"A child wearing a suit who are you?" Coldly, Stain snarls down at the foolish hero garbed in metal who had so ruthlessly reckless tried to charge at him only ending with him being thrown to the side, by the hero killer pinning the bloodied beaten Native to the wall, having planned to finish him off until his knight in shining armour had come striding in, hoping to rescue him.
"I am the brother of an incredible hero who you attacked. He's the best older brother anyone could hope for. I have come to stop you because he can't anymore. You're going to remember my name for as long as you live. I am Ingenium and I will defeat you, that I promise!" Proudly, Tenya roars, his helmet discarded casted to the side as he seethes, tears freely flowing from his blues.
"Then so be it. Die." Stain dictates dropping Native to aim his blade at the boy.
"For Tensei!" Teary eyed, Tenya screams raising his foot for a kick only for Stain to swiftly dodge said kick.
"Ingenium so you're brothers. I let him live so he could spread the good word, word of me! You're a weakling. Just like he was." Easily, Stain slams the spiked head of his boot into Tenya's shoulder after swiftly jumping up into the air, making Tenya cry out crimson spurting out of his shoulder. He comes crashing down courtesy of Stain standing over him, blade raised ready to end him.
"Argh!" Tenya cries out as the slick silver blade impaled into his shoulder, smears of crimson spew out of his cut staining his uniform.
"You aren't heroes you don't have the right to be called that. Both of you are nothing but fakes." Firmly, Stain dictates.
"Shut up villain! You damaged his spine and paralysed him from the waist down! He's never going to be able to work as a pro hero again! My brother was incredible, a caring person who saved many lives. Someone people looked up to. You had no right to take that away from him! He is my hero; my older brother inspired my dream so that one day I could be a pro too! I won't forgive you; I'll KILL you!" Enraged, Tenya screams, screeches at the hero killer, venom laced in his roaring tone.
"Shouldn't you be worried about saving that guy? So busy with your grudge you forgot about him. You plan on using your quirk only for yourself completely blinded by a selfish desire for revenge. You're as far away from a hero as I could imagine and that's why you'll die tonight. Goodbye child may your death bring upon a better world." Bored, the hero killer gestures over to the bloodied Native making Tenya's baby blues widen when seeing the pro slumped against the wall before raising his blade to execute Tenya.
"No please…not like this! Say whatever you want about me you're still just a criminal who hurt my brother!" Pleadingly, Tenya begs seething, slamming his teeth together, the waterfalls come crashing down as he is held down, about to be executed…
"Basil…" Sayako whispers furrowing her brow having followed the male where she finds him slouched on a water fountain, the gushing sound of water being the only sound between the two.
"Seems we've both been busy bees heheh buzz buzz." Aloofly, Basil smirks sadistically just as an explosion hits making Sayako flinch from the close call turning to see an explosion in the far distance making her eyes dilate in horror while Bails simply smiles seeing the Nomu's run rampant.
"Basil it isn't safe here you should get to safety." Sternly, Sayako tells him earning a small chuckle from the boy bowing his head to her.
"Look at you acting all high and mighty, is that what the title hero gives you? Heh looking out for me even now, even if we're on different sides you really are one of them now aren't you?" Disappointed, Basil smiles completely confident despite the no man's land the two find themselves in as he leans into the plush pillow of his palm.
"Basil please you're not well…" Gently, Sayako steps forward noting his yellow turn to blue once more.
"I've never been well the only time I felt well was with you." Whimpering, Basil's voice cracks making Sayako's eyes soften.
"Basil…" Sayako whispers slowly but surely making her way over to him.
"You made me feel normal Sayako you didn't care about my twitches, about my swings, you were patient, you, Hikaru, Kazz, you three were like family to me. I would have killed myself long ago if I hadn't met you." Basil confesses to Sayako making her greens widen when hearing his words.
"And you think they'd be happy to see you like this? They would want you home back home, back with dad, back with Hikaru…" Gently, Sayako kneels down, his glassy blues meeting her glassy green.
"I…you saw what I did to you." Whimpering, he bows his head curling in on him as she notes some scales dropping down, moulting even.
"Basil that wasn't your fault you had a twitch that was all." She places her hand on his shoulders only for his eyes to flare up raw red.
