Chapter 6

Naruto is walking on the road towards the hospital dressed in his now well recognizable cloak , the cloak had a bulge towards the right that was because of Naruto's bent elbow because of the cast on his right arm.

It had been 2 weeks since the official completion of the three year old long Sasuke retrieval mission and Naruto was now almost completely healed thanks to Tsunade and Kurama , Naruto remembers the scene when they entered the village , A large crowd awaited after word got out that the kyubi Jinchuriki had captured the rouge Uchiha and the news of the return of Sharingan to Konoha had crowd display contrasting receptions .

One thing Naruto absolutely loved about this world was the fact that his close relations to damiyo had made people much softer towards him compared to pre-pain period he remembered . There was still a very large group of his haters but that too consisted of almost only naive civilians and the group was decreasing by the day .

Sasuke's abduction made that group even smaller ,The squad and specially Naruto received a loud applause when they returned along with a lot of praises . While the crowd was cheering Naruto the atmosphere changed when Kakashi walked in with Sasuke on his back .

Sasuke was at the receiving end of some slurs especially from the section of the crowd who were calling for his execution , this group mostly consisted of families of people who died or got injured in the Konoha crush . The other side demanded to keep him under observation to keep the Sharingan bloodline alive .

Sasuke had been in a coma since , Tsunade said that he suffered many internal injuries but was out of danger now and will wake up whenever his body recuperates . Naruto reached the room and opened the door to find Sakura sitting by Sasuke's bedside .

Sakura had been by Sasuke's side the most , she was almost always in the hospital for the first week switching between Naruto's and Sasuke's room whole day .

Naruto entered and when he saw the scene he thought he would feel a little jealous but a smile crept on his face surprising even him .

"Any improvement ?" He asked coming up to Sakura

"No but as shishou said it might take some time ."

"I am looking forward to and dreading the day he wakes up at the same time ."

"I know what you mean , Sasuke kun will not like being held ."

"He is staying there whether he likes it or not ." Naruto said as he turned " I'll catch you later gotta tie up some loose ends with Baachan ." he said as he took his plastered hand out to smash it on the wall breaking into pieces . "Ah that's better ." he said twisting his arm .

"BAKA ! What are you doing."

"Relax Sakura chan fox heals remember ." he said winking to her as he shunshined out of the room and on towards the Hokage tower .

Later in the day Hokage tower

"Yo Baachan ." Naruto said jumping in the window .

"What do you want Naruto ." Tsunade said still head buried in paperwork.

"Umm you might want to give your full attention for this one ." Naruto said sitting down as Tsunade put her papers and glasses down she could tell by the tone that Naruto was serious .

"Okay first of all I know that Yondaime was my father ." Naruto said in a calm tone and saw the horror spread on Tsunade's face .

"W..What how did you know ?"

"I met him and Kaachan when I opened the seal on Kurama , touchan had his and Kaachan's chakra embedded in the seal ."

"Well that does sound something Minato would do ."

"Ya and firstly right of the bat I am not keeping that a secret so make it official."

"Baka ! No way Sarutobi sensei made it a S rank secret because –"

"Yeah yeah I know because Iwagakure's problems with dad right , don't worry Baachan there are much more dangerous people after me and anyways shorty gramps know me well and even if he finds out he will talk to me first ."

"Wait how do you know Tsuchikage."

"Oh damiyo took me there with him as bodyguard and the old man and me got tight we hung around I fixed his back pain and he was happy . "

"That is until he finds out ."

" Okay hear me out I have thought a lot about this , I think what Sandaime Jiji did was necessary but his idea was to protect my identity both as the Jinchuriki and my lineage . After everyone found out the first I see no point in keeping the latter . Think about it I already have many people after me because of the fox now if shorty gramps had to kidnap me , me being a Jinchuriki would have been a much bigger motivation don't you think just like with the cloud and mom. But he did not , why because by your grandfather's rule states that attacking or abduction of other village's Jinchurikis is considered an act of war . Now cloud took a risk back then knowing they could have taken us on but after the 3rd great ninja war there is no way in hell the Tsuchikage would take such a risk or he would have ."

Tsunade thought hard about the argument , she had to admit it made sense . Kazekage is Naruto's friend , Hidden cloud have their Jinchuriki and the mist is too weak so after loosing all their tailed beasts it could have been expected that Tsuchikage would try to take one of Bee or Naruto but he has not shown any intentions knowing the retaliation he would face .

