The sunlight was shining into the room through the crack in the shade. Jess stretched her arms out and looked at the clock on the night stand. 10:30. Wow they had slept late. She rolled over to see Michael staring at her. "You were staring at me?" she laughed. He pulled her closer and started to rub her back. "I've been up since 8:30, but I didn't want to wake you. You looked so beautiful." She closed her eyes one more time before opening, "Last night was amazing," she said cuddling up to him. He didn't want to ruin the moment, but he needed to talk about what happened last night. "Are you ok? With everything that happened last night." She took a gulp, "My dad is right. My mother killed 100s of people to protect my father. And I'll do the same for you, again and again." She placed a light kiss on his lips. Her head hurt thinking about it. Replaying what she had done. She learned at a very young age how to shoot. She had shot many animals, and her father had made a makeshift shooting range in their backyard. Her aim was impeccable. It would be stupid of her to deny she didn't know what her mother had done. She could remember some of those moments. She just didn't think the first person she would shoot was someone she knew.

They walked down the steps to Polly cooking breakfast. When they got closer to the table, Polly stopped what she was doing and ran over to Jess and engulfed her in a hug. Jess's shoulder became wet as she realized Polly was crying. "Thank you," she said as she breathed relief. Jess squeezed onto her a little harder. "I'd do it again if I needed too. And I'd do it for you too," she whispered. Polly let go, "Let me stop blubbering all over you. Sit down eat eat." Polly ushered to the plates. They began to eat. "When we are done, Tommy has called a family meeting. Jessica your father will be there and so will you." Jess looked at Michael and grabbed his hands. "Really? I am invited to a family meeting?" Polly nodded, "Eat up!"

A few hours later. Michael and Jess walked hand in hand into Shelby and Co. As they walked through the door everyone was already there. Including her father. She sat down next to him and Michael had his hand on her shoulder. Tommy poured drinks and handed them out. "Before we start business, I just want to welcome Jessica and Janik. After yesterday's situation I think you have proven you are more apart of this family then some give you both credit." "Cheers to new family," Tommy nodded towards Jessica and they all drank. "First order of business," Tommy continued, "Michael I will need you to travel to America for the next 2 weeks before the wedding. I need you to finalize some loose ends, as well as bring back 2 business partners. Janik will let you take the plane so it is a quicker trip." Jessica's smile fell. The next 2 weeks were going to be the busiest for her and she knew this New York trip didn't include her. She promised Grace she would help finalize centerpieces, food, the venue which is happening to be her house her father had offered Tommy. She thrived off of this type of stuff; fashion and style is something she enjoys and has been really invested in the wedding. Grace is important to her and she didn't want to mess this up. Michael seemed excited about going and she didn't want to take that away from him. She blocked out the rest of the meeting disappointed at him having to leave.

2 weeks later, the past 2 weeks have been so slow for Jessica. Yes the days had gone by with the wedding planning, but she felt like its been forever since Michael was home. Lost in her thoughts, "Jess Jess," Grace said waving her arms. "Sorry I was lost in my thoughts." Grace looked at her. She knew what that face looked like. Someone longing for someone. "He comes home today. All you have to do is finish this up and he should be here," she smiled. Jess had a really hard time letting him go. After what Brett almost did to him, she still was nervous; her PTSD was high and she just wanted him home. Some nights had been better than others. She would fall asleep and have dreams as if Brett was in her room, or she would wake up in a sweat. One time she woke up screaming. Her father hadn't said anything to her, so she assumed she was able to keep what was going on hush hush. She knew Grace was right though , he would land, run to Shelby Co. quickly for a brief meeting and then home to her. She started fixing the centerpiece in front of her and going over the agenda for the day. Mae came running in, "Miss Jessica he just landed!" Jessica ran upstairs to get a better view. Perks of living on this huge estate meant everything was there, including the landing strip for her fathers private plane. She was straining her eyes looking through the window. A smile crept on her face when she saw him walking down the steps. But then suddenly, the smile was gone. Down walking next to him was a tall girl in heels. They were laughing together and she touched his shoulder. He opened the car door and they left. Jess walked down sadly to the table with Grace. Grace noticed a change in her demeanor. "Everything ok?" she questioned. "Yes just fine," Jess muttered and went back to the seating arrangements.

At Shelby and Co., Polly and Tommy had been waiting for Michael and their new business partner. This business wasn't legal so Janik had no involvement. Selling whiskey is one thing, but selling drugs is something they would rather keep hush hush amongst those who do not know the business already. Polly disagreed with this idea and thought Janik would be a better fit to continue business. Another day for that argument though. In walked in Michael and a girl. Polly looked her up and down, pretty yes, but Polly felt uneasy. "Mom, Tommy, this is Gina. Her family is in the snow business and would be working with us." "Pleasure to meet you both," as she shook their hands. "Michael informed me there would be a wedding this weekend coming up, so I thought this was a great opportunity to get to know our clients better and my father will be coming in this weekend as well to join us," she smiled at Michael. Polly looked at the picture in front of her. "God my son is so naive." Shaking her head. She started questioning things. Why was she here if her father was the one making the decision? Why did she think it was ok to just invite herself to this wedding? And why did she keep touching her sons arm and why was he just allowing this? Polly snapped, "Tommy, it sounds like her father will be the one you will be talking too." Then she looked at Michael, "I am leaving. Jessica, you know your girlfriend promised me she would let me try on dresses for the wedding she had ordered." Polly continued smirking at Gina, "This wedding this week makes me so excited for when you decide to pop the question to Jessica." She kissed Michael on the cheek. "I'll see you at Jessica's later for dinner." And Polly walked out the door. She was going to Jessica's and she was going to make sure Jessica did not feel threatened.