"That twitch nearly killed you, that's all I do, I poison people my toxins are the only thing I'm good for!" Furious, Basil bellows, snarling, snapping his feral fangs at her. She steps back when seeing the bloodied blade in his grasp, rusted, noting his body shaking, shuddering, his head twitching.
"They're hurting you up there." Sayako points out.
"You don't think I know that you think I don't feel like?!" Seething, he slams his hand into his head.
"Basil stop!" Sayako calls out to him horrified as his crimson claws dig deep into his scalp as he begins beating, hitting himself, the tears freely falling. Sayako stares having no clue what to say or really do, her greens darting from side to side only for them to widen when she takes in the place, a part of her having pondered why bring her here but now…
"Hey remember when Kazz would be busy with work so we'd wander around this place, I wanted to play videogames and you wanted to see the pet shop!" Smiling, Sayako offers Basil whose raw reds dimmer down like a flickering flame to a calm yellow at the memory.
"I was kicked out." Basil bows his head, his eyes flickering to blue.
"You were eyeing the chicks; you even licked your lips." Cheekily, Sayako smiles gently reaching out to him.
"I wanted to smell them." Meekly, he whispers flinching from her touch but does nothing as a still silence lingers in the air.
"Then you ate one." Sayako whispers lowly but surely removing his hands from his head.
"I remember when I climbed into the claw machine, so you'd get that plush you wanted. Do you still have it?" Chuckling, Basil bashfully bows his head before looking up at her hopeful as her eyes narrow at the memory.
"I….Basil you're more than that please if you would just…" Swiftly, she lies having no clue only then for them both to perk up at the buzz of her phone.
"Seems your services are needed." Softly, Basil whispers revealing said phone with a location from Midoriya.
"Basil please…" Pleadingly, Sayako whispers wanting to help him only to gasp when he chucks her phone over which she swiftly catches it.
"Relax I'm not going to ask you to choose between me and them, the answer is clear." Dejected, he steps back.
"Basil!" Sayako reaches out to him but…
"Villain!" Surprised, she gasps when she is pushed back as a fiery flame is thrown his way.
"No!" She cries out but as the flames flicker out, his hoodie drops down revealing his scarred scaled torso, tattoo of a zero inked upon his chest, making her heart drop at the sad sight, revealing his scars, his small slits, his burns bare to the world.
"He's a mutant! Take this you freak!" One of the sidekicks call out.
"Stop!" She cries out only to be tugged back by a sidekick.
"Sayako?" Shocked, her eyes widen when she reels her fist back only for it to be swiftly caught as her green meet a pair of blue and black.
"Shoto?" She blurts out stunned.
"Oh it's you." Disappointed, Endeavour approaches her as she scowls.
"Oh for…why is it whenever you show up, shit turns worse why do you have that effect on people?" Poisonously, she sneers scowling up at Endeavour as Shoto releases his hands off her.
"Excuse you?" Endeavor furrows his brow.
"He wasn't attacking anyone!" Angrily, she argues.
"He's a villain!"
"Not to mention a mutant!"
"And you wonder why you lot are going to stay sidekick?" She sneers at the group gaping at her.
"What was that?" They roar but she brushes them off.
"The hero killer should be hunting bastards like you." Coldly, she snaps at Endeavor making his blues widen when hearing her words, her glassy green glaring up into his blues before brushing past the group and heading off, storming off.
"Wait don't…stop it. Get away!" Horrified, Midoriya cries out screaming to the high heavens as the blade descends down upon Tenya but the swift fiery flames spewing out making Stain lunge back from the blast where the flames flicker out it, reveals two familiar figures one with heterochromia the other with green glaring at the sight before her.
"Someone else to get in my way. Today's been full of distractions…" Tutting, Stain sneers slamming his hand down on the ground as he glares at the two before him.
"Midoriya you need to give more detail in times like this. I was almost too late to stop this guy." Todoroki calls out as Sayako silently shows her phone revealing Midoriya's location.
"You too Todoroki? How did you get here?" Stunned, Tenya questions.
"I knew you two were idiots but this is a whole new level." Sighing, Sayako slumps her shoulders.
"Sayako?" Surprised, Tenya whispers his voice cracking when seeing her.
"Someone had to stop your stupid ass you didn't think I'd just stand by did you?" Angrily, Sayako snaps at Tenya who gapes up at her having no words.
