved me, which I am grateful for by the way, salamat.", she stated with a small smile before changing to a serious expression, "You're still going to be pursued by the other Pro Heroes, you know that right?"
Venom looked over to Thundermane before he took a few steps closer to her, watching her with his large white eyes.
"They can try." He said in a darker tone.
"Being strong enough to scare off the Hero Killer won't be enough to withstand against the others.", Thundermane stated while standing up against him, suppressing her fear of the Symbiote, "You will be caught soon enough."
"Maybe." Eddie said as half of Venom's face opened up to reveal his host on the inside. "But for what it's worth, I have nothing but respect for what you guys do, given how 'heroes' are treated where I come from…"
"By 'where I come from', I assume you're talking about America, right?" Thundermane asked with an eyebrow raised, "Because last time I checked, the Pro Heroes over there don't bite the heads off of Villains."
"No, that's more just his thing." Eddie said. "I would explain more but you wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"I'm sure no one would.", Thundermane remarked while crossing her arms, briefly glancing at the stab wound on her other shoulder.
Before either one could say or do anything more, there was an explosion nearby which caught both the Pro Hero and Lethal Protector's eyes. Before they could register, the two were struck with enough force to throw them into the streets of Hosu, closer to where the destruction and carnage was taking place.
"What the hell was that?!" Eddie exclaimed.
"Something hit us, Eddie!" Venom yelled as he closed his face back up to protect his host and looked at a downed Thundermane. "Are you alright, lady?"
"I'm fine.", Thundermane replied with a cough as she quickly stood back up, "What was that?"
Venom then turned to the direction of their aggressor, who was a large black muscular humanoid creature with light blue jeans and grey shin guards. They had lacerations all over their body and had an exposed brain and lower jaw but not upper head or eyes. This was a Nomu.
"That is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen…" Eddie said, fighting the urge to vomit at the sight of the creature with no eyes or upper facial features.
"There are more of them…?" Thundermane muttered in disbelief, but charged up electricity in her gauntlets and hair.
"Wait." Venom said as he stood in front of Thundermane. "Let us handle this, you're still injured from that creep."
"My wounds aren't that bad.", Thundermane insisted with a glare, "Besides, I kind of feel like I owe you one."
"Don't blame me if you die." Venom said before he let out a snarl.
The eyeless Nomu charged at the two, swinging its left fist with a sweeping motion. Thundermane moved out of the way and blasted multiple lightning bolts at the Nomu's chest, but the Nomu powered through the lightning bolts and tried hitting her with their right fist but was blocked by Venom who in turn landed a punch to their collarbone that blew them back a few feet. The eyeless Nomu had a large burn across his chest which started to close up and heal over.
"Shit! This Nomu can also heal itself pretty quickly!", Thundermane stated as she charged up once more, "We'll have to attack it faster than it can regenerate!"
"So try and damage it faster than it can heal…" Venom said as he rushed at the eyeless Nomu.
The Lethal Protector swiped at the Nomu, who in turn blocked the attack before trying to punch Venom in the face. Venom however weaved around the punch before grabbing the Nomu's arm and threw him into a street light. Venom rushed at the Nomu once more, striking him a few times across the torso with his clawed fingertips, tearing into their flesh. The Number 15 Hero was surprised once again at the murderous Vigilante's abilities, seeing that he was able to more damage against the Nomu than she expected. She cleared her thoughts by shaking her head and had fully charged up her gauntlets, ready to attack the eyeless Nomu as they were glowing with bright blue electricity.
"Get out of the way, Venom!", Thundermane called out as she ran closer towards the Nomu.
Venom side-stepped out of Thundermane's way, watching as she lunged towards the eyeless Nomu.
"Overcharged Thunder Clap!" Thundermane yelled, smacking her hands together that then shot out a large wall of electricity from her gauntlets, washing over the eyeless Nomu.
The eyeless Nomu was enveloped by the intense electricity as its body was then fried and mutilated like a burnt piece of meat. Venom's grin widened at the thought of possibly eating the fried brain of this Nomu, however the eyeless monster soon started to regenerate, to which the Lethal Protector tried to ensnare them with several tendrils, wrapping around their limbs and neck. Venom then proceeded to pull on the tendrils, intent on ripping the Nomu into pieces. The eyeless Nomu shrieked audibly as its limbs were being pulled apart slowly by the symbiote's tendrils.
"Damn, he really is that powerful, huh?" Thundermane wondered to herself with both amazement and fear as she watched Venom tearing open the Nomu.
Venom's grin got smaller though when he saw the eyeless Nomu's body was actually contorting and shifting, forcing Venom to let go, and soon enough it happened: The eyeless Nomu had somehow spawned three smaller duplicates of itself.
"This thing can make copies of itself?!" Eddie exclaimed.
"What?!" Thundermane yelled in disbelief.
"Oh, this just got BETTER!" Venom yelled as his grin got wider. "More brains to snack on!"
