Day 61: Sunday the 18th, Neth, 4707

Our first day in the new house! I got up from bed and Bailey was waiting to go out. I got dressed enough to look out of the porch, and Bailey followed me. I looked to the yard from the porch and asked Bailey where they wanted their new dog house. Bailey looked at me oddly and I said that I didn't imagine that Bailey would want to be inside the house all day, and that we could whip up a dog house for when they wanted to be outside. Bailey looked out onto the yard and pointed their nose to a section of leveled off ground. I nodded and marked the area in my mind.

I stretched a bit and set up some food to cook in the kitchen before walking downstairs with Bailey. Bailey followed me, and I went to the back door. I opened it up and Bailey ran out. I walked out to take a look at the Turandarok River while enjoying some cinnamon tea. Veronica sent me a message asking me what she should start working on. I thought for a second and told her to start working on making some useful tools that the people of the town might need, that we would have to wait to see if anyone from our list would show up today to work on their armor.

Veronica sent me back an affirmative just as Bailey came back. Bailey had something in their mouth, and dropped it in front of me. I reached down and picked it up, and it was a tiny blue crystal. I looked it over for a second before I felt it pull towards my pistol holster. I focused my eyes and it started to glow. Before I could do anything, it adhered itself to the handle of my pistol. I swore to myself and hoped that it wouldn't destroy or teleport my gun away.

My gun teleported into my hand instantaneously. I was a bit confused and put my pistol away. I thought about my wanting my pistol in my hand, and it teleported into it again. I asked Bailey where they found that, and Bailey led me to where they found it. It was where Bailey had pointed to where they wanted their dog house. I looked around and saw that they had dug a bit of a hole, so It didn't look like it was something that was lost by one of the workers. I think I'll hold onto it in case someone comes looking for it.

Savah yelled down to us good morning and I looked up to her, smiled and told her good morning. I told her that I had breakfast started in the kitchen and would be heading back up. Savah said that she'd join me there shortly. Bailey looked up at me and rushed to the door. I followed them back and went back upstairs. The food was ready, and I plated it and took it into the common room. Savah was there with her coffee. I set the food down on the table for the both of us, and asked what she was planning on doing today.

Savah smiled and said that she was going to take a day to rest today and be ready for her Grand Re-opening. Then she asked me what I intended on doing today. I told her that I would be building a dog house outside for Bailey and put out the call for anyone of the group's significant others to get their armors updated. Savah nodded and noted that she really was liking how the new armor fit, she just wished that she could get it on and off easier. I told her that I could work on making it easier to get off, but getting on would require some kind of magic. I added that Bailey had found a crystal that had attached itself to my pistol. I showed it to Savah and told her what it did. She told me that she had heard about something like this before, and that it was an interesting find.

We got up and I noted that it would be a good thing to get an automatic coffee pot for us for in here or in the kitchen. Just then Oren and Arika came in, and I noted that breakfast was made and that there was coffee in the kitchen. Oren and Arika nodded before heading to the kitchen while Savah and I headed back to the bedroom to get fully dressed. We got dressed in our armors and headed downstairs. Savah set about ensuring that her shop was set up and ready for tomorrow. I took a tour around the workshop and saw that Veronica was working steady on some minor items like vice grips and clamps. I took some of my tools out to the yard and started working on Bailey's new dog house.

It was fairly sneaky to do, but back during the closing up of the temple complex, I had pulled some of that enchanted wood that was prevented from decaying from the complex underneath the Glassworks and figured that I would use that for Bailey's house. It wasn't like I could find a real combat purpose for boards that just didn't suffer the ravages of time, but could still be cut just fine. All in all, it didn't take me too long to get everything done. I stopped in the middle of the day for lunch, and Savah and I enjoyed some chicken Caesar salads that I made, at least what I could make from what we had available. I went back to work with Bailey bounding around me. Veronica sent me a missive that stated that she had completed a few general items for sale that could be placed in Savah's store. I thanked her and asked her to start work on a transmitter set up for the house with one of the radios and a larger antenna. Veronica replied to the affirmative and I went back to work on the dog house.

It was about time for dinner when I was done with the doghouse. Not having access to a full range of power tools made me realize how much I was missing out on. I resolved to make a full workshop when we got the school together, along with the classrooms. I went back inside and started a good meal. Savah looked to have made quite a few promotional signs for her grand re-opening and had placed them around town at her old locations. They included maps to her new location, and even a flyer for the interested to reference for a discount. It seems that she took my advice to heart.

Oren and Arika were back from their shifts, and noted that they were fairly happy with the new set up. I reminded everyone that we would need to get good locks put on this place, especially the workshops and the store. Everyone agreed and Oren asked if we were planning on doing anything tonight. Savah noted that we were going to be getting some rest tonight to be prepared for the big day, but after tomorrow, we would probably resume our dates. Oren nodded and said that he would look into getting Volioker to see when he could be available to install some locks tomorrow. I thanked him, and noted that I would also be working on getting people's armor updated, including Oren's and Arika's. They both thanked us and I told them to just let us know when they were going to be off work for a day, so that we could have time to work on it. Oren told me that they would and went out for a night on the town.

They were already using the garage, so I was happy. Things were actually looking up for now, and I was beginning to think that things were really going to work out. I'd start up with my performances and my movie showings during the off days for Cyrdak's Theater, and performing at the Rusty Dragon again. I could keep the stories different enough to allow for people to want to see either, and still try to keep time with Savah sacred. Savah and I finished off our food and went to bed.
