Chapter 12: .
Jack was knocked back by exodia's attack and fell to the ground.
Dark signer Leo: So, what was that you said about defeating me?
Leo then walked over to Jack and grabbed him by his collar.
Dark signer Leo: Not only did you give me something I need to kill the crimson dragon but now you also failed to save to Carly. If you'd only have taken this more seriously maybe Carly would still be here!
Jack stared at Leo's pitch black eyes in rage.
Jack: I promise you Leo, even if I fall one of us will defeat you!
Dark signer Leo: I praise you courage even though it'll do you little good. You know I was going to send you to the netherworld but since you failed to save Carly and now you are going to lose red nova I think it'll be better to just leave you here, broken!
Leo began to siphon Red nova's power from Jack. After fully absorbing red nova Leo then grimaced in pain, he didn't expect this as he absorbed all the other immortals just fine, he needed to leave. But before he left he decided to rub in his victory further.
Dark signer Leo: Y-You know what! Since I'm feeling generous you can have the deck!
Leo took the deck Carly was trapped in and threw it in front of Jack Scattering the cards. Leo then teleported away leaving Jack still there. He thought that maybe if her reassembled the deck Carly would come but. Soon Jack fully reassembled Carly's deck but when he placed the last card nothing happened. Jack in both rage and sadness screamed into the sky.
*Luna's house*
Himari was preparing a meal for Luna, Kenji and Crow.
Kenji: So Crow, tell me about yourself.
Crow: I take care these orphans I found on the street.
Kenji: Good, I always like it when Luna brings good people to our house.
Crow: Yeah, your daughter has a habit for drawing in good people.
Luna: Thanks.
Himari: So Luna, when is Leo supposed to return from this trip.
Luna: In a month.
Luna truly hopes that her parent's would buy her story.
Himari: Oh, okay.
Luna breathed a sigh of relief. Her parents still bought the story.
Himari: So where is Leo?
Luna: At the new duel academy.
Kenji: How about we go and surprise him.
Luna: Um, no.
Himari: Why?
Luna: Because maybe he'll be taking an important exam. After all this is supposed to be a really important trip for creating great duelists. Maybe he'll be like you guys.
Kenji: Let's hope so. Also Luna I've been meaning to ask you, where is this, Yusei Fudo?
Crow: Wait you know Yusei?
Kenji: Yes, Luna called us one time and told me how nice he was to them. I want to thank him.
Luna: He is in a coma.
Kenji looked at Luna with shock.
Kenji: What happened?
Luna: He was in an accident.
That wasn't a lie, it was true that Yusei in an accident due to Akiza's power.
Kenji: I'm so sorry about that. I would've loved to personally thank him for taking care of you and Leo.
Himari finished cooking and brought the food to the table the three were sitting at.
Luna: Thanks mom.
Himari: You're welcome.
After that they began to eat.
Crow: Wow, this is some of the best food I ever-
They then heard the door open and before they could react Jack walked into the dining room, normally he'd be surprised that the shogun and the geisha would be in the place he is but since Leo told him that they were his and Luna's parents he wasn't really surprised.
Kenji: Wait what?! What are you doing in our house Atlas!
Luna: He's a friend.
Himari: Oh.
Kenji: Hmm, Jack Atlas being friendly. Strange.
Luna: I'll go speak with him.
Before Jack could say anything Luna led Jack to a room and shut the door.
Luna: Before you do anything please don't say anything about Leo.
Jack: Why?
Luna: I can't let my parents know about him. If they find out they'll want to get involved and they'll probably get hurt or worse and I don't want to lose them.
Jack knew that what she said was true, but he also knew Leo would come for them eventually.
Jack: *Sigh* Okay. But please try to convince your father to rematch me when this is all over.
Luna: Of course. Just please whatever you do, don't tell them.
*?*
Leo was clutching his chest in pain. He felt it burning up like it was literally on fire he then felt like the lower half of his arms were being forced out of their sockets. He then saw the lower half of his arms begin to turn pure black and his fingers turning into magenta colored claws. He then noticed his skin beginning to turn pale white. This process was extremely painful for Leo and as he began to cry out pure agony he heard the voice of the primal being.
The primal being: There is a price for everything, this is the price of power.
The pain began to subside and Leo again heard the voice of the primal being.
The primal being: You have done well my acolyte. Soon we will silence the rest signers and the crimson dragon.
Dark signer Leo: Very well then, I will proceed with the next phase of the plan-
The primal being: There is something you should know, your parents have returned.
Leo began to tense up, he had little to no respect for his parents after what they did long ago.
Dark signer Leo: If that's the case then first I must return home, there is something there that I need.
*The realm of the primal being*
Yusei was walking through the darkness for what seemed to be like years for him. He had find a way out of this place. As he was walking he saw a red light shining in the distance, he began to run to it thinking it was a way out, after a bit he saw the red light begin to form into the crimson dragon but instead of it's usual cry it sounded like it's cry but with a mixture of pain. Yusei then ran towards him.
The crimson dragon looked weakly at Yusei.
The crimson dragon: Yusei.
Yusei knew something was up, the crimson dragon looked weaker.
Yusei: Are you okay?
The crimson dragon: It's Leo.
Yusei: Is he in danger?
