When they're together like this, everything is perfect. Their facades strain then shatters into so many pieces they can never be repaired again. There is no need for pretense, no need for anything but the arms holding them close; arms that anchor them in the fierce storm of their lives. The glory of skin against skin; legs intertwined to the point of no return. Pale and tan flesh so blended that it was impossible to tell them apart. Lips rested against shoulders and foreheads. Their breath blew across heated flesh; the blanket was a mere formality since they were warm enough on their own.
No words could have described the warmth, security and unconditional love they felt when wrapped together. They didn't bother trying. Lips pressed soft kisses were pressed to exposed flesh then smiled fondly. It said enough.
