Day 129: Fireday the 25th, Abadius, 4708

I woke up early and immediately started getting breakfast prepared for Savah. She smiled as I brought her juice and a nice breakfast. She smiled as she tore into the breakfast in bed that I had gotten for her and asked what I was up to so early. I told her that I had to get the plane ready for today. She smiled and wished me luck, saying that she'd be getting her storerooms more aligned with the new goods and getting ready for the flight later today. I smiled and headed on to the hangar.

Before I got into the swing of things, I checked everything to make sure that it was right. I realized that I needed to get my mind straight before I did anymore. I sat down reflecting on everything and getting all of the knowledge and experimenting in the Fabrication Chambers. There was a LOT of advancement there, but the world wasn't ready for it. Not yet. I needed to prepare the people to understand. This world didn't need 3D Printers, CNC routers, or Laser shaping yet. It needed massive of printing presses, a distribution network, and a philosophy of knowledge sharing.

After an hour or so, I realized what all I needed to do. I got to work cleaning out the fuel cells of all of the contaminants and repaired what I could. The granite fuel cores were worn down a little, but I used the mending cantrip to correct that. I got the water purified through boiling and cooling cycles. We had access to enough purified water that we could completely flush the system. I put all new liquid in, cleaned the cooling coils, and got the "hot rods" reinstalled. I'd start creating hotplates for the chemical lab when I got a chance since I could create that effect now. I'm beginning to wonder if the things that I can replicate come from those spells or effect being used around me, but then again, I don't know if anyone actually used that "get clothed and/or armored quick" spell around me at any time.

All said and done, it was about an hour of work. I went into the chemical lab to check on Igor. He was working on getting another suit prepared. There was no one here to pick it up so I sent him a thought questioning for the recipient. He sent back that it was for the Mierani Elves. I thanked him for letting me know and asked him if he was running on a rotating schedule. Igor sent to me that he indeed was, that he was making a suit for a paladin or other approved warrior one day, one for the Mierani Elves the next day, and one for the city or Magnimar or Sandpoint the third day. The fourth day was reserved for working on personal projects. I commended him on following the schedule. He went back to work on the Elves' armor.

I walked over to the gun workshop where I felt that Veronica was working. She was there pounding away at making bullets for the firearms for the town. I thanked her for her diligence and asked her what her schedule was like. She sent to me that she would work one day on materials for the classrooms, one day on the ammunition, one day on components for the bikes, and she had the final day to work on whatever she wanted. I nodded and asked if the bikes were moving well. Veronica mentally shrugged a bit and noted that we still had a backlog. She was making Aesrick's next. I told her to make sure that she includes some nice wooden inlays in that one where she can. Veronica nodded and continued pumping out brass cartridges from her press.

I went to the electro/mechanical workshop and fiddled around for a bit. I knew that I needed to get my equipment better prepared for whatever the fight was going to do next, but I had a feeling that I needed to keep myself and my technology as hidden as I could. Then it hit me. I didn't need to advance technology as fast if I used a bit of magic to make up for it. I started fabricating the power plant that would provide all of the power for this facility. This could fly underneath the radar so to speak, because the technology would be "inferior" to the obvious magical ways to do what he was attempting.

After eight hours of working on this, I had gotten a fair distance, but I wasn't going to be getting much further than that today. There was adhesive that needed to set and components that needed to "cool". I went back down to the hanger and set the massive doors to roll back. I got everything loaded into the plane, and went to get my bike. Savah was there, and waiting. I went up to get my armor, and powered it up after a few seconds of fiddling. The armor opened up and I stepped into it. I still think that it would be cool to get the armor to walk along with me. I don't have enough actual technology in it to anchor any kind of computer artificial or even virtual intelligence in it.

I came downstairs armed and armored up. Savah looked back at me and rushed back to the house and upstairs to get her own gear on. When she came back down, she asked me why I was all geared up. I told her that you never knew what would happen, and that if we had to bail out of the plane, I would want us to be ready for anything. Savah said that she could understand that. We got our bikes and we walked them over and down the ramp to the plane.

By the time that we had loaded them in, Shayliss, Jonathan, and his Warriors of Wrath were waiting to get in to the passenger compartment and get going. I asked Jonathan if he'd mind terribly lifting up the plane and Savah told me that there was no need for that, and that everyone should get seated and belted up. We all did, and she called over the radio to Vaeren. He came out from the bike workshop and saw what needed to be done. He slid down a pole and walked over to pull a lever.

The wall in front of the plane slid back and a large ramp showed how we could accelerate up to speed and make it to the road to take off. I goosed up the speed to get us moving and got us through the tunnel without any issue. Once we cleared the tunnel and were on the road, I ramped up the speed dramatically and we took off. I did a wingover above Sandpoint and Savah announced over the microphone that we were departing Sandpoint and that our next destination was the Ashen Moor and that we would arrive in twelve minutes. I radioed ahead to Faunra that we were on our way.

