Wasp sped through the streets of Detroit, knocking into lampposts and forcing other cars off the road as he drove in the other direction.
"Autobot never take Wasp online!" Wasp yelled.
Then he rammed into a fire hydrant, causing water to gush out.
Chasing after, him were Optimus and Elita. As they were driving, Optimus was putting out fires that Wasp was making.
"I got a visual it Wasp, all right," said Optimus.
"For a bot who wants to escape, he's making it really easy to track him," said Elita.
"No kidding is making a real mess," said Optimus as he dodged another car.
Bumblebee then jumped off an overpass and landed in front of them. "What's his heading?"
"I don't think even he knows," Optimus answered.
"I think you just want to get away from us," said Elita.
Bumblebee increased his speed and drove on the wall.
"Wasp! Chill out!" Bumblebee ordered, then he jumped in front of Wasp. "We know you're not a spy. We just—"
"Bumble-bot lie!" Wasp cried out. "Wasp not listen, LALALALALA!"
He then turned around the corner where Sentinel came barrelling down towards him.
"You're mine, Wasp!" Sentinel snarled as he transformed to robot mode and leapt at Wasp, overshooting the fleeing green car and colliding with Optimus, Elita and Bumblebee.
"You're wasting time, Sentinel!" said Optimus as the four Autobots picked themselves up. "The attack on Ultra Magnus has spread chaos all over Cybertron."
"That's not really your concern Optimus," Sentinel told him.
"No, it's yours!" Optimus retorted. "You have a responsibility to our home planet."
"Not to mention a bunch of Decepticon prisoners to take to the Cybertronian stockade," Bumblebee added.
"Sentinel, will you once look at the big picture!" said Elita.
"I don't need you three glitches to tell me my job," Sentinel snapped, "Wasp knows something about that attack on Ultra Magnus, I'm sure of it."
"The same way you thought Wasp was a Decepticon spy?" Optimus asked.
"I, uh, was misinformed by bad information," said Sentinel.
"Ha! That's putting it mildly," Optimus mattered.
"No bot is innocent!" Sentinel snapped, "You of all bots should know that!"
"Is there something you want to say to me?" Optimus glared at Sentinel.
"I think you know what I mean," Sentinel replied.
"Here, I through we put the past behind us," said Elita.
Before they could say anything else, Sentinel's commlink went off.
"Jetfire to Sentinel Prime," Jetfire called through the comm, "Target Wasp is spotted heading north-north-east."
"Moving to intercept," Jetstorm added.
"Roger that, I'm on my way," Sentinel responded, then he transformed to vehicle mode and drove away.
Wasp sharply turned around a corner, skidding up the side of a building to avoid a number of cars and the jet twins' attacks.
"Stupid Autobots. Why no one leave Wasp alone? Wasp not do anything." Wasp moaned to himself when Sentinel blocked his path.
"Put it in park, Wasp!" Sentinel said, transforming to robot mode and drawing his lance.
"Sorry. Seg-bot. Wasp, no, do park. How about reverse?" said Wasp as shifting into reverse and backing away from Sentinel.
Wasp laughed to himself, but his laughter was soon cut short as Bumblebee transformed and aimed his stingers at him. Wasp then drove away but was stopped by the jet twins. Wasp turned again and found Optimus and Elita blocking his way. Looking round Wasp saw he was surrounded and transformed into robot mode.
"Wasp never go back to stockade! Never!" Wasp shouted.
"You're not going back, Wasp," Optimus spoke up, "The spying charges against you were dropped."
"Stay out of this, Optimus!" Sentinel butted in. "This is a dangerous fugitive, and I'm bringing him in."
"Back off, or Wasp will kick all your skid plates," Wasp warned, aiming his stinger at them.
"Guys, let me handle this, please?" Bumblebee spoke up.
Optimus nodded, giving his approval for Bumblebee to go ahead.
"Now take it easy, Waspy," said Bumblebee as he carefully approached Wasp. "We're not the bots your mad at. That would be Longarm. He's the one that pinned that phoney spying charge on you in the first place. I just, you know, believed him."
