Hi, guys! Another chapter here to update! I really liked the reviews some of you gave me, about how I don't portray Aster as some OOC guy who suddenly falls-over-heels with Jaden and just restricts to his strict and strong personality and showing absolutely no mercy to Jaden, even if his crush on her dimmed a bit because of the whole Bastion-Turning-Into-Society of Light-chapter.
Just to let you guys know, school is coming up next month for me, and while I will still update my stories, the updates may be...much slower than usual. Sorry for that, but you know, it's how life is, after all. That said, let's continue on!
Disclaimer: Mage of Hope doesn't own Yu-Gi-Oh series, only the OCs!
"Yes! For once, Aster isn't here! Yay!" cheered Jaden, stretching her arms wide. "That guy seriously needs to chill! Now, what kind of duelist will I duel today?~ I can't wait!~"
Ever since Jaden requested Aster to train her in dueling, Aster has proven to be a stern, strict, and overall, a ruthless trainee. Jaden wasn't allowed several things, like saying her usual catchphrase, commenting on cute or cool moves or Monsters, and other things Aster deemed as foolish and timewasting. Honestly, Aster's training made her feel like he was training her to be a robot, but she had to admit, even though the training was harsh, she did feel like her dueling skills have improved.
"Jeez, you're so carefree, Jay! How can you be so calm?!"
"Huh? Who said that?" Jaden looked around, wondering where the voice had come from. She then saw a moving trash can that then came to a stop near her. Curiously, she approached it and was about to grasp the handle when-
"OOGA BOOGA!" yelled Syrus, jumping out of the trash can while waving his arms crazily.
"AAAAAAHHHH!" shrieked Jaden, taken by surprise before recalling something Aster told her about.
Flashback...
"Jaden, I've noticed that you let your guard down WAY too much," said Aster to a sweating and panting Jaden, who was exhausted from their training. "If you're not careful, you could be assaulted by...a creeper. Yeah, let's go with that."
"If...if that's the case, then I can always duel them and beat them!" said Jaden, grinning before receiving a hand-chop to the head. "OW! What was that for?!"
"Idiot! You can't assume that every single problem can be solved with dueling!" yelled Aster. "And don't automatically assume that you'll win EVERY single duel! I mean, you lost against me before, remember?"
"But I also won two times-AH! Stop hitting me!"
"I'll stop when you stop being an naïve idiot!" Aster then sighed, placing his hands on his hips. "Alright, fine! Then pay attention to this important type of advice, then. If a bad guy rushes towards you, and doesn't want to DUEL, then you need to remember to do one thing to protect yourself."
"And that is...?"
"Kick them right between the legs."
"How would that help?"
"It's where a man's most precious jewels are located."
"Ooh! Men have jewels between their legs? Amazing! ...Can I see yours-"
"NO!"
"OW! You hit me again!"
"NEVER ask that again! Look, just remember to kick them between the legs! And, if for some reason, that doesn't work, punch them hard in the head. They'll be dazed for a bit, but that should provide you enough time to escape. Got it? No ifs, ands, or buts."
"But-"
"NO BUTS!"
Instinctively, Jaden's arm swung down and slammed onto the trash can lid Syrus was holding onto, as though her arm was the hammer for a game of Whac-A-Mole. The blow sent a bit of a recoil, as Jaden hissed in pain from slamming down too hard, while Syrus fell back into the trash can, presumably tending to the large bump he just received on his head.
"OWWWW!"
"Sorry, Sy! You surprised me!"
"Shhh! Keep your voice down, or else...they're gonna find me, Jay!" whispered Syrus frantically before crouching back into the trash can; eyes peering slightly out in search for anyone else in sight.
"Uh...What are you doing, anyways?" asked Jaden.
Peeking his head out once more, Syrus answered in a hushed voice, "Can't you tell? I'm hiding!"
"But why?"
"Jay, don't you remember? The tournament rules state that you must accept a duel once a day! I can't refuse if I'm challenged at first by a strong duelist! And, in front of the Ra Yellow dorms, there are swarms of people waiting to prey on me! Seriously, I can't even get through to the bathroom without getting challenged to a duel!"
"Seriously? But, it'll be okay as long as you duel at least once!"
"No way! I'll lose!"
"You won't know unless you try," pouted Jaden. "This tournament's supposed to be all about fun. And...well, dealing with the Society of Light, of course. I still haven't forgotten about that."
"Yeah, well flunking isn't exactly my definition of fun, you know!" shouted Syrus. "The days you survive and the medals you get determine your grade! That's why everyone's out to get me, Jay! Can't you see?!"
"See what...exactly?"
"Just...look! For example, in that forest, there are many duelists who think the same way I do!" Syrus gestured Jaden towards the forest near their Slifer Red dorms, where from amongst the forest's shadows, laid multiple eyes just waiting to strike for their prey. Upon being discovered, the lingering eyes vanished. "There are many people from the Yellow dorms who haven't returned ever since the tournament started!"
"But...isn't that because of the Society of Light and not the tournament itself?"
"I...Well..." Syrus was at a loss, as the thought of the Society of Light being a possibility of the disappearance of most of the Ra Yellow students hadn't even crossed his mind.
"Morning, Sarge!"
Hearing Hassleberry's familiar tone, Syrus let out a small yelp before disappearing back inside the trash can. "Heya, Sarge! Just now, were you just talking to someone?"
"Yup! I was talking to Syrus!" chirped Jaden happily.
"JADEN, YOU IDIOT!" yelled Syrus from inside the trash can.
"Hmm?" Hassleberry glanced over to the trash can and lifted up the lid, quickly discovering Syrus inside. "Aha! Found ya!"
"Damnit!"
"Ahaha! You thought you could get away, but it was I, Hassle-"
"Um...Hassleberry? What are you even doing here, anyways?" wondered Jaden. "Did something important come up?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah! Chazz and a Pro Duelist named Gelgo are fighting in front of the school!"
"Eh?! He is?! With a Pro Duelist!"
Hassleberry nodded. "That's what I said! Now, come on, let's go! And you're coming too, you sneaky litt-WHERE DID HE GO?!"
In that brief moment where Hassleberry turned his attention to Jaden, Syrus took that opportunity to escape, surprisingly possessing stealth skills, as he was able to escape silently, and while wearing a trash can, no less.
Hassleberry looked around some more, scratching his head. "I swear, I looked away for a minute! And he was right next to us! How did he escape so quickly?! Gah, whatever! Come on, Sarge!"
"Coming!"
They weren't the only ones informed of Chazz's duel with Gelgo. Apparently, a crowd of students were watching the duel from the sidelines, including Aster, whome both Hassleberry and Jaden ran up to from behind.
"Hey, Aster!" called out Jaden. "Is it true? That Chazz is dueling with a Pro?"
"Yeah," answered Aster. "His rank isn't that high, but he's still a steady and strong duelist."
"Then, does that mean that Chazz is-?!"
"Winning. He's utterly dominating a Pro Duelist. A guy who's had several times more dueling experience than Chazz."
Like Aster had stated, the tides seemed to be turning in Chazz's favor as Chazz now had the field and Life Point advantage. Gelgo's field was completely void and his Life Points were lower than Chazz, whereas Chazz's Life Points were still full, and he had a strange Monster called White Knight Swordsman on his field.
Chazz - 4000 LP
Gelgo - 2600 LP
White Knight Swordsman - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV4 - (1200/1200)
"My turn! And it's time I end this!" shouted Gelgo. "I summon Marshmallon in Defense Mode!"
Marshmallon - (LIGHT/Fairy) - LV3 - (300/500)
"With this, I end my turn."
"Ooh! Ooh! Marshmallon's a troublesome Monster that can't be destroyed in battle!" gasped Jaden. "Chazz is gonna have a hard time beating that! But...maybe that Pro Duelist should have placed him in facedown. That way, Chazz can't tell that sort of Monster he summoned, and if he attacked, then he'd be dealt 1000 Points of Damage!"
"Wow, I actually thought you'd be rooting for Chazz," admitted Hassleberry, surprised.
Aster also looked surprised at Jaden, though not for the Chazz reason. Actually, he seemed impressed. "Wow, looks like all your studies have paid off after all, Jaden. You accurately described Marshmallon's effects and even made a more effective strategy. Nice move."
"Well, it's also because I own a Marshmallon myself, because he is so frickin' adorable!"
"..."
CHOP! "OW! What did I even do this time?!" cried out Jaden, nursing the poor bump on her head from yet another one of Aster's karate chops.
"You effectively ruined the mood, that's why."
"My turn, draw!" said Chazz. "I now summon White Knight Lancer in Attack Mode!"
White Knight Lancer - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV4 - (1500/0)
"White Knight Lancer?" wondered Jaden, surprised. "Chazz never had that card before. And I never even see him with that other Monster, either!"
