Day 132: Moonday the 28th, Abadius, 4708
I woke up this morning to great news! The improved tools were done for the electrical lab and the chemistry lab as well. And Savah's armor was almost done being improved. I noted to them all that this was a great job that all four of them had done. I received thanks for that from all of them. I asked them to all work on making a launching system for the armor, as I was going to need to have some kind of grenade launcher to drop multiple kinds of damage and terrain modifications. They noted that they would work together to get this done quickly.
I got up and Savah was still asleep, and Bailey's metal form was at the foot of the bed. I looked around and got up to use the bathroom and get ready. When I was done, I used my prestidigitation powers and got myself dressed. Savah was still in bed, so I went to the library to think for a few moments. I got an inkling to throw some runes. The results that came back were that we'd be on our way to our next challenge in about a week. I had some confusion about some of it, just because I hadn't really seen the runes show up that way, but the way it read was that we would be so far up that we wouldn't be able to breath. Interesting little tidbit, but it makes sense if they were a society that liked the extremes, which everything said that they were.
I went back into the bedroom and Savah was just waking up. Savah told me that she was going to go visit Hannah today, just to check in. I nodded and asked if there was anything that she needed from me for this visit and she shook her head, smiling. She told me that I had a lot of crafting to do. I agreed with her and told her that her armor upgrades would be complete today, and that we'd be looking into some further modifications for my own armor.
I helped Savah get ready and she opined about how her clothes were not fitting right anymore. I told her that we could go to Rynshinn to get them tailored, or we can ask Faunra or Dame Rebekah if there are any spells or miracles that can do the same effect. Savah said that she would like to get new clothing from Rynshinn, if that was possible. I agreed and said that I could always summon up a set of unseen tailors, if that would work, but Savah said that she'd like Rynshinn's skill. I nodded and asked if she'd want me to go with her. Savah declined, saying that she'd be fine.
I shrugged and asked if she wanted to go to the communal breakfast. Savah agreed and we headed to the school's Dining Hall. Everyone was there and we got to eating. After some brief discussion, I grabbed the metamagic rods and we went downstairs. I finished off all of the side walls with being protected against incorporeal entities. That gave us five sides of protection for the room.
Dame Rebekah grabbed the other two and started making a five-foot ledge of invisible stone around the outside of the chamber. After three castings of the Wall of Stone spell (miracle), we had an invisible second floor, with a single entrance in the front corner. There was a five-foot wall in front of it to prevent people from just falling down. We added some color and warnings along the hole, and we agreed to put a set of stairs down there tomorrow when we finish off the training room.
We left the training room and locked the door behind us. Not one of us wanted to deal with some kid that was snooping and fell down. When we got upstairs, Dame Rebekah noted that she wanted to ask if there was a possibility of modifying her armor slightly similar to Savah's and mine, but different. Faunra indicated that she would like the same as well. I told them that I would be glad to work on them with whatever modifications that they would like. I cautioned them on what was needed for each, but that I would help to do whatever they needed.
They both agreed and I got set up in my lab to get Savah's Armor worked up. Dame Rebekah's armor was brought over immediately from where Faunra had updated the enchantments. It was fairly powerful in its own right already. I think I'm going to ask Faunra to get some kind of enchantment to get it to walk to where it is commanded, just as an added benefit. I set up a playlist on the speakers while all four of the dedicated wrights were there to assist. They broke off after a bit to work on other things, including bullets and such. The grenade launcher was already done, so I asked them to work on getting more ammunition built up.
After a solid work day, a lot of progress was made on the armor, and I figured that it would be ready tomorrow. I went outside to stretch and Niddler was looking over an area of the Tickwood that was just outside of the walls. I asked him what was up and he told me that this was the area that Madame Mvashti had told him would be best, based on what he was going to do, but that it was going to be a lot of work to remove all of the trees. I summoned up the Unseen Craftsmen and had them get to work cutting down the trees in the area that Niddler specified. Niddler was happy, and I noted that it was going to take a fair amount of time to get it all done.
I summoned up a second and third set of craftsmen and set them to work on clearing out the land and setting up rudimentary fences. I figured that they would be done tomorrow with the rate at which they were chugging along. A pity that they didn't have power tools, but they had enough in the way of tools that they were getting the job done. Niddler was happy and we worked together on some plans for greenhouses to take up the majority of the space. He was also planning out the buildings for the increased chickens, goats, sheep, and cows. I even offered up the Unseen Craftsmen again tomorrow for after the greenhouses were assembled and set up to get some farming done. Niddler was pleased.