Wasp raised an optic ridge, looking at Bumblebee quizzically. "You want to hear the funny part?" Bumblebee continued.
"Guess who the real spy was? Can you guess? No? It's Longarm!" Bumblebee chuckled, hoping Wasp might see the humour in it. "Longarm was the spy, not you, and I fell for it can you believe—"
Bumblebee was quickly cut off as Wasp raised his stinger up to Bumblebee's face and fired; the yellow speeder ducked and quickly took cover behind Sentinel. "Hate to say it, but Sentinel got the point." Bumblebee said, "I'll feel a lot safer with Wasp behind bars."
Wasp fired another shot which Sentinel blocked with his shield.
"That's not your call to make Bumblebee," said Optimus as he blocked a shot from Wasp with his axe.
"And it's not your call to make either, Optimus," Sentinel stated arrogantly. "I am in command."
"On Cybertron, while this planet is my jurisdiction."
"This is a Cybertronian fugitive, and I'll enforce my authority as the… the uh Primer Prime."
"Did you just make that up?"
"No!"
"There's no such thing as a Primer Prime!"
"It's a real term. Look it up!"
"I'm not going to look it up!"
"Afraid I'm right?"
Wasp had stopped shooting and joined Elita and the twins as they looked back and forth at Optimus and Sentinel like it was a pin pon match. Wasp then decided that this was the perfect chance to escape and ran off, and Bumblebee was the only one who noticed.
"Uh, Guys?" Bumblebee spoke up, trying to get their attention. "Primes, Sirs?"
"It doesn't matter," said Sentinel, not paying attention to Bumblebee. "We've got a dangerous fugitive here and—"
"Uh, no, we don't," said Bumblebee.
"I thought you agreed with me?" Sentinel asked.
"I mean, he's getting away!" Bumblebee pointed.
They all turned to see Wasp was already halfway down the street when suddenly the bat-mutated creature belonging to Meltdown came out of nowhere, grabbed Wasp by his shoulders and flew up into the air.
"Thingy, put Wasp down!" Wasp yelled as it lifted him into the air.
"What in the name of Cybertron was that?" Sentinel asked.
"One of Meltdown's mutated creations," said Optimus.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Get after that… thing!" he yelled at the jet twins.
Obeying their commander's order, the twins transformed to jet mode and started to attack the bat creature.
Optimus, Elita, Bumblebee and Sentinel followed from the ground in vehicle mode but soon had to stop when they reached the end of the pier. They transformed to robot mode then Sentinel turned to face Optimus.
"If you didn't interfere, we could have nabbed him," he said.
"If YOU hadn't interfered, we could have talked him into surrendering," Optimus snapped back.
"Oh yeah, right after he slagged motormouth here," said Sentinel gesturing to Bumblebee and then turned on his comm. "Jetfire! Jetstorm! Grapple!"
The twins acted quickly and, combining together, lowered down a magnetic grapple picking Sentinel up and carrying him in pursuit of the bat freak and Wasp.
"Sentinel, wait!" Optimus called after Sentinel. "There's something you need to know first."
"Save it for the court marshal!" Sentinel called back to him before he was gone.
"We need to get to Dinobot Island fast," Optimus told Elita and Bumblebee.
"But what would one of Meltdown's creatures want with Wasp?" Bumblebee asked.
"I can guess, and I hope I'm wrong," said Optimus.
"You don't think that he's responsible?" Elita asked.
"That is exactly what afraid of."
Wasp was taken to the dormant volcano, and the creature carrying him flew him into a laboratory. The creature released him, and he rolled across the floor until he came face-to-face with Tarantulas.
"Well, look what the mutated creature dragged in," he said, smiling. "Pure Cybertronian circuitry, just what I need."
Wasp looked at him with a rather terrified expression and was unable to string two words together.
"Speechless? I have that effect on bots," he said and then turned to the bat creature, who was wearing a collar around his neck. "Now go and stand guard with the others." The bat creature snarled at him. "Do I need to remind you who's the one in charge here?"
