Day 78: Wealday the 5th, Kuthona, 4707

I woke up today in the tent, a few hours before dawn, to the smell of fresh bacon and all other kinds of food. Apparently, Jonathan had dipped into the stores of food that we had and gotten the trio of Black Arrows well on their way to being well fed again. I got up and got dressed. There were a lot of things on my mind, and I needed to know the answers to at least half of them. Jonathan asked me if I needed food, and I gladly took a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Jakardros stood up from where the three were seated and walked over to me.

I was a bit on guard but he motioned to show that he wasn't meaning any danger or threat. When he got to me, he told me that the rest of my group had filled him in on some of my history, and he wanted to ask me a question. I warily told him to go ahead and ask. Jakardros asked me if I really had been the one who finished off that Ogre after we killed the dragon. I told Jakardros that I had merely finished the job that the others had started. Jakardros shook his head and asked me if I had indeed fought against the Ogre with everyone else. I told him that we had, and that I could understand why it was difficult to put them down.

Jakardros told me that this wasn't his point at all, just that he wanted to know why I went out to kill the dragon and then the ogre when I could be doing things to help the town, back in the town. I told him that it didn't seem right to let the rest of the group face the threat of the dragon when we had faced so much together. Jakardros asked me if I worried about what would have happened if I was slain. I told him that I had left two constructs in the possession of my fiancée, with instructions to get them transferred over to her, so that the work could continue under her instruction and goals.

Jakardros nodded and noted that he didn't have the luxury of having a support staff back at the Fort anymore. I told that I was indeed sorry for the loss of his men, but that there are always those who would stand up for what is needed, as long as you take the chance to find them. I added that it seemed to me that his Fort would desperately need some reinforcement, and that if he and his crew would continue to defend the land and this community, I would work to try to get them the resources that they would need. Jakardros asked me how I could do that, and I asked him if the rest of the group mentioned how we had gotten the Lord-Mayor, the heads of several church in Magnimar, and the leaders of two mage guilds in Magnimar to all agree to come to the wedding we would be having on Crystalhue.

Jakardros looked at Shalelu and she looked a bit sheepish for once. I told Jakardros that we had saved the Lord-Mayor's life, and that we were keeping him as close as we could to being indebted to us for all that we did for him, without him feeling resentful about it. I told Jakardros that when we got back to Magnimar, I would hype up how the threat here had magnified since the events that we had saved the had occurred, and that they were linked. Jakardros noted that he wasn't sure that this would work, and I told him that even if it didn't, that I would convince Savah to sell them the high end armors and weapons that we were making at as low a cost as we could.

Jakardros laughed and noted that the group had talked up the armor that I had made, and that it had saved them more than once. I noted that it was just a product of the place where I was from. Jakardros said that he would like to talk to me more about some of the things I had made later, but that he had been told that I had to go talk to Faunra after I got up. I thanked him and whispered to him that I had more to talk to him about as well. Jakardros didn't let on that he heard me, and I went on to talk to Faunra.

Faunra was in her tent, starting her meditation. I stopped, but she beckoned me to come in. She asked me what I had focused on when I had manifested that spell. I told her that I was so angry that I wanted Jakardros to be humiliated. Faunra stifled a laugh and flipped over her spell book. She showed me the proper incantation, maneuvers, and material components to perform the spell that I had cast. Apparently it is called "Grease". Faunra told me that it seemed that I was more like a sorcerer than a wizard, even thought my apparent form of magic took a much more scholarly bent. Faunra asked me if I wanted to be surprised by which spells I might be able to cast, or if I'd like to know which ones I know how to cast.

I thought about it for a minute. I mean, this is kind of like do you want to know what your kid is going to be like. Then I realized that all of this might be a very beneficial thing for me to know, so I told her that it would probably be better for me to know. Faunra nodded and stood up, walking outside. She brought Dame Rebekah in, and Dame Rebekah noted that she had prayed for a spell that could tell her what spells I knew, as long as I didn't try to resist. I told her that I would not.

Dame Rebekah cast her spell, and looked to Faunra. Faunra told her that it was fine to speak them aloud. Dame Rebekah told us both that the spells that I could cast were Grease and Unseen Servant, and the cantrips Arcane Mark, Ghost Sound, and some spell called Jolt. Faunra told me what the spells did and how they all worked. She noted that Jolt was a somewhat rare spell that caused an arc of electricity to reach out from the spellcaster to strike the target. She noted that the Cantrips I should be able to cast as needed, bringing in the ambient magical energy and focusing it to the effect that is needed. Faunra noted that it was likely that I could only access enough energy to manifest either Grease or Unseen Servant a handful of times a day.

