It took Castiel two days to wake from his exhausted slumber, and when he did, he was sullen and refused to speak of what happened in Purgatory. Benny hadn't been a help in that department either, and Sam was still not sure if the vampire was on the up and up.

He'd expressed that doubt to Dean and Bobby, but Dean had been way too busy caring for Tyler to listen to him and Bobby pointed out that Benny only attacked Sam after Sam tried to shoot him. Missouri had in no uncertain terms told Sam that he wasn't allowed to hurt Benny while in her house, and Sam had no choice but to obey the medium, though he was sure she could read his thoughts about the vampire.

Missouri and Benny unexpectedly got along well, and his passion for cooking brought them closer together. The vampire was charged with making most of the meals for both the recovering Castiel, and Tyler, who still hadn't woken. It was a point of concern for Bobby and Missouri, but Sam was with Dean on this one: she'd been through the worst of it, she would wake in her own time.

Dean walked into the bedroom now occupied by both Tyler and Castiel, and saw Benny carefully feeding Tyler, while Castiel was standing by the window, staring at something. Dean took a deep breath, then asked the question that had been on his mind since they dropped out of Purgatory.

"Cas...are you- You're back to normal, right?"

Both the angel and the vampire turned to look at him, but Benny quickly turned his attention back on the sleeping Tyler. Castiel frowned, took a moment to compose his thoughts, then replied, "Yes. I think so. My vessel is getting stronger, and my wings are recovering, thanks to her."

They looked upon Tyler again. Despite everything, a smile found a way onto Dean's face. "Everything's thanks to her. I still can't believe she went into Purgatory to find you, even though she didn't even know you, and then brought back not only you, but another guy."

Benny snorted, but said nothing. Castiel grinned.

"Who knows what she was planning," the angel said. "Half of the time I suspected she didn't have a plan at all."

"What happened out there?" Dean asked. Neither the vampire nor the angel seemed inclined to answer. Dean opened his mouth to needle them for more information, but a groan stopped him. Benny sat up, placed the bowl of soup he was holding on the nightstand, then smiled.

"Finally awake?" he asked as Tyler slowly sat up. Tyler frowned, blinked a couple of times and then said, "Who are you?"

The silence was deafening. Benny's surpised face would've made Dean laugh if it hadn't been such a serious occasion. Benny stammered for a bit, then said, "I'm Benny. We saved the angel together, remember?"

Tyler stared at him for a while, obviously disoriented, then her lower lip trembled and she started laughing. She pointed at the flabbergasted vampire, and said, "You should've seen your face!"

"You litte-!" Benny was interrupted when Tyler pulled him into a hug. It was clear the vampire didn't expect this, because he froze.

"I'm glad you're all right, Benny," Tyler said as she released him. Only then did she seem to realise there were other people in the room. A bright smile lit up her face as her eyes rested upon Castiel, and the joy with which the angel stepped forwards to embrace her was genuine. Dean couldn't help but smile as well.

Then Tyler saw Dean, and her face fell. She stood, on wobbly legs, and walked up to him.

"I'm sorry for leaving so suddenly in the night," she said when she stood in front of him. "I must've worried you guys."

"Don't worry about it," Dean replied. "With what you did, for us, for Cas...we're forever in your debt."

Tyler playfully punched his shoulder. "So formal."

Dean grinned, then walked up to the door. "I'll tell the others you're awake."

When Dean closed the door, Castiel walked to the door, placed his left ear on the wood, and waited until he heard Dean reach the kitchen. Then he turned around and looked at Tyler.

"You're a-"

Tyler interrupted him. "Only half."

"Do they know? The Winchesters?"

"No. Not something that comes up in regular conversation. Not their business anyway."

The angel nodded thoughtfully, while Benny frowned. He hadn't followed any part of this half-spoken conversation, but understood well enough that Tyler kept something from the others, and that she didn't want it to come out.

"They won't hear it from me," Castiel said.

"Not from me either, even though I have no idea what you guys are talking about," Benny added.

Tyler chuckled and slung an arm around Benny's shoulder.

"Thank you, the both of you. Now let's go downstairs, shall we? I'm so hungry I could eat a horse!"
