Sonic and Sophia were having a race in a clearing, both of them neck and neck. The hedgehog flinched as he saw something up ahead. "Whoa!" Bunnie and Tails were standing in their way, waving their arms. The speedy duo skidded and came to a stop in front of them. "What's up, guys?"
"Is something wrong?" Sophia asked in concern.
"We have a surprise for you guys, Sonic," Tails stepped forward and covered Sonic's eyes with a handkerchief. Bunnie did the same thing with Sophia.
"Cool! I love surprises."
"We don't have surprises back on my planet. Are they a good thing?" Sophia wondered curiously.
"Yup! And it's good cuz this one's gonna put you both right up on cloud nine!" Bunnie giggled as they led the two forward.
"Are we there yet?" Sonic questioned impatiently. "I hate going this slow. Boring!"
"Yes, what is the point of all this walking around?" Sophia reached out to her handkerchief.
"Don't move it yet!" Tails warned her and she lowered her hand.
"Almost there, sugar," Bunnie stated and they passed into a push.
"We're here, you guys," The fox announced, both him and Bunnie taking off the blindfolds.
"So what's the big surprise?" Sonic wondered and they looked up.
"Ta-da!" Rotor, Sally, and Antonie were standing near a large propeller plane.
"Wow!" Sophia ran forward a bit, looking at it.
"Oh," Sonic crossed his arms. "Where'd that come from?" He stepped forward and joined Sophia's side.
"We built it from scratch," Rotor explained to the two.
"Sonic, isn't it past cool?" Tails asked happily with a smile.
"Yes, yes, way past cruel," Antonie added in and Sophia turned to them.
"I find it cool! I've never seen one of these before."
"You've never seen a plane, Soph?" Rotor asked and she gestured to her back.
"I have wings, and our planet relies on those means for air travel," The pink-haired girl reminded him.
"We call it the Freedom Stormer!" Sally announced proudly, hands on her hips.
"Huh?" Sonic was confused, however. Specifically on why they needed it when they had Sophia around, and what exactly they'd be using it for. "It's...really great."
"We're flying it to Maga to look for the Secret Scrolls," Sally revealed and he scratched his head.
"What's a 'Maga'?" He asked and Sophia sighed a bit.
"We've talked about this before, Sonic, while we were running?" She raised a skeptic brow. It'd be pretty hard for him not to know since Sally explained to the girl last night about it. Sonic just shrugged at her.
"When I'm running, I don't think about anything else, Soph."
She facepalmed at him. She tended to forget that it was in one ear, out the other with Sonic during their races.
"Anyway, Maga is an ancient city hidden deep in the Great Mountains," Sally pointed out to him.
"So, um, what's a secret scroll?" He asked curiously.
"My father told me the scrolls had great powers, but that no one else has been able to find them," She rubbed her chin.
"Sure. That's why they're called 'secret' scrolls," Sonic responded sarcastically to her statement.
"Well, I think we can find them," Sally stated confidently.
"And you're gonna fly there in that air jalopy?" Sonic raised a skeptic brow.
"You can only see Maga from the air," Sally then crossed her arms, looking annoyed. "And it's not a jalopy," She corrected the hedgehog. She then took Nicole from her boot, opening it up. "Nicole, boot up the map of Maga."
"Accessing, Sally," A hologram appeared in front of the group.
"This is Maga," she stated as a red dot blinked. "I really researched this and found these markers. They'll lead us straight to the temple where the scrolls are."
Sonic wasn't convinced, however. He felt like something would happen while they were out there. "Plan won't fly, Sal," He shook his head.
"Yes, it will," She argued to him.
"No way," He shook his head again.
"It will!"
"Won't," He argued back and Sophia pinched her nose.
"Will!"
"Won't!"
She then stomped her foot in frustration. "Stop that and give me one good reason."
"You'll be a sitting duck for the Stealth Bombers," He pointed out to the chipmunk.
"We can fly at night. And it doesn't seem to stop Sophia, who has wings."
"Huh?" Sophia asked in surprise at her being brought in.
"That's different. I wouldn't let her fly at night either. Why can't you just get her to fly there?"
"B-But I can't carry all of us in one trip to Maga. I don't have the necessary upper body strength," She tried to input, but was ignored.
"So you have no problem with her flying naturally regardless, but you can't give me one good reason we can't fly the plane," Sally crossed her arms.