"Yeah, I've never seen that card before, either," said Hassleberry. "How about you, Aster? You're a Pro Duelist, you must have seen a ton of cards during your work."
Aster shook his head. "Nah, I'm just as clueless as you."
"Next, I activate the Equip Spell, Infernal Gauntlet, and equip it to White Knight Lancer!" said Chazz. "Now, he gets to attack twice so long as another Monster on my field is sacrificed!"
Upon White Knight Swordsman's sacrifice, White Knight Lancer's lance weapon lit up, being forged with greater strength thanks to Infernal Gauntlet.
"Oh, and there's one more thing you should know. When White Knight Swordsman is in the Graveyard, all Monsters with White Knight in their names gets 300 extra Attack Points!"
White Knight Lancer - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV4 - (1800/0)
"Go, White Knight Lancer! Attack his Marshmallon!"
"It's pointless!" yelled Gelgo. "My Marshmallon's special ability prevents him from being destroyed in battle! Plus, he's in Defense Mode, so even though your Monster's stronger, he still can't get to my Life Points!"
"And that's where you're wrong," spoke Chazz. "My White Knight Lancer may not be able to destroy your Monster in battle, but he still has piercing damage effect!"
When White Knight Lancer got close, he slammed the blunt side of his lance onto Marshmallon. Even though Marshmallon easily recovered from that attack, because of White Knight Lancer's piercing effect, Gelgo still suffered Battle Damage to his Life Points.
Chazz - 4000 LP
Gelgo - 1300 LP
"There's more! He gets to attack twice, remember?"
Another attack from White Knight Lancer was just enough to wipe out the remainder of Gelgo's Life Points, as well as knocking the Pro Duelist unconscious after he let out one last painful cry.
Chazz - 4000 LP
Gelgo - 0 LP
Winner: Chazz
"Amazing! Chazz has gotten so strong, he was able to beat a Pro!" cried out Hassleberry.
"It seems that his deck was strengthened quite a bit by Sartorius' cards," commented Aster, watching Chazz approach them.
"Were you guys watching? That's perfect," said Chazz, picking up the medals from his opponent. "Jaden, I've been waiting for a rematch since last year. And now...you're all mine."
Hassleberry growled and his eyes grew to slits upon hearing that last sentence with...more intent than usual. Aster frowned, but didn't say anything, though he did feel a slight twisted burning inside of him. He convinced himself that it was nothing for the moment, yet that burning still lingered on.
Jaden, however, simply smiled and said, "Yup! I wanted to duel you too, but we've been busy this year and last! I'm all yours!"
"What?!" both Hassleberry and Aster shouted, glancing at her.
Chazz smirked triumphantly. "Great, let's settle the battle between us. I was thinking that in the first place."
"What do you mean, exactly?" wondered Jaden.
"Yeah...to be honest, I don't really remember what was behind the reason for the score between us."
Jaden fell over, anime-style, getting back up with a slight bruise on her cheek that would quickly recover. "How could you forget? We're rivals! Ugh...Well, as long as I can have a fun duel, I'm okay with it!"
"Then, it's decided! Tomorrow at this time, I'll wait here!"
"Tomorrow? Not right now?"
"Ha! Right now? You'd practically be giving me the win here!" scoffed Chazz confidently. "As you can see, my deck's gotten a whole lot powerful than it used to be! I don't think you'll put up a futile struggle, but I'll give you enough time to prepare your deck."
"Them's fighting words," commented Hassleberry, still glaring at Chazz with his slit dinosaur eyes.
Unfazed, Chazz began walking away, bypassing them. "If I don't win against you at full power, there's no meaning to duel you."
"Hang on! I'm confused about something, Chazz!" called out Jaden.
"Yeah? What else is new?"
"Wow, rude!" pouted Jaden. "I saw your duel just now, and I noticed that you didn't play any of your Ojama cards. Why is that?"
"Oja-what?"
"You forgot about the Ojamas?! They were these cute, little pop-eyed guys with weird underwear! ...Okay, what I said sounded a little weird, but they were mostly cute and clung onto you like you were their parent! How could you forget about those guys?"
"...Wow, I must have done some really bullshitting stuff in the past to have had them in my deck," said Chazz. "But no, I still don't remember."
"What?! You can't abandon your troops!" protested Hassleberry.
"Didn't you say you got them from North Academy last year?" reminded Jaden. "Come on! You acted like a total tsundere around them, but you cared about them deep down!"
"Well, if I did in the past, then I don't now!" scoffed Chazz, crossing his arms. "Come to think of it...I think I do remember a little about them..."
Jaden gasped, bearing a happy expression on her face. "Then, you do remember-!"
"Yeah, I remembered that I threw away trash cards like them."
"Seriously?!"
"Yeah, I threw them away the other night. I think they flew towards the ocean. Anyway, I don't care about discarded cards. All I care about is looking forward to tomorrow."
"Hey, wait!" cried out Jaden as Chazz ignored her and continued walking away.
"He seems like an interesting opponent," Aster said. "Well, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to observe more duels."
"Aster, aren't you going to duel?" asked Jaden.
"It seems that the other duelists are keeping their distances from me."
"What a conceited way of speaking! That's an indirect way of saying you're strong!" protested Hassleberry, jealous.
"Hang on, I didn't say that I didn't duel at all. There were some arrogant punks who thought of challenging me, so I fought back," replied Aster, revealing a handful of medals as proof of his accomplishments.
Hassleberry's eyes widened. "Whoa! So many!"
"The number you have has a relation to your grades, right? I'll give them to you."
"Wha-? Are you sure? I mean, it'd be wrong to just take something that you rightfully earned," said Hassleberry, cupping the medals given to him by Aster in his palms.
"I'm fine with just one," assured Aster. "Unless you want my medal, too? If you do, then the only way you'll be getting it is through a duel."
"..."
"Yeah, that's what I thought. Laters!"
"Hey! I wanna duel you, Aster!" Jaden said, waving her hand.
"Jaden, we duel daily during our training," reminded Aster. "Just wait until our next training session! Although, you and I both know you'll lose. Don't worry though. I'll make sure to make our next training session as hellish as possible. Actually, I'm up for the training session right now."
"Uh...I'm just gonna...HASSLEBERRY, DISTRACTION NOW!" cried out Jaden before making a run for it.
"Uh...Uh...A wild Hassleberry appeared!" shouted Hassleberry, getting in front of Aster and waving his arms around. He was immediately put down when Aster punched his nose. "AAAH! MY NOSE! WHY THE HELL-"
"Sorry, not sorry," said Aster quickly, leaping up and then using Hassleberry to bounce off for higher heights. He somersaulted in the air, flipping around until he landed majestically on his feet right in front of Jaden.
The moment she saw him, Jaden turned around to try another attempt of escape, only for Aster to grab the back of her jacket and drag her away, ignoring the wide-eyed stares of the students around them.
"Noooo! I don't wanna duel you!"
"You just said you wanted to!"
"I changed my mind!"
"You're just saying that because you don't wanna die! Well, guess what? If you don't duel me, you're gonna suffer a hellish punishment so bad, you'll wish you died! And if you do duel me, you'll have to try and take back those 'cute' cards you claim I told from you from my cold, prying fingers!"
"Aaaah! Either way, someone's gonna die! Heeeeellllpppp!"
Later...
Chazz was lying on his back against his grand, king-sized bed, courtesy of Sartorius granting him one of the grand rooms in the White dorm due to his loyalty towards the leader. Even with his current luxurious life, Chazz couldn't help but think back on Jaden's words, about the Ojama cards he once had in his now, more powerful deck.
'Those Ojamas...All I remember is that there were three brothers of them...I should be happy with my life with them gone! I'm in the Society of Light! But...why can't I remember enjoying it? Why did I come here? Why did I join the Society of Light?' Chazz thought, looking deep within himself. '...No good. I can't remember. No, it's not just that...Why does my heart calm when I see black and...red? The red part, because of Jaden, obviously, but...black?'
When he saw a spider crawling down his wall, Chazz didn't think to squish it at the moment, but he remained...calm. When he saw the spider, he thought of the color black, and like his thoughts voiced truth, he had calmed down and was starting to think more rationally when-
A knock in his door interrupted his thoughts, causing Chazz to sit up on his bed in alarm. He glanced up and saw the spider vanishing, moving quickly to a more secure place as to avoid any prey.
"Chazz?" It was Bastion's voice behind the door. "It's me. I came to inform you that it's time for the meeting."
"...Right, right. Coming."
As both Bastion and Chazz were heading down the hallway for the meeting, Chazz did a slight double-take when he saw Bastion's new...hair color.
"...What is with your hair?"
"Oh, you like it? I dyed it," answered Bastion proudly. "By coming here, I'm not satisfied until everything is white. For me, white is the source of peace of mind. Plus, it serves as my proof of loyalty to the Society of Light. How about it, Chazz? Do you want to dye your dark black hair?"