"Hold on you're using your left side!" Midoriya gasps.
"Someone kept nagging at me to use it." Bitterly, Todoroki gives the stink eye to a certain seamstress, placing her hands behind her head, whistling cheekily.
I wouldn't exactly use nag you know." Huffing, Sayako gives Todoroki the stink eye making him sigh.
"Still if it wasn't for Sayako filling in me when she got the text as well, we worked it out and came here. Sayako's threads came in handy." Honestly, Todoroki confesses, the two having gotten lost if Sayako hadn't recommend they'd go topside to find them easier, if he hadn't gone after her who knows what would have happened.
"The pros will be here soon, the best we can do is distract Stain at the least." Sternly, Sayako explains to the group.
"You're just as they said you were but you won't be taking any more lives hero killer." Todoroki glares daggers at Stain.
"Todoroki, Sayako you can't let that guy get your blood I…I think he controls his enemies' actions by swallowing it. That's how he got us." Wincing, Midoriya confesses to the two.
"So…he's sort of a vampire ninja hybrid." Sayako blurts out.
"Could you take this seriously?" Strictly, Shoto snaps scowling at her, irritation laced in his tone trying to remain calm, composed, curt even.
"I am. We just have to make sure he doesn't take our blood." Sayako concludes shrugging her shoulders.
"That explains the blades all we got to do is keep our distance, Sayako can you cover for me?" Todoroki turns to her.
"Yeah…" Sayako nods her head only for their eyes to widen when…
"You have good friends Ingenium, or you did!" Deranged, Stein cackles leaping up high into the air about to pounce on them both. Sayako draws out her knife when seeing his blade reeled back about to swipe at them both, whether that be slitting the throat or their face who knew with the lunatic all they knew was that they couldn't let that happen. Swiftly, Todoroki slams his foot to the ground, a spear of ice taking the hit for them.
"Just stop it…why are you doing this? His fight is with me! I…inherited my brother's name I'm the one who should stop him, the hero killer is mine!" Manically, Tenya wails at the three, tears freely flowing as Sayako approaches him, kneeling down. The sharp slap of air echoes throughout the alleyway as Tenya gapes, wincing when feeling the sharp sting to his cheek. His blurry blues meet a pair of stone cold green.
"Oh shut up! Am I going to have a talk with every classmate, Tenya for once in your life get your head out of your god damn ass and think! This isn't just about you, this isn't the Tenya talk show, Stain has killed other people outside your brother. Yes what happened to Tensei is horrible but Tensei wouldn't want you doing this!" Truthfully, Sayako states the fact of the matter to the teary eyed Tenya.
"You don't know him!" Hurt, Tenya snarls tasting a bit of iron in his mouth but she simply scowls at him, disappointed almost.
"I may not but I know as a older sibling I wouldn't want Hikaru to go down this path that you're going down on I'd want him to accomplish his dream, to be happy not have to bury an early grave for my baby brother!" Sayako snaps at him, tears threatening to fall in her glassy greens shocking Tenya never having seen such pain, such anguish, such sympathy for him.
"Sayako…" Softly, Tenya whispers as Sayako places her hand on his ruby red cheek making him wince briefly but his blues remain firm on hers.
"So here's what you can do, we can do all the talk about feelings and crap later on when we're not dead but for now the best thing you can do two things, one is shut up and fight! Or shut up and stay down, both of them have one thing in common and that's shut the fuck up Tenya! Shit!" Sharply, Sayako snaps at him before standing up and joining Todoroki's side once more. Stein lunges at Todoroki only for Sayako to swipe in retaliation, her blade bashing against his own.
"You sure do talk a lot." Stain smirks sadistically.
"Oh shut up!" Sayako snaps raising her foot, kneeing him in the face making him hiss, recoiling his head back as she swiftly grabs his arm, hearing the swift snap of bone.
"Argh!" Stain recoils back cradling his bruised wrist.
"What did you do?" Stunned, Midoriya squeaks out.
"Break his wrist." Casually, Sayako shrugs unaware of the look of horror from the morbid answer delivered so causally.
"You know how to break arms?" Alarmed, Midoriya whimpers anxiously.
"Close combat training don't you?" Confused, she quirks her head to the side turning from Midoriya to Todoroki.
"No." Todoroki answers.
