Whatever You Want

"So you're here full time now?"

Athrodar nodded his head and smiled at Liadrin and Vilandil who stood on the opposite side of his desk. "I am. The Prince has made me a member of the Convocation full time now, so looks like you will be addressing your concerns to me and I will decide if they're good concerns or not."

"That is something I am not looking forward to." Liadrin told him, getting a laugh from both Vilandil and Athrodar. "Hey, does Thal know you're here?"

"Unless you've told her, no she doesn't." Athrodar said, looking over to the nearby window. "How is she anyway?" He asked them, keeping his focus on the window.

"Outside of finding out you're with someone else now despite her admitting her feelings for you, she's fine." Liadrin told him, hearing Athrodar sigh and smiling a little at him. "It's not your fault you don't have the same feelings, but she will live and she will move on from this."

"So where is she anyway?" Vilandil asked, folding his arms across his chest. "I'm yet to meet this Magistrix of yours."

"Well if you wait a couple more minutes, she should be here." Athrodar told his best friend, sitting down at his desk and looking up at him. "But beware, she might be a bit... Flirtatious." He chuckled lightly when he saw Liadrin and Vilandil raise their eyebrows at him. "Trust me, it's a bit much at first, but she is a kind heart when you get to know her."

Liadrin looked over to the door of the of the office when it opened, laying eyes on Lana'thel who tilted her head at both her and Vilandil. "I see we have company." The Magistrix said, looking over to Athrodar who smiled at her. "Friends of yours?"

"Yes actually." Liadrin said, folding her arms and looking at the Magistrix, trying to hold her bias back when introducing herself to the elf who stole Athrodar from her best friend. "My name's Liadrin and this is Vilandil. The brother of the elf you stole him from."

"I thought Sylvanas' brother was dead?" Lana'thel asked, looking over to Vilandil who sighed.

"No... She means Thalina. Crimson red hair, about as tall as your shoulders." Vilandil began to smirk at the description of his sister. "Just don't make her feel like the smallest in the room, it's bad enough she knows she is, she doesn't need to be reminded."

"I'll... I'll keep that in mind." Lana'thel said, looking over to Athrodar who continued to smile at her, enjoying her awkward nature around his friends. "Are you busy?" She asked him, hearing Liadrin clear her throat beside her. "What?" The Magistrix asked, noticing the slight glare on her face.

"He is busy with his friends." Liadrin told her.

"Actually, I'm not that busy." Athrodar corrected Liadrin. "What do you need?" He asked Lana'thel who was trying to ignore the Paladin beside her.

"Well, seeing as you're joint second in charge of the Convocation and report only to Kael'thas, I have a problem I need you to look into." Lana'thel told him, glancing over to Vilandil who stepped forward and leaned on Athrodar's desk.

"You've got a higher rank in the Convocation than Lord Sunblade!?" He asked, growing in excitement when he began to plan things for the future. "How did he take it?"

"Not well." Lana'thel said, making Vilandil look over to her. "Which is why I'm here." She then said, making Athrodar frown at her. "I have word from my daughter that Lord Sunblade and his daughter-in-law, your grandmother, have been talking in private and it doesn't sound like it's civil."

"Do you think they're planning to take back their places on the Convocation?" Athrodar asked her, watching Lana'thel shrug back at him.

"People have done more for less." Liadrin said, looking over to Athrodar. "If you'd like, I could speak to my father. Seeing as he is joint second on the Convocation."

"Your father is Vandellor?" Lana'thel asked, raising an eyebrow her.

"He is. Which is why it's surprising this one shares the same rank as him." Liadrin told her, looking over to Athrodar.

"Thanks." Athrodar said, hearing Liadrin laugh. "Speaking of your father, we are actually going to meet him soon." He said, looking over to Lana'thel. "If you're still up for that?"

"Of course." Lana'thel replied, smiling at him. "He promised to give us some helpful tips before our first proper meeting as new members, so it couldn't hurt to see what he has to say."

"Wait, you're leaving now?" Liadrin asked when she saw Athrodar stand up. "I... I was hoping we could spend some time together. Just the three of us, four if you include her... Five if Thalina isn't busy."

"Sorry, Liadrin." Athrodar said, placing a hand on her arm. "I'll make it up to you. It's not like I can hide in the forests for a year or two now, so whenever I have some time off, probably soon, we can spend the day together."

"Okay..." Liadrin muttered, stepping forward and hugging him. "Just promise me you will tell me first, maybe we can ditch those pesky Dawnstriders."

"I'm standing right here." Vilandil said, letting out a long sigh when he heard them both laugh. "If all goes to plan with the paladin group we have going, perhaps I can enlist myself as your own personal guard."