"..." Thinking back on how he thought the color black had helped calm him down, Chazz tugged his dark black hair a bit. "...I'll think about it. That reminds me. I haven't seen Sartorius lately."
"Yes, I get what you mean. I heard a rumor that he's fatigued and can't make it to this meeting. Perhaps if we give him time, he'll feel better."
At the meeting, Sartorius wasn't present, but instead, three other students around the same rank as Alexis and Chazz were giving off a speech for the meeting, enthralling everyone but a somewhat bored-looking Chazz.
"A few days have passed since the Genex Tournament has started in this school! To place highly, many students of the Society of Light are winning and remaining! We serve in Genex, serve Sartorius, serve the Society of Light, and must bring order to the world! Listen, ladies and gentlemen! Wherever there is light, there is darkness! Why is that? Silently close your eyes and picture in your minds; a sun in the sky shining pure white that lights the endless pure white earth! Suppose something is projected by this. What's made there is a shadow, darkness. THAT is the evil obstructing the light! We must eliminate those that create darkness! The light is everywhere, it must hit both sides! It is the light that will bring about peace and tranquility! That is part of our duty in Genex as part of the Society of Light!"
"ALL HAIL THE LIGHT! ALL HAIL THE LIGHT!" chanted the Society of Light members.
Normally, Chazz would be chanting alongside them, but his heart didn't seem...in it. He kept his head down, sullen and silent, as he kept out the speech and wondered what his role was in the Society of Light.
With Jaden and Hassleberry...
"Ack! I can't believe that motherfucker got me! He punched me in the nose! Ugh! I'm gonna be stuck with this bandage in my nose for a week!" groaned Hassleberry, hissing from the aching pain on his bandaged nose that Miss Fontaine had already tended to.
"Sorry about that, Hassleberry. I didn't expect him to punch you."
Hassleberry shook his head. "Nah, it's all good. Just wish I could see pretty boy and his stupid face so that I could punch him! Besides, you've had it worse than me. How can you stand it, always training with that guy and him always being harsh with you?"
"It's...been a challenge, but I've always enjoyed a challenge!" assured Jaden.
"He kicked your ass. Ten times, if I recall."
"...Yeah, he did."
"..."
"..."
"...Anyways, whatcha doing, soldier?"
"Looking for those Ojama cards," answered Jaden, fishing her arm inside a small cavern. "Chazz said that he threw them in the ocean, after all."
"Wait, why would you even want those cards?" asked Hassleberry. "I've seen those cards firsthand, and although they're useful at times, I doubt you'd want them mixed up with your Hero deck."
"It's not quite like that. I just feel bad if cards are handled roughly."
"How do you even know if they're in there? I mean, for all we know, they could be at the bottom of the ocean!"
"Well...I just have a good feeling that they're around here somewhere..."
In the end, after hours of searching, Jaden and Hassleberry gave up and headed back to their dorms to rest. Late that night, when both of her roommates were asleep, Jaden was still up, organizing her deck for her big duel with Chazz tomorrow.
'It's been a while since I've dueled Chazz, so I'm a little excited,' thought Jaden, smiling to herself. She remembered fondly of the memories of when she dueled Chazz. The first time, they had to cut it short because of security, but the second and third times were truly the best!
Pharaoh, who was sleeping atop a wooden beam, yawned sleepily, allowing a small light to fly out from the cat's mouth. "At last! I'm free! Jaden! Jaden! It's me!"
Hearing Banner's voice, Jaden looked around, wondering if she was hallucinating, before the small light flew right next to her. "Oh! Professor Banner? Is that you-But wait, that's impossible! I thought you died! I mean, we all saw you turn to dust!"
"Yes, well, my body had died but my spirit still lived! And as I was passing onto the next world, I was eaten by Pharaoh! So for a long while, my bedroom has been the inside of Pharaoh's stomach!"
"Wow...I am...so sorry for you."
"I've gotten used to it. But, just now, I heard a weird voice and I couldn't sleep well. Can you do something about it? I can't very well do anything in my current condition."
"Of course! Just leave it to my, Professor!"
"Excellent! I'll lead the way, so you just follow!"
Although finding Banner's new light form strange and unusual, Jaden was nevertheless happy to see her favorite professor once again, even if he did technically do bad things last year. To her, he seemed remorseful and unlikely to do such terrible things again, especially in his current state, leading her to trust him. As such, she followed him into the dark depths of the forest until they arrived at a familiar, old well.
"Oh, I remember this well! This is the same, old well that me and Chazz went to when searching for cards for his deck!" said Jaden.
"I heard the voice coming from here. Let's go!"
The deeper Jaden climbed down inside the old well, the more voices she heard beneath, which was strange, considering that Chazz had taken all of the cards inside the well for his temporary deck. It didn't take her long to realize the voices were the Ojama brothers, and, using Banner as her source of light, she saw that the Ojama cards were being held up by the pinchers of crabs.
It was a simple task to take the Ojama cards away from the crabs, but with Banner the nightlight around, Jaden wanted to tease the three Ojama brothers a bit by having Banner come closer to her face, as though trying to intimidate the brothers with a spooky story.
"Hiiii….."
"AIYEEEEEE! A GHOST! PLEASE DON'T EAT ME! EAT MY TWO BROTHERS INSTEAD!"
"Hey, what gives?!"
"No, eat the yellow one first! I'm too muscular to die!"
Jaden blinked. "Wow...I only wanted to scare you guys a little bit."
"Ah! It's Jaden!"
"The one true waifu that Chazz loves!"
"Er...not sure if we should be saying that right in front of her."
"Do you know them, Jaden?" Banner questioned.
Jaden nodded. "Yeah, these guys are spirits of Chazz's cards. They've lived with him for about a year now."
"So, the disturbing voices I heard were from them. ...And I don't know what's worse, living down here, or living with CHAZZ."
"Jaden, you gotta help us!" pleaded Ojama Yellow.
"We were lucky that the sea swept us here!" said Ojama Green.
"Be the angel that Chazz always secretly says you are and help us!" pleaded Ojama Black.
"Why, of course I'll...Wait, is that true? Does he actually secretly think I'm an angel?"
"Oh, no! I've said too much! Chazz is gonna kill me when he-"
"Awww! That is so sweet!~ Of course I'll take you guys with me!~" cooed Jaden. "...And I wanna know all about Chazz's dirty little secrets!"
"Well, we're not sure if we can tell you ALL of his secrets," commented Ojama Green.
"But it would be sweet, sweet revenge if we can expose just a little bit!" stated Ojama Black.
"Okay! You've got yourself a deal!" agreed Ojama Yellow, grinning.
"Yeah! Not only do I get three cute and weird new Monsters, but I also get to have blackmail info on Chazzy!~ It was SO worth coming here!"
"YEAH-Hey, what do you mean, weird?!"
The next day...
"Gah! Sorry, sorry! I'm late!" cried out Jaden apologetically as she rushed to the destined location, which happened to be outside the main entrance of Duel Academy's main building.
Chazz had been waiting awhile for her, tapping his shoe impatiently while crossing his arms, wearing a scowl on his face. "You're late! And what's with that raggy uniform you're wearing?!"
Much to his, Hassleberry, and a still hiding-in-the-trash-can Syrus' surprise, Jaden was dressed a bit...differently today. Over her usual Slifer Red uniform, she was wearing Chazz's former black coat rather proudly.
"This is the same uniform you left at the Red dorm!" said Jaden. "I thought you might want it back, so I brought it! I'm no fashionista, but even I can tell that that white uniform you've got is so tacky!"
"How dare you?! This uniform is proof of my sworn loyalty to the Society of Light! I've already seen the light, so you can take that jacket and shove it up your-!"
Suddenly, flashbacks of him donning that very same black coat while dueling in the past came back to his mind, causing Chazz to stop, too stunned to move. 'What...is this feeling? Why do I feel like I actually WANT to wear that coat?' thought Chazz.
Jaden shrugged. "Suit yourself!~ If you don't want it, then I'll keep it for myself! Hmm...I can see why you like this coat! It looks pretty badass!"
"Hmph! Keep the damn coat, for all I care! Now, let's duel, Jaden!" yelled Chazz, activating his duel disk!"
"Alright!" agreed Jaden, holding her newly improved deck close to her. "Alright, guys, let's do our best! If we win, then Chazz will have to return to his true self, no matter what! Everything rides on your efforts!"
"You've got it, Jaden!" cheered the Ojama brothers.
Last night, Jaden had struck a temporary deal with the Ojama brothers. While she did obtain a few secrets about Chazz, which she will no doubt DEFINITELY use for blackmail material later on, if she kept the Ojama brothers in her deck for her upcoming duel and won, then not only would Chazz return to normal, but she would obtain a few more blackmailing secrets about Chazz.
There's no way she could pass up sweet, sweet, power on Chazz's secrets.