"Look those knives are his main weapon if we can just break his arms that could work now does anyone else know how to break his arms?" Irritated, she explains to them stretching her arms out towards her classmates only to be met by still silence.
"God damn it guys." Sayako sighs facepalming at her moronic friends.
"You're pretty good kid, haven't seen someone dodge my attacks like this in a decade but not good enough." Amused, Stain smirks sadistically at the girl as they share blows, their ears ringing when hearing the heavy ring of metal as sparks spew out of their blades, him bringing another to the knife fight making Sayako curse as she tries to dodge both blades.
"Sayako dodge!" Todoroki calls out to her making her gasp, turning her head narrowly missing the fiery flames sprouting at Stain only to cry out when…
"Shit!" Sayako curses as during that brief moment of distraction, she feels the searing sensation down below, feeling her body turn rigid. Her greens glare into a pair of raw red, smirking sadistically down at her as she sees the dagger impaled into her side.
"Sayako!" Her ears ring when she hears the concerned chorus only to gasp when suddenly, she slides down a bumpy slope of ice.
"You okay?" Todoroki asks once he then slams his foot down on the floor, a shield of ice forming as his blue and black meet her tired green.
"Just…peachy." Bitterly, she seethes, feeling her body pinned paralysed to the floor, her fingertips digging deep into the ground below as next thing she knew, the barrier of ice is swiftly slashed aside by a familiar knife wielding maniac.
"You blocked your own field of vision against an opponent whose faster than you rookie mistake." Stain smirks.
"Come get me then!" Todoroki challenged only to grunt when finding his flame side of his arm having been impaled by throwing knifes.
"You're good kid unlike him." Impressed, Stain acknowledges as Todoroki looks up to see Stain blade in hand hovering above Todoroki about to strike him down or so Todoroki thought.
"Watch out!" Todoroki turns to Native having caught on only for their eyes to widen when Native is suddenly flung to the side.
"Sayako you can control your threads?" Shocked, Midoriya gasps.
"Seems so." Hoarsely, Sayako notes grimacing.
"Midoriya!" Todoroki gasps as the others watch as Midoriya dives at the hero killer grabbing him and dragging him through the wall above.
"I'm not sure why but I'm able to move now." Midoriya tells the others.
"So he has a time limit." Todoroki deduces.
"No…that kid should have been the last one to be freed. I still can't move a muscle." Groaning, Native whispers out.
"Midoriya dodge!" Todoroki calls out after Stain elbows Midoriya in the face causing them to come crashing down to the ground once more where on Todoroki's command, Midoriya lunges out of the way for Todoroki's ice but Stein dodges as Midoriya joins Todoroki and Sayako's side. Sayako pinned to the ground while Todoroki clutches his bleeding arm, having had the blade removed but the red river remains slithering, sliding down his arm.
"He swallows a blood to freeze them but I was freed first I've got three different guesses why his quirk could be less effective the more people he uses it on or it could be a difference based on the person's blood type…" Midoriya theorises to Todoroki and Sayako.
If it's the last one my blood type is B." Native reveals.
"I'm…type A." Tenya adds.
"Sayako?" Midoriya turns to her.
"How the fuck would I know?" Frustrated, she snaps.
"Sayako!" Sternly, Shoto snaps at her.
"Urgh…I think…AB?" Annoyed, Sayako sighs.
"So you figured it out, bravo. Very impressive." Impressed, Stain smirks.
"It doesn't really help us much knowing how his quirk works though." Midoriya sighs.
"I thought we could hurry and carry those three away but it's no good. He's too fast he can dodge both ice and fire I'll have to leave myself unguarded." Todoroki tells them.
"Not necessarily. Look if worse comes to worse I'll fling you guys back with my threads." Sayako states.
"But what about you? Concerned, Midoriya argues.
"I'll be fine. The best thing we can do is buy time and avoid close combat against the guy. You guys can go get help while I'll try to keep him restrained at the least." Sayako explains to them.
"If he doesn't finish you off." Todoroki frowns.
"Okay negative nancy we don't need that attitude right now." Huffing, Sayako grumbles.
"Be serious Sayako!" Sternly, Shoto snaps at Sayako who rolls her eyes noting his aggravation.
"No I'm not leaving you. You've saved me more times than I can count besides we wouldn't make it far, I know Todoroki's already lost way too much blood I'll distract him while Todoroki you support me from behind sound like a plan?" Midoriya argues making Sayako sigh.