Faunra noted that normally, when a starting sorcerer cast those spells, an Unseen Servant would only last about an hour. I went through the motions and this time I didn't pass out. Faunra noted that the spell had indeed taken effect, and she had me have it take down the Pavilion Tent. She noted that it should be able to complete that task and I would know that it was gone. I focused my mind towards having this invisible force do what was needed. Immediately, Dame Rebekah's pavilion tent started to disassemble. Faunra noted that there was a very limited distance that it could get away from me, before it would dissipate.

We went about the rest of our morning, and I went to get everything ready for the day. By the time I was done, an hour had gone and I felt the presence of the servant. I gave it the order to help me take care of and pack up the rest of my gear. It did so, and Faunra came over to ask me if I recast the spell. I told her that I had not, and that it had come over to me to get further instructions. Faunra told me that it wasn't the rarest thing in the world for a spellcaster to have a specialized spell that works better than the others they can cast. I shrugged and asked if there was any reason to worry about the ability being stronger. Faunra noted that it was something normally associated with specialist wizards, but that there had been cases of others.

We got together with the rest of the Black Arrows and started discussing the situation. Apparently, Jakardros and his crew had been out on a patrol and were waylaid on the way back, only to find that the Fort had fallen and ogres had taken it over. Jakardros acknowledged that he had lost a full third of his crew to the attempt to retake the Fort. I asked if they had done a frontal assault or tried other methods. Vale noted that they had attempted a frontal assault, but that there were a few other methods of attempting to get in. I asked if there were dangers that we needed to be wary of. Vale noted that there was the issue of the shocker lizards in the cave, but that they shouldn't be there right now.

He added that there was the Eagle Aerie where they would send messages, but that the likely had not been fed in the whole time, so we might want to focus on getting into the Fort and then worrying about it later. Vale noted that if we could not go through the shocker lizards cave or the Eagle Aerie, then we would need to sneak in through the main entrance. I looked to Jonathan and asked if he thought that everyone was up to learning about paratroopers. Jonathan smiled and said that it would be an experience. Dame Rebekah and Faunra looked at me confused, and I told them that we would explain it. I asked if Shalelu and the Black Arrows could get ensure that there are no further ogre patrols in the area, as I wanted to make sure that we got all of them. Shalelu noted that they could but would be nearby if they were needed.

I thanked them for helping ensure that we get everyone, and noted that we were going to have to run quickly to get there while there was any chance of daylight. I noted that I was okay with a nocturnal assault on the compounded, but that we needed to see what it was that was that we were dealing with. Kaven, the one who had been sporting the tattoo noted that one of us should head to Magnimar to get assistance. The other Black Arrows were about to say that this was an excellent idea, when Jonathan pulled out his Sending Stone.

"Near Rannick, overrun by Ogres. Attempting Retake. Need many reinforcements from Magnimar. Send Jasper to Lord-Mayor with stone. Chelger – Rebekah good. Savah- David now spellcaster." Was the message he spoke into it. It took a few minutes, before the response was set back. "Received. Will Send stone with Jasper. Restaurant running fine. Savah informed. Chelger will be. Savah says good job. Assassins executed. Bandits Executed. Tower is okay." Jonathan smiled and said that this was a good idea, and word was already heading to Magnimar. Kaven asked how long it would take to get there. I spoke up and said that my bikes can get from Sandpoint to Magnimar in under four hours, and that my special line of bikes can get there in under two and a half hours.

Kaven said that I was lying, and Dame Rebekah mentioned that it was truth that my bike can make the journey from Sandpoint to Magnimar in four hours, that we had done it less than a week ago. Then Jonathan dropped the bomb, and asked Kaven when he got the Sihedron tattoo. Kaven tried to lie, saying that he had gotten it a long time ago and the other Black Arrow, a man by the name of Vale, said that this was a lie, that he had been involved in Kaven's training, and that Kaven had no such tattoo when he arrived at the Fort. Jakardros asked what the significance of the tattoo was. Dame Rebekah told him that the tattoo was related to a cult that was sacrificing people to provide power for an evil ritual.