The eyeless Nomu and its smaller clones roared before they charged at Venom and Thundermane. Venom, with the same grin, charged at the swarm of Nomu as he ensnared one of them with his tendrils, reeled it in and in the blink of an eye bit down on their head and swallowed their brain whole as blood and brain matter sprayed around them. Thundermane shielded herself a bit from the blood before charging up her hair once again and shot out a volley of bolts, killing another one of the clones by a bolt directly striking its brain from above, which then blew up the Nomu clone's brain. Venom dropped the dead body of the Nomu clone before he leaped onto the third one and tore its arms off before throwing it into Thundermane's direction. She then created a large ball of electricity and blasted it at the Nomu clone, completely burning it and its brain blew up as well.
"HAHAHAHAHAA! This is glorious!" Venom yelled as he sprinted over to the original eyeless Nomu who attempted to throw a small truck at a group of civilians.
Venom shoulder tackled the Nomu into a bus stop, forcing him to let go of the small truck, to which Venom caught it in mid-air and sat it down behind him. The eyeless Nomu stood back up from its collision and charged and tackled at the Lethal Protector, only for Venom to stop them mid-tackle and backhanded them into the road before ensnaring one of their legs with a tendril and with his impressive strength started to swing the Nomu around like he was spinning a shot put or mace and chain. Venom roared before he let the eyeless Nomu go, hurling them into a nearby fire truck, creating a huge dent within the vehicle where it crashed, fortunately not exploding despite how much force he put into that throw.
Thundermane ran out of the alley and saw that civilians and the firefighters were nearby, so she quickly got in front of them in a defensive stance in case the Nomu recovered.
"Everybody! Run and get to a safer place!", she yelled loud and clearly, to which the citizens did what they were told and ran as fast as they could.
Venom moved over to the fire truck as he licked his teeth in anticipation on what he would do next before he grabbed the eyeless Nomu by the neck. The eyeless Nomu tried to break off his grip, but Venom put an end to his defiance by stabbing the claws of his free hand into their stomach and tore out their entrails.
"Time to eat!" Venom snarled before he quickly bit down with all his strength on the eyeless Nomu's head, and this time was able to swallow it all whole, leaving nothing but a bleeding stump behind as the Lethal Protector dropped the mangled body of his prey. "Hmmm, stale and chewy…"
"Eww…" Eddie said in disgust. "You ate that thing's brain…"
"What? It was exposed and bigger than other brains I've tasted!" Venom retorted before he licked the blood and brain matter off his teeth before turning around, and to his surprise saw several civilians either looking at him or taking pictures and recordings on their phones. "Uh oh… Eddie, they've spotted us…"
"I've found the Vigilante creature!" Thundermane said into her earpiece while standing in front of civilians that were still around, "Whoever is available, I've sent the location!"
"Traitor!" Venom yelled upon hearing Thundermane's communication.
"She's just doing her job, let's get out of here before the other Pros show up!" Eddie retorted as he was half panicking.
Venom turned his head around a few times to search for an exit, before deciding to choose one of the buildings nearby that was close to one of the explosion sights. He first started to move like a gorilla with all four limbs to build up speed before he leaped up the building and started to sprint again. Propelling herself using the electricity from her gauntlets, she landed on the same building Venom was on before chasing after them.
"I'm currently pursuing him on the rooftops! He's heading towards the sight of the explosion!", Thundermane said as she boosted herself closer and shot them with a blast of electricity from her hair.
Venom did his best to dodge the electric blast before he leapt onto another rooftop, however he was then hit in the side by something that was white and yellow, knocking him down to one of his knees. The white and yellow blur landed, revealing itself to be the elderly hero Gran Torino.
"So this is the Vigilante that was sighted back on my block." Gran Torino said, looking at Venom. "Good thing that kid wasn't outside when you showed up…"
"Did we just get hit by this little old guy?!" Venom exclaimed in disbelief.
"We're in a universe full of superpowers, remember?!" Eddie replied.
Gran Torino then started moving again, propelling himself with strong blasts of air from his feet as he went into to attack Venom again, but this time the symbiote formed a shield made from his own matter to block the elder's attack. Gran Torino ricocheted off the shield and onto the rooftop before trying to hit Venom again, but the Lethal Protector's shield kept its guard up as Gran Torino landed on the rooftop again.
"That shield he's created is tough…" Gran Torino said, gritting his teeth. "It's made from biological matter, yet feels like reinforced steel…"
Venom then retracted the shield back into his form before he took the chance to run again, leaping onto another rooftop before his eyes widened as he narrowly dodged what looked like a spear made of fire. The heat was nauseating for the symbiote as he stopped in his retreat to see a muscular man that appeared in front of him. They had red spiky hair, blue eyes and wore a navy blue costume with grey armour pieces, however the thing that standing out were the orange flames around his body which were on his shoulders, costume and completely engulfed his boots, though the most notable flames were the ones on his face that were shaped like a beard. For the first time since they arrived, Venom was now afraid.
"Oh fuck…" Venom said as his eyes widened, and his grin became smaller. "This man is covered in fire, and yet he is not burning!"
"Are you the one who killed that Nomu down below?" The flaming man asked with a boisterous tone.
"And…what if…. I am…?" Venom retorted back nervously.
