Chapter 17: Gaze into the abyss: Part 1

Yusei was walking around with the First Archlord. He wasn't anything like the gods he read about in greek or egyptian mythologies. He was an extremely kind and benevolent man even offering him a hamburger from time to time.

Yusei: So your magest-

The First Archlord: Oh please, there's no need to call me that my friend. You call me whatever you like so long as it's respectful my friend.

Yusei: Oh, um okay. Can I ask a question?

The First Archlord: You already did.

Yusei: Well then can I ask another?

The First Archlord: That was the second question.

Yusei: Oh.

Yusei then got an idea.

Yusei: Then may I ask four questions?

The First Archlord: My boy you've already asked them.

Yusei: Huh, when?

The First Archlord: Right now.

Yusei turned to the First Archlord

The First Archlord: Ha ha ha ha ha. Cheer up my friend I was only playing with you. Feel free to ask me your questions.

Yusei: Well can you help us save Leo from the primal being.

The First Archlord's face then turned from a look of happiness to a look of sorrow.

The First Archlord: *Sigh* Yusei I am sorry to say this, but I can't.

Yusei: What, why? You're all powerful, you're literally the strongest duel spirit in existance so defeating the primal being shouldn't even be a problem.

The First Archlord: Yes, you are correct in that sense but I have taken an oath, I can never interfere.

Yusei: That sounds an awful lot like the watchers from Leo's comics.

The First Archlord: *Chuckles* Yes I suppose you could say that.

Yusei: But my friend you have the power to end this and a bunch of other threats to our existance.

The First Archlord: And that Yusei is the very definition of why I cannot interfere. If I were to place my finger on the scale it would lead to deadly after effects. If I were to save just one, a few or even many people then I would need to save everybody else and that would make the concept of free will empty.

Yusei: But people are suffering. Not just because of Leo but because of other things, like what happened to me.

The First archlord sighed and created a table and two chairs, he went to further end of the table, he then created two cups poured himself and Yusei a drink. Yusei then sat at the other end of the table.

The First Archlord: Evil is a horrible residue of free will, the ability to choose one's path in life. I admit pain and suffering comes from it and it pains me, it truly does, but it doesn't change the fact that it is necessary.

Yusei: It's just, I wish good people didn't have to suffer because of it-

The First Archlord: Like your parents?

Yusei was shocked at his reponse.

The First Archlord: Yusei you need to know, with out free will good and evil would not exist and you would all cease to even be human and that's something I would never do to anyone.

Yusei: I-

The First Archlord then go up from his chair.

The First Archlord: Yusei I would now like to ask you a question.

Yusei: Sure you can.

The First Archlord: Do you believe that fate is predetermined or that you can chose your fate.

Yusei: I honsetly don't have an answer for that.

The First Archlord smiled.

The First Archlord: The answer is that it is determined as you want it to be. If you give in and refuse to make the necessary choices in life, no matter how hard they are, then our fate will cease to even be yours to control. However if you chose to fight for the right choice then your fate is all your own.

Yusei: I actually never thought of it like that.

The First Archlord: I sense you have another question to ask.

Yusei: The primal being, why did you create that!

The First Archlord: I did not, nor did I help create that creature. It was a being forged by the Darklords to embody pure sin.

Yusei: I also have another question. Why did the crimson dragon seal life stream away even though it proved that he was on their side.

The First Archlord waved is hand and Yusei was transported to a massive field and he saw The First Archlord and the Crimson Dragon.

The First Archlord: You did not need to do this.

The crimson Dragon: I had to! It was a creation of the primal being.

The First Archlord: Who more than proved himself of being an ally.

The crimson dragon: What if it betrayed me! The spirit world would be destroyed!

The First Archlord: It defeated it's creator, and would've helped you against the council of darklords, the ones who actually want to destroy the spirit world.

The crimson dragon: Even if it could help if the heart signer falls me and my signers would be weakened.

The First Archlord: What's to say it would, in the primal war the heart signer never fell while the other signers did.

The crimson dragon: Still it was my decision. It needed to be done for the safety of the spirit world and everybody in it.

The First Archlord: Have you considered that maybe this will be what pushes life stream to betray you?

The crimson dragon: If if does, it cannot defeat us, not anymore.

The First Archlord: ...

The crimson dragon: I know this may seem wrong, but it's for the greater good.

The First Archlord: The greater good for what? The spirit world, or yourself?

The crimson dragon: ...

The First Archlord: I am not here to judge you it was your decision. But I fear that one day your sins will catch up to you and many incconent people any maybe even you guys will suffer because of it.

The crimson dragon: As the guardian of the spirit world I promise you that I won't let that happen.