We got to the agreed upon location, Faunra and Shalelu were both there with their bikes. We landed carefully and opened up the cargo hatch to allow the bikes to be backed into their stalls and the two moved to their seats. Faunra came up to the cockpit to talk but saw that Savah was there and nodded to her. When she went back to sit, Savah whispered, asking me what that was about. I told her that Faunra was probably thinking about apologizing for some things that were said in the Runeforge, but she didn't need to at all. Savah lifted an eye but said nothing. As we took off, she announced that we were heading to Destrier Manor, and that we would arrive in less than five minutes.

The spin around Destrier Manor was fairly quick and we touched down in the safest place that we could. I had hoped that Faunra had called Dame Rebekah, because I had forgot to. I had not been disappointed, as Dame Rebekah and Chelger were both there, waiting. We touched down and the passenger door/stairs went down and they climbed up. When they were seated, we took off. Savah asked me quick how long it would be and I told her about twenty minutes. Savah announced to everyone that we would be landing in Magnimar on the Irespan in twenty minutes.

We followed our ninety-plus mile an hour path into Magnimar and slowed down once we were starting our descent. We landed on the Irespan and immediately saw a contingent of Magnimar's Order of the Nail, with the Paralictor rushing there, weapons drawn. I started to stand up, but Dame Rebekah said that she would handle it. I got ready to take back off, as she got up and went to the passenger door. We waited as she talked to the Paralictor, and I asked Savah to check on everyone to make sure.

While we waited, Savah went and asked everyone how they were. I briefly thought about targeting with the Railgun but decided against it. It wouldn't do to make Dame Rebekah's task harder. After about five minutes, Dame Rebekah came back and the Order of the Nail's members stepped back. Dame Rebekah came to the cockpit and told us that it was against the rules to harvest or disturb the Irespan. I looked oddly at her for a minute and shrugged. She went on to explain that we didn't know, and would go outside the city to park. I shrugged again and asked where we should park. She shrugged and said that the only other rule was that we couldn't damage other property.

I smiled and thought for a minute and asked if Dame Rebekah thought that Ameiko would like a party deck. Savah smiled in the co-pilot seat and Dame Rebekah asked what the plan was. I told her that we could make a thirty-foot deck added on to the Sea-Cleft. Dame Rebekah shook her head, reminding me that we had been yelled at about modifying the Sea-Cleft when those spider things attacked. I sighed and Savah suggested that there would at least be enough room to land on her property. Dame Rebekah sighed, and we flew over and landed between the Villa and the cliff.

We all piled out and Ameiko of all people actually came out of the villa. She had apparently come to Magnimar to check the Villa out and just happened to be here. Everyone piled out and got the bikes and stuff unloaded while I powered down the engines. I drained the engine and got the heat rods contained before walking out in my armor. Ameiko was smiling while talking to everyone when she saw me walk down the cargo ramp. I added a bit of a thump to my footfalls from my spell that could create sounds.

Ameiko asked if we were planning on staying in the city long. Faunra told her that we had a lot of business to do, and we had to debrief the Pathfinder Society. Ameiko nodded, and said that it sounded like we had a busy day ahead of us and asked if we'd like company. Savah nodded and said that it would be fun. We got everything done up and the improved pull behind carts set up behind all of our bikes. Jonathan said that him and Shayliss would be heading out to look for a possible franchise location. Faunra and Shalelu said that they would head to a couple of the higher end shops in town to look for things that we might need. Savah said that she'd go with Chelger and Dame Rebekah to sell off the excess goods. Ameiko jumped on the back of Savah's bike and held on tight.

I looked at the remainder of us who were left. Me and the Warriors of Wrath. Jonathan ordered them to follow me. I looked at the eight of them and they looked at me. I shrugged and got on my bike. They looked at me a bit oddly, and I told them to follow me. I slowly started my bike and they tried to keep up. I stopped for a few seconds and waited for them all to catch up. I asked if they had the ability to summon steeds via spells. They shook their heads and I sighed. I took out the magical rod of extending that we had used so frequently. I told them not to resist the spell that I cast.

I caste haste on all of us. It wouldn't have much of an effect on me on my bike, but they would be able to go MUCH faster than they were. I could feel the amount of energy coming off of all of us, and I started to move forward. We were going at almost thirty miles an hour. We made our way through the streets and got to Heidmarch. They had kept up fairly well, with them only showing strain at the last bit of the more than three quarters of a mile run. Keeping that pace at for that length was impressive.

When we got there, the gate was opened up by Almya Gorangal. I had met her in the past, briefly, but she seemed less pissed, especially when she saw the squad of warriors behind me. I asked her if Sheila Heidmarch was available. She said that she was, and indicated the direction to the stall where I usually parked my bike. I got my bike parked and headed into the house. The eight warriors followed me. I asked them to be calm, and to follow my lead. The lead warrior told me that they had been briefed that they would be sent to be trained by, and train with, the Pathfinders to enhance their abilities and the abilities of the Pathfinders. I nodded and we went in.

