Tyler's eyes didn't see anything at first, but then they regained their function, and she blinked rapidly. Then she screamed in pain, doubling up and holding her tattered leg. Her entire body was shaking and it felt like every inch of her was on fire. It took her a while to realise that in between her screaming her lungs out, there were other voices around her. She thought she could hear Dean, and Missouri's voice chanting something obscure, but the pain was too much and she couldn't focus on anything else.

Sam watched Dean watch Castiel, who firstly made sure that the unknown man who'd also been pulled out was all right, then stood, his black and blue body still a sight for sore eyes. Missouri was chanting something, trying her hardest to keep Tyler from folding up, and Bobby had his eyes closed and his hands clasped together. Sam realised with a shock that the old man was praying.

Both Dean and Castiel tensed as a spring when Tyler cried out again, and everyone's attention was on their friend again. Sam gasped as he saw a ripple of some kind go through her battered body; every body part seemed to be contracting.

"What do we do?" he asked Bobby, forcing the hunter to open his eyes. "What do we do?"

"I don't know," Bobby answered. "I don't understand what's happening! Missouri, what's going on?"

Missouri didn't answer; she was in need of her mouth to keep the chant going, but in her eyes they saw panic, and something that looked suspiciously like defeat. The man Castiel checked up on before, now also stood, and he shook the angel.

"DO SOMETHING!" he shouted. "You need to help her!"

Sam moved to grab the man, and as he pulled him away and the man's angry eyes met his, he shuddered. A monster. He didn't know what kind of monster this guy was, but he knew a monster when he saw one. Then the man opened his mouth and Sam knew. Vampire!

Before he was aware of what he was doing Sam reached for the colt. That was a mistake. The vampire saw, realised what he wanted to do and charged him. Sam was thrown against the wall, let go off the colt and collapsed.

Dean saw his younger brother being thrown against the wall by the unknown vampire, and prepared to rush in, when Castiel thrust out an arm to prevent him from doing so.

"What the- Cas!" But the angel wasn't paying him any attention. He was looking at the vampire now towering over Sam.

"Benny!" This caught the attention of the vampire and he turned around. "Don't! Remember why she brought you back."

For a moment only it looked to Dean as if the vampire called Benny was going to disregard the angel's warning, but then the tension in his shoulders left him, and he walked a pace backwards. Benny's eyes went from Castiel, and rested on Tyler. The intensity in them shook Dean, but he too turned to Tyler, whose body was still wracked with contractions.

"Cas...," he found himself whispered. "Save her...please."

Castiel locked eyes with him, then nodded. "I was never going to do anything else."

He walked forwards, put a hand on Missouri's shoulder until she, teary-eyed and shaking, ceased her chanting, and then put both of his hands on Tyler. Yet nothing happened. There was a confused look on Castiel's face, then desperation as he raised his shaking hands to his face.

"I don't understand," he could hear the angel say to himself. "Why can't I-" Castiel cut himself off, then looked up towards the corner beside the bed and looked at-something. Something no one else could see. There was a hint of fear on the angel's face, and respects as well, then he nodded to the corner.

"Thank you," Castiel said to the empty space. Dean frowned, but before he could ask what the hell was going on, Castiel hollered for Benny. The vampire was by the angel's side almost immediately and, as instructed, positioned himself behind Castiel to catch him if he should fall, or to prop him up if needed. Castiel put his hands on Tyler again.

They shone with a bright light and before long, Tyler's contractions stopped. Then her screaming stopped and her breathing became calm. Dean saw the worst of her wounds slowly disappear. He breathed a sigh of relief, and then, hearing a groan, saw Sam coming to. He moved towards his brother, to help him up, and saw Castiel collapse in Benny's arms.

"Cas!" Dean rushed forwards to check on him, but calmed down when he saw the angel was merely passed out. He went over to look at Tyler, who was now breathing deeply, fast asleep. Benny carefully propped up the unconscious angel against one of the bed posts, then he stood and too gazed down upon Tyler's sleeping face. They were quickly joined by Sam, Bobby and Missouri. Silently, they stood around the bed, looking at the miracle in front of them.

Tyler and Castiel, back from Purgatory, alive.
