Day 126: Toilday the 22nd, Abadius, 4708

As I was dreaming, I realized something that might make this time a bit more tolerable. I can't keep anything I make in one of those rooms, and it is likely that anything of value that was in those rooms is actually transmogrified and will not maintain its shape or composition outside of the hall. The wires and some of the gilt proved that. BUT, I came up with using the material to make tools. Super-efficient ones. Ones that can get the job done and I could use the tools to make the items that I need. I decided that I would test that today.

I got up and the others were waiting for me. All three of them. Faunra looked me over and whispered something to Dame Rebekah. I respectfully tried not to listen. After a few seconds, Dame Rebekah sighed, and said that she would still not be able to test me with spells, and that she couldn't even detect my condition with her battle glasses. Faunra explained that the spells and effects around me had gotten much stronger, to the point that it was difficult for even her to penetrate the wards around me with her magic. I asked them how I could prove that I wasn't out to do them harm. Dame Rebekah offered me the opportunity to hold her blade.

I carefully took it from her and held it without issue for a minute, and Dame Rebekah asked if I could give it back to her. I flipped it around and handed it to her, pommel first. Dame Rebekah took it and said that she had gotten confirmation from a divination that she had done today that I was not evil, and that I was on her side, but she also got an answer from Iomedae that if she doubted, the fact that the sword would not hurt me would be proof. I nodded along, a bit confused, until Dame Rebekah told me that the Holy Enchantment on her sword would diminish those of evil intent and character.

I thanked her for it and told them that I really wasn't in the business of betraying those who were my friends. They looked at me a bit oddly but smiled all the same. Dame Rebekah handed her blade over to Faunra and asked what I had planned for the day. I noted that I was going to work in the Transmuter hall again, that I had another thing I wanted to experiment with, and that I might have found an exploit. Faunra looked at me with an inquisitive eye. I noted that it was associated with Greed, and that they wouldn't allow their riches to leave, but if we brought in the material, it could be changed by tools that we made in there, and then it might retain whatever changes were made while in there.

Faunra nodded and noted that she'd still need another three days to purify the weapons further. I thanked her for doing this, and she shrugged, saying that she had a lot of work to do, before heading back to her workshop. Jonathan said that he'd continue his sweeps of the corridors to make sure that there are no stragglers. Dame Rebekah added that she would be helping Faunra with enchantments as best she could, and then working on further purifying the halls of Necromancy, to prevent the foul taint from spreading.

I wished them all well and got kitted out with whatever raw materials I could to get down to business. I was amazing how much had been stacked up in the various rooms. I gathered what I needed, to set up the workshop. It took a few minutes to get everything made to be a workshop and moved it into a non-fabricating room, as those rooms tended to convert things back if they were left there. I didn't really need the bones or cloth so much, but much of what was left was gathered. I created a hydrogen gas distilling unit and turned two gallons of water to a LOT of water and oxygen. It took energy, but that was simple enough to get from another few gallons of water being converted to hydrogen gas and oxygen gas, and then being burned to be fuel cells.

There was a lot of that throughout the day, utilizing raw materials to create the quickest (screw inefficiency, we have magic here) processes to convert work raw materials into other forms. Melting down swords and the like to get into bars of steel, making a whole lot of focusing lenses for lasers for fast shaping, basically creating a three dimensional CNC being run by the power generated from the hydrogen gas, while the oxygen works to amplify the work done. Welding gear, power tools, everything was coated with adamantine on the cutting surfaces.

Eventually, I came up with my first proof of concept. We melted and formed copper coil from one of the copper coins that this world uses. I cooled it off in a cooled nitrogen stream, and took it out of the halls briefly. It did not change back! I rushed back to the area I was working and got to work on the next part. I crushed quartz up, melted it, and cast it into shapes that I needed. I now had the bases for chips. Using the unseen crafters, I started getting chips made for the present that I would be able to give to Savah, if I could figure out how to get the programming to transfer anyway.

It was kind of tedious but after eight hours, I was most of the way there. I left the craftsmen working on disassembling more materials and getting the metals that I had into the proper raw materials. It would be a lot longer before I could get an actual cellphone made, but a radio, on the band that we already had, that wasn't as difficult. I got one worked up in about eight hours, and it functioned well enough to act as a transmitter and receiver with ten channels with one main that will go out over all of the radios no matter what channel they are on. They'll work good enough for the Sandpoint Guard.