"Are we allowed guards?" Athrodar asked, looking over to Lana'thel who shrugged her shoulders. "I suppose it couldn't hurt to bring it up when we speak to the High Priest." Athrodar muttered, looking over to Vilandil who grinned at him. "You know this means you'll have to take commands from me, protect me against anything and most likely have to fight my battles for me if I'm not carrying a weapon."

"I get that." Vilandil said, folding his arms and keeping the grin on his face. "And since when do you not carry weapons with you? Even after you left the Farstriders, you kept some sort of weapon on you."

"True..." He looked over to Lana'thel who was waiting for him by the door. "You will have to protect her too should she need it."

Lana'thel smiled at the Dawnstrider Paladin as well as just smiling at Athrodar's concern for her safety. "I wouldn't turn down a bodyguard should I have the need for one."

Vilandil nodded his head slowly, looking back to Athrodar. "That can be arranged." He glanced over to Lana'thel and began to smirk at her. "Would be a good opportunity to know more about the future Mrs Athrodar Sunblade."

"Okay, we're leaving." Athrodar said when he saw Lana'thel begin to feel awkward, lightly pushing her out the room and closing the door behind them. "Sorry about him." He said when they were alone, making Lana'thel laugh nervously though he didn't pick up on it. "Let's go see the High Priest."

"After you." She said, following him closely as they made their way towards Vandellor.

"Theron is fine with staying in the Ashenvale for another six months." Sylvanas said, looking over to Viraleth who nodded her head slowly and wrote on a piece of parchment. "Aerinan is keeping an eye on the Amani too, but he said nothing is really happening. Only a few of them going to a nearby port and sailing for a few days before coming back."

"Do we know why they do that?" Viraleth asked her, watching the General shake her head.

"Not a clue." Sylvanas told her. "But I have sent a runner to tell him to find out."

Viraleth watched her General look through several more reports she was handed for that day, frowning when she noticed she was avoiding a certain someone. "Are we going to talk about it at all?" She asked, making the General look over to her.

"I'd prefer it if we didn't." Sylvanas told her, letting out a long sigh when she saw Viraleth tilt her head at her. "Please don't make me talk about him."

"I'll try not to, but we have gone from talking about him every day for three decades to never talking about him the moment he returned home." Viraleth told her, watching Sylvanas look over to their children and smiling at the General. "You'll have to talk about him soon, Sylvanas. He will be visiting soon to see your son, you'll have to talk to him then."

"I just..." Sylvanas hugged herself and continued to watch her son play with Viraleth's daughter. "I don't like the Magistrix he is with. She knows of our past and she is doing everything in her power to rub it in my face that I can't be with him." She looked down at the ring Athrodar had left her and letting out a defeated sigh. "She's also very pretty and I hate that because there's nothing physically wrong with her to make me feel better about myself."

"Sounds like you're giving up on your master plan." Viraleth said, grinning when she saw the General look away from her. "Which is odd, because you never give up on anything when you set your mind to it."

"I think I just have to face the facts, Viraleth. I screwed up my chances of being with him and now he has found a very good replacement who he seems to love just as much as he loved me." Sylvanas looked over to her son again and began to smile when she saw he was getting along with Viraleth's daughter, both of whom were the same age. "He doesn't hate me though, so maybe there's something for the future."

"If it helps, we can lock him in a room with you and your son when he next visits." Viraleth suggested, making Sylvanas frown and tilt her head at her best friend.

"Have you been talking to Anya and Clea?" The General asked.

"What? No. I'm just saying, if you want to go with drastic measures, we can do that." Viraleth looked over to her daughter who walked over to her and handed her one of her toys. "Are you done playing?" She asked, watching the little elf nod and rub her eye. "Okay, up you come." She said, picking her up and sitting her daughter on her lap. "We'll go home soon so you can sleep, little one." She whispered to her, kissing the top of her daughter's head.

Sylvanas smiled when she saw the little elf yawn. "Ready to go to bed, Tali?" She asked Viraleth's daughter, watching her nod and rub her eyes some more. "I won't keep you much longer."

"It's fine." Viraleth told her. "I'm expecting her to fall asleep any minute now, so we can stay for another hour or two if she does fall asleep." She kissed the top of her daughter's head again, pressing her cheek against the same spot shortly after and cuddling the little elf whilst her attention was on the General sitting opposite her. "So, do we plan to win Athrodar over together when he visits, or are you going to let that Magistrix have her way with him?"

"Don't say it like that... It's bad enough I have seen them touching, kissing and being really happy with each other." Sylvanas picked up her son and sat him on her lap, smiling when he cuddled up to her. "Looks like this one is tired too." Her smile began to turn mischievous, looking over to Viraleth who caught her gaze and tilted her head at the General. "Imagine if they both marry, we would be sisters."