Right on cue, I had the pictures from the crime scene of Banny Harker up on my tablet, showing everyone. Kaven was starting to sweat, and I could see that he was looking for a way out. I had my Unseen Servant drag some logs behind him to hem him up from running away. Kaven was panicking and said that what we were saying was untrue. I told him that we had in no way misrepresented our mission or why we had been given our mission. If we needed to, we could go talk to Mayor Shreed, and maybe we could ask if you had been spotted on the Paradise by any of the locals, as that was where the tattoos were being given out.

Kaven jumped up and tried to run, not realizing the logs in the way, and Jonathan managed to hit him with a few blasts that knocked out the traitor. Jakardros asked Vale to provide the punishment to traitors of Rannick, and Vale set Kaven's head up on one of the logs and beheaded him. It was really anticlimactic for such a big reveal. I apologized to Jakardros for having to lose another of his men. Jakardros said that he didn't want a traitor at his back. I told him that I could easily understand that.

We did a hasty burial of Kaven and worked on the plans. Jonathan, Dame Rebekah, Faunra, and I would all get ourselves up high and land on the top of the fort while Shalelu, Jakardros, and Vale would all do sweeps for any returning Ogres. We all agreed that we would spend an hour or so watching the fort to try to figure out anything that could help before doing so. We mounted up on the bikes, with Jakardros cautiously getting on the back of Faunra's bike while Vale got on the back of Shalelu's bike. Jonathan moved over to mine and said hi as he got on behind me. Dame Rebekah got on her steed and we all started rushing towards the Fort.

It was only twenty miles or so, so we got there in less than two hours. We pulled up a decent way away from the Fort and we looked over what we could see. Jonathan made one of his platforms and I stood on it with him so we could get a look over the Fort. Jonathan noted it first, and pointed it out to me. From what I could see, there was an absolute death trap in the fort and I noted it to ask the Black Arrows when we got back down. After ten minutes of observation, we saw a pair of ogres sneaking up to the top of a tower that had a large bell. The looked to be arguing or challenging or something.

We watched this for a few minutes. Eventually, one of them pushed the other into the bell. The bell rang out and they looked like they were panicking. After a few minutes, a large Ogre came with a giant hook and hide armor. He beat the ogres until they rushed down the stairs. I looked to Jonathan and smiled. We lowered and told this to everyone. Faunra and Dame Rebekah noted that we could take out that big Ogre and start from there. I noted that if we could get up on the tower that I could possibly start a fire in new barracks. Jonathan noted that he could set up a large blockage in front of the door.

Jakardros noted that it would be a little bit harder to ignite from the outside. Faunra said that she had a way to turn her arrows into pure fire if it was needed. I noted that we had a couple of options when we got up there, and if we needed to we could finish sneaking through the Fort and take out all of them one at a time. Jakardros said that it seemed like we were over confident. Dame Rebekah noted that he and his crew failed because they were facing all of the ogres at one time, instead of one at a time. Jakardros said that this made a kind of sense, but that we should still be cautious. Faunra said that we would.

We bade our goodbyes, and well wishes, and parted ways. We made our way into the woods and stopped just outside of view of the residents. I asked everyone what they thought that we should do about the approach. No one had any real ideas, but then I remembered that Ogres could only see up to sixty feet in the darkness, so that if we could keep outside of their range of view, we could do a night time assault. I asked if anyone knew any spells that could help with the seeing in darkness bit. Everyone noted that they could see in the darkness just fine, and that I was the odd one out.

Faunra whipped out a scroll and told me that I would be able to see for an hour in the darkness if I used this scroll on myself. I whipped it out and it started changing before my eyes. It was now a very rudimentary set of setting modifications for my phone to allow me use the camera in the darkness. I copied the formula into my cell phone and it disappeared off the page. I studied the formula and it disappeared into my apps. We all got ready and waited in our hiding spot. Jonathan and Dame Rebekah left for a little bit and came back with a rudimentary basket.

We waited until after dark and Jonathan lifted the basket off the ground and all four of us piled in. I loaded up the app for the phone and set it up on my rifle. We shot up sixty feet in six seconds. Jonathan lifted us up another thirty feet before stopping our ascent and starting to move us over the tower. Eventually, we were about sixty feet above the top of tower. Faunra quietly brought forth her enchantment and whispered to us that we were safe from falling damage before jumping off the basket. Dame Rebekah followed almost immediately. I looked at Jonathan and he smiled his vicious smile. I jumped ship quickly as he did the same. He launched the basket at the door to the death trap.