I didn't increase the sound of my footfalls but with the wooden floors, it didn't matter much. We made our way to the study and the doors opened up to let us in. Sheila was there with her husband, and they looked to be ready to jump into combat if needed. I removed my helmet and smiled to the both of them. They relaxed a bit and I told them that we had come back from the Runeforge with information and former residents. Sheila looked over the assembled warriors and asked why I had brought them with me. I told her that they had been attached to one of the group through something that can only end in death, and that they were assigned by him to work with the Pathfinders to improve their own fighting skills and the fighting skills of the Pathfinders.

Sheila thought for a minute and then she said that she could offer them up as potential Pathfinders, but they would have to go to Absalom to train with the actual Master of the Sword. The warrior who had answered me earlier told Sheila that this had been expected and acceptable, and that they would travel with whomever she thought best to get there. Sheila had Canayven lead them to quarters. After the nine of them left, Sheila announced that since everyone else was gone, I could tell her what we had found.

I laid it out in the best detail I could, while preserving any moments that I felt the rest of the group would dislike being released. I did specify that the six halls remaining (I told her the history that I had learned about the halls of Abjuration) all had a resonant "sin" that was associated with the individual school of magic that the hall was dedicated to. I told her that I could provide them with enough information for each, but that they needed to have a good team available of people with different sets of skills and personalities. I told her how important it was to that people not spend too much time in a specific hall, but that the people in the Runeforge did not need to sleep or eat.

I added what specifications I could provide, including the time preservation effects of the Halls of Enchantment. Sheila indicated interest in that, and I told her that those who were placed in it would never be able to leave, as time catches up when they leave. Sheila was still interested, as those near the end of their life could go there and continue to work for the Pathfinders. I told her about how to get in, and how we had some documentation from the Runeforge that we would provide for them, but there were a lot of dangers there that we needed to destroy, so I didn't know how much would be left for them to investigate.

Sheila asked if she could review the books that I had and I told her that there was a fair amount of information that I had not digested yet, but that they were welcome to them. I brought out several books, ones that I had already copied into my tablet, and gave them to her. She balked a bit at the amount of information here, and indicated that these would more than pay for the upfront that we had gotten. I nodded and noted that there were other things, including spellbooks from ancient Thassilonian spellcasters, including a lich, and some statuary, if any of that was of interest. Sheila said that it was and I asked her to bring a wagon along with us.

Sheila sent for someone and locked the books up in her desk. I already had all the information in them, so I didn't see the harm. We left together and Sheila grabbed another of the Pathfinders who were at her Manor, a man from far away by the name of Joadric Heimurl. Sheila and Joadric went and got a wagon and I got my bike. Joadric seemed a bit hungover. I led them to Kaijitsu Manor and to the plane. Sheila was amazed at the plane and I heard Joadric mutter something about "Tech-nick". I stopped them both and confronted Joadric. He claimed to have been from the north of Numeria, and that a Pathfinder had recruited him from Ustalav, after he was dealing with a group of undead. He had apparently seen structures like my plane being held by a group called the "Technic League", and that they killed to maintain their technology.

I listened carefully and asked Sheila if the Pathfinders had any records of this Technic League. Sheila told me that she'd have to research it, as it was a place far away. I sputtered a bit and asked her to repeat the bit about being far away. She shrugged and said that it wasn't common for people to travel thousands of miles here. I looked at the plane and asked how fast they thought that it flew. Sheila shrugged and I told her that we had flown from Sandpoint to Rimeskull in hours, and that we can get from Sandpoint to Magnimar in less than an hour.

Sheila looked shocked and I escorted them both up into the plane. I showed them that I could carry nine other people without any issue at rates of speed that will bring the lands together. I told them that we could take week trips to Absalom without teleporting. We could get backup teams from one area to another in days, if not hours. I added that if we improved the people who could learn from this, we could get build up a network of hubs to get people from locations and give the Pathfinders a real actionable advantage against the Aspis Consortium.

Sheila looked bewildered. I had them both sit down in the seats and buckle up. I started up the engines and got to the cockpit. I sent Savah a radio message that I'd be taking the plane for a quick spin but that I'd be bringing it back soon. Savah wished me well, and I went through my preflight checklist and took off. I took them on a cruise around the city and they were both clutching their arm rests. Instead of landing back at Kaijitsu Manor, I lowered us down at Heidmarch manor, and helped unload all of the various things that we would be "donating" to the Pathfinder Society for their collections, and Sheila would get back to me on what we would get out of it. They thought about stopping here, but I noted that we needed to get her wagon and train.

We left Heidmarch Manor and I took another loop around the city, slightly expanding this time. I even goosed the speed up to our fast speed, but not the emergency speed. When we landed they both wanted to nearly kiss the ground. Joadric volunteered that none of the Technic League buildings could fly like that, and I noted that this was no building. I asked him what his general feeling for the Technic League was, and he told me that they are evil backstabbers. I nodded and thought to myself that I needed to add rocket launchers to the plane under each wing when we got home.

