"What are you doing?" Shinso's eyes narrow noting as the two wander through the combat ground her fingertips flexing, fidgeting.
"I'm shifting my threads through my fingertips that way I can detect when Aizawa gets near." Calmly, she tells Shinso.
"It'll stop then." Shinso gathers.
"Right. And if he is close by Shinso you'll use your cloth to find the exit while I distract Aizawa." Sternly, Sayako reminds Shinso the plan making him furrow his brow from her words, from the plan having been drilled into his skull time and time again.
"Scout from the rooftop then?" Shinso offers an alternate route trying to say something only to furrow his brow from Sayako's sharp scowl.
"No. There's no doubt he's scouting there as we speak it's best to stick to the walls, the alleyways maybe inside the houses if you can, use your cloth to swing inside sneak in make sure you don't get noticed." Firmly, Sayako elaborates.
"You think you can take him on for that long?" Skeptical, Shinso furrows his brow.
"It's the best shot we have besides I'm the only one who can confidently use a knife." Sayako places her hand on her knife holster.
"You truly think he'll use his knife?" Warily, Shinso furrows his brow at the thought he didn't use it against Todoroki and Momo, Shinso recalled.
"Who knows what he'll use…what matters is you finding the exit if I can use my threads to capture him that's great but unlikely." Honestly, Sayako confesses to Shinso nodding his head in understanding.
"It's still a possibility." Shinso offers.
"That doesn't mean you should slack understand?" Sternly, she snaps making Shinso furrow his brow.
"I know I'm a ball and chain to you but I can..." Shinso tells her.
"You can what Shinso? With one look he renders your quirk useless and that's not even going into how he's trained you too he knows your moves." Impatiently, Sayako snaps at him making Shinso flinch from her words before furrowing his brow.
"He also knows yours. Look I get it you have more experience but I'm not useless." Defensively, he bites back making her eye twitch.
"I'm not saying you are fighting isn't the only way to be useful Shinso…" Sighing, Sayako slumps her shoulders only then for her eyes to dilate in horror when feeling the threads in her hand loosen, going lax.
"Are you two done talking now?" Surprised, the two jolt up at the voice looking up to see Aizawa dangling down from the cable.
"Shit! Shinso!" Sayako curses as she flicks her wrist as Shinso is suddenly flung backwards.
"Sayako!" Shinso calls out concerned for her as he watches in awe shocked at her quick reflexes, his heart dropping, his blood turning ice cold when seeing Aizawa draw out his blade, clashing against Sayako's own blade.
"Go!" Sayako snaps at him.
"But…" Shinso hesitates, clearly concerned for his partner but…
"NOW SHINSO! You'll only get in the way!" Sharply, Sayako snaps at Shinso as her blade clashes with Aizawa's sparks spewing out between both blades ringing, shaking in the user's hands as he turns away from the two, bowing his head, his teeth grinding together as he flicks his wrist, flicking his binding cloth to a nearby post and flinging himself skywards, making his escape.
"Wait…they are actually using knives!?" Kaminari gawks at the screen playing out before him seeing Aizawa and Sayako exchange blows with one another, darting away from some slashes while countering a few others.
"Of course this is an exam after all." Softly, the click of heels echo making the others turn to…
"Ms Midnight!?" Mineta gushes over the woman.
"He didn't pull out his knife on us." Momo furrows her brow at the sight, panic laced in her tone.
"A interesting game Mineta let's hope we can play again sometime." Slyly, she winks at Mineta making Mineta's nose erupt with crimson.
"The knife is the weapon Sayako favours, it's a test for her." Midoriya gathers.
"Exactly. Besides Sayako isn't just Aizawa's disciple she's mine too." Midnight smiles excitedly slapping her whip to the floor making the others gasp recoiling back fearful.
"And?" Lost, Todoroki furrows his brow.
"Haven't you figured it out yet?" Midnight places her hands on her hips.
"Figured what out?" Confused, Todoroki raises a brow.
"Sayako likes pain." Mineta answers eagerly.