I looked at the sodden walls and then saw some dried out lumber underneath the building as I was landing on the tower. I took aim and fired at the wood pile. The pellet from my sizzling air rifle went through the air and burrowed deeply into the wood pile, sparking up a large fire somehow. I knew that this would be enough, knowing that none of the ogres would likely know the fire triangle. We landed on the tower top and the rest of the group took no seconds to wait.

Dame Rebekah took aim with her shield and slammed the bell. Faunra whipped out a scroll and made the illusion of an Ogre standing near the bell stupidly looking like it was ready to ring the bell again. We rushed over to behind the trap door and listened. We heard thumping from below, sounding exactly like I imagined an ogre rushing up the stairs would sound like. Dame Rebekah called forth a blessing and Faunra used another scroll to invoke a few images around her. She handed me a wand and told me to say the word "Brynja" and touch Jonathan. I did so, and he seemed to have a field around him.

I asked if I should use it on anyone else and she shook her head and told me to hold onto it for later. We heard the massive booming noise coming up from the trap door. We might have another six seconds, so Faunra cast a spell and time slowed down again as I recognized it as a haste spell. Dame Rebekah invoked a Protection from Evil effect that expanded to all of us. Jonathan slung a piece of rubble at the bell to make it ring again and then spent the time to focus up his power. I focused on ensuring that we got the drop on this thing.

Then the chaos happened. It really wasn't chaos. Faunra launched a series of arrows into the massive wall of flesh that was the ogre. Aided by her Haste effect, and pouring everything into it, she hit it three times and topped off her attack with a snowball. I swear that those arrows had more energy effects than I had ever seen before. Dame Rebekah came up alongside it and hacked twice on the things on its chest while it was reacting to the arrows and the snowball to the face. I took the opportunity to get around behind it and do two overhand chops to the backs of its knees, dropping it to them while it bellowed in a rage. Jonathan finished it off by giving it a punch that knocked the ogre back fifteen feet. Unfortunately, fifteen feet meant that the ogre was far beyond the edge of the tower.

The ogre landed with a sickening thud on the battlements. If it wasn't for the fact that it was likely already dead, it would have broken its back with that landing. I looked at the others and said that this would likely be something that we couldn't avoid the notice of, so we should rush in to find any of the other high value targets that we could while we still have the blessing of surprise and the various blessings that we have right now. Everyone agreed and we rushed down the trap door.

I sheathed my machete to allow me to use the hand rail, as these stairs were not designed for fast movement. When we busted through the bottom of the stairs, there was a large storeroom that we just ran through. We got through the other side of the doors and saw a pair of ogres in the room. My pistol was in my hand before I even thought and the gun drew itself to the thing's head and fired a round. It burned into the thing's skull and it dropped before it could even speak. A pair of arrows from Faunra created a pair of antler's for the other ogre's skull, dropping it. Jonathan rushed across the room and opened up the door that was far away from us. He shook his head and shut to door as Dame Rebekah had moved ahead to the door to the rest of the keep.

We immediately saw that there was a door opposite this one on the side wall. Jon ran across the hallway and threw open the door, then launched it at something that was in there. I rushed right next to him and fired off at the ogress that had been hit with the door. Faunra popped up beside me and fired off several arrows into the ogress, dropping her. Dame Rebekah rushed past us and dodged under a wide swing from the other, metal mouthed ogre in the room. The Metal Mouthed Ogre took some swipes at Dame Rebekah that glanced off her armor. Jonathan moved out of the way into the room and fired off another blast at the thing. I opened up, noting that we needed to rush. I fired three bullets into the thing and dropped it.

Dame Rebekah did a visual sweep of the room and saw that there was a rat that she skewered with her sword. Faunra noticed that there wasn't anything of a specific danger left in the room, so she ran out of the room to head down the hallway. She thrust open the door to see an empty desecrated shrine to Erastil. We all followed and Jonathan shut the door behind us. We were counting down the time until our blessings failed. We rushed down the stairs and broke when we saw the different doors. Faunra rushed across, Dame Rebekah went to the left and I went to the closest door to the stairs.

There was an ogre with a ruined face. It was rearranging the body of dead priest. I popped off a round at it. Jonathan, who was coming down the stairs last after shutting all the doors, looked in and popped off a blast at it. The Ogre charged and swung at me. It glanced off my armor and I jumped back shooting one more time. The Ogre dropped, and Jonathan rushed back to the next door, to see that it was a mess hall that had been destroyed. He continued to go through to get to the kitchen, and then the pantry, which were all empty. Dame Rebekah and Faunra checked three rooms on the side of the hallway and they were all empty guest bedrooms.