"Midoriya…you idiots." Sayako sighs closing her eyes as her eyes open, a blazing blue soon filtering in.
"Sayako…" Midoriya notices her eye.
"I can at the least predict his slash movements for you guys albeit temporality." She warns the two.
"You want us to take a pretty big risk okay. We can protect him." Todoroki dictates.
"Two against one huh this fight won't be easy." Oblivious, Stain sneers.
"You have to run…I can't watch this…" Tearful, Tenya whispers making Sayako's eyes narrow.
"And when has what you can't watch mattered. This is so much more than just you Tenya, this is bigger than all of us! So stop cowering, bite your lip and fight be the hero your brother wanted you to be. He gave you his title for a reason didn't he?" Scowling, Sayako reminds Tenya trying to focus on the task at hand just as the two strike, mainly Midoriya who lunges at Stain while Todoroki sends out spikes upon spikes of ice at the hero killer. Midoriya uses said ice as pillars, platforms to bounce off of to avoid the strikes from the hero killer as Sayako calls out to both boys, telling them where to go and where to avoid, focusing on the task at hand. Helpless Ida watches on, tears freely falling from his glassy blues.
"Be the hero he wanted you to be! Stand up and be Ingenium!" Todoroki roars slamming his foot down as another wave of ice hits Stain or tries to. But Stain smoothly dodges as the fight wages on between heroes and hero killer.
"I am Ingenium and I will defeat you that I promise. Can I call myself a hero? My friends are protecting me, they're bleeding for me." Miserably, Tenya closes his eyes pained, the tears freely flowing as he hears Sayako screaming at them where to go, giving orders. Slowly, he opens his eyes watching on as his friends fight for their life, seeing Midoriya leap from each and every pillar platform of ice dodging Stain's strikes courtesy of Sayako's advice.
"Shouldn't you be worrying about saving that guy?" Stain points towards Native.
"Stain the hero killer. I took my brother's name so I could teach this villain a lesson. I was so consumed with revenge that I forgot about what really mattered. I was too focused on myself to help anyone else, Sayako…she…reached out to me, she tried to help me and I pushed her away and now, she, Todoroki, Midoriya they are all here bleeding, fighting for their lives thanks to me…" Upset, Tenya bows his head ashamed.
"You want to be a hero too Tenya?" Tensei smiles at his little brother putting his armour away.
"Yes like you!" Happily, the younger Tenya smiles performing his robo chops.
"With robot arms?" Teasingly, Tensei teases him.
"There's something I wanted to ask you big brother what drives you? What drove to becoming a pro hero in the first place?" Perplexed, the young Tenya questions his brother.
"Hm. Well our grandfather was one so everyone probably expected I would be one too, staying in the family business and all that. Plus…I think the coolest people in the world are those that do things for others I want to be the type of guy to help those in trouble." Tensei confesses to his brother gesturing for his brother to pass him his helmet which he happily does.
"Then why not work as a police officer or something?" Confused, Tenya furrows his brow.
"Aren't you listening to me? Think about what I'm saying. You take things at face value way to much but you're a hard worker and defiantly smarter and more athletic than me back when I was a kid. Wait a second that's my secret knowing that you look up to me makes me feel better. I have to be sure I make you proud." Brightly, Tensei smiles at his little brother.
"Both of you are nothing but fakes…" Stain sneers snapping Tenya out it returning to reality from memory lane.
"You spoke the truth hero killer Stain these three are different from me." Miserably, Tenya bows his head at the sad truth.
"Watch your right!" Sayako calls out.
"On it!" Midoriya nods propelling forward using the flat of his boots to push himself away from Stain's strikes.
"Even on the ground she still fights, even when pinned, paralysed to the ground, she keeps on fighting, they all do. I'm immature I can't hold a candle to them. But still…" Tenya's blues begin to water when watching the fight seeing her shouting commands to Todoroki and Midoriya, pinned to the ground.
"Ice and fire has anyone ever told you, you rely on your quirk too much? Makes you a careless fighter?" Smirking, Stain chuckles as he dives forward, drawing out his blade, ignoring the fiery flames and ice sent his way.
"Todoroki!" Midoriya cries concerned only for both their eyes to widen when Stain smoothly leaps over Todoroki alarming all of them.