"I don't think that's how that works." Viraleth told her, watching Sylvanas' smile never leave her face as she thought about that future. "Fine..." Viraleth sighed, rolling her eyes and shaking her head. "I suppose we would be sisters."

"Yes we would." Sylvanas said with a beaming smile, kissing and stroking the top of her son's head. "I think I will talk to Athrodar when he comes to see his son. He knows I still love him and I know he has feelings for me, I just want him to know I will always be here for him should anything happen."

"I think you sleeping with him is proof enough of that." Viraleth muttered, grinning when she saw Sylvanas' slight glare. "What? You tell me everything, I am just here to give you advice."

"I appreciate that, but I would like to tell him personally instead of making him guess my feelings for him." Sylvanas kissed the top of her son's head once more and squeezed him lightly. "I think it's time to put you to bed, little one."

"I think it's time for us to return home and put this little one to bed too." Viraleth said, holding onto her daughter who fell asleep on her lap. "Luckily for us, we live opposite the Windrunner family, otherwise this would be a pain."

Sylvanas chuckled and nodded her head, holding onto her son's hand whilst she watched Viraleth begin to make her way towards the door. "I couldn't have my best friend live so far from us. Especially when she secretly loves visiting on a daily basis."

"It's not really a secret if you know that to be true." Viraleth told her, smiling at the General's light laughing. "I'll see you tomorrow, Sylv. Just don't do anything to upset Athrodar between here and now, even if it's next to impossible."

Sylvanas rolled her eyes and looked down at her son. "Say goodbye to auntie Viraleth and Tali."

"Bye." Talanas said, yawning and being picked up by his mother.

"Bye little one." Viraleth said to him, kissing him on the forehead when she made her way over to him, watching Sylvanas do the same to her daughter before making her way towards the door. "Okay, goodnight."

"Goodnight." Sylvanas said back, having her smile drop from her face the moment the door closed and letting out a small sigh. "Come on, little one. Let's get you to bed."

"When's papa coming?" Talanas asked, walking beside Sylvanas.

"Soon, hun. I promise. He should be here in the next couple of days, then you can spend time with him." Sylvanas picked up her son and put him in his bed, tucking him in and kissing him on the forehead once more. "I love you."

"I love you too, mama." He said quietly, quickly drifting off to sleep the moment his head hit the pillow.

"Did you get an update from Stormwind yet?" Kael'thas asked, inviting his two newest Convocation members to dinner at his home in Sunfury.

"Nothing significant." Athrodar said, taking a bite of his dinner and looking over to Lana'thel who had remained silent for most of the day ever since they left his office. "Are you okay?" He whispered to her, watching her smile and nod her head slightly. "Are you sure? You've been quiet ever since we left my office. You hardly spoke to Vandellor."

"I'm fine." She told him, reaching a hand over to him and squeezing his hand lightly. "I'm fine." She repeated, smiling warmly at him.

Kael'thas looked over to Lana'thel then over to Athrodar, noticing they were having their own conversation except it didn't look to be an enjoyable one when he saw the look of concern on Athrodar's face. "So what did you talk to Vandellor about?" He asked, hoping to change the subject of their conversation.

"Just some helpful tips for the future." Lana'thel said, looking over to the Prince and smiling at him. "What to look out for if you think someone is trying to take advantage of your rank, who to trust, distrust, who will always vote against certain things and who won't."

"Good." Kael'thas said with a smile. "You'll need to know who you can trust on the Convocation. No doubt you'll stay away from Dael'Thaelas or anyone who sides with him."

"It's probably for the best." Athrodar said, laughing lightly with the Prince.

Both Athrodar and Kael'thas continued to speak about the future and topics related to the Convocation for another twenty minutes before the Prince stood up and signaled over one of the royal servants who were placed under his service the moment the King became sick. "Excuse me." He said, bowing his head to his two guests. "I'll be five minutes."

Once they were alone, Athrodar looked over to Lana'thel who seemed to be stroking her thumb over the necklace she was wearing. "Are you sure you're okay?" He asked her, watching Lana'thel let go of the necklace and look over to him.

"Do you want us to get married?" Lana'thel asked him, making Athrodar frown at her. "Ever since your friend Vilandil spoke about me being the 'next Mrs Athrodar Sunblade', I have been thinking all day about it and realised you've never actually asked me." She looked down at her necklace again. "I don't even know if you see that as a possibility for us."

"We spoke about it the other day, did we not?" Athrodar asked, tilting his head at the Magistrix when she shook her head.

"You asked me why I never married and I told you why. You then asked if that would ever change and I said it could, but you never actually asked if you could see us marrying." Lana'thel let go of her necklace and looked Athrodar in the eyes. "So tell me, do you think we would ever get married? Because I need to know our future before I put all my eggs in one basket." She let out a small, nervous laugh when something crossed her mind. "I mean after all, it took you a month or two to figure out that you wanted to marry the Ranger-General. We've known each other for a good couple years now and the topic has never really come up."