"Alright I'll think about it ."

"Oh come on you already know you're going to do it , yeah and I also want Namikaze estate and the Uzumaki clan seat on the council, I am the clan head aren't I? "

"Oi Naruto what's with all these requests ?"

Naruto sat back and smiled thinking about his parents "You know Baachan every child wants to make their parents proud , I want to do everything in their name , I want to make them proud and I want to carry the legacy and all the responsibilities they left me . " Naruto looked up at her with determined eyes

"I want everyone to know the sacrifice they made , I want them to know the fact that Kushina Uzumaki left her seat as the clan head and married the Hokage of the village in secrecy and avoided all the fame and respect only for her family , I want them to know that they died protecting everyone and took the burden on them and their baby not asking anything in return ."

Tsunade kept looking at her with a smile

"What ?"

"You know are just like your dad for a second and your mom the next ." both smiled

"Alright then you will have your legacy Naruto Namikaze Uzumaki ."

"Yosh! And yeah I need erosennin asap so drag him out of whichever hole he is in."

"Now is that the way to talk about your master ?" said Jiraiya stepping in from the window .

"Jiraiya? When did you come back ?" questioned Tsunade

"Just now , came to check up on the gaki since he got the Uchiha back and here I find him giving an emotional speech about his parents ." he said moving closer to Naruto as he put a hand on his shoulder

"So what do you need me for ?"

"Erosennin I need you to train me again I want to perfect a jutsu ."

"Huh what jutsu is it now?"

"The Flying Raijin"

1 Week later near at a waterfall just outside the border on Konoha

Hundreds of Narutos were sitting under in an open field near the waterfall with a special chakra papers and pens drawing a seal .

It has been a week since Naruto had started the training for the famous S rank jutsu Hiraishin (Flying thunder god ) and he was finding it out just why only two people have mastered it till now .

"Well that was a good batch of hotties we had there ." said Jiraiya as he walked in putting away his telescope , he watched hundreds of Narutos concentrating so hard that most of them had sweat dripping from their noses .

"YOSHAAA" the original jumped within the crowd holding the paper as he dispelled the rest of the clones .

" Oh god that was fucking taxing phew , here erosennin this looks like its the one ." he gave the paper to Jiraiya

"Hmm looks okay just like Nidaime's notes I gave you , yes it is the correct seal for Hiraishin ."

"YOSHAA! I finaly did it Touchan you see that yosh ."

"Calm down Naruto yes you made the Hiraishin seal after training with your clones for a week which means it took you around 20 odd months while that is impressive since Minato took 3 years to do it , the most important part is next ."

"Wait I thought I made the correct seal ."

"Oh this haha I can make this seal half the uzumaki's could have made this seal , hell your mother made it better than your dad but why there are only 2 people that can use it ?"

"Why?"

"Because 1st you need very high amounts of chakra reserves to pull it off which your dad and Nidaime had , good think you have even more than them but then again so did all the uzumakis but then why didn't all of them use it ? You must be thinking that right ."

"I am but I don't think will like the answer to that."

"Yes you won't because flying raijin requires exceptional chakra control , a little less and you will rip your body into half and a little more and jutsu wont work ."

Naruto's head dropped " Knew it ... Erosennin you know I'm not good at chakra control how will I ever do this."

"Naruto is you were not capable I would have never let you waste your time . It is true that you did not have the best chakra control but that was before you befriended the fox trust me I have an exercise for you that will make your chakra control to the level required to use this jutsu ."

'Oh that does make sense even in the war I never tried any chakra sensitive exercises after opening up Kurama .'

"What is that exercise erosennin ?"

Jiraiya pointed to a tall mountain with a dangerously vertical sides "Climb that."

"Oh thats easy watch me –"

"No climb that with only your fingertips by applying chakra to make you stick ."

"WHAT ?"

"And do that with hundred clones ."

"Okay you have got senile old man after making a hundred kage bunshin how am I supposed to balance my chakra se precisely I could die from falling ."

"Well youll have to if you want to use the flying raijin ."

"Aww man come on ."

1 Week later Konoha hospital

Ino opened the door to Sasuke's room with flowers in hand , she found her pink haired friend sleeping in a very uncomfortable position on a couch nearby .