"DUEL!"
- DUEL -
Chazz - 4000 LP
VS
Jaden - 4000 LP
"I'll be first! Draw!" declared Chazz. "First, I'll summon White Knight Swordsman in Attack Mode!"
White Knight Swordsman - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV4 - (1200/1200)
"That's the same card he used against that Pro Duelist yesterday!" cried Hassleberry.
"I'll also place one card facedown and end my turn!"
"My turn, draw!" shouted Jaden as Aster arrived to watch the duel. "I summon Elemental Hero Sparkman from my hand!"
Elemental Hero Sparkman - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV4 - (1600/1400)
"Next, I activate the Equip Spell, Good Hero, from my hand! I can now Special Summon a Normal Monster with 1000 or less Attack Points or Defense Points from my deck and then equip it with this card! Moreover, for every Elemental Hero I control, that Monster gains 300 extra Attack Points! I Special Summon Ojama Yellow!"
Ojama Yellow - (LIGHT/Beast) - LV2 - (0/1000)
This time, Ojama Yellow wore a superhero attire consisting of both a red cape and mask. Because of the effect of Good Hero equipped onto him, his Attack Points increased by 300.
Ojama Yellow - (LIGHT/Beast) - LV2 - (300/1000)
"An Ojam-You're fucking with me," stated Chazz, deadpanned.
"W-Why is that card in Jaden's deck?" wondered Syrus quietly to himself.
"Jay, when you said that you wanted to find the cards, I didn't expect you to actually put them in your deck!" shouted Hassleberry.
"Hey, Chazz! I found the cards that you threw away!" called out Jaden. "You want me to keep them too, just like the coat I'm wearing?"
"Hey, Chazz! I'm not afraid of you anymore! I told Jaden all sorts of dirty secrets you've been hiding! How do you like that?"taunted Ojama Yellow. "If you turn right back to your old self, I won't expose anymore than I already did!"
"What?! No, I-!" Chazz clutched his face, gritting his teeth as he felt a rushing headache piercing inside his head. "Why is it that when I try to remember, my head's-!"
"Let's do this!" said Jaden. "Sparkman, destroy White Knight Swordsman!"
Sparkman flew up in the air and charged a ball of electricity before firing multiple bolts of lightning down onto White Knight Swordsman, destroying the Monster and getting Chazz's attention back into the duel.

"Now, Ojama Yellow! Attack Chazz directly! Knock some sense right back to him with everything you've got!"
"This is for your own good! Please forgive me, Chazz! JUSTICE KICK!"yelled Ojama Yellow, kicking and then launching himself off Chazz's chest as hard as he could, knocking the Light member on his back.
Chazz - 3300 LP
Jaden - 4000 LP
"I'll set a card facedown and end my turn!" finished Jaden.
"Oh...OH! I see what's going on! So, that's how it's gonna be, huh?!" yelled Chazz, standing back up, irritated. "I didn't think you had the balls, but you're actually using my old cards against me to mock me! Well, I was caught off guard, but it won't happen again!"
"No, that's not it at all!" Jaden argued. "I'm just trying to get your memories back! Chazz, don't you realized that you've been brainwashed by Sartorius? He just preys on our weaknesses and takes advantage of them for his own benefits! That's how he was able to force you into the Society of Light and made you believe in this so-called 'light!'"
"What?! No, I chose to j-" Chazz paused. Did he actually join of his own volition? The more he thought of it, the more he doubted himself, especially upon witnessing that flashback of him forcibly being- "NO! I-I can't remember! Grrr-! You manipulative bitch! You're just trying to get into my head and force me to be your friend again or something with those pathetic cards, aren't you?!"
Jaden flinched, hurt by his comment. It didn't seem like she was the only hurt, as Ojama Yellow was on the verge of tears. "Chazzy…"
"My turn, DRAW!" yelled Chazz, focusing back on the duel. "I summon White Knight Lancer!"
White Knight Lancer - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV4 - (1500/0)
"I now activate White Knight Swordsman's effect from my Graveyard! When he's in the Graveyard, all Monsters with White Knight in their name gain 300 extra Attack Points!"
White Knight Lancer - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV4 - (1800/0)
"White Knight Lancer, wipe out that trash!"
Ojama Yellow shrieked and shielded himself with his arms feebly, while Jaden looked confused. "Wait, you're not attacking Spar-GAH!"
Spinning his lance around, White Knight Lancer launched himself into the air and threw his rapidly rotating lance at Ojama Yellow, resulting in an explosion that not only destroyed the little superhero wannabe, but also wiped away a great deal of Jaden's Life Points.
Chazz - 3300 LP
Jaden - 2500 LP
"I-I activate the Continuous Trap card, Over Limit!" announced Jaden, once the smoke from the explosion faded away. "I can only activate this card during my opponent's Battle Phase! Now, I can pay 500 Life Points to Special Summon from either player's Graveyards 1 Normal Monster with 1000 or less Attack Points that was destroyed in battle the turn they were destroyed! Come back, Ojama Yellow, in Defense Mode!"

Jaden - 2000 LP
Ojama Yellow - (LIGHT/Beast) - LV2 - (0/1000)
"Thanks, Jaden!"thanked Ojama Yellow, no longer donning his superhero costume.
"Hmph! You'd go as far as paying Life Points to bring back that trash?" scoffed Chazz. "What a waste! I end my turn!"
"Sorry, Jaden! I lost my costume in that explosion,"apologized Ojama Yellow.
"Aww, that's alright! I liked that costume, but the more important thing is that you're here to help me bring back Chazz!" assured Jaden. "My turn, draw! I summon Ojama Green in Defense Mode!"
Just like with Ojama Yellow, Ojama Green wore his own superhero costume, though in design, it was similar to Ojama Yellow's. The difference being that his costume was blue-colored.
Ojama Green - (LIGHT/Beast) - LV2 - (0/1000)
"Next, I'll switch Sparkman in Defense Mode and end my turn!"
"My turn!" said Chazz. "I activate the Spell, Tribute to the Doomed! I discard one card in my hand to destroy Sparkman! I discard White Knight Swordsman!"
As though lightning struck down, an flashy attack from above shot down and destroyed Sparkman.
"Oh, and if you think I'm through with you, you're dead wrong! With the addition of another White Knight Swordsman in my Graveyard, my White Knight Lancer gains yet another 300 extra Attack Points!"
White Knight Lancer - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV4 - (2100/0)
"Go, White Knight Lancer! Strike down that Ojama Green!"
"Oh, come on! I just got here-YAAAH!" cried out Ojama Green before he was struck down by the intimidating, strong White Knight Lancer.
Chazz - 3300 LP
Jaden - 900 LP
"Now, I summon White Knight Gardna in Defense Mode!" said Chazz.
White Knight Gardna - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV4 - (800/2000)
"At this moment, I activate Over Limit's effect once again!" declared Jaden. "I'm bringing back Ojama Green, in Defense Mode!"
Chazz - 3300 LP
Jaden - 400 LP
Ojama Green - (LIGHT/Beast) - LV2 - (0/1000)
"You're the best, Jay!" said Ojama Green, happily. "It's a shame my costume blew up, though."
"Nah, it's fine!"
"HEY!" hollered Chazz, feeling insulted. "By being soft and giving up your Life Points for those weaklings, do you actually intend to lose?!"
"No way! I want to win!" replied Jaden. "Unlike the you right now, I'm actually respecting and loving my Duel Monsters, even if these guys belong to you!"
"Me...? Are you seriously telling me that I used to love them?"
"Eh...kinda? It was more like a love-hate relationship!" said Jaden. "But you loved them deep down, even though you acted so cold and rude to them! You're a tsundere, Chazzy!"
"I'm not a tsundere!" yelled Chazz. "And don't call me by that cutesy name! Ugh, I end my turn! Just hurry up and finish yours!"
"Alright, my turn!" said Jaden. "I summon Ojama Black in Defense Mode!"
Ojama Black - (LIGHT/Beast) - LV2 - (0/1000)
And just like his two other brothers, Ojama Black had a green superhero costume on.
"Let's go, Ojama brothers! Now's the time!" declared Jaden. "From my hand, I activate the Spell, Ojama Delta Hurricane! When all three Ojama brothers are on the field, I can destroy all cards on your field, Chazz! Now, Ojama Formation!"
"Even though, we're not all wearing costumes, we're still our very own trio hero team!" declared Ojama Yellow, flying up high with his brothers.
"Yeah, that's right!"
"Go, Team Power Ojamas!"
"Yeah!" cheered Jaden. "Go, go, Ojama Rangers!~ Do do do do do-"
"Are-are you seriously singing right now?" said Chazz, annoyed.
"Jaden! What have I said about fooling around?" called out Aster, ticked off as Jaden disobeyed yet another rule of his.
"Crap! I kinda forgot he was here!" cursed Jaden.
