Day 47: Sunday the 4th, Neth, 4707

I woke up to Savah nudging me, telling me that it was time to get up. I got up and she seemed very pleased with herself that she managed to wake herself before I did, and got breakfast ready. I got dressed, cleaned up the room, and went out to have breakfast. Savah told me that she would be minding the store today, so she hoped that I had a good day in the shop. I told her that I would come to check in on her from time to time, and maybe go pick her up some lunch too. She smiled and I went to the shop to start my day.

I went into the shop and Veronica already had a large pile of fittings, wiring, and goods. I noted to her that she had done a very good job, but that today we needed to finish on the bikes. Veronica nodded and got the right tools out and got to work. We finished up on one of the bikes, Faunra's. I was certain that she would want some customizations later on. It was at the same level of quality as Savah's bike. I decided to go out to get lunch for Savah and myself while Veronica continued on Shalelu's bike. Having smaller hands certainly helped with the detail work.

I headed after checking in on Savah, it seemed like she was having a fairly slow day, but didn't want to shut down the shop. I went on out to Risa's Place and got a good meal to go for Savah and myself. Risa actually came out and sat me down to have a talk. She told me that she didn't take much of what the Scarnettis had spread around town about me, and that Savah and myself would always be welcome in her establishment for as long as we were allowed in town. I thanked her and headed back to the armory.

I got back to the armory, parked my bike, and went in to share lunch with Savah. She was glad to shut down the shop for us to take a meal. She told me that she had made a few minor sales, but that she feared that the Scarnettis were influencing people against her. I told her that we would work to ensure that we corrected this, even if it meant that we would have to work against the Scarnettis to get rid of them. Savah raised an eyebrow at that, and I amended my statement that I meant to make the political and social climate as inhospitable as possible, and make them want to leave. Savah smiled at that and noted that if we were staying on the other side of the river, they would have even less authority over us.

I asked Savah if it would behoove us to try to get this set up faster, and she told me that it would. I told her that it would take a lot of effort to clear out an area, and we didn't even know which area would be the best. Savah shrugged and said that maybe we should ask Madame Mvashti where the fates would smile upon us. I figured that it would be a good idea, and agreed with her. I asked her if she thought that I should just head over and ask her, and Savah told me that it could not hurt. I hugged her and headed out to Madame Mvashti's house. I went and got on my bike and headed over to the Farmer's Market where her house is.

She was, of course, expecting me. She asked me if I would be willing to let her ride on my bike. I told her to get on, and that I would try to keep it reasonable speed. She smiled and got on behind me. I brought the speed up at a normal pace, and she goaded me on to going faster and faster. We headed up Festival Street, and I was about to slow down to turn onto High Street but she told me to keep going and take Undercliff to the Tanner's Bridge. I did so, and banked the bike carefully with her holding on for dear life. She was laughing the whole time. We rode over the rickety bridge and she told me to slow down immediately after the bridge.

I did so and she indicated that I should stop just at the end, right next to the eastern side of the Turandarok River. She pointed to a section of the land that was relatively flat and told me that we should build right there. I thanked her but noted that the land was awful uneven. Madame Mvashti smiled and started casting a spell. I could see the ground start to get more fluid and turn into mud. She told me that I should go get Jonathan, and see if he can help. I asked her if she would be okay, and she said that she would be fine.

I rode off over the Tanner Bridge, and to the Bolting Barghest. Jonathan was standing outside the Bolting Barghest, seemingly cooling off. I asked him if the recruiting was going well. He told me that he wanted to rip out the throat of the last one. I asked if he wanted to blow off some steam. He smiled and followed me back to the area. He saw Madame Mvashti standing there, smiling. She told him that we had a lot of mud that had to be gotten rid of. He surged his power and lifting up about four tons of mud. A large amount of it lifted off of the area and launched to another area.

After about a minute, he had cleared out all of the mud and stones and was much happier with being able to launch all of that terrain. It was a four-foot deep, forty-foot-wide and forty-foot-long pit. Madame Mvashti was pleased with her work, and with how Jonathan managed to launch the amount that he had. I thanked Madame Mvashti for all her assistance, and she said that she was glad to help, and that in this area there would be room for expansion when we were ready for the school to be made. I thanked her again and asked if she needed anything for doing all of this. Madame Mvashti said that we would work this out later.

Her, Jonathan, and I all headed back. We Jonathan stopped back at the Bolting Barghest, where his frustration had been sufficiently vented, and I dropped Madame Mvashti back off at her house, thanking her again for her assistance. I caught myself wishing that we had something that could reproduce her efforts, but even modern equipment could hold a candle to the combined powers of her and Jonathan for the speed of land moving. Those are thoughts for later though, as I had other things to deal with at that moment, and I sped back to the Armory.

Instead of pulling back into the garage, I pulled up in front of the Savah's store and decided to use my prestidigitation powers to create snowballs that I then threw at the door. Savah eventually came to the door and looked at me. I smiled and told her to lock up, that I wanted to take her somewhere to show her something. She shrugged, locked the door, and then jumped on the back of the bike. I took off and drove down the road to get to Tanner Bridge. We went across the bridge and pulled over to the side. I showed her how we had broken ground on the first part of the building, Savah looked it over and asked how all of this had gotten done.