"Please leave me out of this. I'm sure we can-"
"Whoa, whoa, I never said she was going," Sonic crossed his arms. "Robotnik's radar will pick all of you up in a Sonic second," He snapped his fingers and Sally got even more frustrated, who wanted to win the argument.
"Soph can fly low under the radar and so can we. Tell him, Soph."
"No, tell her we're not going. I don't like it," Sonic stated, Sophia looking between the two nervously. "And I don't think we should go. Right, Soph?"
"If you would both just listen-"
"Sonic, we can use the scrolls' power against Robotnik. We are going. With or without you."
"OKAY!" Sophia shouted at the top of her lungs, getting their attention. "We're flying the plane, and I'm flying as well. Sonic, whether you like it or not, we need advantages against Robotnik," She pointed a finger at him. "My powers certainly aren't going to be enough. Unless you have an idea on how to have an edge against him."
"...Okay, okay, I'll go," He relented after a few seconds. "But I'm using the ol' ground transportation. I'll follow ya."
Sally simply rolled her eyes even though she did win.
The Freedom Fighters group were preparing the plane for take-off, Sophia's wings appearing on her back. Sonic stared at her, a bit concerned. Rotor grabbed the levers and started up the plane. Sally sat next to him while Bunnie and Antoine were in the back.
"Right rudder," He called out and Sally saw it moving up and down.
"Check."
"Left rudder," He called out again and the rudder moved. Sonic and Sophia watched from the ground.
"Check."
Antoine looked around and then out the window, shaking in fear. "Antoine?" Bunnie wondered and he yelped, turning to her. "Tell me the truth, are you all afraid of flying?"
"Wha-" He cleared his throat to derail suspicion or confirmation. "Moi? Uh, I am a-scared of abso-toot-ly not one thing."
Sonic and Sophia gave Rotor a thumbs up. "Turn us loose, Sonic!"
"Roger," The two ran over to a tree, where a rope was tied that had been connected to the plane. He untied and they ran back to remove the blocks holding the wheels in place. The plane then started to take off.
"Good luck!" Sonic waved to them, Sophia doing the same.
"I'll see you in the sky!" She called out to them, flapping her wings to make sure that nothing was wrong with them. She then flew off the ground, with Sonic grabbing her leg.
"Soph. Be careful out there. Robotnik's always got something up his sleeve."
"I will be, since I have my friends," She smiled softly for his concern.
The plane rolled down a rickety path, the tires bumping into things. Antoine was clutching at the seat in front of him. "Magnifique! I love to fly so much like the birds and the bees!" The plane went over a cliff and then fell down a bit. Antonie let out a scream as the plane glided downward, followed by Sophia. She gasped as she saw that something was off and that they were getting way too close to the ground.
"Guys!" She shouted in alarm.
"Rotor, what's wrong?" Sally wondered as he was gripping the throttle.
"The throttle's locked up! Gimme a hand!"
She tried to pull it back with him, but it still wasn't budging. They started to fall towards a canyon. "Come on, Rotor! Pull! Pull!"
Sophia flew over and floated near Sally. "What's wrong?!"
"The throttle's stuck!" Sally called out. The two kept struggling to pull it and Sophia flew in, pulling with all her might. They managed to get the throttle back in place, pulling it back upwards towards the sky. "Yes!"
The others cheered while Sonic sighed in relief, having watched the whole thing using binoculars. "Too close for the old comfort. Juice it loose time," He charged up and then ran down with a trail of fire to catch up with them.
They were now in the Great Mountains, Sophia flying over them for precaution. She looked around with in interest at the Mountains as the plane seemed to be doing just fine now. They glided along the mountains.
"Um, how far to Maga now, my princess?" Antoine asked nervously while Sally was looking at her holographic map from Nicole.
"Maga should be right over this next mountain, Antoine," She informed, looking over her shoulder. She then looked back and saw the sight in front of her. "Oh, my..."
Up ahead past a few mountains was ton of rock structures on top of one mountain. The group looked on in awe. "Magnifique..." Antoine murmured to himself. Sophia beamed upon seeing the city as they made it without any more trouble.
"Amazing!" Sophia smiled above them.
"Oh, it's even more incredible than legend describes..." Sally smiled at the city. Rotor continued gliding over the city, Sophia following.