"That's right! Now hurry up and focus on the duel!"
"Right, right! Sorry!"
Ojama Delta Hurricane worked successfully, annihilating all of Chazz's cards on his side of the field in a flashy hurricane consisting of the three Ojama brothers before they returned to Jaden's side.
"See that, Chazzy? That's the power of friendship!" shouted Jaden. "This is the power you once held before you became a total light emo!"
"I'm not an emo!" yelled Chazz. "And I used to hold the power of these weaklings? Well, I'm glad that I don't anymore! I've got power thanks to Sartorius, so if you're still trying to convince me to take those losers back, then you can forget it!"
The three Ojama brothers grew both concerned and further hurt by Chazz's insults. Yes, he has insulted them many times in the past, but it was never this harsh, before.
"I activate the Sealed Gate! This is a Trap that's activated when it's sent to the Graveyard!"
"Wait, wait, wait, wait," interrupted Jaden. "How would you even know that I would destroy that card?"
"I...had a hunch. Look, it doesn't matter! Let me finish! I remove White Knight Swordsman, White Knight Gardna, and White Knight Lancer from my Graveyard in order to Special Summon White Knight Lord from my deck!"
White Knight Lord - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV7 - (2000/2000)
"Also, due to my other White Knight Swordsman in my Graveyard, White Knight Lord gains 300 extra Attack Points!"
White Knight Lord - (LIGHT/Warrior) - LV7 - (2300/2000)
"You see?! This is the strongest card given to me by Master Sartorius! Fear before me, and the Society of Light!" laughed Chazz maniacally.
The three Ojama brothers, though fearless before, were now cowering in fear at the new and insane Chazz before them, while Jaden gritted her teeth in frustration as she pondered on how to fix Chazz. It seemed that he was in a much worse state than she had thought, and as his friend, it was her obligation to help him. She couldn't help Bastion before, but now, she felt that it was her duty to save at least another friend!
'That guy's no doubt Chazz's best ace card!' thought Jaden, wondering on how she was going to beat him.
"How's she gonna pull this off?" muttered Hassleberry as Syrus crept closer for a closer view of the duel, still inside the trash can.
"Jealous?" taunted Chazz. "I got this from my loyalty to the light. This card was personally given to me by Master Sartorius. The pure white that burns all dirt is the road that the Light pursues! I won't believe your lies that I've been brainwashed, because I can see the light!"
"No, Boss!" cried out the three Ojama brothers worriedly.
"Oh, you are such a frickin' hypocrite!" shouted Jaden, annoyed. "I've seen you do dirty things to your coat for half a year!"
"WHAT?!" Chazz, Aster, Syrus, and Hassleberry exclaimed, especially the "dirty things" part she mentioned.
"I-it can't be..." said Hassleberry. "Did that asshole really-?!"
"Don't think I don't know!" continued Jaden, tugging at the black coat she was wearing. "When you think no one's looking, you often wipe the soy sauce off your sleeve! It was so smelly, I had to wash it completely just to get the smell off! That was kinda why I was so late!"
"...Oh...Whew! For a second, I actually thought-"
"And that's not all! Once, I saw some really weird white stains on the end of your coat, so when you weren't looking, I licked it a little! I dunno what kind of sauce you accidentally spilled on your coat, but it was really salty! You're a messy eater, Chazz!"
Chazz's face paled when he realized what Jaden was saying, while everyone else was jaw-dropped or shocked at this new revelation. Chazz felt a shiver down his spine when he found himself being glared at murderously by Aster, Hassleberry, Syrus, and possibly a few envious students as well.
"J-jaden, you bastard! Quit distracting me!" stuttered Chazz. "A-Anyways, no matter what you pull, it's useless against my Monster! There's no way any of those weaklings can defeat my Monster! The only difficulty I'm having, is deciding which one of those stooges I'm gonna take out first!"
The Ojama brothers shrieked upon hearing his declaration. They could feel his lingering, merciless gaze upon them, constantly looking back and forth to see which one of them would be a suitable target to quench his anger.
"Ah...Jaden? I just remember! I...Uh...I have to use the restroom! Yeah! So, can I go?" wondered Ojama Yellow.
"I have to visit our grandmother! She's so sickly!" said Ojama Green.
"I...Uh...have to find an excuse to excuse myself!" Ojama Black said.
"Uh...you know, even if I wanted to, I can't. You guys are stuck on the field unless you're destroyed or I do something about you guys," reminded Jaden.
"Ha! Even though they're on your side, they don't seem to be quite loyal to you, huh?" laughed Chazz. "Whatever! I don't have time to listen to their bullshit!"
"Wait, you can still see them, Chazz? Then, maybe there is hope for you!" Jaden said.
"Hmph! Does it really make a difference whether or not I can still see them? No!" scoffed Chazz. "I'm tired of playing with you who includes crap in your deck! Now, hurry up and end your turn!"
"Alright, we're getting somewhere at least! I end my turn!"
"Finally! My turn!" said Chazz, drawing his card. "White Knight Lord, attack!"
The Ojama brothers clung onto each other, shrieking once more. "Aaah! I'm gonna be the one to go first, aren't I?! I knew it! I've always been Chazz's favorite, and WORST Monster! Goodnight, sweet prince, and may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!" said Ojama Yellow.
"Nooo! I can't lose you again, brother!" cried out Ojama Green, hugging his yellow brother close to him.
"Calm down, dunderheads!" said Ojama Black. "Remember, he only has one Monster, so that means only one of us will be destroyed! ...On that note, take Yellow first!"
"WHAT?!"
"Yeah, take the littlest one!"
"Gah! Traitors! Team killers! I'll remember this!"
"White Knight Lord, your target is Ojama Black!" declared Chazz with a sadistic smirk.
"WHAT?! WHY ME?! WHAT DID I EVEN DO TO YOU?!"
But unfortunately, Ojama Black's question was never answered, as he was met with a flail mace to the face, thus being destroyed.
"At this moment, I now activate White Knight Lord's effect! If he destroys a Monster in battle, you get dealt 300 Points of Damage!"
Chazz - 3300 LP
Jaden - 100 LP
"Hey, idiot! You only have 100 Life Points left!" reminded Chazz. "You've got no chance of winning now! Unless you want to try using that Trap card of yours to bring back that weakling I just destroyed, which will no doubt, cost you the duel!"
"I'm not that stupid to try that out again!" said Jaden.
'I really doubt that,' Aster, Syrus, and Hassleberry thought, sweatdropping.
"Whatever! I end my turn!"
"I'm not giving up on you, Chazz!" Jaden declared. "And neither are your Ojamas!"
"Uh...Actually, I'd like to give up," spoke up Ojama Yellow.
"Yeah, where's the white flag? I wanna wave it," said Ojama Green.
Jaden frowned. "Come on, guys! I thought you wanted to help Chazz! I mean, think of all the good times you've had!"
Ojama Green and Ojama Yellow glanced at each other, before looking back at the "fond" memories they had with Chazz. Actually, it was more like the times where he tormented them a lot. He drew doodles all over their cards, went "fishing" with them as bait for Pharaoh, and once, he even tried drowning them in a bucket of water, and he even knew that they were paper cards!"
"Uh..."
"Yeah, I don't really see the love."
"Well, if you're not gonna do it for the fond memories, at least do it for our deal!" pouted Jaden. "You promised me more blackmail material on Chazzy, remember?"
"They did WHAT?!" yelled Chazz.
Instantly, both Ojama Yellow and Green grinned mischievously as they faced the dueling field once more. "LET'S DO THIS!"
"YEAH, BRING IT ON!"
"Well, I guess that works, too!" said Jaden. "My turn, draw! I activate the Spell, Pot of Greed, which lets me draw 2 more cards! I now activate Polymerization, and fuse together Ojama Yellow and Ojama Green! Let's go, Ojama Rangers! Go, go, Ojama Rangers! Do do do do-"
"Jaden!" yelled Aster, a tick mark forming on his head. "That's an extra hour of training the next time we train!"
"Ack! Me and my big mouth! Oh, well! Go, form to create...Ojama Knight!"
Ojama Knight - (LIGHT/Beast/Fusion) - LV5 - (0/2500)
"...Yeah, I know you're trying to make me remember those weaklings, but even I don't remember having that card," admitted Chazz. "Where did you even get that card?"
"I...I'm actually just as confused as you," Jaden said. "Anyways, Ojama Knight's effect activates! When he's on the field, two of your Monster Zones are sealed and can't be used!"
Ojama Knight flew up in the air, and in an unknightly-like manner, shot laser beams from his eyes, aiming down near Chazz's feet, causing the Light lieutenant to back off for safety in fear of being hit. When everything was all cleared, his two Monster Zones were filled up by an elderly couple, resembling too much like Ojama Green and Ojama Yellow.
"...The hell is going on?!" yelled Chazz.