"Exactly Mineta." Midnight smiles proudly.
"Dude how do you know that?" Disturbed, Sero standing by Mineta's side furrows his brow down at her.
"Have you seen how crazy she is when she fights!? I mean she fought against all those villains at USJ didn't you see that gleam of madness in her eyes!? The gleam of a masochist no doubt about it…" Mineta gushes excitedly.
"Dude you're disgusting." Sero scowls down at him.
"Mineta may be vulgar but he makes a point. Sayako likes fighting, she lives for it and if anything I'm so proud of her for showing off this dominant side of her." Pleased, Midnight crosses her arms over her chest, a ruby red tint to her cheeks squealing love hearts shooting out of her.
"Too be fair it does show…Hah now I feel bad for the poor sap that ends up with her!" Kirishima jokes hands behind his back.
"That look in her eye…it was just like back then." Shinso's lilacs narrow as he stands perched upon the rooftop seeing the two engage in a fight, a shy shudder coursing down his spine, a faint ruby red tint to his cheeks when seeing Sayako's sadistic smirk, a gleam glistening in her greens.
"Did you hear Sayako's dad is a villain?"
"I hear her parents are divorcing too!
"I thought her mother died?"
"I heard they took in the son of a villain?"
"You think she knew?"
"She's a villain…"
Stunned, Shinsho stares at the smirking Sayako, reeling her crimson-coated fist back, the pupil beneath her screaming, screeching, shouting, pleading for her to stop but it falls to deaf ears as her crimson coated fist reels back for a finishing blow before being grabbed.
"He didn't know what made him do what he did. Perhaps it was the instinct that she told him about but Shinso felt his body begin to move on its own, instinct taking over as he snatched the bloodied fist, his shaking fingertips flexing around the fist, his shaking glassy purple meeting a pair of crooked green as he mouth moves and he feels his heart drop, break, shatter when seeing those eyes, those blank eyes gazing numbly at him…
"Seems your partner has a different plan." Aizawa points out as Sayako's blade clashes against Aizawa before kicking Sayako back, causing her to stagger back her eyes widening when seeing his gaze drift towards the roof.
"What are you…!?" Scowling, Sayako turns her head only to gawk at the lilac haired boy watching on.
"SHINSO THE HELL ARE YOU PLAYING AT?" Angrily, Sayako snarls snapping at Shinso seemingly snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Got you!" Aizawa flicks his wrist, his binded cloth heading straight towards Shinso only for both their eyes to widen when the fabric is grabbed by Sayako. She tugs Aizawa forward swiftly slamming her knee into his face.
"Shit!" Aizawa leaps back, cradling his bloodied bruised nose.
"Sayako!" Shinso calls out to her but…
"Go!" Sayako snaps at him.
"But… you need backup!" Shinso furrows his brow.
"I'm fine just go dammit!" Sayako roars at Shinso making him flinch back briefly before nodding his head and beginning to swing himself from rooftop to rooftop.
"So you used your fibres on my scarf when I was looking at Shinso smart." Impressed, Aizawa remarks as he recovers, brushing the shy stream of crimson to the side.
"Fortunately, I'm familiar with the material." Smugly, Sayako smirks as she once again tugs at his binding in her hands about to deliver another knee to the face only to gasp when…
"Shame you're not familiar with my tactics." Coldly, Aizawa brushes past her as she winces when feeling the binding cloth coil around her tugging forward, leaving her dangling down from the lamppost glaring down at her homeroom teacher.
"H-Huh? AH! Dammit!" Sayako curses grumbling glaring daggers down at Aizawa.
"To say I'm disappointed is an understatement of a century." Calmly, Aizawa removes his goggles.
"And your opinion matters so much to me…" Unfazed, Sayako arches a brow.
"Sayako during your battle with Stein you trusted Todoroki and Midoriya two people you met just recently and yet you've known Shinso longer have you not?" Aizawa takes out some eyedrops dripping some in his eyes as he begins his lecture making Sayako grimace glaring sharper from his words.