"Woo-wee! Just look at that ground come rushing up to meet us!" Bunnie exclaimed, Antoine having squeezed his eyes shut in fear. "Looks like we're-"
"Bunnie!" Antoine shouted, covering his eyes with his hands. "Will you please to be shutting up your own face?!"
They flew close to the ground, but they were nearing a cliffside without any signs of a safe landing since it was very close. "Oh, man! We'll never stop this crate in time!" Rotor exclaimed in a panic. The plane touched the ground, but it was speeding towards the edge of the cliff. Antoine was screaming the whole time.
"Antoine, shut up!" The four exclaimed as they couldn't think. They got closer to the cliff and Sophia heard something, her ear tilting a bit. She glanced behind her, smiling in relief to see Sonic rushing over. The rope that was tied to the plane earlier was dangling behind. Sonic managed to catch up to the plane and grabbed the rope. He grabbed It and tried running the other way. "Could use a little help, Soph!"
She flew down and landed next to him. She held onto the rope and sped up her feet, both of them struggling to hold it back.
"Hey, we're slowing down," Rotor noticed, pulling the throttle. The plane managed to stop just right at the edge of the cliff, some rocks falling off. "Aw, man. Too close."
Sally sighed in relief. "I thought...oh, never mind what I thought," She shook her head.
"Can Bunnie open her eyes now?" The chipmunk glanced back at her friend, who had her eyes covered.
"Yep. It's okay. We're safe," Sally reported as Bunnie uncovered her eyes, looking around.
"My, oh my," She looked over the side of the plane. "Look at all that solid ground, Antoine." She didn't get an answer as all she heard was whimpering next to her. "Antoine?" She looked over to him to find him cowering, hiding his head underneath the seat.
Sonic sped to a stop, followed by a flying Sophia as they joined their friends. "Everyone cool?" Everyone except Antoine had stepped out of the plane. Bunnie helped Antonie out, and he looked scarred for his life emotionally as he was physically shaking.
"Antoine, you all look a little on the greenish side," She pointed out to him.
"For Ant, that's normal," Sonic remarked, earning a small snicker from Sophia, who was still flying near him.
Antoine snapped out of it to give the hedgehog a glare. "I 'ave never feeling more fine in my entire day!"
"I think you meant life," Sophia raised a brow. She was an alien, and she knew the correct term. Then again, she learned a while back that Antoine didn't speak normally unlike the others most of the time, and she mostly got her language from experience...
Nausea kicked in for Antoine, who covered his mouth with his hand. His face turned green as he tried to hold it in, but ran away to go throw up. Sonic turned to Sally, hands on his hips.
"Well?"
"Well what?" She wondered to him.
"Aren't you gonna thank me?" He jerked a thumb to himself.
"For what?" Sally asked cluelessly.
"For saving ya."
"Sonic," She started off, hands on her hips. "We were in the plane. If we had gone off the cliff, we would be flying."
He looked away, tapping his foot in thought. "Hmm. Good point. But where would ya land?"
"Oh," She turned away, stumped by that question. If he hadn't stopped it with Sophia, they probably would've crashed eventually. That, or there was the chance that they'd mess up the landing again had they retried it. "Good point. Thank you, Sonic. You too, Soph."
"And thank you for not forgetting that I helped, unlike some hedgehogs," Sophia gave Sonic an annoyed look.
"Thank you for what?"
"Oh..." Sally put a hand on her hair in exasperation and Sophia pinched her nose, shaking her head slowly.
"Really, Sonic?" She muttered loud enough for him to hear, wondering if he was usually this inattentive.
"What?" He asked cluelessly and Sally just walked off.
The group began trekking through Maga. They stopped to look at the city in front of them, all of them with looks of awe.
"That is truly amazin'," Bunnie commented at the sights. Sonic glanced away and saw something.
"Yo, Sal. What's that?" He pointed up ahead and they walked over to a large stone arrow against a rock that had some writing on it.
"The Arrow Stone. It marks the entrance to the ancient city," She explained to him. A gust of wind was then heard and it scared Antoine. He yelped and ran up to Sally and Sonic.
"W-w-what is that sound?" He looked around in fear.
Sonic wrapped an arm around him. "I don't know, Ant. Maybe it's a...MONSTER!"
Antoine screamed loudly, jumping up and landing in Rotor's arms.
"Leave Antoine alone, Sonic," Sophia placed her hands on her hips, a blank look on her face. She stepped forward, joining Sally and Bunnie in front of the arrow. They were specifically looking at the writing.
