Day 59: Fireday the 16th, Neth, 4707

I got up extra early today to ensure that I could get food set up and get Bailey dealt with. Bailey was more than happy to be let out fairly early. I decided that I would start Veronica on the shock batons, and that I would end up refilling both pantries today. I'd also figured that I'd ask if Vaeren had figured out how to modify the constant heat spell to provide continual cold in the area. It would definitely be useful for a pantry storage area.

Bailey was fairly quick with her business, and fairly happy to get her hunk of ham afterwards. I started up making breakfast and coffee for everyone. Oren and Arika were actually scheduled to have the day off, and James was up early. I got them all food and apologized to James that we would be leaving to go to the other house. James said that he was fine with it between bites, that he was about done with all of the translation efforts that needed to be done. James added that Ameiko was taking a bit more interest in the affairs of the Glassworks and ensuring that everything is above board. I told James that it really was the best way, that where I was from, all they could do is throw you in jail, but here, a rampaging revenant or another monster bent on revenge can show up when you least expect it.

Oren told me that they have Sunday off, to help move things over. I told him that his room was already done, if they wanted to check it out today, they could go with me to the site today, and I would introduce them to Aesrick. I told him that I was already planning on taking Veronica over there today, so it would be a good enough time to introduce everyone. Arika told me that she had already made plans to work with her sister today in the bakery, just because she had not spent a lot of time there recently. I looked to Oren, and he told me that he was really just planning on taking a tour around the town to look for more areas where safety can be addressed, but that he would be glad to go check out the new place.

I thanked him and told him that we could load up his bike with goods and we could both take the trip after I got Savah set up. Oren nodded and I took Savah her food. She was already sitting up in bed when I came in with her coffee and food. She took them from me and I asked her if she was okay. She told me that she had a headache again, and I asked her if she thought that she might be sick. She shook her head, and said that it just seemed to be a headache. I asked her if she wanted another set of headache pills and she said yes. I dug them out of my backpack and gave them to her. I asked her if she would want me to run the store for her, and she told me that she would be fine opening up after the medicine kicked in.

After she told me that she would be opening the store, I told her that Oren and I would be going to the site today, and that he would be helping to move things on Sunday. Savah asked me if I had asked Jonathan if he would be willing to help, since he can lift thousands of pounds at a time with his mind. I smacked myself on the forehead, and said that it had not even crossed my mind, but that I would today. I thanked her for her memory and wisdom. Savah smiled and said that it was just not something that I was used to.

I gave Savah a kiss on the head and got fully armed and armored up. Oren was in the garage, getting his bike ready. He was armored up as well, in his B4C shirt. I really have to increase the armor of the guards of this town, at least to the level that the group's armor used to be. Also, I need to make sure that the paladins and such that come here to help out with the ghoul menace. I will have to set up with whatever place they are mustering in at to ensure that that they are getting their allotted armor. I was also going to have to work with Rynshinn to get her to start getting their quilted armor completed for it to be modified.

I got Veronica from the shop. She was ready for me to get her. I lifted her up like a kid and carried her to the back of my bike. Oren was very amused by seeing me carry Veronica and noted that I'd already looked like I would make a good dad. I laughed and said that it wasn't the first child that I had carried like this before. Oren nodded and asked how we were going to get all of the materials from here to the work site. I loaded up my cart and attached Savah's cart to the back of Oren's bike.

Oren then helped me load up everything from the shop and we headed out to the work site. The ride there was fairly simple, as two people riding motorcycles, when one of them was a town guard, were not to be bothered. Aesrick was there and I introduced Oren and Veronica to him. Aesrick was most intrigued with Veronica, and asked what it might cost to have one made for him. I told Aesrick that he would have to talk to Faunra again for that, as she was the one who had made Veronica for me. Aesrick nodded and showed us what was left to be worked on. He noted that there would be some upper areas around the outside that were porches and others that were closed in, but that we should be able to have all around vision of the property.

I set Veronica up in the workshop and she immediately got to work making it more to our liking. Oren and I offloaded the rest of the goods for the house and Aesrick told us that he had informed the rest of the crew about the construct in the Workshop. I thanked him and told him that if they brought the tools by at the end of the day, Veronica would clean and repair any issues with them for the next day. Aesrick thanked me and said that they would do so.

While Oren was taking a look around his new room, he told me that he liked the thought of having a porch facing back towards the town. I told him that it was intentional, that I wanted him to be able to look out over the town so that he could gauge its progress first thing. I told him that I wanted him to be able to see the effect that he was having on his community. Oren smiled and asked why I didn't have my room able to see the town. I told him that my room would be looking out over the new school, so that I could see what I was bringing in to the world and Oren nodded sagely.

We headed out from there and made stop at the Bolting Barghest. There were some people outside picketing because… reasons. I listened to what they were saying their complaints were, mostly that Jonathan was taking away all of the business from other locals, and I asked them if they knew about the new things that The Hagfish was offering, or how Risa had started offering sandwiches to go, or the new desert from the White Deer, or any of the other innovations that the restaurants in town were developing, stuff that even Magnimar did not have yet. They kind of quieted down for a minute and I continued with telling them that the fact that people were going to be able to get from here to Magnimar in under two days in the near future, without magic, means that all of the businesses here in Sandpoint would be getting a lot more business and it was all thanks, in a large part, to Jonathan. The crowd dispersed with notions of fixing up their own businesses to take advantage of the influx that would surely come soon.