"You should know that using your Quirk on Villains without a license is against the law, but not only that you've also taken the life of an E-Rank Villain, so you can add murder to your wrap sheet as well." The flaming man stated before crossing his arms before looking at Thundermane and Gran Torino. "Both of you stay back, I will handle this Vigilante."
"Don't underestimate them, Endeavour, they're tougher than they look." Gran Torino said to the flaming man, who he called Endeavour.
"They are also pretty fast as they were able to dodge my attacks as I was chasing them.", Thundermane added as she stood back.
"No wonder they could dodge my Ignited Arrow…" Endeavour said curiously.
"What are we going to do, man?! That's Endeavour, the Number 2 Hero who has a fire Quirk, one of the things that can kill us!" Eddie exclaimed, now in full panic mode.
"I don't like this either, Eddie! But we cannot let them catch us!" Venom retorted as he looked for an opening between the three Pro Heroes.
Venom clenched his fist as he found an opening between the three and took a deep breath before leaping towards it. Gran Torino tried to stop the Lethal Protector with a flying kick, but Venom created a shield just in time to block his attack before retracting it back into him. Thundermane then shot a barrage of overhead lightning bolts at Venom, but he swiftly dodged each of the bolts by using a few tendrils to pull himself over to another rooftop. However, as he was in mid-flight, he felt a searing pain on his shoulder as he saw a fireball rushed past him, grabbing his shoulder as he fell on his back, shrieking like a banshee from the injury.
"Oh shit, oh fuck, that feels like my skin was burnt clean off!" Eddie screamed in pain as his symbiote companion tried their best to get back up.
"Damn it, his fire is intense. If we got hit again, I don't think I would be able to maintain this form." Venom said weakly.
"What? They were hurt that badly from a simple attack?" Thundermane asked, surprised. "He was shrugging off blades and blocking Gran Torino's attacks before, so why did Endeavour's fire penetrate his defenses?"
Below the buildings in the alleyways, the sounds of painful screams could be as an injured man could be seen crawling for his life, having several large cuts all over his body as blood drenched his clothes and skin. He tried his best to move away as fast as he could but just as he thought he could see a way out of his predicament, something wet and slimy hit him from above, making him scream once more.
"Found you~"
The injured man's eyes widened as fear spread across his face once he heard that high pitched feminine voice approaching, which made him attempt to get on his feet and run, but the pain of his injuries rushed through his body and made him fall on his stomach.
"Why did you run away, handsome? I wanted to play with you more~"
The same feminine voice was heard, which was louder and closer than last time. Before the frightened blood-soaked man could move, he felt a knife being plunged into his back which forced him to let out a blood-curdling scream. Above him stood a young girl with fair skin, ash blonde hair tied into two buns with messy strands protruding out of them and yellow eyes with slit pupils. She wore a seifuku schoolgirl uniform with a kansai collar, similar to a sailor's uniform, composed of an oversized beige cardigan, red scarf, black skirt and socks with brown shoes. She stared at the injured man, her prey, with a look of childish delight as she flashed her teeth, revealing vampire-like fangs.
"Aww, giving up already, I thought you were going to try and escape again." The girl said with a grin as she leaned down to pick up her knife, which was coated in not just blood, but a black liquid like substance. "Hmm, what's this black stuff? Is it his blood?"
The girl then put the knife's blade to her mouth as she started to lick up the blood and black substance, before her eyes widened at the taste.
"Hmm, it's bitter and oily…" She said before shrugging as she cleaned the knife of all its blood and the black liquid before she then grabbed the man's neck and put her knife to it. "It was fun chasing you around, but right now it's dinner time~"
The girl slashed open the man's throat before he could speak, letting all of his blood ooze out as she began cupping it and drinking like water from a river. After a few minutes, she finished drinking the blood from his neck and out of curiosity took a cup from the trash nearby and scooped up more of the black substance from the man's back and mixed it in with his blood before drinking it, downing it in one go. She tossed the cup away after and let out a small burp before blushing in embarrassment.
"Excuse me, girls shouldn't burp if they want to get a guy to like them~"
The girl grinned at her prey's dead body before she walked away, humming a catchy little tune as she did so.
Did you enjoy the chapter? If so, please favourite and follow the story and give me your feedback! Without further ado, I'm going to explain some of the decisions I made with the story, minus the final scene.
So you might have noticed that the fight between Venom and Stain is relatively short in comparison to some other fights. And that's because of a few things, such as the fact that Stain doesn't really have any ways of harming Venom. He doesn't know he's weak to fire and sound, let alone that he's a symbiote, so his weapons are useless given that Venom basically becomes a suit of armour that is near-impenetrable unless you're using a weapon that generates sound or flames. Stain in turn would realise he's outmatched and so would choose to flee rather than fight and risk dying or being arrested.
Also the Nomu that Venom and Thundermane fight only had one Quirk in canon, which was Super Regeneration, and to make things more interesting I gave him a second Quirk called Bio-Fission which allows the user to make smaller copies of themselves from their body. Not only does this make sense because Nomus have multiple Quirks but it just makes things more interesting and shows off how strong Venom is compared to Nomus.
If that is all, then I will see you guys next chapter! MVA: Symbiote's Justice, Lethal Protectors away!