She sighed because it's been a month and Sakura had almost completely cut off with the world and is always in the hospital , Ino understood her worries but it was not good for Sakura's health .

"Hey forehead " she woke her up while placing the flowers in the vase .

"Hmm" Sakura opened her eyes " What time is it ?"

"Time for you to get home"

"No Ino I need to be here when he wakes up ."

"I understand but that could take a day to months you know what Tsunade sama said , don't spoil your health in the process.

Okay am going to Tsunade sama afterwards Ill ask her to tell all the ANBUs to call you as soon as he wakes up sounds good ?"

Sakura smiled "Okay alright ." She got up from the couch and stretched then she noticed the flowers .

"Huh flowers so I guess that whole bathhouse rant was just to lower my guard huh pig , come on open up I know you still like him right ."

Ino sighs " Forehead someone needs to beat your head with a bat . What I told you was true academy was a long time ago , honestly I don't know how to feel about Sasuke seeing him again does confuse me I agree but Its nothing that makes me believe that I love him or anything ."

"Yeah sure , the flowers seem to contradict and you've been bringing them for 2 weeks , I'm not dumb Ino."

Ino developed a light blush at the remark which Sakura spotted " See you're even blushing don't lie to me pig ."

"No its not that forehead , well actually , okay fine actually someone came to my flower shop 2 weeks ago and very sweetly asked for a personal request to regularly bring flowers to Sasuke ."

"And who is that ?"

"Naruto , before he left for that secret training ."

"Wait what secret training ?"

"Oh god forehead that's why you need to get out , Naruto is mastering some secret S class forbidden jutsu ."

"Wait what ? How does he even have the permission to do such a thing ?"

"I don't know about that he , just said that he was the only one who actually had the right to learn it because its his legacy or something idk ."

Sakura was confused and thinking about what Naruto meant by that " Huh that's weird, guess we'll have to ask when he comes back ."

"Yeah ."

Meanwhile at Naruto's training spot

Naruto was now shirtless , sweating like hell and jumping up the side of the cliff at a speed , he was only using his fingers to stick on the side of the ravine and after a week of practicing which could be counted as years considering his clones, he was jumping up without a rope and with ease .

"Alright that's 4th time in this hour Erosennin I think I have the grasp of chakra control lets move on to the next – Huh what are these guys doing here ?"

Naruto climbed up to see two people with Jiraiya , both jounins one with a straw in his mouth and other with a scar on his left cheek , he recognised one better than the other due to his chunin exams .

"Naruto say hi to Genma and Raido who are part of the Hokage guard platoon ."

"Umm what are they doing here , is Baachan alright ?"

Genma spoke up "Relax Naruto she is the one who send us here on Jiraiya sama's request , well Raido I always hoped for this day to come but never thought it would be this early ."

"What do you mean ?"

Jiraiya spoke up "Hokage guard platoon that Minato had was same as Tsunade , and right now they are the only people who know how to do the flying raijin ."

"huh ...WHAT ! YOU TWO CAN DO IT ?"

Genma spoke up "Relax Naruto no need to shout , well Yondaime taught us just in case but neither of us have the chakra to do it by ourselves we need all three to do it together , But as we can see you have both "

Genma and Raido smirked " I think I finally understand that it was for this day that Minato sama taught us this jutsu , we will have the great honour of passing his jutsu to his son ." Naruto widened his eyes as Raido spoke " Yeah don't worry we have knows for a while and as Tsunade sama told us soon will everyone so , should we start Namikaze kun ."

Naruto gave them a smirk " Yosh lets do it ."

2 Weeks later Konohagakure no sato

Sakura and Ino were walking down the road towards the ANBU training ground near the Hokage mansion .

"Why has shishou called us there , aren't non ANBU not even allowed there ?"

"Well forehead I ran into Shika earlier he said its the largest ground and with Hokage's permission you can go there also he told me that they have called for every available jounin and chunin ."

"I have a bad feeling about this ." said Sakura

"I know I do too , hey btw any word from Naruto its been a month since I have seen him ?" asked Ino

Sakura made a pout on her teammate's mention "Who cares he left saying goodbye to you while he couldn't even see his teammate ."

"Jealous much ? " Ino said with a smirk

"NO! Shut up pig , its just that we have known each other for longer and now with Sasuke back ."