He then pulled out the remote and pressed down on the button, and immediately the bat creature screeched in pain as the collar around its neck electrified it. It then immediately flew off down the corridor and out of sight.
"Now, let's say you, and I get better acquainted," said Tarantulas turning his eyes down at Wasp.
Meanwhile, Sentinel was flying towards Dinobot Island.
"That flying freak disappeared so on that island," Sentinel said to the twins.
"Optimus to Sentinel do not pursue to the island, repeat. Do not pursue to the island," said Optimus over the com-link. "I'll explain later."
Sentinel just ignored him and switched off his com-link.
"That does it; I'm putting a block on that cyber clown's frequency," said Sentinel. "Now, take me down there, maximum burn!"
The twins knew what would happen if they did what he said. "But Sentinel Prime, sir—"
"Don't talk! Just listen and do, and you might actually learn something!" Sentinel snarled.
The twins did what they were told and put everything they had into their thrusters. Sadly for Sentinel, the laws of physics meant that they had to fly lower, so now he was grazing across the top of the lake.
"Let me go, you numbnods!" Sentinel roared, spitting out water.
"Okay, Sentinel Prime, sir!" they said, releasing him.
This caused Sentinel to fly across the lake until he hit the beach headfirst. The twins then flew down and transformed into robot mode and watched as Sentinel tried to dig himself out.
"Should we be taking notes?" Jetfire asked, looking at his brother.
"On what not to do?" said Jetstorm.
Sentinel picked himself up and glared at them. "Will you stop driving your gears and get me a reading on that fugitive!"
"Energy signature has gone under the ground," Jetstorm reported.
"But is big power reading in centre of island," Jetfire added.
"Then what are you waiting for?" Sentinel growled. "Let's move!"
Wasp, meanwhile, was explaining his story to Tarantulas, who was only half listening as he was focusing all his effort on the computer terminal.
"So, Autobots lie to Wasp, call Wasp traitor and not traitor, but still chase Wasp," Wasp explained. "Oh, Wasp, confused."
"Sounds pretty simple to me," said Tarantulas. "The Autobots betrayed you, and now you hate them. Been there, done that."
"Spider-bot, understand Wasp?"
"Oh, you and I have quite a lot in common," he said, looking back at him.
"Spider-bot, Wasp friend?" Wasp asked.
"Hmm, something like that," he said dismissively.
Wasp then turned to the device he seemed to be fiddling with, and Tarantulas noticed his curiosity.
"Oh, like it?" he asked. "It's a transwarp generator; up until now, they've been used for intergalactic transport." He then noticed the dull expression on Wasp's faceplate. "Oh, I'm boring. You aren't I just when I was getting to the good."
"Good part? What good part?" Wasp asked.
"This good part," he said and transformed into beast mode, causing Wasp to jump back in surprise. Tarantulas then transformed back into his robot mode. "Now, don't be alarmed, my friend. This is power, power to destroy your enemies. The ultimate combination of cybernetic and organic, and it can be all yours."
Wasp looked around at some of the mutated creatures, which he had to assume were Tarantulas' earliest experiments, and they didn't exactly screen confidence.
"I admit there have been one or two hiccups, but that's how science works. You press on through failure," he said as he pulled Wasp to the transwarp generator. He then accessed the computer console and opened the chamber.
"Uh, no, thank you," said Wasp.
"You've seen how powerful my sister is, the techno-organic under Optimus Prime's command," he said. "And I will be offering this to you unless I was certain of your survival."
Wasp then reluctantly entered the chamber, and Tarantulas closed the door behind him. Tarantulas then grabbed an insect specimen, ironically a wasp, and placed it in the second transwarp generator. The generators then activate, and Wasp's screams could be heard within his generator.
"Did I mention that it might hurt a little?" Tarantulas smiled.
Sentinel and the twins had arrived at the entrance to Tarantulas' lab, which was guarded by Meltdown's mutated creations, all of whom were wearing the electoral collars.
