Chapter 422
Implants
John Henry informed John's team who was close enough to respond and would be able to coordinate and set up an ambush if necessary.
John received word specifically that Cameron was on the way.
"Cameron is coming." John said.
A sense of relief flowed over everyone. Having Cameron with them in a combat situation was always a good thing.
"Steve and Ed are responding too." John said.
They'd all heard the same information through their coms but John felt better saying it.
John figured at some point Cameron would reprimand him for being out in the first place. That would wait for now. The current threat was real and needed to be dealt with. That was what mattered. That was all that mattered now.
Cameron was armored up now as Cammy drove. They'd switched places without stopping. The SUV barely slowed as they'd done the switch.
Cameron glanced at Savannah. She was a little worried about Savannah. It wasn't about her ability either. It was about the last few months or so.
"I don't need to remind you but I still have to say it anyway." Cameron said.
Savannah felt she was a little out of shape. She'd neglected her PT the last few months. She did pick it up a little the last couple of weeks 'in some future'. Cameron always limited her time outside and exposure to the elements in the future.
"I know, I know." Savannah said. "Don't take any chances, stay low, seek cover and let the Metal go in first."
Cammy was concerned as well. Savannah didn't 'look' herself in more ways than one. She was still upset Cameron left her in that future for so long.
"You've been out of 'training' for awhile." Cammy said as she looked back at Savannah. "I'm worried about you too."
Savannah noted Cammy's concern. It made her reevaluate her current ability. Maybe she was worse off than she'd thought. Cammy seemed to base her opinion on her appearance. Maybe she'd put on more weight than she thought. Her clothes did seen a little tight. She felt confident in her present company.
"With you two here with me, I would face the Devil." Savannah said. "In fact with Cameron I did and we won."
Cameron knew that battle was mostly over at Skynet Central before they'd arrived. Still without them there when they were it may not have ended as well for the Duplicate girls and Mrs. Weaver. The trump card was her deactivating the doomsday bomb. She was sure Skynet tried to set it off when she blew the door off of the clean room.
"We were very fortunate." Cameron said. "Duplicate Cameron and her team already took care of the heavy lifting. We were there for the 'dessert'."
The talk of the future raised a 'sore spot' with Savannah. She didn't know if she would ever see her 'mother' again. She'd left that future with her 'mother' holding her daughter. The tears welled in her eyes. She needed to focus.
"Do you think my mother will return?" Savannah asked.
That was a concern for all of them. It most likely would be a negative experience. There was bound to be a power struggle. Mrs. Weaver wouldn't be the commanding General in the present. That spot belonged to John and the entire Resistance would back him over Mrs. Weaver.
Cameron was sure they weren't done with Mrs. Weaver by a long shot. With a working TDE Mrs. Weaver could pop up at any point in time. The power source for the TDE was only a matter of time in that future. Time was irrelevant with a TDE.
"Yes. It seems most likely at some point. I don't know when that will be." Cameron said. "I'll have to deal with her here and in my future as well. Only Duplicate Vanna and Hope are keeping her there for now."
Savannah regained her composure. She couldn't second guess herself. Duplicate Vanna needed help and she'd helped her. They were the same person after all. As to her future, she wondered how things would play out.
"Will she try to take me?" Savannah asked.
Cameron felt a glitch impulse. She suppressed it. This issue was bound to cause a confrontation.
"Yes." Cameron said. "I'm not going to let her."
Cammy was still upset with Cameron but she was firmly by her side on this issue. Nobody was going to take Savannah away from her again. She smiled at Savannah and glared at Cameron.
"I won't allow that either." Cammy said. "You can take that to the bank."
Savannah noted the 'friction' between Cammy and Cameron. That would resolve itself over time. They would always come together for her.
She knew Cameron, and Cammy by extension, would both do everything possible to protect her. She didn't fear her 'mother' but she did want to stay in this timeline where she was at now. She knew her future and her part in the 'Natural Order'. She wanted that more than ever now.