After they were ready to head out, I asked if it would be feasible to talk about another matter without me being obviously hostile about it. Sheila asked what it was about, and I told her that I purposefully wanted Pathfinders to teach at my school. She lifted an eyebrow, and I told her that I thought that seeking out knowledge for its own sake was good, and that those who might want to help others in this path would be a boon to the Society. Sheila asked what was in it for them to lose a valuable field agent. I told her that they didn't have to be field agents, that in between semesters it would be fine for them to go on other field operations, and that the Pathfinders could always try to recruit those who graduate from the courses at the school.

Sheila said that she'd offer this up to those above her and see what they think. I told her that I could understand that, but that I was looking to get this scheduled before I went on my next trip. Sheila said that she couldn't give me anything other than what she had and that she had to seek approval from her higher ups. I thanked her for that, and told her that I'd still be considering further missions for the Pathfinders. Sheila said that she would keep that in mind as well.

All in all, it was a fruitful day for me, as we got some good will from the Pathfinders and I got to show off my new toy, and I'm sure that the rest of the group had a good time in Magnimar as well. By the time that all of that was done, Faunra and Shalelu were back. Faunra was pissed that it was getting more and more difficult to get all of the enchanted items that she had wanted, but she did find a lot of things to work on and with to get our equipment better. I nodded and asked her how long it was going to take to get everything upgraded.

Faunra shook her head, saying that she was going to have to work on getting more assistants, and that it would take her several days to get everything done. I asked if there was anything that I could do to help. Faunra shook her head at first, but then asked if I was willing to try to help out with any enchantments. I told her that I didn't think that I had the right skills. Faunra told me that she had a LOT of the minor magical items that would be combined into further items, but she needed assistance with getting things lined up. I offered up the school house, since we had four wings, each wing could be assigned a different person's gear.

Faunra nodded and said that it might help. She noted that we would need another two dedicated wrights to assist with all of this. I asked if she was going to need more blood from me. Faunra told me that she did not, as she had a sufficient quantity of blood left from before in stasis. That was kind of spooky. I nodded and asked her when they would be ready. Faunra said that she had everything that she needed back at her Tower, and that it would be about two days then. I offered that we could get Igor and Veronica to make their siblings if it would make the process quicker. Faunra thought for a minute and said that it might just.

I pondered about how to get a sending back to the twins and realized that everyone who could get the message was here in Magnimar, so I figured that we could work on that tomorrow or something. Then I realized that I could just head back to Sandpoint quick and come back. I told Faunra that I'd do just that, and she noted that she'd keep that in mind. I headed back into the plane, and got it back into operating status. I got a radio call from Savah saying that I should hold up before taking off.

I decided to do some inspections on the plane while I was waiting, just to make sure that there would be no further problems. I noticed that the engines needed to be flushed again and I went through the process. There wasn't a really good way to keep this from happening, so I resolved to just include a filtration system. I wondered for a minute why it had not happened to the bikes and then went about starting on a preventative maintenance double check my bike. The engine was working under a LOT less strain, and there wasn't any real sign or indication of the degradation of the power source.

By the time I was done, Savah was at the edge of the passenger's stairs with six other people. Highly important people. Mother Bevaluu, Master Leis, Toth Bhreacher, Khonderian, Valanni, and the Lord-Mayor himself. I looked at Savah and she shrugged, saying that she had been approached by Master Leis when the group went down visit Mother Bevaluu about getting a chance to visit with us and see the plane. Mother Bevaluu wanted to see the mode of transportation as well when she found out. Toth Bhreacher was contacted by Master Leis and the Lord-Mayor, his bodyguard, and his assistant were being visited by Toth Bhreacher when Master Leis contacted him.

I asked her if they had all been briefed on the dangers. The Lord-Mayor blurted out the single word, Dangers and looked faint. Master Leis spoke up saying that he had seen that they would all be fine after the flight. Savah walked up the stairs and helped everyone else. Master Leis waited until the end to talk to me separately. I asked him what was wrong and he thought to speak for a minute, but stopped and said that he'd like to talk to me after the flight.

I went back to the pilot's chair and Savah was waiting there for me. I asked if she'd be in the co-pilot chair with me, and she declined, saying that she had offered that up to Mother Bevaluu, so she could experience it better. I nodded and Savah helped Mother Bevaluu get seated and strapped in. I asked Savah to radio when everyone was seated and buckled. Savah told me that she would do so, and I started my preflight checks. Mother Bevaluu asked me a couple of questions while I was doing so, and I answered them as best I could. When it came to questions about whether this vehicle could go to space, I told her that while this model was not currently prepared for that, but I could work with others to design one that would work for that, on commission.