"Right, here's the plan," said Sentinel. "Give me a few nano clicks to get into position and then create a diversion to draw them away from the entrance."
The twins nodded as Sentinel left.
"Diversion? What kind of diversion?" Firestorm asked his brother.
"He means we blow something up," said Jetstorm.
"Oh good, I'm liking diversion."
The two of them then transformed into jet mode and then began firing flames and wind down upon the creatures. They were taken completely by surprise, and the bat creature immediately began chasing Firestorm in the air.
"That's right, mutated bat creature, start following me!" Firestorm yelled.
Jetstorm then landed between the reptilian and shark creatures. "Please smile for wind cannon."
He then placed his arms together, creating a powerful tornado that caused telling Creech to smash against the cliff face. The shark creature then raised its claw and began swinging it at Jetstorm.
"Come and get me shark face," Jetstorm goaded.
He then transformed the jet mode and flew off with the shark creature chasing after him, not noticing Sentinel hiding behind a tree. Once they were gone, Sentinel rushed over towards the entrance and rolled out in front of the reptilian creature raising his lance.
"Don't move!" he said.
The reptilian creature was unconscious and couldn't move a muscle. Sentinel then tapped it with his lance, and the remaining rubble fell on top of it.
"Too fast for you, scaly," Sentinel smirked and then rushed into the entrance.
At the same time, Optimus, Elita and Bumblebee arrived on the shore of the island. The moment they were assuredly transformed into robot mode.
"Face it, Prime, there's no way Wasp will forgive me or Sentinel for sending him to the brig, which, by the way, is totally not my fault," said Bumblebee. "Longarm tricked me, not that Wasp will ever believe me."
"No, but he might forgive you if you just apologise and stop making excuses," said Optimus.
"Maybe, but that didn't exactly work with my brother, did it?" said Elita.
Optimus remained silent and activated his scanner.
"So, picking up Wasp on your scanners?" Bumblebee asked after a while
"No, but I am registering a build-up of transwarp energy," Optimus said.
"That's never good," said Bumblebee.
Sentinel entered the chamber and raised his shield and lance in caution as he looked around; soon, he spotted the transwarp chamber
"Wasp?" Sentinel wondered out loud when he heard a voice behind him.
"No, spider," said a voice behind him.
Sentinel spun around and saw Tarantulas, in his beast mode, hanging from a thread behind him.
"I-I don't know what kind of weird organic horror you are, but if Wasp is in that tin can, he's coming with me," Sentinel declared, pointing to the transwarp pod.
"Full of yourself as ever, aren't you, Sentinel," Tarantulas glared.
"Y-you know me?" said Sentinel surprised.
Tarantulas then transformed into robot mode. "I did once."
"Great, another techno-organic freak," Sentinel muttered. "And here I thought one was bad enough."
"You haven't changed one bit since the Academy, but why am I surprised," Tarantulas spat. "After all, you did toss aside anyone who would endanger your prestige, like when you convince my sister to take part in a foolhardy treasure hunt! You remember, the one with the unstable Energon cubes and the spiders!"
Sentinel's eyes widened. "Dion?"
"The name is Tarantulas, now, Sentinel," Tarantulas snarled. "As you can see, I had to take matters into my own hands after you and Optimus betrayed my sister!"
"B-but you disappeared," Sentinel stared.
"Like I was gonna stick around after I saw how you Autobot treat your so-called friends."
"I never forgave Optimus for leaving Elita behind; it was his idea, you know!"
"And I do hate Optimus, but I hate you even more," Tarantulas snarled. "Optimus, at the very least, took responsibility and tried to help my sister, but you washed your servos completely. It was your idea to go to that planet, and yet you got out squeaky clean while my sister became a test subject to be dissected."
"It's not like I wanted any of this to happen," said Sentinel. "If I had my way, I would have taken Elita offline to ease her suffering."
"You do know you're stoking up your own furnace, right?" Tarantulas glared.
Before Sentinel could say anything else, a bright green glow from a nearby generator causes attention.