The hardest thing she'd ever needed to do was leave her baby behind. She needed to leave Hope behind. The significance of the wording wasn't lost on her. She knew she was going to need to do the same thing again. She really wondered if she would be able to. Maybe if from the start she set that as the goal it would be 'easier'. She really didn't know. Her 'instinct' and hormones both called to her to 'protect' her young. She was no different than any other animal in that regard.
Savannah felt very somber right now. She decided to try to lighten the mood. Maybe she could get everyone in a more cheerful mood. She certainly needed that for herself. Even though she was 'joking', she wasn't.
"You know, if you two ever want to 'switch' it's OK with me." Savannah said.
Cammy wanted to see if maybe 'something' happened 'in some future'. She was away from Savannah for ten months. She doubted Savannah polished her pearl on her own for that time period. She didn't want to ask Savannah outright but hoped Savannah would tell her over time what 'happened'.
"I'm in." Cammy said as she looked at Cameron.
Cameron looked at Cammy. She knew Cammy was 'fishing'. She decided to stick with Savannah's question.
"You would know." Cameron said. "You always know, Savannah."
Savannah really wanted to be with Cameron. Maybe without the stress of the future she could be. 'In some future', Cameron was concerned above all else with her safety and well being. It didn't hurt to ho…. - wish. She'd almost thought – Hope. That was the wrong word to use for anything going forward.
"Nobody else would know…." Savannah said. "Try and fool me…."
Cameron knew that would be the challenge. The ultimate infiltration mission would be to see if she could fool Savannah…. Cammy snapped her back to attention.
"There goes John." Cammy said.
They watched from a side street and saw the tail go by several cars behind them. They'd arrived earlier and decided to wait for John's team to pass by. John Henry directed everyone where to go.
Cammy moved out a few cars behind the tail. The hunter was now the hunted. They didn't seem to know the tables changed in an instant. There was most likely no Terminator in the car that tailed John.
"No Metal." Cameron said.
"Yet…." Savannah added.
They all knew that could change in an instant. They kept watch around them so they didn't become the hunted.
Moments ago:
John Henry directed John's team where to go.
Bob spotted Cameron's team right where it was supposed to be. It was.
"There's Cameron." Bob said.
John quickly turned his head. He spotted the SUV.
"I see her." John said.
John Henry moved the drone into attack position. The Grays were covered three times over.
"Steve and Ed are in position up ahead. The drone is tracking and locked on the target." John Henry said. "We're in total control."
John wasn't sure there was such a thing. Things could fall apart fast.
"Are you sure that there's nothing else?" John asked. "Are there any other vehicles?"
John Henry cut off their communications once they'd set things into motion.
"No. I've jammed all communications but ours in the area." John Henry said. "We're in control."
John's team headed for a remote undeveloped street. It would most likely be tract homes one day. That was the way the surrounding area always expanded with time. Now it was time for action.
John was always wary of a sucker play on them. They were usually the ones to deliver one. He still worried about unknown variables. He laid out their plan. It seemed like a good one. Their drone was there to back them up as well.
"Keep an eye out for any HK drones." John said. "We'll drive past Steve and Ed and stop. That will block the path of the vehicle trailing us. Their path forward won't exist. We'll use the SUV for cover. That should put them even with Steve and Ed. Cameron will be the blocking force behind them."
John Henry wanted John's them to know that Cameron wasn't alone. He didn't want any 'friendly fire' incidents.
"Cammy and Savannah are with her." John Henry said.
Cameron didn't want John to know who was with her yet. She still needed to 'hide' Savannah from wandering eyes. The 'cat was out of the bag' now.
"We're armored up." Cameron came across the com. "I hope you are as well."
Cameron was thankful for the body armor. She wanted to keep her new sheath 'component' undamaged. She was very glad that her right breast was back to 'normal' now. Its slightly smaller size before bothered her incessantly. She didn't like being less than she was supposed to be. Only a Terminator could tell the 'difference' it was so minute.
