"So how is he?" Gently, Kazz questions leaning against the snow-white walls of the hospital, his brow furrowed at the many men and women, children and elderly running rampant throughout the hallways. He places his hand flat on the phone trying to listen to Kiyoko, ignoring his heartbreak when hearing the children cry, wanting to know where their parents are as the nurses and staff on hand try to help those who had evacuated here.
"He's fine." Kazz sighs relieved from Kiyoko's words, glancing over at the crowd staring worriedly at the winged Nomu circling the hospital making his eyes narrow at the sight of the creature, recognizing it all too well. He sees the tv try to give a messy report of the Nomu's running rampant through Hosu city.
"Thanks again for looking after him under short notice." Apologetic, Kazz sighs slumping his shoulders feeling a wave of guilt wash over him only for his eyes to widen when seeing two men shouting, screaming, arguing making him grimace, trying to zone them out for this singular moment to just…speak to his family, to know they are safe, to know…they are far from this.
"Hey you and Sayako have enough on your plate how are you?" Kiyoko reasons making him sigh.
"It's not easy but someone has to do it." Tightly, Kazz smiles strained.
"You didn't answer my question Kazz. Hm? What is it? Alright, alright I'm passing you over to Hikaru." Surprised, Kazz's eyes widen when hearing her hushed whispers, hearing the phone be passed over as he furrows his brow glancing up at the clock, he should be asleep by now, of course she'd let him stay up.
"Hikaru hey sweetie how are you?" Softly, Kazz smiles warmly welcoming his son.
"I'm fine, how's work?" Meekly, Hikaru questions his voice clearly concerned making Kazz sigh.
"Eh you know how it is tell you what how about I bring back some lollipops for ya when I get back?" Optimistically, Kazz offers softly smiling, his heart aching when seeing the children clinging to their mother and father's side, some just wandering looking for their parents during this chaotic time. Gently, he kneels down stopping a child aimlessly wandering when seeing a rushed stretcher zoom in, lightly pulling the child back before being hit by the stretcher.
"Strawberry flavoured ones?" Hopeful, Hikaru asks bringing a small smile to Kazz lips as he gestures for one of the nurses, Yuki who smiles and takes the child from him.
"I'll make sure." Sweetly, he smiles at Yuki who smiles back, a faint ruby red tint to her cheeks before taking the child away. A sweet youth, Kazz notices having recalled Yuki recognising him having brought a wave of fear only to falter when she says how unfair it all was for everything to eb stripped of him how admirable it was for him to go down his career it relieved him to know people still believed in him, then again. It was a relief most didn't recognises him and just let him treat them.
"Okay…dad but are you okay? Hosu hospital is on TV, there's a lot of monsters dad." Worried, Hikaru points out as he notes the worry in his tone making Kazz furrow his brow. He didn't wish to worry Hikaru, he didn't want that for his son but this world he wanted for his children, he had to help combat against such crisis.
"I'm fine Hikaru I promise." Confidently, he promises before turning back to the feuding scowling as he slams his foot to the ground, glaring at the two adults turning to face him, his still silent glare swiftly silencing them both. they come crashing down to their seats, their tails between their legs making Kazz sigh turning back to the phone.
"What about Sayako didn't she have to go to Hosu for some program?" Perplexed, Hikaru points out making Kazz's eyes widen, his hand claps over his mouth. Shit! He forgot work study! He forgot all about it, no, no, no panic flows through Kazz's veins flooding through his tubes, feeling his hammering heart drop dead to the ground shattering, scattering, splintering almost at the news, feeling a wave of dread, fear and paranoia course through him. She barely held her own during the USJ with the Nomu's and she only had to deal with one how could she withstand against four!?
"She…Hikaru I need to go. You be good for daddy okay?" Quickly, Kazz tells him trying to keep his tone calm, comforting his son.
"Dad? You'll come back right? You and Say?" Hikaru asks making Kazz falter a still silence in the air.
"We'll come back even if it means dragging her you be good now yeah? Stay strong love you sweetheart." Determined, Kazz promises his little boy.
"Love you too dad." Hikaru smiles softly at him as the phone line goes dead and he returns the phone to the wall where he then turns to see a busy stressed looking Akihiko rush down the hallway.
"Akihiko." Urgently, Kazz places his hands on Akihiko's shoulder.
"Yes sir?" Astonished, Akihiko turns to look up at his superior.
"I have business to attend to cover me." Sternly, he commands Akihiko as he heads into the hallway, nurses and patients stopping him acting as hurdles as he quickly handles them.
"C-Cover? Sir you can't go out there! It's suicide!" Scared, Akihiko chases after him watching dumbstruck as Akihiko rushes to his officer handing anyone in his way.
"There are still people out there who need help, who could be trapped for all we know." Kazz enters his office, sliding open the door to approach his desk.
"Leave that to the heroes sir!" Pleadingly, Akihiko begs his eyes widening when seeing him reach towards the sheath leant against the desk, placing it on the back of his back, strapping it on.
"The heroes won't make it on time I'm trusting you with this Akihiko you and Yuki together." Truthfully, Kazz explains as he leans down making a quick note on his desk before looking over at the framed photo of himself beaming brightly, placing a birthday cake down for a young baby Hikaru sat at his chair, his eyes sparkling at the unicorn cake where a smirking Sayako leans over the table, giving the camera a peace sign. He smiles, a small soft smile at the sight, seeing him behind the birthday boy while holding the camera is…heh he always did say he had an eye for composition.
"Kazz! What about the hospital? What about that thing outside?" Panicked, Akihiko argues gesturing to the creature as Kazz peers out his window, his eyes narrowing at the creature approaching the hospital, swooping down taunting the people, scaring the patients within.
"I'll deal with it. I trust you can care for the people here." Calmly, Kazz assumes as he brushes past Akihiko, his ponytail wafting in the wind.
"I…yes sir." Meekly, Akihiko whispers watching on helpless as his superior leaves his office, Akihiko glances over at the framed photo seeing the happy family, making him sigh lurching his shoulders at his superior, heading up to the rooftop…
Silently, Kazz gazes out at the burning flickering flames of Hosu city, his hands shoved into his pocket as he removes them, taking off his glasses, he gets out a handkerchief, a fine one with the initials K and T in italics. He cleans his glasses, feeling the heat blister in the day seeing the debris float in the air making him sigh shakily, seeing the Nomu glance over at him then roar, charging at him.
Softly, the swift snap echoes throughout the air as a wave of blue emits from his blue eye, creating a small glare from his glasses. But he brushes it aside as he whispers float. Casually, he simply steps forward off the rooftop, walking through air towards the creature before landing on its frozen back, where he swiftly snaps his fingertips, ceasing the blue aura as the Nomu's piercing screech echoes but the creature's cries are swiftly stunned when Kazz takes out small implements, impaling them into the Nomu's brain. Horrified, the Nomu cries out in agony, crimson stains smear across Kazz's cheeks. But he remains unfazed, beginning to move the metal poles about, taking note of the creature jerking its wings from left to right swiftly taking note of the method of moment.
"Don't worry Sayako daddy's coming…" Kazz whispers furrowing his brow as with some simple strike, the creature roars heading into the city of fire and flames…