"What's it say, Sally-girl?" Bunnie wondered curiously.
"I don't know," Sally bent down and took out Nicole. "It's the ancient language of Mobius." She then turned on Nicole. "Nicole, can you translate?"
Various symbols went through Nicole's programming. "Translation...We do not see things as they are. We see things as WE are."
"Hmm. Well, I am shoeless."
"You mean clueless, Ant," Sonic corrected him. Sally then followed the direction of where the arrow was pointing. Behind her was a group of hedges that had a rock structure behind them. "Let's do it, Sal," Sonic walked over to her, tapping his foot.
"Okay, first we have to get through that hedge," She directed him, pointing to the same area.
"Technically, couldn't I just fly over it?" Sophia looked up in thought.
"You'd get tired just carrying Ant's giant fear. But that hedge? No prob," Sonic dashed towards it.
"Careful, Sonic! Magan legends say the city is booby-trapped!" Sally called out to him in warning, making him skid to a stop.
"Me? Trip a trap?" He asked confidently, snapping his fingers. "I don't think so! Spin to win time!" He got into a Spin Dash and cut through the hedge. The others ran in through the hole he made, with Sophia taking flight. Sonic landed on the other side, looking up to see Sophia floating down towards the ground like a parasol. She landed next to him and they waited for the others to emerge. They stepped out one by one and heard something, causing them to gasp. The six looked back.
"What is this now?" Antoine asked in terror, but it was just the same hole regenerating its leaves essentially.
"That's incredible," Sally murmured in awe as the hole disappeared as well, and it looked like it was never there in the first place.
"How'd it do that?" Sonic rubbed his chin.
"Perhaps Maga has protective techniques implemented should anything happen to their environment..." Sophia mused quietly, but they still heard it. And that wouldn't be impossible, given that the secret scrolls were already powerful enough on their own.
"They have something like this back in your planet, Soph?" Sally wondered curiously.
"Similarly, we just have destroyed crops regrow themselves in a few seconds, though I wish that applied to the whole planet..." She glanced away, feeling a bit awkward now since her home was destroyed with no sign of it being restored.
The wind howled, getting their attention and freaking out Antoine even more. "This place is giving me some creepies."
They walked past the columns made out of solid rock, and arrived at a stone wall. They came to a stop and looked up at it.
"I bet the temple's on the other side of that wall," Bunnie spoke up, pointing to it.
"I think you're right, Bunnie," Sally smiled at her. "It is."
"Cool," Rotor commented behind them. "But how do we get over? Soph can't carry us all at once, and she'd get tired out going back and forth."
Sally took out Nicole, who showed her a map of the area. "What's next, Sal?" Sonic wondered curiously to her.
"Well, we have to find the first marker, the Chair," She reported back. The wind started howling again, frightening Antonie. Sophia listened closely to the wind, her ear tilting a little.
"What is that?" She murmured in confusion, unable to pinpoint it. Sally turned off Nicole and listened in as well.
"Strange. That sound is always right on schedule," A fog moved in and she looked at her watch. "It sounds every 2.10 minutes." They covered their ears as debris flew around, with the wind increasing speed. And unfortunately, Sophia's wings were open, so it flew her off the ground.
"Aah!" She screamed and Sonic reached out, grabbing her hand. The others joined in and pulled her down. She quickly closed her wings.
"We gotta find shelter!" Rotor called out as they covered their ears. Sonic then pointed up ahead after taking a quick look.
"Behind that pillar! Grab on!" Sonic held out his hand, Sally grabbing it. Bunnie held onto her hand, followed by Sophia, Antoine, and Rotor. Sonic then sped up his legs. "Hang tight!" The six somehow disappeared into thin air and Sonic stepped out alone. "Yo, guys! Where did everybody go?"
"Here we are, Sonic," Sally called out, but he couldn't see her.
"Where?" He looked around in confusion. "I can't see ya." She walked out and emerged behind him, hands on her hips. He turned around and jumped. "Man, that is too weird. That shadow makes you invisible."
"I am still not liking this place too much..." Antoine stated as he stepped out as well.
"Oh, come on, Antoine," Sophia emerged next. "It's actually pretty fascinating. Nothing to be scared of!"