Mother Bevaluu nodded and said that she would commune with her Goddess to see if another trip to space should be done. Savah announced to me that everyone was seated. I thanked her and told her to tell everyone to hold tight. Mother Bevaluu did out of reflex, and I gave the engines the thrust that was needed. We took off a little slower than earlier, likely due to the increased weight, and I opened up the throttle further.

We shot out like a bolt into the sky and flew to a much higher flight altitude. I realized that it would be really good to get a better landing area in the future, but maybe the Lord-Mayor can approve of using the Irespan as its intended purpose of a bridge after this flight. Or, I figured that we'd just make a hangar somewhere. I got us up to cruising speed and I announced that we were at speed. I asked Mother Bevaluu what she meant, and she told me that over a century ago, a ship was made in Isger that left the planet.

There wasn't much more that she could tell me about that, but that did make up my mind that I needed to learn more about this world. Mother Bevaluu noted that it would be interesting to have a fast mode of transportation, but half of a trip was the journey itself. I nodded, agreeing with her. Mother Bevaluu did contrast her statement, saying that there were times to try to get a place quicker, and this could help. I noted that I needed to train a group of people to fly this kind of vehicle, if she knew anyone who might want to. Mother Bevaluu said that she would pass it along her faithful.

I thanked her and asked if she wanted to go faster. Mother Bevaluu questioned faster, and I made the announcement that we'd be going to the next speed. We had circled the city a few times by then, and were now pointed at Sandpoint. I goosed us up to over one hundred and thirty miles an hour. Mother Bevaluu started to laugh. I announced over the speaker that we would be in Sandpoint in under twelve minutes. Mother Bevaluu looked shocked and amused.

For the next ten minutes, I piloted the plane while keeping an eye on the gauges for the engine. I slowed the speed down in the last minute of travel, and slowed to stop over the school. I chirped over the radio that we were landing in the hangar. Vaeren perked up and came rushing out. He activated the hangar opening gate and we lowered the rest of the way. I slowed the engines down and announced over the speaker that we had landed in Sandpoint, and that we would be taking off in an hour.

I got up out of my seat and helped Mother Bevaluu up. Mother Bevaluu smiled and I asked her if she wanted to visit Father Zantus. Mother Bevaluu smiled and noted that she would do so, and would be back in the requisite hour. I went to the passenger compartment and Savah was already helping everyone else up. Toth looked like he was most impressed with all of this. The Lord-Mayor looked a little queasy, but not really much the worse for wear. The rest of the people went from one extreme to the other.

I led everyone off of the plane and asked what everyone would like to do. The Lord-Mayor asked if he could be led to the Town hall and Savah volunteered to take them there. Valanni and Khonderian were both going to be heading with the Lord-Mayor, so that left Toth Bhreacher and Master Leis. Master Leis asked if there was a good place to have a quiet discussion. I led them to the school's Headmaster office and got them both chairs. Toth asked if I had made a suit of golem armor. I set the armor to disengage and it opened up and I walked out of it.

I told Toth that the armor wasn't enchanted as a golem, as I didn't want to subject any other sentient mind to the horrors of war without their permission. Toth thought for a minute and asked if he could investigate the armor. I told him that he could, but that there were a LOT of features that he should know about if he was going to try it out. Toth said that he'd take a look at it first, and try to see what he missed. Master Leis was waiting for Toth to get occupied with the item of his current interest to invoke a spell to allow us to communicate without being overheard.

Master Leis noted that since I come back from Jorgenfist, he could no longer get reliable information about him through divinatory methods. I nodded and told him that the group had noticed this as well. Master Leis noted that this kept me safer and I told him that there was good reason to believe that Special K was not aware of me, as he had always talked about there being three of the group. Master Leis nodded and I asked if there was some way for me to be detected as a golem. He asked why, and I told him that the going thought was that Special K would figure that a golem would be something easy and common for a wizard to make to get themselves a protector. Master Leis nodded and said that he'd check into it. That put me at a pause. He noticed this and reiterated that he really couldn't divine things about me anymore.

Toth broke away from his inspection and told me that there were so many magical enchantments interwoven into this that it would take days to get a real assessment. I nodded and told him that there were aspects to it that might only work for me, and those who knew what I knew, and that there were also aspects that might not be detectable as magic. Toth nodded and asked if the two of them could take a walk around the school. I sent a thought to both Veronica and Igor that we would be dropping by and they both sent back affirmation.

I left the armor in place and led the two powerful wizards around the school. There were some simple questions about capacity and lodging, and more in-depth questions about the individual fields of study. I told them how much smaller this school was than the schools back where I was from. Toth asked me how large the schools were where I was from. I told him that I graduated from a tiny school and it had the population of this school in a grade class. I told him that I'd whip up a curriculum when I got a chance, and I'd get it to him so he could read it.