She was glad that she was able to get new sheath components for Ginger before she left. Ginger looked so happy afterwards and Sandy thanked her as well. She liked when everyone was happy. That sacrifice from Ginger would never be forgotten.
Cameron saw the less than full size nipple-less breast Ginger was left with. It was worse than what Ginger told her. It was not just a breast without a nipple. It was rumpled as well. When they were done with the repairs Ginger was back to 'normal' with two plump breasts and two very pink nipples. She looked perfect again.
She knew her thoughts were drifting. She was worried about a lot of things. John being out was the major one. The events from the recent past 'in some future' weighed on her. Savannah was her immediate concern.
Cammy wanted Savannah protected as well.
"Savannah, when we stop I want you stay behind the SUV." Cammy said. "Cameron and I will engage the targets if necessary. Steve and Ed should have the situation neutralized before we even stop."
Savannah would do her part. Cammy and Cameron could concentrate on what was in front of them. The rear needed to be watched as well.
"I'll watch our six." Savannah said.
Savannah knew Cameron and Cammy didn't what John to see her and her current condition. It would start a lot of questions and unnecessary heat for Cameron. She looked down at her breasts. She wished she was smaller again. She always wanted to be 'bigger' growing up and now she wished just for the opposite. It was ironic.
It was time for action. Everyone was in place.
Bob's SUV passed Steve's team. Three seconds later he spun the SUV sideways. Jim and him exited out the side that faced the car that tailed them. They made themselves the targets. Derek and John came out on the opposite side of the SUV and used it for cover.
The Gray's car slammed on their brakes with the sudden change. They could either fight or run.
Cammy closed up right in back of the Gray's car and spun sideways to block their retreat. Their option to run was gone.
Cammy and Cameron came out on the side that faced the Gray's car. Savannah came out on the backside of the SUV and used it for cover. She watched the rear.
Ed and Steve were directly next to the car that was stopped. It all worked out as planned so far.
The two men in the tail car took in everything that just happened. It was all a surprise. They saw armed people in front, in back and alongside of them. They raised their hands. Steve and Ed pulled them from the car. Cammy stayed with Savannah and Jim stayed with Derek and John.
Cameron and Bob moved up. They carefully searched the car.
Steve and Ed searched the men.
"They appear unarmed. I'm checking their phones." Steve said.
Bob and Cameron finished the search of the interior of the car.
"There's nothing in the car." Bob said.
Cameron moved to the rear of the car. Bob pushed the trunk release.
"There's nothing in the trunk either." Cameron added.
Cameron went and faced the two men.
"Talk or die where you stand." Cameron said.
The men talked. They provided nothing of value.
"I'm going to terminate them." Bob said as he moved closer.
Both men cowered when Bob said that. He was an imposing figure and his 'accent' only made it more intimidating.
Savannah joined Cammy on the other side of the SUV when it was determined the men were unarmed.
John felt they held the upper hand, at least for now. He began to look around some. He looked back at Cameron's vehicle.
Savannah wasn't close to John but she could see that he looked at her closely.
John did focus on Savannah. Cameron made Savannah desirably to him. He'd looked at her a lot and thought about her a lot more. She looked 'different'. He knew she went to Australia but she looked paler and her figure looked fuller. It was hard to tell with her combat gear on but it looked like she might have breast implants now. Her breasts seemed noticeably larger. He noticed them and everything else about her as Savannah followed Cameron's 'guidance'.
Cameron's earlier efforts to 'push' Savannah on John now worked against her desire to have Savannah's current 'condition' remain undetected.
Cammy noticed what John currently concentrated on. It was Savannah. This wasn't supposed to happen.
"Go back to the other side of the SUV immediately." Cammy told Savannah. "John's looking at you closely. He's suspects something is 'different'."
Savannah hurried around the backside of the SUV.
"I wasn't thinking." Savannah said. "I'm sorry."
Cammy was worried.
"Get in." Cammy said.
Cameron hurried back to them. She was worried too. She'd spotted what Cammy spotted.
"Take off." Cameron said. "I'll go with one of them."