"See?" The chipmunk gestured to her. "That's exactly what I've been trying to tell Sonic!" He crossed his arms at being mentioned, huffing a little. "Come on. We got a lot to do," Sally walked off and the others followed her.
They came across a wall with an inscription on it. "Nicole, translate," Sally held up Nicole to the wall.
"Translation...What one cannot achieve in learning, one will achieve in the light of day," Nicole recited back.
"This stuff boggles the hedgehog mind," Sonic scratched the side of his head; he had no idea what any of the sayings that they had been coming across meant. And he had no clue why the people of Maga would even leave them there for people like them to find.
"It will become clear eventually...I hope," Sally looked a bit confused herself about what it could mean.
They walked around the city while Nicole was telling them about Maga. "According to Maga's history, each marker represents a test based on the ancient degrees of awareness—intelligence, spirit, and courage—in which only the worthy can succeed."
"That's 3 degrees, but there's two markers, right?" Bunnie pointed out from behind Sally.
"Right. It does boggle the mind," Sally stated in agreement with Sonic.
"Right there with you on that one, Sally," Sophia nodded from behind Bunnie.
Antoine sighed in exhaustion, walking over to a wall. "I am so tired...I could pop," He flopped down in front of a pillar, Sonic and Rotor joining him.
"Sally, what are we looking for?" Rotor wondered, sounding a bit tired himself.
"Something called the Chair," She told him.
"Oh, the bed sound too much nicer," Antoine stated, yawning a little.
"What kind of chair?" Sonic rubbed his chin.
"I don't know," Sally sighed a bit in frustration, since she didn't have a picture or even a description of it. She just knew that it existed in some capacity. Sonic looked up ahead and saw a light beam going over a structure. He looked back to see the light beam passing over a pillar and then looked back. The beam was now blue, and it ended on an actual chair.
"Yep. Definitely a chair. He popped his finger out of his mouth and then touched his arm with it. "Yeow! You are sizzling, hedgehog!"
They reached the chair, where there was the same writing on it that they saw before. "What one cannot achieve in learning, one will achieve in the light of day," Nicole restated to them.
"Just like the inscription," Sally turned to the hedgehog. "Good work, Sonic."
"So now what, Sal?" He shrugged at her. She simply flipped onto the chair, sitting on it.
"I think...we sit." They gathered around and sat down on the chair, but then nothing happened. Sonic looked at his watch impatiently, looking up to the sky. He then crossed his arms, tapping his foot. The others didn't seem too patient either until suddenly the chair launched them into the air. They screamed in surprise as they flew over the wall and landed right in front of the temple safe and sound.
"Oh my stars!" Bunnie exclaimed, hands on her cheeks. "This must be the place!"
"It is," Sally confirmed with a smile. "Come on," She jumped off the chair, followed by Sonic. The others jumped off the chair and entered the temple. Up ahead was a platform that was shrouded in light, with not one, but two scrolls on the table.
"Sal, why are there two scrolls?" Rotor asked her.
"One is a fake. If we approach the wrong platform, the temple will explode," She stated, to their shock.
"Explode?!" Antoine shouted in alarm, sweating nervously. "Oh, no, no, no, no..." He mumbled incoherently.
Sonic looked between the two scrolls, trying to figure out which one was the real one. "Man, they sure don't make this easy."
"Wait, Soph has laser eyes, right?" Rotor asked curiously. "So couldn't she examine the scrolls if she just adjusted the focus in her pupils for a scan to see which one is the right one?"
"That's cheating, but hypothetically I could—and probably destroy the scroll in the process. Which would still explode the temple," She crossed her arms.
"Oops," He smiled sheepishly.
"Somewhere, there is an answer..." Sally tapped her cheek in thought, Bunnie walking over.
"Hey, what about all those hieroglyphics Nicole's been translating?" She pointed out.
"Yes...yes! The Arrow Stone. We each see things differently...that's it!"
"It...it is?" Rotor tapped the top of his head, a little confused.
"Yes," Sally beamed as she realized what the statements meant. "We overcame the first obstacle, the Chair, with our intelligence."
"Thank you, thank you," Sonic bowed, Sophia rolling her eyes in amusement.
"Then this is the second degree of awareness—spirit," Bunnie spoke up.
"Yo, that's us—the Freedom Fighters!" Sonic pumped a fist.
"Yeah, we're survivors!" Rotor exclaimed in agreement. They looked between the two scrolls again and made a choice at the one that was not glowing.