"Well he and I have gone closer recently what do you mean I don't matter to him as much ?"

"Okay this is the last discussion I want to have right now , looks like you were right there is everybody ."

All the jounins and chunins assembled in the large training ground , chatters could be heard all around as all the shinobis were confused with this sudden summoning , suddenly Tsunade , Kakashi , Shikaku and the three elders came on the elevated stage connecting the ground to the ANBU headquarters .

"This feels like it will be very troublesome " Shikamaru said who was standing with all the members of Konoha 11 .

"Don't be so negative Shikamaru it could be good news ." Choji remarked still snacking on a packet of chips

"Silence you two Hokage sama is starting ." Neji said

Tsunade stepped ahead of the group on stage " You must be wondering why you all were summoned here . Well in simple terms there are 2 important announcements I need to make today ."

Danzo and the elders had an angry look on their faces , he spoke up " I still think it's a bad idea Tsunade hime ."

Tsunade looked back at him , she was looking pissed " I already explained the reasoning in the council meeting , my decision is final and elder or not I am still the Hokage you have been advised not to interrupt me again ."

She turned back to the crowd

" All right as for the first announcement , There was a S rank secret that was kept by the Yondaime during the 3rd Shinobi War and carried forward by Sandaime and myself till this date , and as the Godaime Hokage I am here to call end to that motion as I believe the time is fit .

It is a public knowledge that the Yondaime hokage Namikaze Minato died during the Kyubi attack as single and unmarried , although that fact was a lie , in the aftermath of the 3rd Shinobi war Yondaime who was already in a relationship decided to marry the woman and their union was kept under the wraps due to the enemies Minato made during that time ."

The crowd gasped at this , the senior members remembered the Yondaime as a hero and one of the most beloved Hokage while youngsters looked up to him as an idol , the fact that he was married was a shock specially to the senior shinobis .

"Hokage sama does that mean Minato sama's wife has been living in hiding all along ?" One jounin asked

"No unfortunately she too died fighting the Kyubi with Minato but that is not the real secret ." Crowd was confused now , wasn't this the real secret what could be bigger than that .

Shikamaru who was still putting the puzzle pieces together suddenly gasped and his eyes widened "Troublesome"

Tsunade continued " Yes the real secret is the fact that Yondaime and that woman who was named Kushina had a son who survived the attack ."

The gasps were much louder this time almost everyone stood there eyes widened except for Shikamaru and a handful who had an idea like Kakashi , Shikaku and Inoichi .

"Y...You.. mean that Yondaime sama , our hero our savior who gave his life for us , had a child who lived without recognition all this time ?" Questioned Ino who was shocked

"Yes Ino that's exactly what I mean ."

"Why Why would Sandaime sama keep this a secret !"

"That child is son of 2 heroes he should have been celebrated !"

"This was wrong!"

Crowd started to voice their opinions and Tsunade just stood their smirking 'Yes good realize your mistakes wait till I tell you his name how you all will wet your pants'

"Silence! Everything the former Hokages and I did was for the protection of this child , but he is now strong , he needs no protection and he deserves to be recognised as you all pointed out ."

"Who is the child ?"

"I am getting to that but I hope when you find out you all remember the mistakes you made with him , That child is one of Konoha's strongest shinobi , son of 2 heroes Uzumaki Kushina and Namikaze Minato heroes who sacrificed their lives and their family by taking upon the burden of the Kyubi and that child who still carries that burden for the village , Yes his name is Uzumaki Namikaze Naruto ."

There was pin drop silence for a long time , entire Shinobi force of Konoha stood there with their eyes bulging out of the sockets . No one spoke a word this was the most shocking thing they could have hoped to hear . Everyone was having the flashbacks of times they treated Naruto in a wrong way , some were in tears while some in denial .

"Dear Kami what have I done ." One chunin finally broke the silence , slowly the crowd kept getting louder people cursing themselves some denying that it is not possible .

The Konoha 11 were in an absolute state of horror .

"N...Naruto ... He ... he's the son of the Yondaime ." Kiba broke the trance

"All this time ? After all this time ... Oh Kami what have I done ... Kami how did I treat him so bad when his family is the reason mine is alive." Sakura said who was now in tears .