When we got to the workshop that Igor was working in, the Chemistry workshop, Igor was still working on the suit for Meirani Elf that he had been working on earlier. He looked up to the three of us and I sent to him that I had a mission for him when he was finished with armor. Toth asked me if this was a Homunculi. I told him that Igor was, but that it was Faunra who had created him. Toth nodded and said that it wasn't a standard Homunculus. I told him that Faunra had called Igor and Veronica dedicated wrights, and that Faunra had gifted them to me after I finished the modification to the Lord-Mayor's Clockwork Golem.

Toth looked a bit sullen when I brought that up, and Master Leis said that maybe the two of them could get a course or two in after the school is started. I noted that I was looking for teachers to be taught the courses so that they can teach the first batch of students. Toth nodded and said that he'd consider asking his students to see if any were interested. Master Leis said that he'd do the same. I thanked them.

When we left the chemistry lab, Toth asked me if the Homunculi was working on the material that my armor was made of. I told him that Igor was indeed working on the material, and that it was still a secret. I added that if he wanted the secret, he was going to have to ask Ameiko and Savah, as they held the intellectual rights for it. Toth mouthed the words intellectual rights and Master Leis spoke up, asking if I was still working on improving communications between Sandpoint and Magnimar. I nodded, saying that the road was just the first portion of it, that I'd be designing a near instantaneous communication method.

We made our way into Veronica's workshop where she was churning out bullets. She looked up, and I sent her that it was okay, that they were just visiting. Veronica sent me back an assent and I talked with a bit with Master Leis and Toth, and discussed with them the types of people I was looking for to act as teachers. I noted that at least one was going to have to be skilled with a gun, and was going to have to train another person from the ground up to be able to work on engines and bikes. Master Leis noted that he'd lend his skills to the search if I liked. I told him that I would appreciate that.

I got a mental notification from Niddler that he was back! I told them that I needed to head out to the farm for a bit, and that they can accompany me if they liked. Toth and Master Leis both accompanied me to the farm and Niddler came flying out to see me. He slowed when he saw the others. Master Leis smiled to him, and Toth looked at him like he was disassembling him. Niddler came over and flew to me shoulder. He told me that he had gotten the livestock, and I asked him if he was interested in increasing his herd. Niddler smiled and said that he would. I noted that we needed to ensure that we could offset how much food was needed for the students, Niddler nodded and said that he'd look for a good range for more goats and chickens.

I returned my attention to Toth and he asked if this Homunculi was also non-standard. I told him that Niddler was, and explained that he was said to be an Expeditious Messenger. Toth nodded and said that he'd like to talk to Faunra. I told him that he would be free to whenever she was available. Master Leis asked what kinds of courses I was planning on running at the school. I told him that there would be a course available for Earth Sciences, Philosophy, Mathematics, Medicine, in the classrooms and Chemistry, Electricity, Kinetic Physics, and Mechanics. I noted that the workshops would be working classrooms and that the classrooms would be somewhat modular. I added that I needed to get the bookmaking workshop up and running to get all of the textbooks made.

Toth nodded and said that he could fabricate a bunch of books if I'd like. I thanked him but asked what he'd like in return. Toth shrugged and said that he'd just like consideration for classes and some thoughts towards an exchange for students. I told him that we'd be more than happy to teach any students that he sends us that follow the school's rules. Rules, Toth asked? I said that I'd write everything up for any prospective students, and would probably send out owls with acceptance letters or something similar. Master Leis asked why owls? I told him it was traditional to a fictional school, and with the small numbers, it seemed appropriate.

He looked at me a bit oddly, but I told him that one day I'd find a way to get the movie series for all of them to watch. Master Leis looked a bit confused, but pleasantly. I told him that we'd need to figure out who all was going to be accepted into the first class, and for that, we'd need to meet with Ilsoari, as his students were also authorized for the classes as well. Toth asked if Master Leis and he could go talk to him. I told him that I'd never stop someone from talking to others, but that he really shouldn't try to intimidate or browbeat Ilsoari into giving up his billets. Master Leis said that he'd make sure nothing happened of the sort, and he led Toth off.

I was free for a few minutes and decided to utilize my Wall of Stone spells to further reinforce the defensive wall. At his point, it was going to be several days to further reinforce the wall the whole length, and then I'd work on a "Danger Room" for the school. Maybe I can pay Faunra to enchant some kind of monster summoning thing to help for practical training. I guess I'm making this some kind of hodge-podge between Hogwarts and Xavier's School for the Gifted. David's Athenaeum of Knowledge and Kinetic Acceleration? That does have a nice ring to it.

I summoned up a group of unseen crafters with the intent of having them mine down and dig an appropriate tunnel to the hangar. It wouldn't do to have them have to walk outside of the halls. While they were getting to work, I went in to talk to Veronica and Igor. Niddler came with me. I sent a message to Veronica and Igor that there was something important that we needed to discuss. They agreed and we met up in the workshop that Igor was working in, as he was in an important part of the process.