Jonathan came out and thanked me and gave Oren a hearty handshake. I told him that I didn't mind doing it at all, and that I could tell that there were other sources behind these rumors, and not his own cause. I told him that we were here to ask a favor of him. I told him that we were looking to move out to the new house from the Glassworks on Sunday. I was hoping that he would be available to help us move, since he could just lift a wagon and move it in large amounts. Jonathan said that it was no issue at all, and that he was really just waiting to find out when we would be moving to offer to help himself. I thanked him again and told him that we might be by later to pick up lunch. Jonathan nodded and said that he was training the bards tomorrow and asked if I could drop by to give them both some samples for drink flavors. I told him that I would and we said our goodbyes.

Oren and I made our way back to the Glassworks and Oren noted that he was going to go spend the day looking at the progress of the wall and what else should be done. I wished him well and went into the workshop. Vaeren was there, working on his bike. I walked over and asked him how things were going. Vaeren told me that he was working on finding a way to supercharge his bike, but that he was having a bad issue with icing. I told him that the way I got around it was to use the alchemical item of Ice Crystals to cool off the water. Vaeren said that this might work, but that he was do everything possible himself. I told him that since we didn't have the means to make a true radiator, or many of the other things, I had decided to utilize alchemy and magic to fill the void.

Vaeren nodded and said that he would think about it. I thought about it and asked him how he was getting icing. Vaeren told me that he had developed a reverse of the constant heat spell, constant cold, which worked much the same but with cold. I asked if I could get him to cast that for me. Vaeren said that he would if he could work in the new workshop. I said that he was more than welcome to. Vaeren told me that he didn't have it prepared, but that he would cast it tomorrow. He would need a chunk of quartz, but that it didn't need to be a valuable one. I said that I would get one. Vaeren went back to work, and I went about mixing up some more material for the boron process. I got everything as ready as I could and wanted to ensure that it was right.

At lunch time, I checked in on Savah and she seemed to be doing better. I asked her if she wanted a Barghest Burger. Savah smiled and said that she did. I got on my bike and headed over. Jonathan welcomed me and already had Savah and my usual order ready. Jonathan asked me if I knew what I would be doing from here on out, and I told him that I would likely be working on the shock maces for the Lord-Mayor's safety retinue. He nodded and asked what I was going to do after that. I noted that I still had some orders for bikes and armors left. Jonathan acknowledged and asked what I was going to do after that. I thought for a minute and told him that I had no idea. Jonathan told me that I should find out what I want to do and do it.

I thought about that after I left. It is important to find something that I want to do for a long time. I will have to look into the possibilities later on. I got back to Savah's store and got her the Burger. She tore into it with gusto. I set aside her fries and drink and sat down to eat as well. I got through my fries and was starting on my drink when Savah demanded my burger as well. She offered her fries as a swap. I took the deal and made them flavored like Arby's curly fries.

I finished off my portions of the meal and checked with her to make sure that she was feeling better. Savah said that she was, and that she was sure that she would be feeling much better once we got into the new house. I told her that I had talked with Jonathan and he agreed to help. Savah said that this would help get things done much quicker. I agreed and told her that I would be getting back to work setting up all of the items and systems I could here at the Glassworks back to the way that they were before we modified them. Savah agreed and noted that we should leave it better than we arrived.

I went out of the shop to go over all of the changes that had been made. I had a fair list, and decided to start on some of the more minor things. Packing would take up the next few days. I got a notice from Veronica that someone had entered the workshop. Then a notice that they left again quickly. I told her to keep an eye out and let me know if they ever do more. Veronica said that she would.

I ended up realizing that we would be leaving the pantry empty. Now, when we got here, the pantry was empty, but that didn't mean that we needed to do the same to James. I went over to the Farmer's Market and placed an order for ten gold worth of good to be delivered to the Glassworks, then another similar amount to be delivered to the new house. I also got us a pack of eleven pullets and a cockerel to be delivered to the property after they were hatched out and raised. We'd have to get started making the coop and the runs after we moved in, but starting up a tiny bit of a farm would do me good too.

I was already headed back to the shop before I realized that I would need to get drinks for both this place and the new place. I figure that I could drop by the Two Knights Brewery and place an order after I got a better look at the new pantry. Getting some other types of goods for the pantry would be important too, but that was stuff to think about later. I figured that I needed to get some actual progress done on the building. I got back into the workshop and took apart the argon generating system and packed it up.

I wouldn't need more than what I was going to use in the next two days and carting around that stuff was a bit dangerous. At a worst case, I'll dump it in the temple underneath us or something. I mean it is not like it is toxic waste or anything like that. Honestly, it should just recombine with the native air. Maybe if I ever get a functional chemistry set I'll work on figuring out just what the air composition is here, to see if it is any different from Earth's.

With everything packed up that I could for the day, I decided to make everyone food for the night. A simple but decent meal. Savah, James, Oren, and Arika were all back and sat down. For another night, we all talked about plans and thoughts about the future. I listened as best I could to everyone, and enjoyed the fact that I was there with the people who were close to me, and of course James. Savah and I went to bed after dinner and she told me that we could begin moving things over starting tomorrow.