"All this time we kept thinking he was just a nobody ? I mean how dumb are all of us I mean look at his face now that you think about it same eyes same face same hairs !" Ino said

"Hokage sama is this really true?" One chunin asked

"I mean how can we even believe that after all this time ? There has to be a mistake ."

"Tchh I knew there would always be some like you , that is why I first told the Shinobis before the general public hoping you had more brains .

Don't worry when next week I make this official there will be a DNA test report and if you wait for a minute I am sure you would probably not need that as well , assuming you still have a shred of intelligence ."

Just then a messenger frog popped up with a three sided kunai in his mouth which Tsunade took from him smiling .

"As I was saying " she placed the kunai in an open space and stepped back , just as she did out of nowhere Naruto appeared with Jiraiya , Genma and Raido behind him with their hands on Naruto's back . Crowd gasped at that , this was without a doubt the feared flying raijin .

"No doubt he is the one "

"That ... that was the hiraishin !"

"N..Naruto " Ino smiled looking at the blond she missed so much , tears were in the corner of her eyes now knowing how much he and his family had suffered while they deserved the opposite.

Naruto picked up the Kunai only to look at the crowd staring at him with wide eyes and some crying as if he was a god or an alien or something like that .

He sweat dropped and took a couple of steps back " Uh Baachan what's going on why is everyone looking at me wierd ."

One chunin pushed his way through the crowd and dropped on his knees and bowed " Namikaze sama I am so sorry about my behaviour please forgive me ."

Soon a few more came and bowed down in the same way , after that the entire crowd started to fire apologies at him form where they were standing .

"Oh I see" Naruto said rubbing the back of his head , then he took a deep breath and calmed down before stepping ahead .

"Look you all I see that you all know now , and first please you guys ahead stand up don't bow it feels awkward .

Yeah so as I said I get you might be feeling guilty , now while I am not going to lie my childhood was pretty shitty and it is true that some of it was because of you as well but I would also like to say that I consider that past .

I understand why you were afraid of me and the thing inside me , If I had a wife or a child I would be scared too but having said that I would like to assure you that Kyubi would never harm anyone again and we can look back and thank the real heroes who were my mom and dad ."

"Naruto we owe you our lives just as much as we owe it to Minato and Kushina , you are a hero just like your parents " Shikaku said stepping ahead putting his hand on Naruto's shoulder .

"Hai Namikaze sama we always knew that you carry that burden but we were too naive to realize it is as dangerous for you as it is for us more so infact ." One jounin from the crowd spoke up

"Yes Uzumaki Namikaze Naruto , we might be 16 years late but we thank you , you are truly a hero ." another jounin said

"YES "

"YES"

Crowd started to join and praise Naruto .

Naruto had tears in his eyes , he had already felt what it was like to be a hero after the pain attack but this was getting him more emotionally , he was finally being apologised and acknowledged for the childhood he had and the things he had suffered .

His parents especially his mother was finally acknowledged , this was all he ever wanted , he did not want to be worshipped as a hero after he became strong , he did not want to pay people back for treating him like shit or make them feel more guilty , he just wanted this , an apology and an acknowledgment of the hardships he faced.

He turned to Tsunade with a teary eyes smile and saw that she was had the same expression

" Arigato Tsunade no baachan ."

"Its alright gaki " she said rubbing her hands on his hairs , she wiped her tears before turning towards the crowd with a serious tone .

"Alright that's enough I am sure you have a lot of things to say to Naruto but in case you forgot we have another thing to discuss ."

"Is that why you called us here Tsunade ?" asked Jiraiya

"Yes , earlier today we got a message from daimyo sama."

"Huh what about jeechan ?" Naruto questioned after all he was well acquainted with the daimyo

" We just got the word from daimyo sama that water country daimyo has sent his troops into one of fire country's port town and has take the city along with the princess who was present there ."

"What ? You mean Nima chan is ?"

"Yes Naruto , princess Nima has been taken hostage , daimyo's men tried to retake the town but most of them got slaughtered ."

"What how?" Naruto questioned

Jiraiya who was reading the scroll and stepped in to explain " because the water daimyo has sent his elites and defending the town from the inside is easy for them retaking it is the hard part ."

'What is going on why is this happening , I am sure it did not happen last time ! Kurama you have any idea ?'

'Not that I can think off , things will always be different even small changes can lead up to big events so you never know what triggered it .'