I told her that I had stopped by Madame Mvashti's and she had directed me here. Then she told me to go get Jonathan while she did something. When I got back, the area was full of mud, which Jonathan took great glee in launching a far distance to blow off steam. I dropped her off then came to get you. Savah asked how we would keep it safe from the weather until we got what we were building built on the grounds. I thanked her for being wiser than me and asked how she thought that we could get ahold of a pavilion tent. Savah said that we could try the Sandpoint Boutique. We turned the bike around and headed down to the Boutique.

While we were zipping down the street to the boutique, I saw that we were passing the Carpenter's Guild. I suggested to Savah that we stop and see what we could do about getting the Carpenter's guild started on making the building. I knocked on the door and opened it to so we could go in. Seated at a desk was the guild-master, Aesrick Battlehorn. I announced myself and asked if he would have time to talk to us. Aesrick recognized me from when I had him do the work to remodel the glassworks, and as such bade me and Savah to sit down. I started out with saying that I knew that Savah and myself were held in disfavor by one of his trading partners, and that if he didn't want to do business with us to preserve his working relationship, I would understand, but that we would like to commission a building being made on the other side of the Turandarok.

Aesrick managed to make it all the way through my pleading before giving me a hearty laugh. Aesrick noted that him and the Scarnettis were no friends, and that he was certain that they were connected with other nefarious groups in town. He also noted that he would be glad to work on my project, if I could show him what and were. I told him that if he went over the Tanner Bridge, he would see the plot of land that had been prepared. I told him that we would meet him there promptly, that we just had to pick something up before we made it there. Aesrick said that he would meet us there, and that he would bring along his architect, to go over what all we were planning. We thanked him and headed on our way.

We made our way down Festival Street and turned down Market street to get to the boutique, and went inside. Hayliss was there dealing with a customer, but she smiled at us. After the customer was dealt with, a youngish half-orc looking for a kind of perfume, Hayliss came over to us. She told us that she had heard about what Titus had tried to do, and that she was surprised that we were still here. Savah invited her over to dinner, to tell her everything, but that we had an important job to get through first. Hayliss asked what that was, and Savah whispered to her that we had broken ground on a new piece of land just outside of town and were looking to get it secured before any storms came in. Hayliss smiled and asked what we needed.

Savah looked about and asked if she had massively large tarp or a pavilion tent. Hayliss noted that tarps were more of the purvey of Ven's store, but that she did have a single, solitary Pavilion tent, but it was made out of the same material that my poncho was made out of, so it was a bit pricey. Savah asked how much, and Hayliss said that she would cut us a discount by only charging us four hundred gold. Savah looked to me, and I said that we would take it. I counted out twenty platinum pieces from my stock and handed them over. Hayliss smiled and took the money before asking what time she should come over. Savah told her that it would probably take us two hours to get everything all settled. Hayliss said that she would be there.

We gave out goodbyes and zipped down Market Street and turned to head up River Street. We got across the bridge and to the site just after Aesrick and his assistant. Aesrick marveled at how much had gotten done in such a short period of time. He noted that this would cut down on the amount of time it would take his men to get the job done. I told him that I wasn't looking to get his men short shifted, but that time was of the essence. Aesrick nodded and said that he could understand, what with Titus being pissed as he was.

Not wanting to waste any more time, I drew out a preliminary sketch of what I was looking for at the start. Aesrick and his assistant made minor suggestions, as did Savah, but overall, my design was good enough that Aesrick felt that they could work on it. He asked when I would like to start, and I told him tomorrow, if at all possible. He whistled and said that he could find the labor, but jumping in front of other projects was going to cost. I told him that we needed to be out of the old Glassworks in under a month. Aesrick said that some of the project might fall back on us, and I told him that we would be working to get things done as well. I noted that I had the fittings all done for the downstairs Lavatory already made, and would be working on more of the needed fittings later.

Aesrick nodded and asked how we were going to keep the site safe from the weather. Savah helped me as we pulled out the Pavilion Tent and started to erect it. To my surprise, Aesrick and his assistant both helped and we got the thing up in less than half an hour. I thanked the both of them, and Aesrick said that we were all under contract to get this thing built, and that we would be looking at a miracle if we would be getting it done in under two weeks. I noted to him that I would still have some modifications that I would be looking into having done, but that we would need to get a further contract for those. Aesrick nodded and said that it was good doing business with someone who knew what he was wanting.

We all parted ways and Savah and I returned back to the Armory. We arrived back just in time to get something easy and simple whipped up for dinner. It turned out that it was Oren, Arika, James, Hayliss, Savah, and myself. We told all of the assembled of what had transpired in the impromptu meeting, and how Titus was pissed, so we were taking action quickly to get our new place set up. We explained to James that he would be the main person here, but that we would be available to help if something came up. He nodded and said that he would have to hire help once he figured out where everything was. Apparently Lonjiku was very secretive with his notes and his orders. More than once I thought I saw Hayliss sneaking a glance at James when he was looking away, but I might have just been imagining things.

After the dinner, Veronica asked me for her marching orders, and I told her to keep working on the bath and lavatory fittings that we would need. She scoped out my mind again and confirmed her orders. Savah and I are going to spend the night together, just relaxing and talking about the building and our plans.
