Inuyasha paced for days, wondering, waiting, cursing. Sesshomaru could see passed his brother's outward concern. He knew Inuyasha had to make a choice, but he wondered what Kagome would choose. If she went home, Inuyasha would not have to face her, and he could go back to his life as he knew it with the Miko he clearly wanted. Fool.

If the girl chose an immortal life, Inuyasha would either, and he was betting, making a fool of himself, lie, or drag the inevitable out as long as he possible could to avoid responsibility.

It was pathic.

It should have been an easy choice; one sought to change him, one did not. But it didn't matter; the end wasn't over till the girl made her choice, so none of that mattered right now.

As the 3rd day came, it left Sesshomaru wondering, could the jewel refuse to release her, could it enslave her to fight its will as it had done to its maker? He grew impatient like his brother but for very different reasons.