'Dammit just when I thought things were going right ... Nami chan.'

"Hokage sama does that mean we are at war with the water country ?" Shikamaru asked

"It's not that simple ." said Jiraiya

"How?"

"See for that you need to understand how the nation system that is in place works , the two sections in a nation are the royal family of the daimyo that has his own ground troops which are mostly non shinobis and a special black ops unit consisting of shinobis or samurais .

Same way Konoha or the hidden village has its own army of Shinobis , neither has the power to call other army , Hokage can't call Daimyo's army and vice versa , in a state of all out war or invasion a meeting with is called with all the local lords , Hokage and Daimyo only then a nation completely comes at arms ."

"Yes and as I heard Water did invade our territory ." asked Shikamaru

Tsunade continued the explanation " That's where they were smart , you see the situation in water country is dire , recently the civil war had ended with appointment of a new Miazukage but last month we got a news that the daimyo has revolted against the hidden Mist and those two are in an internal battle , since Land of fire is its closest neighbour he must have kidnapped the princess to keep us out of it .

He was smart to only take the port town which belongs to the daimyo himself , had the mizukage been involved or had they entered the next village which is public property only then it would count as invasion.

I have sent few ANBU squad to the next village if they take a step in that direction I will retaliate with full response that's why I called to tell you to be prepared just in case."

"Yes Hokage sama you are right its not our fight but if the situation calls we are ready ."

"Yes hokage sama"

"Yes hokage sama" the crowd continued on the same page

"How many died ?" Naruto asked in a serious tone breaking the flow o the crowd

"3 units completely wiped and 2 with major losses ." Tsunade replied

"That's around 100 people " Naruto said still in a serious tone

"I know what you mean Naruto but I can't send my shinobi to –"

"I'll go " Naruto lifted his head and walked down from the stage into the crowd while everyone was silent .

"Naruto you –" Tsunade said but was cut short by Naruto

"I know Baachan you can't order anyone but anyone living in Hi No Kuni can voluntarily fight , Even if I had not sworn to protect the daimyo when I was in the special ops , I would still go .

For me it does not matter whether it is Konoha or Hi No Kuni , Hokage or Daimyo what matter to me is that foreign invaders came to my country and killed 100 of my former comrades and right now they have a person I swore to protect once , I am sorry Baachan but I have to go ."

Naruto walked through the crowd as everyone watched the cloaked man , he walked out of the crowd towards the exit but was stopped by a voice .

"I will go as well ." everyone turned to find Ino who had a smile on her with her hand raised .

"No you would not." Said Naruto " I am a member of Daimyo's black ops unit , you don't need to risk it ."

She walked up to him with a smile "Ah ah as you said its my country as well I am coming too and you cant stop me Naruto " she said with a wink .

"I'll go too " Sakura joined them

"Mee too " Kiba came in next

"Yosh Naruto kun count me in for this youthful adventure ." Lee jumps in

"How troublesome but this baka needs me what the hell ." Shikamaru joined in

"Guys really you don't need to –" Naruto tried to argue but was silenced by the crowd

"This is exactly what Minato sama would have done ." once chunin said stepping forward

"Yes we will beat those dogs back to sea "

"Yes Naruto you truly are Yondaime sama's son , we trust you to lead us we will come too ."

Soon the entire crowd surrounded Naruto .

Naruto was very overwhelmed by this nothing filled his heart with more joy than being compared to his father , he wiped his tears and smiled at Tsunade .

Tsunade sighed 'This brat will be the end of me '

"All right if you have decided I can't stop you , I will make a list of people required to stay back for village's safety rest feel free to follow Naruto to the capital , Naruto I know you want to adhere to your duties but be careful a lot of people are riding on you ."

Naruto smiled " Don't worry Baachan , we will succeed dattebayo!"

By the next day a force of 90 shinobis were selected to depart for the capital including all the members of Konoha 11 and their Jounin senseis , initially there were many more applications but for village's safety and continuation of missions most were held back after some convincing and the selected assembled in front of the village gate at dusk .

"All right I hope you all are ready and prepared for what you will be facing , taking a town which is filled with hidden elite shinobis and traps is a very difficult job , but having said that I have complete faith in my shinobis ." Tsunade said smiling to the crowd who were now much more exited and confident
