One second Merlin is shaking Arthur awake. The next he's on the floor with a improvised dagger in his back. And Arthur's feeling terrible. What did he do this time? No slash.

King Uther announces that on Boxing Day the day after Christmas , certain members of the court will change positions with certain servants of the household. Uther makes Arthur Merlin's servant.

Future Fic: Uther is dead, and Arthur is King with Gwen as his wife. Magic has been restored to Camelot, and Merlin's talents are known. Morgana is back in Camelot; Does she really seek forgiveness, or is it another lie? MERGANA.

Arthur/Merlin-ish. Servants were meant to be this and that, but Merlin wasn't your ordinary servant. This was evident because while here he was, hoping for a refill, Merlin was off talking to a maidservant.