We all posted up outside of the next room as the world slowed back down to normal. I asked everyone if they thought that we should continue as we are or if Faunra had another chance to speed us up again. Faunra recommended holding off, until we were certain that we needed it. We looked at the door before us and slammed it open. There were four ogres who were fighting over a horse head mask.

I took aim and fired at one of them twice, before running out of ammo. I cursed my lack of attention. Jonathan fired a piton off at one and dropped it. Faunra pulled a lot of the weight here and dropped two before Dame Rebekah ran up and hacked down the last one, her blade erupting in flames as she did. We left the room to go secure the last rooms of this level. We went to the next door, and I readied my rifle. I opened the door for everyone. The ogre in this room had been using the body of a Black Arrow as a pen to write on the walls. Disgusted, I fired a shot at the thing. I was certain that this should have dropped it, but it didn't.

Jonathan launched a dagger at the thing. It still didn't drop. Faunra fired two arrows at the thing and missed with the first one. Her second arrow seemed to hit decently well, but her telekinetically launched arrow even missed. The Ogre smiled and rushed me, hacking at me with the ogre hook he wielded. He twisted it at the last second to open up a gash on my arm. Dame Rebekah came up and hacked off his head. Dame Rebekah immediately used a wand on my wounds to heal what the ogre hook had done. There wasn't even a scar.

While we were dealing with this ogre, a pair of them wearing human sized armors came out of another room and rushed towards us. Faunra dropped the first one with two arrows and hit the other ogre with a telekinetically launched arrow. Dame Rebekah rushed out and charged the ogre, dropping it with one swing. We ensured that this level of the fort itself was cleared before we realized that we needed to make a choice. We could either go out to the rest of the fort, or we could ensure that there are no other monsters or victims in here.

Dame Rebekah said that she couldn't stomach it if we were to leave this building and there were people here who were killed by something when we could have stopped it. Faunra agreed and Jonathan just started running towards the last set of stairs left in the building. We all ran after him, and he waited for us at them. We took a second to collect our breath and Jonathan made a motion for us to be quiet. He indicated that he heard something or someone down below.

I mouthed the words asking if we should just head down, or if we should save our spells to deal with the Ogres. Faunra just cast her Haste spell on us. Dame Rebekah took the opportunity to bless us again. I tried to psyche myself up for anything, put my rifle away, and swapped out the magazine in my pistol. Jonathan did his Saiyan impression again, and we all rushed down on the silent count of three.

Dame Rebekah opened up the door and we were confronted by a scene that looked like it belonged in the Shucked Oyster back in Magnimar. There were silks and pillows everywhere and an obviously evil woman standing in the middle of it. She gave us an apprising look and told us that Mokmurian would love to meet us, and that we could stop this lunacy and give in to the greed and join her masters. Jonathan scowled and said that the only master he served was vengeance. Pity, the woman proclaimed, that we would now have to die, as she gave up her human form to become a serpent tailed woman, much the same as Xanesha.

That caused us all to be a bit panicky. I think that we all remembered just how bad that combat went. We might have gone a bit overboard and all out. Also, we might have just jumped the gun because of the Haste effect that amped up our actions. She didn't last long enough to react. Faunra launched a bevy of the multi-energy arrows at the snake woman. The first arrow missed and struck some of the cushions, setting them ablaze. She hit with her next two arrows, causing some energy damage along with the arrows.

Jonathan went HAM on the lamia, charging up his Cestus to be even further empowered and striking at her repeatedly. He hit her with two body blows before striking her hard in an uppercut. I followed suit with my pistol, firing off three rounds. She might have already been dead from the uppercut, but I didn't have time to spare the thought to risk it. The three rounds punctured her torso and she dropped down, twitching before stopping entirely. Dame Rebekah used her create water power to put the fire out.

We rushed through and saw that there a few prisoners in the cages. Dame Rebekah gave them a pass over with her eyes and noted that they were all stable. I asked if they would last until we cleared the rest of the fort. Dame Rebekah channeled energy to heal the various prisoners to ensure that they would be okay, and she looked at me and said that they would now. We rushed out of the cell area and up to the base level of the fort. We left out of the main door after Dame Rebekah ran into it full force.