The crimson dragon: No, the heart signer has fallen into the darkness. He is absorbing earthbound immortals into himself infecting me with his virus, I fear that I will soon die.
Yusei then realized that what the primal being said was true. Leo was the dark signer. The crimson dragon then coughed out a bit of blood. This of course greatly shocked Yusei.
The crimson dragon: I must admit, I have never expected to worry about my own mortality.
Yusei began to feel concerned for the crimson dragon, the crimson dragon of course sensed this.
The crimson dragon: Do not worry about me Yusei, you have more important things to worry about.
Yusei could only get out a few words.
Yusei: What has Leo done?
The crimson dragon: He has been causing chaos, he sent Akiza's parents and Sayer into the netherworld, he trapped Akiza in an endless mind loop and he trapped Carly in her deck, he absorbed Jack's red nova and all but three earthbound immortals.
The situation seemed really bleak to Yusei. Could he have stopped this? Could he have prevented this from happening.
The crimson dragon: Do not blame yourself Yusei. This is my fault.
Yusei: So it is true?
The crimson dragon: Yes, I sealed life stream away because it told me it was a creation of the primal being.
Yusei: What you did wasn't right, but we all make our choices, life stream apparently has now made his and is bringing destruction to us and it is up to all of us to stop him. Now how do I get out of here?
The crimson dragon: In order to get out of here you must surpass your limits. Look within yourself and face your inner demons.
Yusei: I promise you, I will fix this.
The crimson dragon: I have faith that you will do that, I cannot stay for I must save my strength. I truly hope you can stop this treat.
The crimson dragon then vanished and Yusei began to walk deeper into the darkness. After a while he saw the darkness somehow becoming darker around him and he then saw a silhouette of himself walking in front of him. He then saw fully, it looked like a clone of himself but it was wearing a tengu demon mask.
Yusei: Who are you?
The masked Yusei didn't respond, it just stared at Yusei.
Yusei: Answer me!
Dark Yusei: You know the answer to that question.
Yusei: So, you are my inner demons, and if what the crimson dragon said it true I must defeat you to escape this place.
Dark Yusei: Not entirely correct, you can return right now but I will be in control.
Yusei: I won't let you stop me. Leo is-
Dark Yusei: Who cares what the kid is doing. We'll defeat him like we did before, we already won this, after all we are the crimson dragon's golden child.
Yusei: Aren't you worried about what he'll do!
Dark Yusei: So what, if anyone dies or gets hurt because of the kid it'll be no big deal.
Yusei: But if-
Dark Yusei: Blah blah blah! Don't you get it! We're going to win, we'll walk up to Leo, Leo gives a malevolent speech, we defeat him and everything goes back to normal.
Yusei: The crimson dragon is dying! Leo is dangerous!
Dark Yusei: Yeah and when Leo is defeated the crimson dragon will return to normal health, the world is saved, Jack will say that he could've done better, Crow will say he always believed in us, Akiza and Luna will praise us on how great we are, and everyone else will worship the ground we walk on more.
Yusei was disgusted by what the other version of himself said.
Yusei: I came here to surpass my limits, not to be scolded by the evil within me!
Dark Yusei: If you want to learn how to do that you need to defeat me, at task which is impossible!
Yusei: If I am going to save Leo and the world then I will defeat you!
Wind began to blow around the two Yusei's as they activated their duel disks.
*Luna's mansion*
Luna walked around her home feeling a massive amount of guilt. She then entered her room and saw Leo taking a deck of cards from a safe. He then turned to Luna and what she saw horrified Luna, Leo looked less human, rather he appeared as a demon. It took nearly the strength she had not to scream.
Luna: Leo?
Dark signer Leo: Ah, I was looking for you.
All Luna could get out was two words.
Luna: Leo, why?
Leo looked down at the ground.
Dark signer Leo: I doubt you would understand, golden child!
Luna: Leo, please. Just come back, we can forget that this ever happened. I can help you!
Dark signer Leo: So I can just be a loser? The primal being's deal is better. You know I was originally going to just hunt you but now that I see our parents have returned I'll simply make you all suffer slowly. So I won't duel you just yet, instead I will destroy everything that you and the signers cared for!
Luna: Leo, please don't do this. I don't want to fight you, I want to help you!
Leo began to laugh but Luna for some reason she heard a mixture of laughing and crying in Leo's laugh.
Dark signer Leo: There is no helping me!
Luna: Don't say that Leo. I won't abandon you to the darkness-
Luna then began to feel a sensation of pain in her head and her chest and she began to cough.
Dark signer Leo: Oh, In case you don't know, I am absorbing earthbound immortals to infect the crimson dragon and since you are tied to the crimson dragon and since I absorbed so many immortals and red nova my little plague can now also pass onto you, albeit not entirely.
Luna fell to her knees in pain as she looked up at her brother.
Dark signer Leo: Oh I can see it now, our parents will try everything to cure you but they can't, they'll watch you, helpless like I was when-
The twins then heard their come up the stairs and as a result Leo escaped through a window.
Kenji: Luna, something is wrong. Jack and crow are sick-
She then began to cough and she then heard them run up to her and when Luna told them about what she was feeling them immediately called for medical assistance. When the ambulance came the medical crew got Luna, Crow and Jack and took them to the hospital.