I might be able to bust out two in a day if I don't have to make the materials up in advance, and don't have to reconfigure the machines. I left the crafters breaking down the raw materials. It would take them a fairly decent amount of time to do so, and they were to take any raw materials outside of the hall and bring back whatever was still usable. The final set of unseen crafters were charged with reclamation from all of the halls aside from the halls of Evocation. Glass from the Halls of Illusion, Ceramic from the halls of Necromancy, and water from the Halls of Conjuration. The material in the Halls of Enchantment turn to dust almost always, including that canopy that I really wanted.

I figured that after sixteen hours, they should have enough raw materials for me to work fairly fast without having to find more. I got my gear and the radio and took it back to the Halls of Evocation. Dame Rebekah and Jonathan were there. I asked them if they wanted to participate in an experiment. Dame Rebekah shrugged but Jonathan agreed. I asked him to take the new radio and go around the corner. He did and I called him over it.

Jonathan responded back through it, and I was extremely glad that it worked. I had him come back and he shrugged, saying the he had seen the radios work before. I told him that this was a new radio, and that I had made it in the Halls of Transmutation. Jonathan didn't seem to get it but Faunra did, who was coming out of the tower her workshop had been placed in. She asked me how I had gotten something that had been transmuted out of the Halls of Greed quickly.

I told her that I brought in the raw materials, and use the room to make the tools to make the items, rather than transmute the materials to the finished items themselves. I smiled and told Faunra that I was even more certain that Sandpoint needed one of these, since it made the work even safer, and it could honestly be used as a child's creation space the same as a scientific space. Faunra said that she would try to see a way to get the town one. Faunra asked if my workshop would persist after we left. I told her that we could drag everything out at the end and have it revert to its base components. Faunra nodded.

We got up to date on everything that Faunra was getting done for the future Runeforged Weapons, including making sure that every enchantment on them was up to the best that she could do. She was also working on getting as much of our other equipment as upgraded as she could. She had set out what we were going to need for each of the components from the various halls, after I had explained what I had found in the journals. I was a bit embarrassed that both Faunra's and mine were the same, and included some of the Succubus' toys, along with an equal amount of shattered mirror. Jonathan's gloves had a bottle of the wine from the halls of Necromancy and an amount of ashes next to them, and Dame Rebekah's longsword had some of the mirror shards with some of the ashes.

Faunra said that one of the four weapons were now ready, but that it would be better to do them all at the same time. Jonathan said that he had made some good strides in ensuring that there were no further incursions, and Dame Rebekah said that she had gotten rid of a lot of the negative energy from the Halls of Necromancy. Apparently the unseen crafters in the former halls of Abjuration were still working away on making the barracks.

We got in some talking time, getting some small talk in and determining that we were all still on the same page. I noted that it felt like we were suffering some psychic resonance from the halls that we were in. Faunra nodded and Dame Rebekah did as well. I noted that we were probably getting snippy by spending so much time in the Halls of Evocation, we were probably getting a bit wrath-y. Jonathan nodded and said that he could feel it through his new mark. I asked if they thought that we should spend more time in the other halls. Dame Rebekah said that it would be wise to try to get in some time with the other chambers, maybe even the realms that are related to the ones that our weapons were more associated with.

I agreed and said that I would spend more time in the Halls of Illusion and the Halls of Enchantment. Dame Rebekah said that she would spend more time going through the halls of Illusion as well, and the halls of Conjuration. Jonathan offered up that he would go through the halls of Necromancy, but that the halls of Abjuration were gone. I agreed and noted that we were going to end up spending another two days doing this and Faunra said that she'd make the effort of getting out of the Halls of Evocation, if only to do some more studying on the Runeforge pool.

We broke into smaller conversations and after, I tried a sending to Savah. It didn't work, but Dame Rebekah offered up getting an Archon to come to deliver the messages to our loved ones. I jumped at the chance and we waited while she summoned up a Lantern Archon. It gathered our messages and the tribute that was provided (it was more than happy to dispose of "evil" items for us) and deliver our messages. It even came back with some messages in reply after a few minutes. It was nice to get word back from home. Apparently they had fought off some kind of undead horde that was trying to get back to the barrows underneath Destrier Manor. Everyone was okay.

We took up our resting locations, as even though we didn't need to, it felt good to rest. I'm certain that the others found ways to spend their time. I was wondering if I needed to get the radios made now, or if I should just focus on the components, because then I can have the twins put everything together and we can get more bang for our buck here. Also, I think I'm kind of wasting some time that I could be spending working on other things, so I'm going to get a radio or two popped out tomorrow and then work on getting my other equipment up to snuff, like Faunra is.