We looked outside and noticed that there were four ogres looking at the burning building. I took a pair of shots at one of the heavier armed ogres. Jonathan launched a rock at the same one and Faunra launched an arrow at it, dropping it before moving on to another of the well defended armors. Dame Rebekah rushed out the door and charged the one that Faunra had peppered with arrows and a snowball. For her efforts, all of the ogres surrounded her and took swipes. One managed to hit and I decided to take shots at the ones around her, dropping both of the ones that I took aim at. Jonathan fired off a blast of electricity at the one that Dame Rebekah charged.

Faunra wheeled around and fired off at a group of four ogres, and dropped two of the weaker ones. I went to fire off my pistol and it clicked, telling me that I had lost count again. I sheathed my pistol and pulled out the machete. Jonathan launched a blast at the last weak one and dropped it. Dame Rebekah stepped forward to act as a wall against the ogres that were charging at us. Faunra launched a bunch of arrows at remaining ogre. It looked fairly wounded and I decided to try a spell. I focused on making the ground in front of it slick. The ogre reached the slick spot just as Jonathan hit it with a blast. I fell and slid towards Dame Rebekah, who finished it off with a single slice. Another ogre noticed that we were in the courtyard and rushed towards us. It was finished off by a flurry of arrows and Jonathan's blast before I could even swap to the rifle.

We took some looks around the fort and it looked like everything of danger was eliminated, so we started working on clearing out the fort of the deceased vermin that was in it. We took care to try to treat the bodies of the deceased Black Arrows with a bit more respect than the vermin that we removed. Jonathan worked to move the heavy bodies of the ogres onto the pyre that had become of the new barracks. Dame Rebekah went down into the cells to go free the Black Arrows that she had healed earlier. Faunra worked to repair the library and the map rooms. I reloaded my pistol magazines and started working on what needed to be done to repair damage that had been done to the fort.

After some time, Shalelu, Vale, and Jakardros came up to the gate when it was obvious that we had finished the job. Jakardros admitted that he expected us to have not gotten this far in less than three minutes. I smiled and said that Faunra, Dame Rebekah, and Jonathan all should share the lion's share of taking out this den. Jonathan noted that my pistol took out a fair share of the ogres too. Jakardros saw the pile of ogres burning on the pyre, and asked us if we had gotten all of them. The bedraggled Black Arrows from the cells told Jakardros that we had even slew the Lamia that was here.

Jakardros also noted the group of deceased Black Arrows that we had draped with the silk sheets from the Lamia's boudoir, trying to be respectful. Jakardros asked if we knew that they had a crypt for fallen brethren. I noted that I did not, but that we would relocate all of the remains so that they would not need to see the handiwork of the fiends. Jakardros came up and shook my hand, noting that I personally had exceeded his expectations. Then he went to go help out his recovered brothers.

Dame Rebekah came up and whispered to me that I had indeed contributed to the retaking the fort and that I should not forget that. I thanked her and noted that at least the Armor seemed to hold up. Dame Rebekah smiled and noted that it was at least as strong as full plate, at much less weight. I thanked her and noted that I just knew how to make the item. Dame Rebekah shushed me and noted that smiths today didn't create the way to make the steel that they use to great works that they do now. I thanked her for her kind words and she noted that we should put the remains in the crypt.

Faunra, David, Dame Rebekah, and myself all decided to pursue taking the remains of the Black Arrows to the crypt so that the remaining Black Arrows can deal with starting to get the fort back together. We formed a procession and Jonathan levitated the bodies between the four of us. We went to the secret door that Vale indicated was the shortcut to the crypt. As we arrived, a funeral procession for the desecrated dead, an inhuman entity glided out of the wall between Jonathan and Faunra. Faunra pulled out two of her special arrows and plinked them into the incorporeal spectre that popped out of the wall.

The spectre rushed over to Faunra and grazed her skin with its touch. Jonathan launched an enhanced lightning bolt that ripped the essence of the evil undead to shreds. Dame Rebekah rushed over and tried to check out Faunra's wound. Dame Rebekah tried to heal Faunra's wound, but a set of black scars remained. Dame Rebekah told us that the wounds of spectre would last for at least a day, and might be permanent, until we get them healed at Magnimar. Faunra said that we could get there when we were done with all of this.

We finished off with putting the bodies to rest. We came back up and reported to Jakardros what had happened. He accepted our report and noted that we should wait until tomorrow to head on, because Faunra's wounds should have a chance to heal first. Dame Rebekah agreed, and we spent the rest of the day getting the fort cleaned cubic feet at a time. I think that there is another spell tickling in my brain that wants to get out.