I brought up Faunra's request, and my thought that they should have a say in it and that it was my thought that they could have a hand in designing their siblings. Veronica noted that this was not natural at all, and Igor asked what part they'd play in all of this. I told him that I had hoped that they would be willing to be work to create the bodies for their siblings. Igor said that he would and Veronica agreed.

Niddler offered up a couple of the concepts and names to the rest of us and I fleshed them out as I remembered them from the Iron Man 3 movie. Between the three of them, they decided that the best two were Tank and Gemini, from an aesthetic and design standpoint. They started the work ups on the designs immediately and I left them to the task. I went to check the plane to make sure it is ready for operation.

After a half an hour spent working on engines, three people came back to the hanger. It was Toth, Leis, and Ilsoari. I wiped my hands from the engine debris and walked over to them. Leis told me that they had all talked, and that they felt that there needed to be at least four people deciding who would get picked, and that they should each get ten student options. I nodded and said that this tracks, but that they would be responsible for finding the fourth person, and I'd like the option to approach each of them to select one from each, that I wouldn't do it every year, but that I'd like the option to pick four from my travels from time to time.

Ilsoari nodded and said that he could definitely accept that, Master Leis said that he could as well. Toth made as if to complain and I explained that if or when I made the choices, I would try to make them in groups of four, but that if I couldn't I would keep track and the groups that did get slotted would be exempted the next time. Toth nodded and asked who should be picked for the last person. I shrugged and said that it was really up to them.

They went on to go to the library and I went over the plane itself. After a few more minutes, Savah and the rest came back. Mother Bevaluu was there with them. I asked if everyone was ready. Lord-Mayor Grobaras said that he might like to tour the school. I shrugged and said that we can do that, or he can visit it when it is fully constructed and in session, so that the students can recognize him for his largess. Valanni smiled and slightly nodded. The Lord-Mayor looked to be considering it and then said that this was a great suggestion. I helped everyone back onto the ship, and Ilsoari went to visit Vaeren.

I set up the hangar's exit ramp and got everything situated. Mother Bevaluu was in the co-pilot seat. We ramped up and took off. We did a lap around Sandpoint and then headed back to Magnimar. It was a quick trip back and we didn't have any issues. Mother Bevaluu asked me bits about the plane and how it works, and I gave her some brief details, explaining that the technical details require me to provide more focus, since I needed to focus on the plane and the engines while we were travelling at the rapid pace.

We made it back to Magnimar and I had Savah ask the Lord-Mayor where we should land. Savah told me that the Lord-Mayor told her to have us land near the Pediment Building. I had her ask if it was okay to land on the Irespan to not impact travel and business in the Capital District. Savah said that the Lord-Mayor assented to that and I brought us down and landed at the foot of the Irespan.

I did my post-landing checks and announced to everyone that we had landed. I got up and helped Mother Bevaluu up from her seat. I went to the passenger cabin and Savah was already helping everyone up. I assisted others and asked Toth and Master Leis to keep me informed on their decisions. Master Leis noted that he'd try to keep us informed with a Sending spell. Toth said that he had an idea of someone who might want to be the final person. Master Leis noted that he wanted to talk further to Ilsoari, as he had some thoughts that might make everyone happier. I reiterated that we need to be fair to everyone, and Master Leis said that his idea was more beneficial to everyone, especially Ilsoari's students.

I shrugged and said that they should figure it out and keep me updated. Savah was helping the Lord-Mayor up and he asked me if there was any thought to having this vehicle able to travel to other cities. I told him that I was up to it, but that this vehicle was really too small, and that it would be better to have a dedicated runway for it. The Lord-Mayor told me to get a proposal set up and advance it to Valanni for review. I told him that I would get Savah's assistance and get it to them. Valanni held up and asked me why the city should have this form of transportation when it is getting a road network.

I thought for a few seconds and told him that a lot of traffic would be via the road, as this would be what the most convenient. The planes would be faster, but not able to carry cargo and would have different dangers. Valanni nodded and told me to go ahead and get him the proposal. I told him that I'd get it line itemed so that they can see exactly what was the cost. I asked him if we could get some written permission to park the plane here. Valanni gave us a writ with a signature, and I thanked him. I put the paper in the windshield of the plane, and we all headed out. I locked up the passenger stairs/door and waved goodbye to all of the groups who were walking off to their own businesses. Toth went to his building, not far away, Valanni, Khonderian, and the Lord-Mayor walked to the Pediment Building, and Master Leis and Mother Bevaluu both headed towards the Keystone District, talking about what they had experienced.

Savah smiled at me and I picked her up to carry her. She laughed and I walked in my enhanced armor, heading to Kaijitsu Manor. We were given a wide berth, as what looked like an escaped golem carrying another, smaller golem through the city was an odd enough occurrence that it rated caution. We got to the Manor and went in. Everyone was back by then, and Faunra welcomed us back. I noted to Faunra that Toth said that he would like to compare notes on Golems sometime.