"Ah...such a tranquil atmosphere," the grandfather-like Ojama Green said, sipping his tea.
The grandmother-like Ojama Yellow started coughing. "*Cough* *Cough* Oh, the coughs are getting to me again..."
Jaden blinked. "Wow. They were right. Their grandmother IS sick. Anyways, I activate the Equip Spell, Shield Attack, and equip it onto Ojama Knight! Now, his original Attack and Defense Points are switched! That means Ojama Knight's Attack Points are now 2500!"
Ojama Knight - (LIGHT/Beast/Fusion) - LV5 - (2500/0)
"Ojama Knight, attack White Knight Lord!"
"YEAH! Ojama Ranger's Knight Attack!" declared Ojama Knight, rushing forward and brandishing his sword before swinging it downward. Instead of being destroyed, however, White Knight Lord held up a barrier that not only protected him, but broke Ojama Knight's sword in half.
"Aack! Are you kidding me?!"
"Sorry, but my White Knight Lord has several other effects you didn't know until now!" said Chazz. "First, he can't be destroyed in battle! Secondly, any Battle Damage turns to 0 for me from battles involving White Knight Lord! My ace card's got the ultimate attack and defense, so it's impossible to beat him in battle!"
"Okay, that is so OP!" complained Jaden as Ojama Knight returned to her side. "Uh...sorry about what I'm about to do to you!"
Ojama Knight turned around, confused. "Huh? What do you mean?"
"I activate the Spell, Mystik Wok! I sacrifice a Monster on my field, and I gain Life Points equal to that Monster's Attack or Defense Points! I choose Ojama Knight, and I choose his Attack Points!"
Ojama Knight, along with his..."grandparents" were tossed into a large wok, constantly thrown around as they were being "cooked." Because Ojama Knight was to be Tributed, that meant that his special ability would no longer work on Chazz, thus the reason why his "grandparents" were thrown in the wok with him.
Chazz - 3300 LP
Jaden - 2600 LP
"Wow, you actually did something smart for once," mocked Chazz. "That was smart, getting rid of those weaklings just so you can stay in the game a little longer!"
"Yeah...about that...Well, I'll just let you see it for yourself," said Jaden. "I activate the Spell, Ojamandala! I pay 1000 Life Points to bring back the three Ojama brothers!"

"We're back! The three Ojama Rangers!" announced the three Ojama brothers.
"The Ojama Rangers!" gasped Jaden, ready to sing once more. "Go, go-!" At a single glance from Aster, Jaden gulped and came to a stop. "G-Go me! I set a card and end my turn!"
"...Nice save," grumbled Aster.
"Awesome! Not only did she recover some Life Points, but she also fortified her defenses!" said Hassleberry. "Chazz is gonna have a hard time getting through that!"
"Jaden! Why aren't you using any of your other Elemental Heroes?" called out Aster.
"I...actually stocked up most of my cards with Ojamas, so-"
"Goddamnit, Jaden! Are you TRYING to lose?"
"That's what I've been saying this whole time! My turn!" shouted Chazz. "I equip the Equip Spell, Infernal Gauntlet onto White Knight Lord! The Monster equipped with this Spell can increase the number of attacks it can dish out by sacrificing a Monster on the field! I activate the Spell, Stray Lambs, and Special Summon 2 Lamb Tokens in Defense Mode!"
Lamb Tokens - (EARTH/Beast) - LV1 - (0/0) X2
"I sacrifice one of my Lamb Tokens to grant White Knight Lord an additional attack! Now, attack Ojama Black!"
"Why's it always gotta be me?! AAAAAHHH!"
It didn't take long for White Knight Lord to destroy Ojama Black, much to the horror of the two remaining Ojama brothers.
"And don't forget White Knight Lord's special ability! You get hit 300 Points of Damage for every Monster that I destroy with him!"
Chazz - 3300 LP
Jaden - 1300 LP
"Then, I use another Lamb Token as a sacrifice to attack again! Take down Ojama Green this time!"
Obediently following his master's orders, White Knight Lord destroyed Ojama Green, effectively using his special ability to damage Jaden's Life Points by 300 once more.
Chazz - 3300 LP

"JADEN!" shrieked Syrus before quickly coming to realization that he was being loud before popping back inside his trash can.
"It's really hard to fight against Sartorius' cards with these weaklings," commented Aster. "Damnit, Jaden...What were you thinking?"
"Shit, shit, shit! What is Jaden even doing?!" yelled Hassleberry taking his frustration out on the trash can, kicking it as far away as he could; the very same trash can that Syrus was hiding in.
Syrus screamed as he was kicked and rolled around campus before escaping just in time. If he had stayed any longer inside the trash can, then he would have accidentally landed in the ocean. Better to stay out of the trash than into the ocean.
"As expected of Chazz! No mercy whatsoever!" praised Jaden.
"I'm not done yet! White Knight Lord has one more attack left, and I know just the perfect target to test it on!" said Chazz.
"Boss, please! Think of all the good times we've had together!" pleaded Ojama Yellow.
"What good times?! The only good time I'll be having is squashing you! Go, White Knight Lord!"
Just like with the other two Ojama brothers, White Knight Lord made quick work of the third and last brother before activating his devastating Effect Damage ability on Jaden, reducing her Life Points by 300.
Chazz - 3300 LP
Jaden - 700 LP
Although exhausted, Jaden still had strength left in her. "I activate the Continuous Trap, Over Limit! I'm giving up 500 Life Points just to Special Summon Ojama Yellow again!"

"Just stop it! Stop it already! This has got to be the most pathetic duel of my life!" yelled Chazz. "Jaden, why are you so insistent on these...weaklings?!"
"Because there's no other choice but this to wake you up!" argued back Jaden. "I could have used my full power with my Elemental Hero, but I decided to add most of my deck with Ojamas, because you know why? Because they're the only connection with the old you!"
"So you think using weakling cards is going to bring back the old me? Big deal! In this world, it's the strong that wins against the weak! The Society of Light will always-"
"Would you just stop it with that cultist nonsense?! I'm sick and tired of hearing that! Besides, dueling is more than using strong cards! It's about the connection between the duelist and their cards! Oh, and stop calling them weak! I've seen your duels with the Ojamas, and in every duel you've won with them, you've proven your own opponents wrong about the Ojamas being weak! So stop being a hypocrite and come back to your senses, you emo!"
"I'm not an emo! Quit calling me that!"
"I'll say it as much as I wanna! Emo! Emo, emo, emo-! Hey, are you alright?" Jaden's insults changed into concern for the injured and bandaged Ojama Yellow as he was seen slightly curling up in pain.
"I'm fine...I can hold no matter how many times I'm done in..." It took all of his strength to stand back up and gaze at Chazz with glistening tears in his eyes. "But the one thing I can't stand is that Boss can't remember us! We can take his insults, we can take his attacks, but not being able to remember us? That's...That's...WAAAAAAHHHH!"
Jaden couldn't help but feel sorry and sorrowful for Ojama Yellow, who was on his knees and sobbing openly for Chazz to remember even a little, tiny memory of their times together. While she did think of him and his brothers as a little weird and mostly cute, she did also think they were a great influence in Chazz opening up and changing for the good, and proof of that was last year's events.
The Chazz in front of her was an imposter compared to the Chazz she knew.
Seeing Ojama Yellow cry made Chazz wanted to insult him further, but that desire was overcome by a strong feeling within him. 'Wha...What is this strong, miserable feeling?' thought Chazz, clutching his chest. 'Oh God...am I...actually pitying that weakling? No, it's more like my heart's being stung a million times over!'
"Fight it, Chazz!" encouraged Jaden. "Remember everything! He's your friend, remember?"
"Friend...? Why would I-?!"
"Think about it! He helped you become the best in North Academy! He's the friend who liberated you from your brothers! And he even helped you with the Shadow Riders last year!"
"Boss, please remember!" pleaded Ojama Yellow. "The way you've been talking, about the light and all, that's not what the real you would say!"
Gritting his teeth, Chazz felt a sudden pain inside his mind as he stumbled back. He let out low gasps as there was an internal struggling conflict within him; a clash between light and dark.
"Chazz, that's not even your uniform!" shouted Jaden. "You loved this black coat! It made you more em-I mean, it made you more cool! You were demoted to Slifer Red, sure, but you were a rebel! A strong rebel that chose another path and never gave up! This coat is proof of your defiance!"
"Right!" agreed Ojama Yellow. "Boss, that white uniform doesn't even suit you at all! It makes you like...like...well, I don't know the word that's worse than an emo, but that's what you are right now! Plus, I know you're in there somewhere! If that's the case, then that stain on your arm is proof!"
"Stain on my-?!" Chazz glanced at his coat sleeve and gasped horrifically at the sight of a slightly greyed stain on his pure white coat sleeve. He vaguely remember the memory of his old habit of wiping the table with his white sleeve one time while having tea. That memory shot a large variety of forgotten memories and a waterfall of headaches onto his head before he threw back his head and screamed in pain.
