Halloween is a week away, and the Royal Family is planning a Halloween party as the girls are a bit too old to Trick-Or-Treat. Still, the girls dress up to participate in a costume contest, which offers all kinds of candy as prizes! Chibiusa dressed up as Cardcaptor Sakura, Jewel disguised herself as a ghost, Gracie wanted to be a cat, Crystal used clothes she had previously to look like the Phantom from Phantom Of The Opera.
Ariel took on the character of the same name from The Little Mermaid. Holly and Alexis agreed to go as the Devil and an Evil Court Jester. Emily did not know what she wanted to dress up as and was not really into Halloween, so she just picked the first Princess outfit she saw. And Trisha, surprisingly, donned a vampire costume! For a laugh, Jewel's Dark Kingdom Sailor Senshi came in dressed as the 4 Generals had been when under Queen Beryl's control, and that was it for their costumes!
Of course, Christen had to be the scariest, so she wrapped herself in all black and put on a paste-white, bony mask with pointed ears, sharp teeth, fake dried blood around the mouth, and a pair of clawed gloves! Then, glancing into a mirror, Christen almost scared herself; she looked like the real thing! Christen, always immersed in her books, had come across the stories of the Wendigo! While this creature is not as well-known as a Skinwalker, it is much more dangerous! Wendigos are superb hunters with claws, enhanced smell, hearing, superhuman strength, speed, the ability to hide in complete darkness, and mimic human voices!
Christen was sure she would win and, even if she did not, she could scare the winners to ruin their night! "Wow, Chibiusa! Your costume suits you! We should make something similar for you to wear any day of the year!" Gracie commented on Chiibusa's white and pink costume.
"Thanks, I'd love that! You look adorable too, Gracie!" Chibiusa squealed in excitement.
"Hm, I should be able to sew something that simple easily." Holly scrutinized the angel-like costume, already deciding what to include, what to leave out, and how to complete the smaller parts, which Alexis could help with, making her younger sister giddy.
Everyone was complimenting each other on their costumes, except Christen was absent, but they knew she was probably planning to try and scare everyone, as usual. So, when a tall, pale, humanoid creature with a bony face, pointed ears, fangs, and claws walked in, no one batted an eye as they assumed it was just Christen in a really convincing costume.
Chibiusa, Jewel, and the Neo-Sailor Senshi giggled as Christen frightened a few couples; she acted as scary as she looked! Yet…Gracie and Crystal did not look like they thought this was Christen! The Dark Kingdom Sailor Senshi felt something off too, but what could they say?
"I'm going to eat you…!" Everyone turned to see Christen in her costume, standing behind them and acting in a cheesy, creepy way?!
"Christen?! If you're here, then who is…?!" Chibiusa shook her head and turned back to the other Wendigo in the room!
"That's no costume! It's the real thing!" Gracie said a bit too loudly because the Wendigo turned its head and began charging towards them!
Not sure what Gracie was precisely talking about, but not like the seriousness in which this Wendigo pursued them, the girls ran through the Crystal Palace! No matter where they turned, the Wendigo blocked them off! Thankfully, Christen's short, ill-temper blew much earlier tonight, and she transformed!
"FLAME BOW AND ARROW!"
To the girl's relief, the fire seemed to be the only way to KILL a Wendigo as this monster collapsed and failed in agony on the floor before falling completely lifeless!
"What is the name of Neo-Queen Serenity? Was that?!" Star cried.
"Wendigo," Christen answered.
Everyone looked at her for more information, save Gracie and Crystal.
"A creature that was once human but was transformed into an immortal, evil spirit when it took up the practice of cannibalism. Wendigos are cursed to wander the land, eternally seeking to fulfill their voracious appetite for human flesh. Wendigos are generally rumored to be tall, lanky with glowing eyes, fangs, claws, or matted with hair.
The Wendigos' full powers have never been recorded. Still, it excels at stealth, smell, hearing, strength, and voice mimicry. It is a near-perfect hunter, especially at night, knowing and using every inch of its territory- caves, hills, trees, and bushes. Some stories post that Wendigos can control the weather through dark magic. Anasazi symbols and silver-tipped arrows can drive them off, but only fire can kill them." Christen explained.
"One attacked me in the forest when I was looking for Joey and Liz's Uncle John!" Gracie admitted.
"Did it hurt you, Gracie?!" Chibiusa yelled urgently.
"No, I defended myself with my Holy Stone Sword," Gracie assured everyone she was OK.
"I spotted one working with a pharmacy allied with Electrum International," Crystal added to the cases.
"How did you get away?!" Dawn asked, with an eager and curious Star and Ivy next to her.
"I used my Ice Freeze to slip past it and out the drive-through window." Crystal admitted, and the three are very impressed.
"Does Christen usually beat enemies with no sweat? I mean, she knew exactly what to do, and you two nearly got killed!" Dawn asked, noticing how helpful Christen has been lately.
"Fire is one of the purest elements. We better prepare ourselves before this gets worse." Ariel advised.
"Anybody knows how to make Anasazi symbols or silver?" Holly asked, trying to keep the sarcasm out of her voice.
"I can make more Anasazi symbols with Christen." Gracie volunteered.
"Simple, pure silver is found in ore. We'd need to use a mixture of mercury, salt, and copper sulfate to draw the silver out." Trisha described the process. Jewel knew they could easily buy mercury, salt, and copper sulfate, but the ore is hard to find as it is mined for its value.
"This is like the white ash-covered bullets all over again!" Emily moaned.
"Hopefully, we won't lose anyone we need this time." Alexis whimpered, but she tried not to be too scared to make herself cry.
"Why don't we get back to the party? Star, Ivy, sis, why don't you three go and see if you can round up the couples the Wendigo scared and tell them it's alright to return now?" "Shadow" suggested, to which the others nodded and took off.
While it was not difficult to drive off or kill a Wendigo, now that they knew how it was not like it was ever easy to stop or defeat evil; with the party dampened by the earlier scare and the girl's nervousness, this turned out to be their worst Halloween ever!