"The transwarp field, it's overloading!" Tarantulas yelled.
Drew the two bots' attention to the generator.
Then transwarp generators exploded, and from the smoke, a giant wasp emerged. The wasp flew around the lab once and, in one swift movement, transformed to robot mode. It was the size of Bulkhead with purple optics and the Decepticon insigne on its chest.
"Hello, Zzeg-bot," he said.
"I-is that… thing Wasp?" Sentinal stared in disbelief.
"Wazzp not thing. Wazzp upgrade," Wasp buzzed.
"What have you done to him?" Sentinel cried in shock as he looked at the monstrous bot before him.
"Cool your crankcase. I just made him into a technorganic," said Tarantulas. "Like me and Elita."
"Zzpider-bot Wazzp friend. Make Wazzp powerful. Make Wasp Wazzpinator," Waspinator buzzed as flying into the air. He then fired his stingers which were twice as powerful as they were before, causing Sentinel to duck, and seconds later, he had a small explosion behind him.
"What can I say? It's the next big thing," Tarantulas shrugged.
"It's an abomination, just like you and Elita!" Sentinel yelled as he charged with his lance aimed at Tarantulas. "And I can't allow it. I can't allow any of it."
"So that's it, you were just slag your old pal Dion?" Tarantulas asked. "And what you going to do about Elita, you going to slag her."
"Elita can at least pass off as a normal Cybertronian, but you're a different matter," said Sentinel and then thrust his lance forward. His lance caught Tarantulas' helmet knocking it off and revealing his spider-like face. "You're not Dion, mutant freak. Dion went offline for a long time ago."
Waspinator landed heavily on the ground between him and Tarantulas. "Zzage-bot not hurt Wazzpinator's friend," Waspinator growled as he transformed to beast mode and began peppering Sentinel with stinger shots.
"Get away from me, you filthy organic!" Sentinel yelled as he shielded himself from the shots.
Tarantulas laughed as he watched. "What's the matter, Sentinel, afraid of bugs?" he asked.
Waspinator flew at Sentinel, but he managed to duck and, with a whack from his shield, sent Waspinator out of the lab and down the hallway. At the same time, Optimus, Elita and Bumblebee were making their way down, Waspinator crashed into Bumblebee, and the two of them rolled across the floor.
"Wasp?" Bumblebee gasped
Waspinator transformed to robot mode and stood up to his full height. "It Wazzpinator now, Bumble-bot."
Optimus and Elita were about to assist Bumblebee when Sentinel's yell cut through the air.
"Nooo!" he cried.
"Sentinel!"
They had just entered the lab in time to witness Tarantulas injecting her cyber venom into Sentinel as he fell to his knees.
"Let him go, Tarantulas!" said Optimus.
"Why should I Optimus?" Tarantulas snarled.
"Because I'm the one who left Elita behind, Sentinel is not to blame for what happened to Elita."
"Even after all these stellar cycles, you still try to defend this useless rust heap," Tarantulas scoffed. "Sadly for Sentinel, not as forgiving as you, something which you should know very well."
"Not that I am arguing that he doesn't have it coming, but you're going too far," said Elita.
"On the contrary, I haven't gone far enough," Tarantulas snarled.
Bumblebee, meanwhile, was trying to talk Waspinator down.
"So, uhh Wasp…inator, you look taller," said Bumblebee nervously as he compared his height with to his own. "And you can fly too; that's cool."
"Wazzpinator mega cool now thankzz to new friend," said Waspinator looking down at Bumblebee.
"Hey, speaking of friends, I just want to say sorry," said Bumblebee as sincerely as possible. "You know, for everything I did and didn't do."
Waspinatinor hesitated for a moment and then spoke. "Wazzp…forgive Bumble-bot."
Bumblebee gave a sigh of relief. "Really?"
"But Wazzpinator never forgive!" the Waspinator yelled and then blasted Bumblebee with his stingers sending him flying down the hallway. Then Waspinator began to discharge transwarp energy, much to Bumblebee's confusion. "What is happening to Wazzpinator?"