"I never brought it up because you never seemed to bring it up either." Athrodar told her, reaching a hand over the table and squeezing her hand lightly. "If you want to talk about this, then we can. You just have to know that I will marry you if you feel the same way. If you don't, then we won't. But I do love you, Lana and I will be with you whether or not you want to marry me."

Lana'thel smiled and looked down at his hand that remained holding onto hers. "Damn you, Sunblade." She muttered, looking up at him and noticing his frown. "Always finding the right things to say to make me smile and love you just that little bit more than I did."

Athrodar watched Lana stand up and keep the smile on her face, making her way around the table and hugging him against her stomach as he remained sat down. "And I would marry you in a heartbeat if that's what you wanted." He whispered to her, feeling the Magistrix kiss the top of his head.

"Good." She whispered back to him. "Then when I am ready, I will tell you." She then told him. "Because right now I am not ready, but just knowing you would marry me if I was ready is all I need to know that you will respect my wishes no matter how long it takes or what I decide."

"You've been the first elf who hasn't slept with me because of my family name, or hurt me in any way." Athrodar told her, pulling the Magistrix down so she sat on his lap, glancing over to Kael'thas who smiled at them and retreated back into the room he just left to give them a few more minutes of privacy. "So like I have said, if you want to marry me, I won't even think twice about making it happen. If you don't want to marry me, but still want to be with me, I will happily be with you. And who knows, it might annoy Lord Sunblade that I don't marry anyone."

Lana'thel giggled and kissed Athrodar lightly. "And we wouldn't want to do anything that makes him happy now, would we?"

"No we wouldn't." Athrodar said with a light chuckle, placing his hand on her cheek and kissing the Magistrix again, only this time he kept her there for a lot longer than their first kiss. "Knowing that you want to anger Lord Sunblade as much as I do makes me so happy."

Lana'thel laughed again, cupping his face in her hands and kissing him once more. "He's an asshole that will never lay a finger on you or son, not whilst I am around. That I can promise."

"I think we should let the Prince return to his guests. He is being polite by waiting in the other room so we can be alone for a few minutes." He wrapped his arms around the Magistrix when she tried to stand up. "I didn't say you can leave, I just said we should let him return."

Lana'thel began to chuckle and nodded her head slowly. "Okay, okay. I see what you're doing. But mark my words, Sunblade. I'm not so easily embarrassed with public displays of affection, so I will go all the way if I have to win this little game you're playing."

"What game?" Athrodar asked innocently, smirking at the Magistrix who rolled her eyes and looked over to Kael'thas when he returned to them.

"This game." She whispered, taking hold of his hand and placing it under her tunic. "Your move, Sunblade." She muttered, smiling at the Prince when he sat down at the table, knowing he couldn't see where she had left Athrodar's hand.

"I won't keep you two for much longer." Kael'thas said, reaching for his wine. "I just needed you both to know that your positions on the Convocation are secure as long as I am alive. Lord Sunblade or anyone else who follows him won't be able to remove you from your positions."

"Good." Lana'thel said, dropping one hand under the table and reaching for Athrodar's ranger leggings whilst his hand began to travel to the hem of her leggings from under her tunic. "And we will work hard to keep the positions on merit, as well as help you with whatever plans you have in mind. Be it a better working relationship with the Kaldorei, Dalaran or this new place, Theramore."

"Good, thank you." Kael'thas replied with a smile of his own, not noticing what the two of them were doing under the table. "Have you spoken to the General yet?" He asked, looking at Athrodar who frowned at him.

Tilting his head at his Prince Athrodar continued to frown at him. "No, why?"

"Because you are coming with me tomorrow to meet her. I won't say why, not yet anyway, but I need you to be there with me." Kael'thas took a sip of his wine and said nothing more on the matter. "Now, I suppose I should let you both go before you do something in my dining room that will make it difficult for me to look at you both in the future." The Prince began to smirk when he saw them both look over to him in surprise. "Oh please, you're both not very subtle with what you're doing."

Lana'thel removed her hand from Athrodar's ranger leggings and looked away from Kael'thas, embarrassed. "Sorry."

"I get it, you're in that phase... But not at my dinner table, okay?." Kael'thas chuckled and shook his head at the two of them. "Go. I'll be visiting you sometime tomorrow afternoon, then we will talk to the General."

Athrodar nodded his head slowly, standing up when Lana'thel stood climbed off his lap. "Alright. I guess I'll be seeing you tomorrow then." He looked down at Lana'thel who stood in front of him, moving an arm around her and kissing her on the temple. "Let's go home."