Faunra nodded and noted that she was hoping that he'd want to talk sometime. Jonathan said that he had set up dinner and asked when we were planning on heading back. I told everyone that I had dropped off the notes from the Runeforge to the Pathfinder's Lodge and they were going to evaluate them and get back to us tomorrow morning. Ameiko smiled and noted that it meant that we'd be in Magnimar overnight. She continued that we were all due for a night out. Dame Rebekah agreed and asked what Ameiko had in mind.

Ameiko suggested that we head to the Rose and the Rake, an open air theater that tended to perform social satires and political commentaries. Ameiko asked if there had been anything similar to this back where I was from. I laughed and told them that where I was from, almost all of the entertainment was social satires or anti-political commentaries. Ameiko looked a bit confused but I continued with saying that we should still head there, as we had not been there yet. The rest of the group agreed and we got dressed in our fine clothes, leaving our armor and most of our weapons in the room. I conjured up a set of crafters to repair all of the gear and another set once we were outside to carry lanterns and tools to work on the grounds.

There were nine of us, it wouldn't do to try to have the bikes alone, so Dame Rebekah and Chelger got their steeds back from the stone token form. That allowed us to have six mounts, so only three of us had to double up. Jonathan chose to run alongside, so that left Ameiko and Shayliss to ride behind someone else. Shayliss sat behind me and Ameiko sat behind Savah. We rode down the main road of Magnimar with all of us heading there in style.

We found a place to store out mounts and bikes as we made our way into the Rose and the Rake to find some seats. Ameiko led us through the benches towards an area where some of the more affluently dressed people were. She stopped to talk to a well-dressed woman who was looking out over the group. Ameiko motioned us over and introduced us. The woman was Lady Annsa Shivarlu, and she a member of the Council of Ordellia, and the producer for this theater.

The Lady seemed a bit amused as we were all introduced. I thought that I picked up a bit of surprised amusement anyway. Ameiko asked if there was a good place to sit for the show, and Lady Annsa pointed to an area where there were other well-dressed people. Ameiko motioned for us to head over there, and said that she'd be right up there. We got there and the well-dressed people there welcomed us all. Apparently it was a group of different agents from different countries that were stationed at the Embassy Building nearby.

We received quick introductions: A slight halfling woman who was the delegate from Absalom named only Cana, another woman, this time human, that was representative from Andoran named Silia Rutio. A man from the nation of Taldor named Giddens Manilanus (stifled a laugh from that) was the next person who was introduced to us. The group of three of them seemed to be good natured or at the very least not evil. I learned from them that there were other nations represented in the Embassy, but they had not shown up tonight due to the show being about slavery. I did a spit-take at that and Silia seemed amused, asking why I had an aversion to slavery. I told her that where I was from had a war to end slavery in it and succeeded in abolishing it over one hundred and forty-five years ago.

Silia seemed amused by that and noted that she would need to compare notes with me at some time. Savah nestled up closer to me as we talked about emancipation, away from here anyway. I asked where the rest of the ambassadors were from, and Cana filled me in. There was Ceion Thrune, a woman who claimed to be related to the ruling family of her nation, Cheliax. There was a Vudrani woman named Lakhi Khal, from the nation of Katapesh, a place that primarily sold a drug called Pesh and slaves. Slaves. There was a man who represented Osirion, named Retta, a necromancer who was said to ply his trade on those that could get him the corpses that he required.

The ambassador from Qadira, another man, by the name of Korshin Sader, who's country had been in a kind of cold war against the nation of Taldor for centuries. It wasn't said that Korshin was directly related, but it was noted that Qadira was just itching to invade Taldor again. The last nation representative was Merril Angor, a man from Ustalav. Ustalav didn't per say support slavery, there is a large amount of evil undead that reside in the nation and those from Ustalav don't really associate with foreigners, and he didn't go to these events.

I asked if there would be a chance to talk about business tomorrow. Giddens laughed and asked what I thought that we were doing. I looked to Savah and she nodded slightly. I told them that we were going to be providing a proposal for a method of faster transportation between cities. Cana said that she might be greatly interested in that, and I noted that it really works best when multiple cities or nations join up on it, because each one adds more options for travel. I noted that with just one plane, it really decreases the efficiency. The three of them each noted that they'd like to keep abreast of this. I noted that if it increased trade with Magnimar, it shouldn't be disliked by the Lord-Mayor.

We watched the rest of the show and I noted that it had a few similarities to Spartacus, but of course Spartacus didn't have magic or elves. We said our goodbyes and went back to our steeds. The ambassadors noted the bikes and Silia suggested that if we are open to it, we should check out Nirmathas, as they had similar values of freedom and liberty. I told them that I'd try to find a way to reach out, and Silia said that we could talk more tomorrow.

I thanked them and we all got set up to head out. We rode back to Kaijitsu Manor and everyone went to their individual rooms. Savah was a bit miffed, but I smoothed things over with the admission that I was only interested in talking to Silia because I wanted to improve Savah's business empire. Savah laughed and relaxed. It was a good day.
