Day 58: Toilday the 15th, Neth, 4707
When I got up, Savah was already up and out of the bedroom. I got up, cleaned up the bedroom, and got dressed. Bailey was waiting and I took her out to go do her business. Savah was sitting at the table, drinking her coffee. She told me that she had a bad headache, and I asked her if she wanted anything from my medicine pack. She took up the offer, and I after some questions and frustrated responses, I gave her what I thought would work the best and she took it with some coffee. I told her that I would make breakfast when I came back from taking Bailey out. She nodded while nursing her head.
Bailey was quick to do her business and get back inside. I resolved to prestidigitate the feces when I got back outside after breakfast. I brought Bailey back inside and took her into the bedroom. I made up a light fruit and cheese breakfast for her. Savah picked at it and said that she would eat her fill before heading over to her store. I offered to run the store for Savah and she shook her head.
Savah went to her store after some silence, and I got her armor, and bringing it to the workshop. When I got to the workshop, Veronica was already setting up for Savah's armor. We both got to work on it, and focused entirely on it. Vaeren apparently had come and started working on his bike. He didn't work nearly as fast as our team did, but was doing work at a good pace. Savah's armor was done before lunch. I got it ready and gave Veronica her further orders of working on whatever was left for the house. Veronica waved to me with her tools and respond back sure thing boss.
I went to Savah's shop and saw that she was sitting there, apparently she was still waiting for the first person to show up. I quietly told Savah that her armor was completed. I helped her get into it and she started to adjust it to make it fit perfectly. Savah thanked me for the upgrade and noted that she felt even safer now. I thanked her and told her that if she was good, I would head out to the work site and check on how things were going. Savah told me it was fine and I went back to the garage.
I got my bike ready and I thought about the changes that the various people were making to the bikes. I realized that this was a much different time, and everything was much more personal and individually designed. There really isn't a place for industrialization yet. I don't want to force the world along this path, and I hope that a school for science doesn't do that. I made my way to the build site on my bike after locking up.
Aesrick and his team were working hard on getting everything done. I could tell that they were working hard to get the project done. I took some time to make sure that the power tools that I had made them were all ready to go. Aesrick noted that if I could get more tools like this, and he could find a good way to keep them working right, that he could make buildings reliably in at least a third of the time. I told him that he could get in touch with Faunra and that she might be able to enchant them to do what I do every day, once a day, and that this would probably not be that expensive.
Aesrick muttered something that sounded like not trusting knife ears. I told him that Faunra had been a reliable enchanter for a lot of things that I had, and a trusted battle companion, and besides it was business. People didn't mess up business when word of mouth mattered. Aesrick said that he would think about it, and I told him that she really was very reliable, and a boon to this town, no matter what the rumors are alleging. I asked to just think about it, if for no reason that she was the only enchanter that I knew that was at least somewhat knowledgeable with my technology. At least until my school opened up anyway.
Aesrick noted that we still had not formalized any plans for the school, and I told him that I needed to do some background research into how many pupils I might be expecting, to really get the floorplans right. Aesrick nodded, and said that it always looked better when something was built all at one time than in stages. I agreed and said that if he had any issues, he could get a message to me at the Armory, that I would probably be moving Veronica in to the Workshop later today, since it was finished and ready to go. Aesrick said that he would warn his crew about her when she got here.
I decided to drop by the Hagfish to get Savah her favorite lunch as a pick me up. I placed the order and waited for it to be assembled. Jargie was there, and we discussed a bit more about how the Crystalhue ceremony was going to be a lot bigger than expected and he got the names of some of the more famous people who would be attending. He went over the Cheddar Bay biscuit recipe that I had given him and asked me to try one of them. There was a little bit of an adjustment to make, and I told him what it seemed like it needed. He nodded and said that he thought a lot of the same about it, but wanted to be sure.
Jargie told me that he was glad that I had given him that recipe because he has had a lot of interest in it from the people who heard about it, and I told him that I was glad that it was working out for him. I told him that the next thing he needs to do if start frying peeled shrimp and setting up quick bags. I told him that he could probably make some of the ingredients up in advance and keep them in a hot area, if he contacted Vaeren and had him cast his continual heat spell and put that in an area. Jargie asked if that was Ilsoari's assistant at the Turandarok Academy, and I told him that it was. He said that he would check in to see how much it might cost him.
The food came out and I paid for it. I thanked Jargie and told him that I would be dropping by in a few days to confirm everything for the event. He nodded and continued to serve the other patrons. I secured the meal to the back of my bike and went off. I got back to the garage and locked the bike up. I brought the food to Savah and she thanked me, not only for the food but for the head ache medicine. I told her that I didn't mind helping out with the shop if she'd like. Savah shook her head and told me that I should make sure that everything that is prepared for the move this weekend. I told her that I would and gave her a hug before heading back to the shop.
Veronica was busily working away on some more goods for the new house. I joined in and started working on other things for the house. After a few hours, I figured that I needed to get food set up for us for dinner. I went into our pantry and found that I still had not gotten it refilled. I tried to figure out something fairly easy to make, and found that we didn't have much to work with. A few tomatoes, some dried meat, some cheese, and the last of the breads. I made some French bread pizza loaves.
Oren, Arika, and James were all in their rooms, and they all came out and got some. I took a loaf to the store, and it was locked up. I went to the bedroom, and Savah was already in bed. I took her the food in bed and she thanked me. I told her to just rest up and that I hoped her headache got better. She nodded and I let her get some rest.
I went back to the shop and finished off the last few things that we could easily make for the house. I resolved tat tomorrow I would take Veronica over to the new house to get her set up in the workshop. Maybe she could work on making some new power tools for Aesrick while she was there.