"Someone's done their research." Bitterly, Sayako sneers.
"Even after everything you still work on your own? I thought you told me you got better with working with people." Aizawa exclaims.
"I did…!" Defensively, Sayako argues.
"Did you? I know about your fight with the hero killer you worked well covering Tenya, Todoroki and Midoriya however you also were being a martyr again. I heard you were happy to push them back to leave you to Stain. I know you can be better than this Sayako so why can't you trust Shinso you trust Todoroki and Midoriya but not him? Don't you think you owe it to him after everything? Or are you still so scared to trust those like him?" Calmly, Aizawa explains to Sayako.
"Like him?" Sayako raises a brow confused.
"You see him as weak don't you?" Aizawa answers.
"What?" Sayako blinks baffled.
"Midoriya and Todoroki have proven to be useful allies to you, you know they can hold their own but Shinso is a different case entirely. From my research you were always the one to defend him, save him if you would, so for you to have to rely on someone who you have seen as weak…" Aizawa begins to explain.
"I…stop it I don't…just you wait my fibres will…" Fuming, Sayako scowls seething, anger laced in her tone.
"You knew it would have been better for you to go to the exit with your threads but you didn't. you doubt your partner's skill to distract me that hard or is another self sacrifice thing you want to pull? Sayako, I know those that you've trusted have hurt you but as a hero you need to rely on others aid no matter the history shared between you both, your past doesn't matter what matters is the people in harm's way." Aizawa puts the lid back on the eyedrop bottle.
"…" Silently, Sayako bows her head from his words.
"I'll leave you to think about it." Aizawa furrows his brow by the still silence of Sayako limp in the binding bound to her from as he lets out his caltrops scattering them below her before turning to the fleeting figure of Shinso, his eyes narrowing at his pupil's back watching him flee from the fight…
Those two? Are you sure?" Sceptical, Midnight furrows her brow after hearing Aizawa's request.
"Yeah certain." Aizawa places both files down on the table bare before the teachers.
"But what possibly got you to partner those two up?" Perplexed, Toshinori ponders peering over at Sayako's file furrowing his brow at the thought of the two.
"Certainly not grades." Snipe remarks.
"Its relationship." Curtly, Aizawa exclaims.
"Relationship? Ooh do I sense some romantic tension in the room? Perhaps ex's!?" Excitedly, Midnight squeals, rubbing her hands together.
"No they were friends once however good friends from what I gathered." Aizawa reports.
"Really? Sayako made no remark to me about it." Midnight crosses her arms over her chest.
"Exactly. Sayako's past is what holds her back." Aizawa reveals.
"Her past?" Perplexed, Toshinori ponders.
"The way she acts and behaves." Midnight gathers.
"They are chalk and cheese. While Sayako is loud Shinso is quiet Sayako is the more extroverted one of the two." Bored, Aizawa reports to the group.
"Heh ring any bells Eraserhead?" Teasingly, President Mic grins from ear to ear only to squeak slightly form the raw red eye flaring up.
"As I was saying…these two have history, when Shinsho brainwashed the others Sayako was the only one not brainwashed why do you think that is?" Calmly, Aizawa proposes to the teacher.
"He can only do so many at a time?" Ectoplasm shrugs.
"Maybe but the way seemed informal, as if they were familiar with one another but there seemed to be this level of iciness with one another, like there was a wall between them both." Aizawa informs the group.
"And you want to break down that wall." Toshinori gathers.
"What I want is Sayako's habits to be taken care of. She is letting the past dictate her behaviour and she can be better just as I know Shinso can be a hero they both have the potential to do so." Seriously, Aizawa tells the group.
"And you're not going to let me have a crack at them come on!" Enthusiastically, Midnight arises from her seat smiling.
"I'm afraid I'll have to insist…" Calmly, Aizawa declares twisting his wrist, flinging his scarf towards the rooftop, chasing after the fleeting figure of Shinso, swinging himself from rooftop to rooftop, his brow furrowed at the question lingering in his mind…
Sayako, Shinso what happened to you two?