"...I...Sartorius...That bastard...! He...He used the light to blind me! He doesn't care about the good of the Society! He only wants to exploit and use us for his own Greater Good!" growled Chazz. "Why am I wearing white?! Ugh, it's like the emo version of white! I hate white! Wait...why am I fighting with this Monster? Why do I have this deck I've never used before? And Jaden...WHY THE HELL ARE MY MONSTERS ON YOUR FIELD?!"
"Yay! Chazzy's back to normal!" cheered Jaden.
"You...You..."
"Hmm? What's wrong, Chazz? Why do you look so-"
"YOU STOLE MY CARDS, DIDN'T YOU?!"
"Eh...EEEEHHHHH?!" exclaimed Jaden, falling down anime-style. "Are you kidding me?! No way! I would never steal from you, Chazz!"
"As if! You steal from me all the time!"
"Really? Name one time!"
"You stole fried shrimp from my plate once when I wasn't looking! Don't think I didn't notice!"
"Er..."
"AND, you're wearing my coat! I never gave you permission to wear that!"
"There's a perfectly logical explanation for this!" assured Jaden. "Until just now, you've been brainwashed and controlled by Sartorius! That Monster you have right now? It's a symbol of your loyalty to the Society of Light! You got that card from Sartorius himself!"
"I did? Wait...all I remember is the time when I was defeated by Sartorius..." muttered Chazz. "...Gah! Screw it! I'm ditching this coat!" Throwing aside the white coat he had been wearing, Chazz now wore his underclothes, with the only thing missing being his coat. "Alright, Jaden! You had your fun, so gimme back my coat!"
Jaden glanced at the black coat she was wearing, then back at Chazz before clinging the coat closer to her body. "...Nope!"
"Excuse me?!"
"Nope! I'm not giving back the coat! You were rude to me, so I'm not giving it back! Bleh!" She childishly stuck her tongue out at Chazz, who was growing more angry by the minute.
"I'm not joking around! Give it back!"
"No! It's mine! But...let's continue the duel!" suggested Jaden. "If I win, I get to keep the coat!"
"Like hell you are! Fine! If I win, I'm taking back the coat!"
"Deal!"
"When did this change from changing Chazz back to normal to a competition over a dumb coat?" wondered Hassleberry.
"As stupid as this was, it did reveal one important fact at least," said Aster. "The Society of Light's true face is to control people with brainwashing. Memory loss is just a side effect to any member that loses."
"Alright, let's resume the duel!" said Chazz. "Now, I activate the Spell, Cemetery Change! I pay 1000 Life Points, so that all the Monsters on both of our fields are destroyed! And then, we switch the cards in our Graveyards!"
"Wha-?! Oh, so that's how it's gonna be, is it? You're trying to empty my field along with yours because you know I'm low on Life Points and this'll give you a chance to attack my Life Points directly with another Monster!" accused Jaden. "Well, I'm not letting that happen! I activate the Trap, Ultimate Providence! When a Spell, Trap, or Monster effect is activated, I get to discard the same type of card, negate the activation, and then destroy your card! You're not taking my cute and only defense away!"
"What?!" yelled Chazz. "Damnit, Jaden! This is further proof that you did steal my deck!"
"Wha-?! How is th-?!"
"Whatever! I end my turn!"
"Boss! Please save me and my brothers!" pleaded Ojama Yellow. "She...she seduced us to join her side!"
"WHAT?!" exclaimed Jaden.
"...Okay, I find that really hard to believe, to be honest, but I'm willing to take any reason that she did steal my deck!" said Chazz.
"Not fair! After everything I did for you and your brothers!" pouted Jaden.
Ojama Yellow flew up to Jaden and whispered, "Don't worry! I'll still keep my end of the bargain! I'll still tell you some of Chazz's deepest, darkest-"
"HEY!" yelled Chazz. "What are you doing, whispering with the enemy?!"
"N-Nothing, Boss!"
"And don't think I forgot what you said earlier! You promised Jaden blackmail info on me, remember? I heard you say it! When I get you guys back, oh, you are gonna be fish bait for Pharaoh for a week! No, make that a month!"
"W-We're doomed!"
"Alright, alright! My turn!" said Jaden. "Ooh! I may not be able to finish you this turn, Chazz, but I can do this! I activate the Spell, Smashing Ground! Now, I get to destroy one Monster you control that has the highest Defense Points! And since your only Monster is White Knight Lord, he's the only Monster that can be destroyed! He can't be destroyed in battle, but that's not applied to card effects!"
A large crack on the ground formed underneath White Knight Lord's feet before a large hand reached out and grabbed him by the foot, dragging him into the hole before the hold closed up.
Jaden then felt an sudden pain in her chest before falling onto one knee. She heard the familiar ringing of Life Points dropping and glanced over to her duel disk, discovering her Life Points were...
0.
Chazz - 3300 LP
Jaden - 0 LP
Winner: Chazz
"WHAT?! How did I lose?!" exclaimed Jaden. "Is this thing broken or something? Well, me and Sy did play frisbee with it before, so..."
"Seriously, Jaden?!" called out Aster.
"Okay, okay, okay! I'm sorry!"
Chazz took the White Knight Lord card from his duel disk and read his special abilities. "Uh...No, your duel disk wasn't the problem. It was White Knight Lord's last ability. When he's destroyed by an opponent's card effect, that opponent gets dealt 1000 Points of Damage as a result."
"Once again, OP!" complained Jaden. "Awww!"
Aster frowned. 'Jaden may have lost, but she didn't seemed brainwashed. She just seems like...her usual self. That must be because she snapped Chazz out of his brainwashing. I guess it's possible that you don't become a member if you managed to snap your opponent out of it before you lose. Even though she lost, she crushed a part of Sartorius' strength again?'
"Now that that duel's settled...Gimme back my coat!" demanded Chazz, marching over to Jaden. "And while you're at it, my cards, too!"
"Alright, alright! Jeez!" As the loser of the duel, and to keep her word, Jaden handed over both Chazz's coat and his Ojama cards back. As per to the Genex Tournament rules, she was about to hand over her medal as well when Chazz stopped her.
"Stop. I don't want it. Not this time, anyways."
"Chazz? But why? I lost."
"Yeah, but during most of this duel, I was under the Society of Light's brainwashing," scowled Chazz. "Ugh, I still can't believe I let them brainwash me like that! Anyways, this duel doesn't count. Let's just...call it even between us, now."
"Even? What do you mean?"
"Our first duel, we didn't get to finish, so that ended up as a draw. The second and third times, you won. And now this time...I...won..."
"So, that would just make it a total of 2-1," pointed out Jaden. "That would mean I'm kinda in the lead-"
"W-Whatever! I'm leaving! If you'll excuse me, I've got a cat to find," said Chazz, marching away.
"Whew! All's well that end's well!" sighed Jaden happily before feeling someone's hand on her shoulder and a menacing aura behind her that sent shivers down her spine.
"Jaden..." spoke Aster slowly. "Let's go train, alright? I'm not taking no for an answer."
Before Jaden could respond, Aster quickly overpowered her by gripping the back of her red jacket and dragging her away, just like yesterday.
"Eeeep! A-Aster, have mercy-"
"Your enemies won't show you mercy, so why should I? You've made SO many mistakes, and the cherry on top is the fact that you lost when you should have used better cards. Don't worry, though. I'll be sure to drill every single lesson back into your mind over and over again..."
Jaden turned to her friends. "Hassleberry! Sy! Help!"
However, Hassleberry and Syrus, who was now disguised as a human-sized bush, only saluted for her with pitiful looks in their faces.
"A-Aster, what about tonight's meal? It's Fried Shrimp-"
"We're skipping dinner tonight."
"No...No...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-!"
Later, that night...
It just so happened that that night happened to be a rather stormy night. The winds were blustering at high levels, the rain poured down like torrents of a waterfall, and if things continued the way they were, there was bound to be a thunderstorm joining later tonight.
Jaden was on her way back to the Slifer Red dorms, though the poor girl was drenched completely from head to toe and clinging onto her red jacket for warmth. She was both tired and starving from hours of training with Aster, and she had just finished training.
'Waaaahh! It's so cold!' thought Jaden, getting closer to the Slifer Red dorms before noticing someone nearby. 'Hmm? Is that...Chazz?'
Although the rain was pouring down hard, and the winds were only growing stronger, there stood Chazz, holding a lantern on one hand, and on the other, an umbrella.
"C-C-Chazz! W-What are you doing here?" yelled Jaden through all of the noise in the background.
"...Taking a walk."
"In THIS weather?!"
"Look, I was about to head back! ...Since you're here, let's go back together. Here, get closer." Chazz motioned her to get closer, a request she eagerly accepted just to get under the umbrella. For warmth, she hugged Chazz and held onto him tightly.