I went back to the school and checked in on everyone. Faunra had been finishing up on her day of enchanting. She had a quartet of human sized Waxman/Homunculi versions of herself and Shalelu. They were all working on enchanting different items for the group. I noticed the efficiency of everything and resolved to tell her of such as soon as she stopped, just as she stopped. I walked over to her and told her my observation. Faunra nodded and noted that she had something that she had wanted to talk to me about anyway, so my timing was spot on.
Faunra told me that she had discovered a ritual among the different spellbooks that we had brought back from the Runeforge that had been among Fat Thanos' belongings. Apparently he never got around to performing the ritual, as he would have been a lot more difficult to deal with if he had. She told me that she had wanted to try it for herself, and would like my assistance in doing so for her ritual. Shalelu would be joining us. If it succeeded, she wanted to offer me the chance as well. I told her that I was game, but what did she need me to do. She told me that I needed to review the ritual in Jordimandus' spellbook, and that once I was done with that, we could attempt it. I told her that I would do so, and asked her if she had been studying it while we were in the Runeforge. She nodded, and I told her that it was a smart use of her time.
I sat down with the book, and started studying. After barely two hours I went back to talk to Faunra about the details. She was extremely surprised how far I had gotten, and I told her that I was a quick study. She told me that she wouldn't be ready for a week, as she felt the need to get some specific weapons set up for herself. She recommended that I do the same, and that when we were done, we'd be able to have an arsenal to go to the next stage with. I told her that I'd do so, but that we should do the rituals in the danger room, as by then it would be a testing range for my weapons, and would count for the requirements, and by the time that I was done, I'd have coated it in protective materials that would prevent scrying. Faunra smiled and said that she felt it seemed like a good idea.
I went ahead and went home to check in on Savah. She was in the bedroom, modeling her new attire from Rynshinn. She looked good and I told her as such. Savah smiled and told me that Rynshinn would be getting a LOT of business from her in the future. She noted that she dropped by Hannah's as well and noted that Hannah gave her a clean bill of health. Hannah did tell her to take it easy for a little while, but Savah was planning on doing that anyway, as she had a lot of planning to do for the school and her store expansions.
I told her that I'd been invited to perform a ritual with Faunra and Shalelu in a week, and that if the ritual was a success, that Faunra invited Savah to do the same ritual with just her and I. Savah looked a little upset, and I told her that the scope and function of it. Savah smiled then and asked if we could do the same thing for her and Shalelu. I shrugged and said that I wouldn't be against it, but that it did have a cost, which was probably why Faunra suggested just herself and myself. I hastily added that we'd definitely perform it again, when we had the resources to do so. Savah agreed to that and said that she'd be glad to be able to direct my weapons if I was indisposed of. I smiled and said that this was the point.
Savah asked what we were having for dinner, changing the subject and I asked her what she might like. She told me that she wanted to just have a nice night at home, and I agreed readily. I told her that I had just the thing, and told her that it would take a few minutes. I went into the kitchen and started setting up some egg drop soup and pepper steak with rice. It was a simple meal, and I didn't have any of the appropriate sauces, but what I did have was Prestidigitation. Once it was done, I got Savah and we ate together. Savah told me that she was glad to have some time with me before we headed out again.
I realized that I had not told anyone about the runecasting that I had done today. I told Savah what I had received as a message and she nodded, saying that she expected as much. She told me that she figured that things would be moving faster now that we were getting more attention from the Runelord. I nodded, saying that I expected us to have to deal with entities from Echidna as well as him before this was over. Savah nodded, noting that she had heard from Shayliss that Jonathan was expecting to have his unique issues as well.
We finished off our meal and got ourselves situated in the bedroom for a nice relaxing night. I set up a nice relaxing movie and we watched it while we talked about the future plans for everything. Savah had some decent thoughts about what we should do next, and what would help us further. She noted that she'd really like that further upgrade for her armor, and I told her that the exoskeleton would be done very soon, and that she could get the extra weapon waldoes done when we got back. Savah said that she'd like that as well.