He then began flying around uncontrollably.
Meanwhile, Sentinel managed to lift himself up to look at Optimus and Elita.
"You two knew about this?" he said.
"I didn't know how to tell you," Optimus admitted.
"Well, thanks for not spoiling the surprise," Sentinel glared. "Because I wouldn't want to be, I don't know… Prepared for this or anything!"
"For your information, Optimus tried to tell you, but you cut off your com-link," said Elita folding her arms.
"I still can't understand why you stick around with the bot that turned you into a monster," said Tarantulas looking directly at Elita. "You have every right to slag the two of them."
"But Optimus came back to me and tried to help me; if he hadn't stuck his neck piece out, I would still be some sort of test subject back on Cybertron."
"More like he felt guilty about turning you into a freak and wanted to make himself feel better."
Optimus then stepped forward. "I don't deserve forgiveness, and I've never asked for it. All can do is try to fix the damage I've done for Elita's sake."
Elita then grasped his servo. "Optimus, I forgave you a while ago. You did what you had to; if you went back for me, who knows what would've happened."
Sentinel looked as if he was about a gang. "Not to ruin this romantic moment, but how about you, I don't know, help me out here!"
"Shut it," said Tarantulas, webbing his mouth shut. "As much as I'm enjoying this banter of words, I have an experiment to complete."
Then appearing within his hands were a copy of Sentinel's shield and lance; he quickly used a shield to knock Elita into the wall and thrust the spear at Optimus with enough force to knock him to the floor. He then dashed towards the door, but Optimus fired his grapple, wrapping it around his leg, causing him to trip.
"I thought you hated being part organic; why did you do the same thing to Wasp?" Optimus asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" said Tarantulas looking back at him. "If I can change him back, I can change Elita back."
"And what if he goes offline in the process like you and Elita almost did?"
"Well, that's the price of science," he shrugged.
"Zzpider-bot, not Wazzpinator friend," said a voice, and they looked up to Waspinator hovering above them. "Zzpider-bot used Wazzpinator now zzpider-bot fix Wazzpinator. Oh Wazzpinator destroy zzpider-bot!"
"His transwarp mutation is unstable. It building to critical mass," said Tarantulas.
"That kind of overload could destroy the entire island," said Elita.
Sentinel then ripped off the webbing and looked at them. "So, what's the plan?"
"Same as it always been RUN!" Optimus yelled, releasing Tarantulas.
Waspinator tried to grab Tarantulas, but he quickly transformed into his beast mode and scampered off down the corridor. Waspinator transformed into his beast mode as well and flew after him. Optimus and Elita then rushed over to Sentinel, who was still weak from the cyber venom.
"Just like old times, huh?" said Sentinel with a ghost of a grin on his face as Optimus and Elita each grabbed an arm.
Bumblebee just got back onto his feet when he saw Tarantulas rushing towards him.
"One side buzz boy, this place is going critical!" said Tarantulas running directly over him.
Bumblebee lifted himself up just in time to be struck by Waspinator as he chased after Tarantulas.
"Bumblebee!" Optimus yelled, and Bumblebee hit the deck, expecting to be run over a third time. "Help us carry him out."
Bumblebee looked up and saw Optimus and Elita walking slowly with Sentinel. He then rushed over and helped carry Sentinel outside.
"Guess it beats getting flattened a third time," he said.
Outside, the jet twins had just taken down the last two mutated creatures, who were both scorched and beaten on the ground.
"Are they look distracted to you, brother?" Jetfire asked Jetstorm.
"The slimy one still wiggles a bit," Jetstorm replied.
At that moment, Tarantulas emerged from the lab entrance, but before he could get any further, he was tackled by Waspinator, knocking him onto his back while the two of them watched in puzzlement. Waspinator flew over to him and then transformed into robot mode aiming his stingers directly at him.
"Now Wazzpinator zzquish zzpider-bot," said Waspinator.