Originally, Chazz had planned to sneakily wrap his arm around her shoulder to get her closer, but...in a way...this worked? Well, it was time for Step 2 of his plan.
"Hey, take this," ordered Chazz, handing her the lantern while still holding onto the umbrella. After watching her grab hold of the lantern, he shrugged off his black coat and threw it all over Jaden, making it act like a hoodie.
Confused by Chazz's actions, Jaden looked at him. "Chazz? Why are you giving me your coat? I thought-"
"Just this once," said Chazz. "Just this once, I'm lending you my coat. B-But don't think this means anything! Just come with me!"
"Awww!" Jaden broke into a smile. "You really do care, you tsundere!"
"I'M NOT A TSUNDERE!"
With Chazz's help, Jaden managed to arrive all the way back to the Slifer Red dorms a little bit warmer and comfortable than before. Although, instead of heading back to her room, Chazz was acting suspiciously nice by inviting her into his large dorm room that he had workers installed months ago. Not only that, but he had allowed her to take a bath, had given her some spare clothes, and even a fried shrimp sandwich.
While Jaden was busy warming herself up from a long day, Chazz himself was getting ready for bed, hanging up his black coat up in a nearby coat rack and then lying on his back against his king-sized bed. His mind was still lost in thought about the times when he was in the Society of Light. Actually, he didn't remember his time in the weird cult, but he felt anger towards Sartorius not only for defeating him, but also brainwashing him into becoming one of his cult members.
Deep down, he felt grateful to both Jaden and his Duel Spirits for snapping him out of it, though he would never downright admit it. Plus, he wanted to show a bit of his appreciation towards Jaden by letting her wear his jacket in the rain, take her back to his own dorm, feed her a bit of food, grant her a shower, give her fresh clothes, and so forth.
Admittedly, he had been planning for something like this for a long time just to win over Jaden's heart. Secretly, he had...requested cooking lessons from Dorothy so he could be a better cook. Honestly, it was because Jaden was an AWFUL cook, and though she had been told that a few times, she was still too dense to even notice how bad her cooking was. He knew one of her favorites was fried shrimp, so he had taken a few during dinner to give them to Jaden later.
The last time Jaden had spent time alone in his room was...actually one time last year. They had a sort of a sleepover, and the time they had together was...fun. Sure, he received a warning from the oh-so-overprotective Flame Wingman about taking care of Jaden, and the night was kinda ruined by Winged Kuriboh constantly taking up space and hogging Jaden to herself. Even now, he could feel the lingering gaze upon Jaden's Duel Spirits, since he himself held the power to see Duel Spirits as well, though probably not as strongly as Jaden.
"What do you want, morons?" Chazz said out loud, making it clear he was aware that he was being watched by Jaden's Duel Spirits.
Only Flame Wingman and Winged Kuriboh appeared, and the others were probably still watching, though because of the Fusion Monster's famous temper and overprotectiveness towards Jaden, they remained hidden in case Flame Wingman tries to pull something.
"...You did all this for Jaden."
"If you're going to say something like I'm taking advantage of her, forget it. I already know that I'm taking advantage of this situation just to get closer to her," replied Chazz.
Flame Wingman bristled in anger, yet kept his calm as he crossed his arms. "I believed I warned you last year what would happen if you so harmed Jaden, that you would regret it. But I also learned my lesson that Jaden would find out things eventually and prevent me and the others from doing anymore drastic things. Ugh...What I would give to hurt you like Yubel once did..."
"Who?"
"Never mind! We are always watching over Jaden. so you better not try anything. She will not be cuddling up to you. We both know that she'll probably be taking the same bed as you, just like she did the last time the two of you had a sleepover. Got that?"
"...You seem different, somehow," said Chazz. "I dunno what it is, but-"
"Admittedly, recent events have...changed me. No, no, not just me. Me and several other fellow comrades of mine. We...cannot continue babying Jaden forever, but we cannot allow this sort of mindset to think she is truly invincible, either. There will be times when she needs us, and times when she doesn't."
"Wow, so you're finally getting past that overprotective barrier. But, just one question. I know I was frickin' brainwashed and stuff, but I don't remember the things I did. Whatever stuff I did while being brainwashed, it must have been bullshit, but...did I ever hurt Jaden?"
"...No, not physically. But you seemed to have both a slight bit of interest towards her than usual, and at times, you seemed disinterested at her. It was...rather confusing to watch. But you have insulted her a great number of times."
"Yeah, that sounds about me, alright. So, what now? Gonna give me a speech about how Jaden is the most wonderful person in the world, and if I hurt her, you'll kill me or something?"
"You seem to have the general idea, so there's no need for that. But...if you truly care for her, protect her. Even Duel Spirits cannot fully protect their own master. There are things that...humans are capable of doing that we Duel Spirits cannot, though we never choose to admit it out front. You WILL protect her, won't you?"
"...Yeah, of course," said Chazz. "Kinda have to make it up to her for all the bullshit my...my other self did. But I'm still gonna be my cool self towards her!"
Flame Wingman scoffed. "Winged Kuriboh will be with you two all night. Me and the others have duties to attend to in Skyscraper and our new Hero City. Oh, and cool? You're nothing more than some angsty, emo kid in my opinion."
"WHY YOU-! Aaaaand, he's gone."
"Whew! That was a sweet bath! Thanks for letting me borrow it, Chazz!" cheered Jaden, walking out of the bathroom while wearing a towel on her head and the rest her regular, fresh new clothes.
"Sure...Hey, I'm in a nice mood, so I'll let you wear my coat. Just for tonight, though! And you can't tell anyone!"
"Really? Yay!" Jaden rushed over to the coat rack and put it on, examining herself in a nearby mirror. "I'm Chazz, and I'm an emo tsundere!"
A tick mark appeared on Chazz's head. "You...I didn't say imitate and mock me!"
"You didn't say I couldn't, either! Hehehehe!~"
"That's it, get over here!"
"Eeeeek! Protect me, pillow!"
"Hey, that's my pillow! I need that to sleep tonight!"
"Get your own!"
"That IS mine, moron!"
Skit: Dirty Secrets
"Whoa, really?" wondered Jaden, writing everything she was hearing from the Ojama brothers down on a notepad. "Chazz did that?"
"Yup! He sings in the shower, too!"
"He once cosplayed as his favorite childhood superhero!"
"And, he likes baking sweets!"
"Awww! These are so cute!~" giggled Jaden.
"Plus, one time, he locked us out of his room, and we didn't know what he was doing, but he seemed to be breathing a lot and calling out your name. It was really weird."
"Green, no! We can't tell her that!"
"Tell me what? I'm just as confused as Green, too! I wonder what Chazz did...Eh, it probably wasn't important."
"Yeaahh...it really, really, REALLY wasn't important."
"..."
"..."
"...Did you know he keeps a secret stuffed animal underneath his bed?"
"Tell. Me. Everything.
Skit: Ojama Rangers
"Okay, guys! If you guys are gonna be in my deck, you gotta fit in with the superhero theme!" declared Jaden, as she was reorganizing her deck with the Ojama brothers added in.
"Ooh! Ooh! I wanna be the leader!" said Ojama Yellow.
"Why's it gotta be you? Why can't someone else be the leader?" questioned Ojama Black.
"I'm always the leader!"
"Well, can't I be the dog in that other game-"
"I'm always the dog!"
"Well, can't I be the car-"
"I'M ALWAYS THE CAR!"
"Guys, guys!" said Jaden. "We don't have much time! Costumes are important, but so is a superhero team name! How about...Power Ojamas?"
"Mmm...doesn't quite fit the bell. Why not the Ojama Trio?"
"Ooh! The Ojama Warriors!"
"No, the Ojama Rangers!"
"You had me at Rangers!"
Skit: Coat Fantasy
"Gah! I can't believe she cleaned this coat! I can smell the flowery fragrance in this!" complained Chazz as he made it back to his dorm. He flopped onto his bed and took off his coat, further engulfing his nose into it.
The sight of seeing Jaden in his coat made him feel...proud for some reason. Like, he was actually happy that Jaden wore his coat. Normally, he hated anyone that would try and wear his coat or even ruin it, but...Jaden was probably the exception.
Seeing her in his coat...seeing her like that was so mesmerizing...he thought of what might happen if she wore only her coat...with nothing else to we-
"GODDAMNIT!" yelled Chazz, curling up and trying to get such arousing thoughts out of his mind while the Ojama brothers watched, sweatdropping.
Hey, guys! So, I took advantage of some of the events that happened during the two part episodes and made them more funny and fitting for Chazz x Jaden!~ It was so much fun writing down those sort of scenes! Sure, the skits were a little rushed, and honestly, I couldn't think of anything more good to add in for the skits, but I guess the story is all that matters, at least the main points.
Read and review!~