"That's it!" Everyone exclaimed in unison.
"Only one way to find out!" Sally stepped up bravely, and the one they chose glowed, starting to change shape. "I can do this..." She gave herself a small pep talk, stepping further.
"Oh, I cannot see this..." Antoine trembled, covering his eyes with his hands. Sally braced herself as the scroll flashed and then revealed two scrolls in its place.
"Sal?" Sonic called out in concern and she turned to them with a thumbs up. She then took the scrolls, handing one to Bunnie. She opened up the one she was holding.
"What's it say, Sally-girl?"
Sally took out Nicole, opening her up and holding her up to the scroll. "Nicole, translate."
"Accessing...The Secret Scrolls of Maga contained herein are the seven wonders of Mobius. Powerful, natural wonders, but dangerous if misused." The five glanced at each other and then there was a pause from Nicole. Sonic placed his hands on his hips, tapping his foot.
"Nicole, we're waiting~"
"The first wonder is the wind tunnel, called the Breath of Mobius," She then showed it from a hologram.
"Blowhole," Rotor pointed at it in realization. "That's where the big wind came from."
"That's cool. What's next?" Sonic wondered, but Sally had changed her expression.
"Courage."
"Say what?" He asked and she turned to him.
"There are 3 degrees of awareness. The last test is courage."
"Right, but how are we going to accomplish this last test?" Sophia questioned, and it went unanswered as they heard a sound. A door opened to reveal Robotnik standing there! They backed away in shock to see him.
"Surprise!" He grinned evilly. Then he stepped forward towards the group, also having Swatbots behind him. "Give me the scrolls, princess."
"That ain't gonna happen, Robuttnik," Sonic stood bravely in front of his friends. "Snooze, ya lose."
"As usual, you are making a serious mistake, hedgehog."
Sophia sneered at him; the last time she saw him face to face like this, he had thrown her into a cell and then roboticized her parents.
"Ah...Sophia. Such a shame about your parents..."
"Yeah, thanks to you!" She grunted angrily.
"Gimme a Sonic second, Robuttnik," Sonic held up a hand, Antoine shaking behind him. He then turned towards Sally. "Sal, when I juice, you guys run for it."
"Be careful, Sonic," She whispered to him.
"I'm waiting, hedgehog," Robotnik spoke up.
"Hey, that's my line!" The hedgehog jerked a thumb to himself. "Listen, I'd like to hang with you, botheads, but I gotta juice," He sped up his legs and sped past Robotnik, leaving behind smoke.
"Get him!" Robotnik ordered and the Swatbots were about to fire when Sonic circled around them, creating more dust. His friends escaped in the meantime and after the dust was gone, so was the hedgehog.
"Find that hedgehog!" Robotnik snarled in anger, his bots splitting up. Then Sonic reappeared nearby, his arms crossed as he was leaning against a wall.
"You called?"
He grinned confidently, pulling out a ray gun. He turned around to see Sonic. "Well, rodent, this time it's just you and me..."
"I know I'm thrilled," Sonic replied sarcastically.
"Adieu, hedgehog," He fired at the blue hedgehog, who zipped out of the way and circled around both Robotnik and Snively. "Stand still, you miserable hedgehog!"
Sonic eventually stopped a few feet behind them, letting out a yawn. "I aim to please. How's this?"
"Perfect..." He fired at Sonic, who dodge it.
"Give it up, Robuttnik," Sonic teased and then ran right past the duo.
"Snively, launch the Stealth orb."
"Yes, sir," Snively pulled out a device and used it to activate the Stealth Orb, which was kind of an upgraded surveillance bot. The Stealth Orb got deployed out.
Meanwhile, the others were in the passageway, following Sally in the lead. The wind, just like last time, was blowing loudly.
"Um...there is something too scary about this place," Antoine whimpered from behind.
"It's just the sound, Antoine," Sophia waved it off, flying above the group.
"She's right. It's just the Breath of Mobius," Sally agreed with her as they came to a stop.
"That's the first time we've heard the wind in the temple," Bunnie told them quietly.
"Yeah, but the last time it happened, there was wind, and there is none here," Sophia pointed out.
"You're right, guys," Rotor listened to the sound. "Maybe we're close to finding a way out..." He looked at the walls.