The First Archlord: I won't argue with you, but I'll leave you with a piece of advice. Instead of having stardust doing all the frontline fighting help the others unlock their full potential. Then again, it's up to you on whether or not you listen.

Yusei then saw The First Archlord walk off and the area he was in warp back to where he was with The First Archlord.

The First Archlord: If you wish to return to your body let me know.

Yusei was about to immediatly ask him to do that but he then stopped himself, he knew that even if the primal being was defeated, the first darklord would likely soon follow, he decided that maybe he could find a way in the sanctuary in the sky to permanently get rid of the first darklord.

Yusei: I think I'll stay for a little while longer.

The First Archlord: Very well my friend. I hope you enjoy your stay here.

*Citadel of the Darklords*

An avatar of the primal being walked through the massive halls of the citadel to where his master was. He then saw Darklord Amodeus, Darklord Ixchel and Darklord Tezcatlipoca. Sitting on three perched thrones in front of a door. The council of Darklords.

The primal being: Good evening council. I wish to speak to my master.

The darklords looked at the primal being with utter disgust.

Darklord Asmodeus: I'm surprised you're still alive, you know our master doesn't tolerate failure!

Darklord Ixchel: What makes you think that the master even wants to see you.

The primal being: Because I bring great news, news that our master will be happy to hear.

Darklord Tezcatlipoca: Leave, wretch.

The primal being: I'm the wretch? As I recall as I was assaulting the spirit world or when I was on the verge of victory of my war against the spirit world you three just sat there doing nothing, no scratch that, aside from sleeping with each other that's all you ever do and all you're good for. I've done more in a few weeks than all you did in your entire existence. What our master sees in you three is something I'll never understand.

As he said that Ixchel slammed her fist against her throne.

Darklord Ixchel: And I will never understand how our master tolerated your so called death dragon became the opposite of what it was supposed to be!

The primal being: He knew it still had potential to become what it was originally and turns out he was right. He now is what I promised he was.

Darklord Tezcatlipoca: But not before he tricked you into entering another dimension, you need to send avatars like you're doing right now in order to do anything.

As the primal being was about to respond he saw the three darklords give off looks of confusion.

Darklord Asmodeus: My lord. You truly wish to hear his news?

The primal being watched as the three got a psychic message detaling their master's response. The door behind them then opened

Darklord Tezcatlpicoca: Grr, go!

The primal being walked through the doors and into a hallway, he then entered a room where a silhouetted being on a throne was.

The primal being: My master, I have nearly completed my mission.

The first darklord: ...

The primal being was confused by the silence of his master, he expected praise from his master for his accomplishment.

The primal being: Why the silence master? Are you not proud of what I accomplished?

The first darklord then projected a psychic message into his head.

Voice of the first darklord: Proud? Proud that you have little to no records on earth regarding you? Proud that your own creation managed to easily trick you and undo your damage to the spirit world? Proud that you took thousands of years to start making progress again? No, I am not proud. I gave you power that dwarfs the combined power of both crimson dragon and the kind of the netherworld and you lose to simple trickery. In truth your failure disgusts and irritates me.

The primal being was both shocked and enraged. He worked hard on his mission and now his master berates and insults him. He was ready to make an attempt on his master's life.

The primal being: You dare speak to me like that! I will butcher you-

The primal being was then thrashed around by Morningstar with a neglectful amount of effort. As the primal being attempted to stand up he felt himself being crushed from the inside. He then heard another psychic message from his master.

Voice of the first darklord: Fool, you think me defenseless? Did you truly think that I would give you power that I couldn't overcome?

In his desperation the primal being tried to reason with the first darklord.

The primal being: F-forgive me my lord!

In response the first darklord projected another psychic message.

Voice of the first Darklord: Name one reason why I should spare you and maybe I'll reconsder erasing you.

The primal being: I-I'm close to manifesting in the spirit world!

The primal being was then let go from his master's power.

Voice of the first darklord: Continue.

The primal being: I've manipulated the heart signer into betraying the crimson dragon and he's doing well, he's absorbing the earthbound immortals making him stronger while also infecting the crimson dragon and his signers. Due to this I'll soon manifest and destroy the spirit world.

The news pleased the First darklord, he then decided to add something.

Voice of the first darklord: Very well, I'll spare you. However after he manifests you, you will synchronize this world, the spirit world and the human world and when you do I will be released to complete my mission.

The primal being: M-my lord, you mean you'll also do this.

Voice of the primal being: Yes, remember, I can erase this entire realm with the amount of effort it takes somebody to blink. When I am free I shall destroy all that the first archlord so deeply cares about before setting my sights on the sanctuary in the sky and all of realty shall bow to me!