"Wait…he…where is he…Sayako!" Shoto cries out as her eyes widen when her blazing blue looks up at the sheer sight of Stain looming over her.
"Shit"! She hisses glaring up at him.
"You think I didn't notice your little eye flaring up, telling them where to dodge, where to go, heh, a pretty cool quirk shame it never got to reach its full potential!" Poisonously, Stein sneers, smirking, grinning from ear to ear as he raises the blade to the high heavens towards the pinned paralysed Sayako.
"Rescpiral burst!" Shocked, Sayako's eyes widen when she hears the familiar voice watching stunned as he slams his foot into Stain's side.
"Tenya!" Relieved, Midoriya smiles as Stain is thrown to the other side far from Sayako.
"Todoroki, Midoriya, Sayako this fight has nothing to do with you I apologise." Tenya begins turning to his friends.
"Tenya for the last time…" Exasperated, Sayako sighs.
"I'm okay but I won't let you three shed any more blood for me." Tenya cuts Sayako off.
"Crap." Sayako curses feeling a familiar sharp sting to her head as the blazing blue light flickers out from losing her eyes.
"It's no use pretending to be a hero now. A person's true nature doesn't change within a few minutes its nothing but a fraud who prioritises their own desires. You're the sickness that has infected society and ruined the name hero. Someone must teach you a lesson." Stain sneers scowling at the children before him.
"You're a fundamentalist lunatic Ida don't listen to this murderous nonsense!" Todoroki tells him.
"No he's completely correct. I have no right to call myself a hero." Tenya exclaims surprising them.
"Tenya…" Softly, Sayako whispers.
"But eve so…there's no way I can back down! If I give up now then the name ingenium will die!" Dutifully, Tenya declares.
"Pathetic!" Stein sneers scowling at the trio.
"Idiots the hero killer is only after me and the kid with the white armour just get out of here!" Native scowls at them.
"I don't think he'd let me run even if I wanted to. Something clearly changed in him just now." Todoroki notes firing his flames at Stein trying to keep him back.
"Hey Todoroki can you regulate your temperatures?" Tenya asks him.
"Not well with my left but yes I can." Todoroki answers.
"You got to freeze my leg for me without plugging the exhaust!" Earnestly, Tenya tells him.
"You're in the way!" Stein snarls striking at Tenya, his throwing daggers impaled into Tenya's arms making him cry out falling flat to the ground from the blades pinning him down.
"Tenya!" Sayako cries out.
"Why won't you stay down?" Fed up, Stain roars slamming against his back.
"Ida!" Midoriya cries out as Sayako watches Tenya shakily reaches his neck out, biting down on his bloodied blades, drawing out the blades.
"Just do it now!" Ida roars at them.
"But…" Todoroki furrows his brow glancing between Stein and Tenya only for their eyes to widen when she slowly stands.
"Do it Todoroki I'll hold him off!" Sayako cradles her torso slowly standing.
"Sayako…" Tenya whispers as the others eyes widen when watching Sayako pry the bloodied blade out of her torso, grimacing briefly.
"Sayako you shouldn't…!" Midoriya begins.
"I'm the only one trained in knife combat, just make sure you guys get this done." Sternly, she tells the trio brushing past them as she flicks her wrist, attaching a small stray fibre to the roof.
"Right be careful!" Tenya tells her.
"Won't make any promises." She sighs slumping her shoulders before propelling herself forwards, rushing up the wall where sparks fly between both hero killer and hero.
"Your reflexes are good." Stain smirks approvingly as both their blades clash against one another.
"I had a good teacher!" Sayako snarls slamming her head into his head making him crane his neck back shocked.
"Sayako!" Todoroki calls out to her as she sees the ice encased foot of Tenya.
"Right!" Sayako nods using the opening to leap out of their while the stunned stein is open for an attack. She then grabs hold of the pole he was once perched upon, swinging herself upon it.
"Reicpiural extreme!" She hears Tenya roar brushing past her, his beady blues meeting her own green.
"You can do it." Softly, she smiles as she passes both boys, settling upon the perch where she watches on as both boys, both Tenya and Midoriya deal with the finishing blows with Tenya's foot and Midoriya's fist, the fight is over and Sayako closes her eyes relieved, it's over, it's finally over…