Savannah was worried she'd compromised Cameron.
Cammy and Savannah left.
John looked at the departing SUV.
Derek and Jim moved off when they saw Cameron approach. They figured she wanted to have a 'personal discussion' with John. They both knew she didn't like him out in the field. They didn't want to get drawn into that conversation. It was bound to be heated.
Cameron needed to refocus John and redirect his thought process. She knew how to do that. Her female sheath allowed her to have great influence over him. She came around the back of the SUV and gave John a kiss.
John was surprised. He'd expected a reprimand. He looked around Cameron at the departing SUV.
"Where are they going?" John asked Cameron.
Cameron thought fast. They hadn't worked on a 'cover story'.
"They're going shopping." Cameron said. "We were on our way there when we got the call to 'assist' you."
John still looked at the departing SUV.
Cameron moved closer to John and pushed her breasts into him. That got his attention.
"You'll have her soon enough…." Cameron whispered. "Look at me now instead."
John looked a little embarrassed. He did want Savannah but that was Cameron's fault for always pushing her on him.
"Cameron, don't start that now." John said.
Cameron wanted to change the subject.
"Where were you at when they picked you up?" Cameron asked.
John gave the departing SUV one last look. It was time to refocus on where they were.
"We checked on some possible Grays at one of the previous locations we'd hit. There was no one there so we headed off to check another." John said. "They must have seen us leave and started the tail. Maybe they were watching the place themselves. Maybe they were there to check on the fate of their compatriots."
Cameron thought that spelled Grays for sure.
"I'm going to terminate them." Cameron said and started to walk back.
John was a little concerned. He wasn't with Cameron most of the time she dealt with Grays.
"They're unarmed." John said.
Cameron looked back at John. This was out of her hands at this point. Their actions dictated their fate, not her.
"If they're Grays or working with Skynet they've already signed their own death warrants, not I." Cameron said.
Cameron walked back to Bob.
"Steve has the phone records." Ed said. "It will give us some leads."
Cameron reached out and lifted one Gray by the neck. He gasped and struggled. She snapped his neck. She dropped his lifeless form to the ground. She looked at the second Gray.
"Do you have anything else you would like to add?" Cameron asked.
The man confirmed he was a Gray with his next statement.
"You're that 'Metal Bitch' we've heard about." The man said. "You'll get nothing out of me."
In a swift motion Cameron chopped the sides of his legs with her hands. It broke both of his legs. He cried out in pain as he fell to his knees.
Cameron believed that everyone thought she was a Bitch, except Savannah.
"That seems to be the consensus." Cameron said.
She drove her knee into his face. It was crushed into pulp. Her hand held the back of his head while she'd done that to insure the entire front of his face was crushed.
"Load their bodies back in the car and send it off the side of the road down a cliff." Cameron said.
"Affirmative." Ed said.
Jim decided he'd ride back in the other vehicle so Cameron could ride with John.
"I'll ride with Steve." Jim said.
"Thanks." Cameron said.
Cameron walked away from the two dead Grays. It proved they were Grays when the one referred to her as a 'Metal Bitch'. She got in the back of the SUV with John. Bob and Derek were in the front. She wanted to keep John off guard.
"Now, where were we?" Cameron asked as she nuzzled John.
John swallowed hard. Cameron just terminated two people in cold blood sixty seconds ago. Now she was back hitting on him like nothing happened. It reminded John of what she really was, a killing machine. Sometimes he forgot….
There was no further talk of Savannah. Cameron smiled.
Cameron liked when she was in total control of a situation.
I Can Be Strong
Do not confuse love
As a form of weakness
Compassion and caring
Are not a sign meekness
Love is a true gift
Given from the heart within
Do not mistake its fruits
As some form of sin
Think before you break
A heart that beats for you
Is not everything cherished
In all that you say and do
Please do not hurt
The one at your side
Don't push me away
There is no need to chide
I am good enough
It is with you I belong
Give me fair chance
I can be strong
Nobody