"Come on. We'll follow the sound," Sally waved them forward and they stepped in one by one. Antoine was at the rear and screamed when he saw a giant spider. He stumbled through what looked to be a secret door. Sally and Bunnie followed the secret passage to see him trembling on the ground. "Are you okay, Antoine?" She helped him sit up.
"Uh, oui. Yes, of course. I am, uh, half past cool," He chuckled nervously and Sally helped him stand. Sophia and Rotor walked in and they looked down to see a hallway.
"Hey, you found the way out, Antoine," Bunnie smiled at him.
"Eh, b-but natural. I am always knowing whatever I am doing," He crossed his arms confidently.
"I'm not sure if I can chalk up to either that or just pure luck," Sophia rubbed her chin.
"Come on," Sally spoke up and they started walking.
Sonic was running around Maga with the Stealth Orb following close behind him. He took to hiding behind a pillar, the Stealth Orb finding him immediately. He took a moment to think and then pointed somewhere else.
"Look over there!" The Stealth Orb fell for it and flew away. "Got-cha!" He left his hiding spot and when the Stealth Orb went back to his location, he wasn't there. The Stealth Orb chased after him and he hid again, looking up to see that it was gone. "Yes!"
However, when he left, the Stealth Orb was just floating above him, waiting for the hedgehog to come out. It followed Sonic after seeing him and he looked over his shoulder, in disbelief. "No way!" He turned a corner sharply, the Stealth Orb cornering him.
"Ahh...the hedgehog cannot escape, Snively," Robotnik rubbed his hands together.
"No, Sir." Snively looked at his screen that was connected to the Stealth Orb's camera. The Stealth Orb was still on Sonic's tail, and when it caught up to him, he dashed over to another hiding spot. The Stealth Orb started scanning for Sonic, who took a moment to catch his breath.
"Yo, Sal! You in here? Sal?" He called out. "Where are-"
She emerged from the spot next to him, grabbing his hand. "Here we are, Sonic." The others emerged behind her.
"Robotnik's got some mega-orb tracking me. I can't shake it!" He informed them.
"It might be an orb specifically created for stealth, in a way that it always tracks you down that you can't hide from it," Sophia tapped her chin in thought.
"If that's the case, I have an idea," Sally rolled down a scroll. "Nicole, boot up the Breath of Mobius diagram."
"Accessing, Sally..." The hologram of the Breath of Mobius appeared in front of them.
"The Breath of Mobius runs along this side of the ruins. Now the winds blow at a speed of 175 miles per hour..."
"Yeah!" Sonic exclaimed with a smile. "That wind is a major blower. Glad I thought of it."
Sophia just shook her head silently.
"The alcove is connected to the wind tunnel. You can hide there, but you'll get hit by the winds," Sally explained to him.
"Moi? That ain't gonna happen. The hedgehog can outrun any wind," Sonic bragged, looking up to the sky. "But Soph, you're gonna come with me and learn just how to fight winds like this." Before she could respond, the Stealth Orb spotted Sonic.
The others except Sophia and Sonic stepped away. "Listen up, Ro-butt-ski! The ol' evil eye here is pretty cool, but it will never catch the hedgehog!"
"Or an alien princess! See ya!" Sophia saluted to the orb before they both took off, the alien flying over Sonic. The others watched as the Stealth Orb flew after the duo.
"Less than two minutes before the Breath of Mobius..." Sally looked at her watch, having hope for the duo to make it out unscathed.
Sonic skid to a stop, Sophia flying above him. "You're really slippin', evil eye. Let's see a little slash n' dash; a little rip n' zip."
"Am I supposed to know what those mean?" Sophia whispered in confusion to him.
"Nope! Juice time!" The two then suddenly disappeared. Robotnik, Snively, and the Swat-bots appeared on site to investigate.
"Where are the hedgehog and the princess, Snively?" Robotnik demanded him.
"They...they seem to have disappeared, sir," Snively sweated nervously, expecting a lecture or worse.
Sonic and Sophia peeked from their hiding spots, going over to the blowhole.
"There they are! Now we have them!" Robotnik and Snively smirked at their impending victory of capturing them...or so they thought. They surrounded the blowhole. "Look around, hedgehog, little girl. You're trapped. Do come out and spare us all this drama, won't you?"
"We're in here, Robuttnik! Come and get me!" Sonic urged him.
"We're waiting~" Sophia mocked them.