He was ready to fire when he was suddenly hit by Optimus' axe knocking the Wasp's aim off and missing Tarantulas. Looking around the two, both of them saw Optimus, Elita, Bumblebee and Sentinel standing before them, ready to join the fight against Waspinator.
"Get away from him!" Optimus ordered.
Tarantulas then transformed into robot mode, looking at him rather perplexed. Suddenly Waspinator screamed in pain as the transwarp energy inside began to reach a critical point.
"He can't contain the energy!" Elita gasped. "He's about to blow! But maybe I can contain the blast with some webbing."
"But you'll be caught in the transwarp wave!" said Optimus.
"Do we have a choice?" she asked.
However, before she could jump in, Tarantulas beat her to the punch. He released his webbing a wrapped it p around himself and Waspinator.
"Tarantulas, no!" Elita cried.
The webbing began to contain the transwarp energy, but… If it was going to break through at any moment. The twins quickly landed next to Bumblebee and helped him carry Sentinel to safety. Reluctantly, Optimus and Elita ran as the transwarp energy began to expand and then there was a huge explosion that knocked them to the ground.
When they came to, they found that half the island had been destroyed, and there was no trace of either Tarantulas or Waspinator.
"What happened?" Bumblebee groaned.
"He sacrificed himself to save us," said Optimus, placing a hand on Elita's shoulder.
"More like he sacrificed himself to save me," Elita cried.
"I think it even more likely that he sacrificed Wasp and used his transwarp field to bug out," Sentinel grunted as he rose to his feet. Elita looked as if she wanted to say something, but Optimus stopped her. "Either way, we're rid of them both."
Sentinel then turned around and walked away without saying a single word.
Moments later, they returned to the Steelheaven, and Optimus and his team were saying their farewells to the Elite Guard as they were about to leave. Blurr had also decided to accompany them, knowing that the Elite Guard needed as much help as they to track down Shockwave.
"Thanks for everything, OP," said Jazz shaking Optimus' hand. "Sorry, we gotta split so soon. I always dig this planet."
"That is making one of you," Jetfire grinned.
"Sentinel, he's definitely not digging organic insect bots," Jetstorm snickered.
"Okay, ease off, you two. He's been through a lot," said Optimus
"Never thought I'd hear you sticking up for SP," said Jazz surprised.
"He's a good bot even if he doesn't know how to let go of a grudge," Optimus replied.
"That's enough now. I can handle my team, thank you," said Sentinel walking down the ship ramp. "NOW GET YOUR SORRY SHELLS ON BOARD DOUBLE TIME."
Jazz, Blurr and the twins made their way into the ship while Optimus team headed back to their base, leaving the three former friends alone.
Optimus looked at Sentinel. "I'm sorry I never told you about Dion." His optics then turned to Elita. "It was a private matter with Elita, and I didn't want to open old wounds. I-I guess I never really apologised for forcing you to leave Elita behind all those stellar cycles ago."
"Optimus, you were the one that trying to convince us to leave; if we had actually listened to you, none of this would have happened," said Elita.
"Yeah, I guess I'm sorry too," said Sentinel, much to their surprise. Sorry, we ever went to that stupid planet in the first place. But I think we're both too far past for apologises."
"Yeah, maybe so," Optimus agreed. "But right now, Cybertron needs a leader, and for better or worse, that leader is you."
Sentinel smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You got that right, buddy."
Sentinel began making his way onto the ship, and Optimus and Elita watched as the shuttle bay door closed.
"You think he'll ever change?" Elita asked as the Steelhaven took off.
"I don't know, but we can only hope," said Optimus.
They watched as the Steelhaven disappeared into the distance, and Elita wrapped her hand around Optimus'.
Meanwhile, in a dense jungle, Waspinator was in pieces but surprisingly was still online.
"Wazzpinator cannot go offline," Waspinato growled as he grabbed his detached and tried to put himself back together. "Wazzpinator have planzz."
Tarantulas was just a few feet away and had also regained consciousness, and the first thing he saw looking down at him was a gorilla, a cheater, a rhinoceros and a rat looking at him curiously.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding," he groaned.
