"I can't take this anymore!" Angrily, Sayako screeches to the high heavens, shaking her head at her father, furrowing his brow at her, crossing his arms over his chest in exasperation.
"It's not that bad." Kazz sighs shaking his head at her.
"It's not that bad he says you're not the one bedridden!" Boisterously, Sayako points out glaring at her father.
"No but I am the one who has to deal with the bedridden." Curtly, Kazz deadpans swiftly silencing Sayako making her eyes narrow.
"Cheeky one aren't you?" Snippily, Sayako huffs at the ass of her father.
"And you wonder where you get that cheek from?" Teasingly, Kazz pinches her cheek making her eye twitch.
"Whose looking after Hikaru?" Panicked, Sayako gasps her eyes expanding in horror at the thought.
"Your aunt Kiyoko." Her father tells her.
"You trust her with him!?" Stunned, Sayako glowers at her father.
"She's not that bad…" Optimistically, her father smiles shyly at her.
"She took me to bars to pick up guys." Crudely, Sayako deadpans.
"Yeah, well she won't do that this time." Kazz promises her making her frown.
"And you know that?" Sceptical, she scowls at him.
"She promised me…" He sighs exasperated.
"Do…do you hear yourself sometimes?" Scowling, Sayako argues against her father.
"Is it so wrong for me to have faith in my own flesh and blood?" Tiredly, Kazz pinches the bridge of his nose.
"Yeah flesh and blood see the issue." Sayako leans back in her bed.
"Look she's fine, Hikaru's fine, everything is fine." Confidently, Kazz places his hand on her shoulders squeezing them, trying to reassure her.
"Can't I just go out for a walk or something?" Desperate, Sayako pleads grabbing his collar tugging him forward.
"No." Firmly, Kazz refuses making her groan falling flat to her pillow, shoving her face into the pillow releasing a muffled moan of defeat making Kazz sigh, his features softening pained to see his little girl so sad, so done, so drained.
"Why not?" Exasperated, Sayako demands from him fury laced in her tone.
"Sweetie you were stabbed." Kazz reminds her.
"Eh not the first time." Lazily, she shrugs him off making him exhale tiredly, trying to gather his patience.
"You were still stabbed." Fed up, Kazz repeats once more.
"This is imprisonment, this is against some sort of human right of mine!" Fuming, she snaps stating the fact.
"I'm sure." Kazz rolls his eyes at her, shaking his head and leaving her to rest focusing on his other rounds.
"Are you alright sir?" Kazz perks up at the voice turning to the nurse.
"I'm fine thanks for asking Yuki." Politely, Kazz smiles at her.
"Sir if you want you can take the day off." She offers.
"And leave Sayako to you lot? I'm not that cruel!" Jokingly, Kazz chuckles.
"She certainly is something else all right." Teasingly, she giggles.
"Yeah, but she's my little girl you know?" Gently, Kazz smiles softly, scratching his arm.
"Are you sure you want her to be a hero? I mean you've seen how dangerous it is." Apprehensive, Yuki furrows her brow.
"It's her dream." Proudly, Kazz smiles hand on hip.
"Her dream?" She raises a brow at him.
"It always has been…" Kazz sighs sadly at the memory of it all.
"Daddy! Daddy!" Excitedly, the young blonde giggles giddily as she sits on her father's lap as they sit down cross legged on the carpet floor, where she resides in his lap, her eyes sparkling at the screen showing the action on replay of the heroes fighting, battling, rescuing doing what they can against the mighty vicious villains. Her baby blues brightening up, the light of her blues shining shimmering making him smile shyly, holding, hugging his little girl.
"I wanna be a hero just like you two!" Joyous, the young girl tells the two holding both their hands.
"Just like us eh?" Amused, his blues glance over at a pair of green.
"Yeah!" Squealing, she grins from ear to ear at both her parents.
"I suppose with the right training we can-"
"You will, you can do it I know you can!" Animatedly, Kazz interrupts leaping down, wrapping her arms around the giggling girl holding her as the two-laugh joyous, sparkles in both their eyes only then for that sparkle to grow darker through time…
Quietly, Kazz stares down at the lone desk, the photo frame on his desk flat against the desk surface as he shakily sighs, his blues glassy as he blinks back the tears threatening to freely flow down. He slams his palm on his mouth trying to muffle the pained sob finally breaking through.
"Hey sweetie you're back." Strained, he smiles at his older daughter, scowling down at the ground, her once blonde locks now dyed brown, her blues glaring at the ground wearing a rather stylish delinquent attire, her coat draped over like a cape over her open loose blouse. Her blues now dull, dark as he forces his own to sparkle shine at his little girl.
"How was…?" Feebly, he begins only to falter from her cold curt silence brushing him aside approaching the stairs.
"Sorry…I'm guessing it was a rough day." Pained, he smiles reaching out attentively reaching out to brush the river of ruby red descending down her nostril only for her to brush him off, scowling at him.
"I'm fine." Coldly, she asserts making him recoil back bowing his head, a sad smile on his lips before brightening when realizing…..
"Hey Sai, my friend Shinya is looking for some people he asked me if I knew anyone who had a thing for underground work. He said he keep it hush, hush and…I know how you..." Hopeful, he smiles up at his little girl only for it to falter when seeing her cold curt stare.
"Why would I want to be like those fakes? "Icily, she snaps at him brushing him off once more and heading up the stairs.
"J-Just be quiet okay? Hikaru's trying to sleep. Please." Meekly, he smiles up at her, trying to hold in the dam threatening to descend down, trying to put on a brave face for his little girl and boy.
"As should you." Curtly, she snaps before heading up, leaving behind the doctor who bows his head, trying to blink back the tears, forcing a smile upon his lips, needing to be strong for his little girl, for his family, for…The soft sound of a sliding alerts the doctor turning to the door where he picks up the envelope opening it and hissing, cradling his bloodied slit hand, a razor comes crashing down as he bites his lips, bowing his head not wanting to make a fuss as he tries to clean up the mess, droplets of ruby red descend down the ruby red kanji…