"Send in the Stealth Orb!" Robotnik ordered, the robot flying inside. Inside the dark, the two hid as they watched the Stealth Orb look for them. Sophia snickered a bit, covering her mouth with her hand. "Show yourself, pincushions!" Robotnik challenged as he didn't see them from his device. "I'm tired of your monotonous games."
Sonic looked at his watch. "Ten seconds to showtime."
Sally looked at her watch as well, the group hiding a few feet behind Robotnik and his army. "Eight seconds..." Antoine turned around from behind Bunnie, keeping his fingers crossed.
"Come on, Robotnik! What are you trying to do; bore us out of here?" Sonic tapped his fingers against his knee.
"It's almost as if he doesn't want the challenge," Sophia agreed, a hand on her cheek.
"Snively..." Robotnik was now noticing the wind. "What is that sound?"
"I don't know, sir," Snively shook his head.
Sonic smirked as the gust of wind flew past them. "Root n' scoot time!" He reached into his backpack while Sophia opened up her wings, and they folded in front of them to protect themselves against the wind. She braced herself as her wings flapped, but they managed to help prevent blowing them away. "Alright, Soph!"
She smiled, opening up an eye as she briefly looked up.
The wind then blew Snively, Robotnik, and the Swat-bots away from the blowhole, almost like a geyser that just erupted. "Time to juice it, Soph!" Sonic called out as he pulled out a power ring. The wind blew them out, Sophia holding onto Sonic. Her wings then stopped in place, acting as a glider to fight back against the wind. He lunged forward and got back onto the ground. Sophia flew backwards away from the wind, landing next to him.
"Sonic! Soph!" The others came out of hiding as Sally spoke. "Are you guys okay?"
"Yeah, but Robotnik isn't. He's history," Sonic informed them.
"Robotnik dead?" Bunnie asked, the other two in shock. "I just can't believe it." The six stepped up to the edge of the canyon, where Robotnik had been blown into.
"Believe it..."
They walked back to the plane together. "You have the scrolls, Sal?" Sonic wondered and she held them in her hands with a smile.
"Right here," She handed them to Antoine, turning back to Sonic. "Are you coming with us?"
"On one condition," He started off.
"I'm afraid to ask..." Sally remarked in disdain.
"Don't be afraid," Sonic acted like Dracula for a split second, confusing Sophia.
"I don't get it..." She murmured to him.
"Okay, okay," Sally relented to the hedgehog. "What is the condition?"
"I get to fly the plane."
Antoine screamed once he heard that, stepping backwards in fear.
As the plane took off, Sonic was flying it, to Antoine's dismay as he screamed his head off. "Too cool!" Sophia flew above them again because she would never do that to herself by getting into the plane. Antoine braced himself, covering his eyes.
"Oh, this is to be the end of my handsome self as I know it..."
Sonic then did some aerial stunts, taking his friends by surprise. "I liked it better when Sonic traveled by sneakers," Sally admitted in fear.
"Yeehaw!"
They screamed as he did a loop and Sophia facepalmed herself. "Fly the plane gently, Sonic, so you don't traumatize our friends!" She called out, cupping her hands to her mouth. "GENTLY!" She emphasized as she raced after them.
At the edge of the cliff, Robotnik climbed up with Snively as they weren't actually dead. They looked back to the sky. "The hedgehog...and the princess...will pay dearly for this, Snively! Mark my words..." He declared angrily.
Angel: Sorry this episode took so long to come out today, it actually wasn't finished because my work schedule and school schedule made me too busy to finish it earlier in the week. I was also tired because I had worked longer hours in specific days, so this episode wasn't getting worked on as much compared to the last three episodes. And because of that fact, it might take longer than it should to get more episodes out? I didn't have this issue occur the last 3 episodes, but who knows?
But because I'm so busy lately, I'm like in story limbo. Like, I have some first episodes done for other stories, though they're definitely not ready to be released. So what's gonna happen from here on out is that random stuff will be released once both Treasure Planet and this are done. This is so that I can work on whatever I REALLY wanna work on first and won't have to wait longer to write the stories that I still have interest in doing, just...slightly less than whatever's gonna come out first if that makes sense? Treasure Planet and Sophia Satam are still going to be worked on as of now at their regular time-frames, but whatever will be released next will remain a mystery.
Not gonna say what's coming out, but I do hope you guys will like it, and thank you for your continued support.
